I suppose i can explain further why Irritator having a stretchy jaw is dubious, and also why the splitting jaw interpretation is exceptionally stupid.

Some birds evolved stretchy jaw bones to allow them to swallow larger prey. Spinosaurids did not need such a specific adaptation as they have teeth and claws to manipulate and potion larger prey items with. The bones on spinosaurids are also much bigger than those of birds, which would make it harder to evolve into being stretchy in any significant way without lowering it's structural integrity, especially when those jaws were used to catch strong, wriggling, possibly relatively large prey.

The split jaw interpretation is in turn espetially absurd, as the whole reason why snakes have a "split jaw" (more specifically a lower jaw held together by stretchy tissue) is because they're a group of tertapods that evolved to stop being tetrapods, they have no limbs to help them pick appart their food, and they can't solely rely on gravity to swallow. The two sides of a snake's lower jaw being able to move independently is used to pull food into the mouth, with each side taking turns grabbing and pulling. it is an extremely specific feature and behavior, and they were certainly not needed for an animal with claws and the ability to shake it's head to pull food into smaller bites.

You know a scientific community is doing very good when a dubious at best paper comes out and people immediatly start drawing a real animal with a split jaw to refference a game made by a pedo and an abuser.

Most of the sames in the game for sub speices based on different fossils have fictional names.

This isn't a "dracorex", "dracorex" doesn't exist, it's a juvenile of an already named taxa. This is an adult Pachycephalosaurus with a head based on a juvenile fossil, it did not need to take the name, especially as, again, there are other similar instances in the game that use fictional names instead.

They could have very easily called it any sort of dragon-related name to Imply what it's based on instead and avoided the HP refference altogather.

There is no reason to believe they didn't know/ no one made them aware of the controversy of this name of a taxa that doesn't even exist, considering how widespread the knowledge about j.k.rowling's ongoing bigotry is now, and doing so much as not caring nowdays is hostile behavior in itself. If anything they shouldn't even have touched "dracorex" with a 50ft pole in the first place let alone use it's actual name.

Maybe next time it would be good to shut your trap for five seconds and read comments already made and answered about the post instead of posting an """""gotcha""""" take to at least two other people.

Sorry for the late reply, was moving out and then went to the hospital (top surgery!).

I abandoned the server because i had been pretty mean to a specific member, agressive even, and couldn't really bear to show my face anymore. I ghosted it instead of deleting because i didn't want to suddently cut off interraction between members, as for a while after i was gone, i could see the server was still active.

I have apologised to the aforementioned member, and he took the apology, i am very grateful for this. He's a cool guy, though i'm not tagging his name as i don't know how he'd feel being roped back into this story.

Back then when things started to go south, i was at a pretty low point in my life, and it kinda stayed that way until very, very recently. Thing after thing would happen, and the paleo&dinosaur community being toxic did not help me with trying to heal (unrelated to the server, this is more so about running this blog, which was much more active back then), i was on edge and my mood was ever shifting. This does not justify any of this, of course, and it's not my intent to claim it does, instead i point that out as being what i can see looking back, about the ways i was feeling. Regardless of all this, acting the way i did and bringing upset and hurt to people i had promised safety to through running that server was unfair and cruel.

I am not sure what now could be done to better the bad i have done.

I am very thankful to have been friends with him and everyone else in the server for this while. It's a shame i couldn't be up to the task i promised i could hold back then. I am open to chat if anyone from the server has anything to ask or tell me.

Praying for Frontier to make their own dinosaur game without being chained to the ovewhelming stank of JW and use only their own in house artists and advice from Actual paleontologists and most of all biologists who specialise in living animal anatomy to make it as true to life as Planet Zoo.

I will search for the ones relating to the poor design choices of the game at some point, however my main point was expressing again how rancid both the community and dev team are as human beings, and most of the stuff relating to that i have reblogged at the same time as this one. There’s only one i have to scroll around my blog to find again, which was one showing screenshots of the PK server openly shitting on BLM with no backlash from admins or the devs.

It changed because the devs shit their pants thinking about their reputation, less than a week before then it was still a free for all. As a matter of fact i already did mention it.

Even if the moderation has changed, even more so being that it’s been barely two days, you have no place to be parading pretending people who called out the server are wrong or unjustified for being angry. Had i gone onto that server before the callouts, i sure as hell would have been dogpiled, considering the server has been openly shitting on me several times.

Several people have been feeling unsafe because of this server, several people have been hurt by this server, because the devs and mods weren’t doing shit to protect them, and you’re expecting all accusations to vanish within two days of the rules being changed to finally not allow slurs and for everyone to suddently be like “yay pk is good pk forgiven” ?

You’re basically asking for all of the PK moderation’s trash to be erased from existence just because they decided that maybe it wasn’t a good idea to be so open about allowing bigotry in their community after all.

How entitled are you to think that this is how life works ? Or maybe are you just mad you won’t be able to call people r*t*rd*d in public anymore ?

The server’s community was caught doing horrible shit, with no punishment from moderation; changing the rules won’t suddently change what has been done, for a very long time, and you should at least show respect to those who rightfully called out that shit, because without the threat of losing their reputation, we both know full well the devs wouldn’t have done anything more than they ever did in the past. What happened has happened and the devs have prover to be untrustworthy, erasing the screenshots and callouts would serve no one but them, and they sure as hell are not in position to ask for such a blessing.

You may not agree with my criticism of PK’s mediocre designs and the harm that their pretend accuracy causes, and that’s your right, even though you’re wrong.

But when it comes to this.
