Funny headcanon
So the Slytherins notice that Albus acts like a kitten and teases him. Stratching his hair and all that and making cat related nicknames. Tho Albus secretly like it, he is in absolute denial. Ppl believed that he was a cat in a human body. But then when they had to learn how to cast a patronus in Dada, Albus is horrified to realize that his patronus is a cat. Everyone saw it and the teasing increased. Tho Scorpius found it cute
Bonus if everyone sends cat related items to Albus in Christmas and the Potter-Weasleys are confused as heck.

Lmao! Now I feel like there should be a fanfic where all the CC characters write AITA posts on reddit.
Thinking about the fanfiction where Scorpius and Albus had notebooks they could use to message each other. I think this whould be so funny.
Albus: Scorpius son of Scorpions! I need your help
Scorpius: we are in class what could you possibly need?
Albus: the answer to question 3
Scorpius: fine. It's newts eyes
Albus: ????

Oh gosh! Borderline absolutely describes his sudden mood changes. Before I was kind of skeptical whether he was bipolar cuz his mood swings were sudden. But that could easily be attributed to borderline disorder.
Yeah, CC def took place during a mania episode.
Tbf, I think both Scorpius and Delphi could be his FP, since he is very attached to Scorpius as well.
When I first read Cursed Child at 12, at the time, I was aspiring to be a psychologist and was researching a lot on depression and anxiety(especially for kids and teens since I wanted to help them the most). When I read Albus' character, I kept seeing many signs of him being depressed. The way he seemed to neglect himself(there was a line that described his face as sallow[which is a word used to show unhealthiness and self neglect]), his bouts of anger and lashing out, and his general upset and low self esteem. And since bullying and family issues were top reasons for a child to be suicidal, I was convinced.
Now I'm realising that he's more likely of a candidate for a personality disorder(cough... bipolar ...cough). I admit, I'm not as well-versed in personality disorders(so feel free to point out if I'm wrong).
I remember the first time I read CC, I was a bit confused at Albus' sudden mood changes which I deemed to be unrealistic. A classic example was during his third year. He fought with his dad and got angry to the point that he burnt his hogsmede permission form and had a rant, but the moment he saw Scorpius, he instantly went all cheery and exclamation marks??? Normally it takes a while for someone to calm down from a fight and it would be fine if Albus was relieved or just slightly happy. But he went full on exclamation marks and he def wasn't angry at Scorpius.
But that didn't convince me that something could be wrong. The fact that did was the whole time travel plot. Albus read to me as downright cheerful and his insane plot to travel time couldn't even be discouraged by his bestie who claimed multiple times that this was a bad idea and Albus lost his mind. It was like a switch had flipped and he was opposite. Albus was still Albus sure but he acted different than what was told to us. Of course that could be also because he wasn't in Hogwarts which was a major cause of his distress.
But here me out. Once Rose and Hugo got deleted out of existence, it would be a sensible thing to realise that time travel is not a good idea. Scorpius certainly realised it(tho he was skeptical from the start). But Albus didn't and decided that it was a good idea to try again. Either he was a complete idiot or delusional. Then he gave a monologue how losers have powers and abilities(err wot???) and managed to convince Scorpius to try again.
Albus finally seems to come to his senses afterwards(thank god!).
I was incredibly confused for years. Then I read this fanfic where Albus was portrayed as bipolar and then it clicked. All of Albus' overly cheerful behavior and crazy ideas could be described as manic. And I don't think really need to explain the depression part to y'all.
Again, I could be wrong. I'm extremely sorry if I misunderstood bipolar disorder and mixed it up. But yeah, that was my interpretation.

Ever since I was little, whenever I heard music in a certain tone, I associate it with a color for some reason. My brain goes saying 'oh this is a blue tone' or 'argh it's too yellowy, the song would've been better in green'. I thought that no one would understand me cuz like who associates songs with colors? And it made it difficult for me to communicate with ppl regarding songs.
My kidself was always angry if someone sings a song in a different tone(I was very particular that if you had to imitate the singer it should be exact lmao). I was angry that a girl in my sixth grade won singing Chandelier even though she 'sang in a white tone instead of the og red one'. But obviously I knew that no one would understand. My sister sometimes sang and I preferred blue tones(she sung in the most horrid shade of yellow) but I couldn't just ask my sister to sing that way lmao without her being confused. I couldn't really express my words. But I grew up and realised that it didn't matter much. Like who cares which tone you sing in?
Today, I accidentally let slip to my friend about this and she was very curious and started asking about which songs are which color. She didn't get my color scheme lmao. She thinks I associate each color with an emotion so like sad songs are blue or happy songs are yellow. Tbf, I associate similar songs to be one color regardless of their content. But yeah we had a good laugh about it. One of my other friends had a good idea of my color scheme(it finally made sense to someone) but she calls the white tone as delicate which.... I don't necessarily agree with but makes sense tbh.
It's even more weird that when ppl talk, I can't find out which color their voices are since their tone changes everytime(and you have to extend the way they say a particular word to decipher a color). I tend to assume them a a mostly brown/grey. Apparently, my color association seems to be easy for songs.
So now I'm dead confused on why my brain thinks like this. Like I kind of enjoy that I can put a name to a certain tune but just.... why????

Not enough people talk about the fact that the cover of cc is literally Albus trapped inside a birds nest with Delphi’s tattoo surrounding him.

I kind of find it a blessing that no one ships this considering the amount of tom x harry fans. But at the same time, I do wish that this issue was addressed by the fans. All the CC haters complain about the whole Albus kissing Hermione polyjuiced as Ron. But they never discuss the Delphi x Albus dynamic. And many fans kind of love the whole complex trauma and all and the Albus -Delphi relationship is perfect for fanfic writers who aim to write about trauma(especially the writers who adore to write about how Vernon non-conned Harry which ain't canon).
And imo, if ppl were aware of this, it would be a perfect opportunity to raise awareness of grooming that happens irl. Like many guys get groomed by teachers but sometimes they get dismissed. Sometimes stories can communicate real life problems.
But tbh, as much as I love CC, I despise this aspect of the play. Can't Delphi be a stereotypical villain? Or maybe a friendship instead of romantic feelings involved?
Augurlight has got to be one of the strangest ships in the HP fandom because it’s technically canon, it’s deeply toxic, not a single person ships it, and people don’t even realise it’s a thing despite technically being canon.
Like, it’s a very dark ship, Delphi was 22 and Albus was 14, and Delphi was actively flirting with, manipulating and grooming Albus. Like, she fully kissed him on the cheek in a scene. And she even went as far as to manipulate Scorpius to make sure Albus would do her bidding. Albus would have gone to the ends of the earth for her, and like, no one talks about it. It’s such a dark ship that’s somewhat canon and like, somehow it’s still so obscure.
People focused too hard on how jealous it made Scorpius, and not enough on how damaging it was to Albus. Like, boy had insecurities, daddy issues, and no adults he really trusted, and Delphi used this to make him do whatever she wanted. It’s such a dark and cruel ship but guys it came so close to being canon. Albus canonically had feelings for her which she encouraged and exploited.
I don’t know guys, feel like given this fandoms tendency to love dark ships and include non-con in fanfiction Augurlight should have gotten more attention. Seen more shit about Delphi and Scorpius than Delphi and Albus.

Now I really crave of a fanfic of this premise. It would be highly interesting. But sadly, since Scorpius seems to take it like a joke, idk whether the wizarding world would actually care. Hopefully, Scorpius was just immature
That’s Not Right (HPCC)
Albus stood with his father, arms crossed, listening to him ramble about his fear of pigeons. Albus felt his gut twist, with something unspoken that he knew couldn’t stay that way. His father would never understand the depth of his heartbreak, the depth of what Delphi’s manipulation and betrayal did to him. He would never know unless Albus got this off of his chest.
“Dad…?”
“I mean really, they’re like flying rats,” his father continued to ramble. “And I don’t have a great history with rats.”
“Dad?”
“But there’s just something in those very eyes that’s really horrifying to me.”
“Dad.”
“Can’t even stand to look at—“
“Dad!”
There was a brief moment of silence as Harry Potter finally shut his mouth, and turned to his son. Albus crossed his arms and shrunk. He was ashamed, horribly so. He felt gross about the feelings he’d harboured for the Riddle girl, and like maybe he should just pretend he’d never liked her. Maybe his father would get angry with him if he admitted to it? But he needed to get it off his chest.
“I liked her.”
“I’m sure you did Albus,” Harry answered, clearly not understanding. “It’s a horrible thing to have a friend betray your trust like that.”
“No, you don’t get it. I liked her. A lot.”
Harry was quiet for a moment.
“I suppose I can understand that,” his father sighed. “She was a pretty girl, and she was nice to you. I can’t say I’m really surprised you developed a small crush on her.”
“I thought she might like me back….”
Harry faltered at that. “Oh yeah?” He seemed suddenly uncomfortable. “What gave you that idea? She must’ve said a lot of nice things to manipulate you.”
“Well, she kissed me for one.”
“She what!?”
Albus immediately recognised his mistake. “It was just on the cheek!” He stammered, glancing to see the appalled look on his fathers face. “Forget it! I shouldn’t have said anything!”
Albus turned to storm off, reprimanding himself for admitting such a thing to his father. This was the daughter of Voldemort! Of course his father would be disgusted to know Albus had let her kiss him like that! He should have known better. He should have just say with the uncomfortable feeling in his stomach.
“Albus wait!” Harry grabbed his arm to stop him. “She kissed you? Wha — You know why that’s wrong, don’t you?”
“Yeah, I’m well-aware of my stupidity, Dad!” Albus lashed out. “She’s Voldemort’s daughter, she was only using me, she just wanted me to do whatever she asked. I know I was an idiot to ever think it was real!”
“Albus that’s not — that’s not why it’s wrong!” Harry turned Albus to face him. “She’s 22.”
“Yeah, I know that.”
“And you’re 14.”
“So?” Albus shrugged. “Eight year age gap? Bill’s four years older than Fleur.”
“That’s not the same thing Albus!” Harry scolded. “You’re a child! No adults that aren’t relatives should be kissing you! Even on the cheek!”
“Since when?” Albus raised an eyebrow, he really didn’t understand why this was what upset his father about everything. “That rule didn’t exist when I was a kid.”
“What are you talking about?” Harry asked. “This rule has always existed. It’s law!”
“I don’t get it? Skeeter talked about my dating life when I was seven. Strangers would ask to hold me when we were out in public. One lady kissed my cheek as a goodbye. I know it’s not okay that I let Delphi kiss me, I know I should’ve known better than to trust her, you don’t have to pretend it’s something it’s not.”
Harry stood in shock for a moment. He didn’t seem to know what to say. Albus had called him out for sugarcoating the real reason he was disgusted and now he didn’t know how to respond. That had to be it.
“Albus … I … that’s not right. None of that is okay. I … I wanted to protect you from all of that. You weren’t supposed to grow up like that.”
“Like what? That’s all normal. Isn’t it…?” Albus swallowed. That has to all be normal. It didn’t seem strange and no one had ever said anything about it. The whole Rita Skeeter thing might have been a bit odd, but tons of people asked to hold other peoples kids and tons of people kissed as a goodbye. It was normal. At least, he thought it was normal.
“Albus, no one has the right to do anything to you like that,” Harry explained slowly. “It is not your fault that Delphi kissed you. It is not your fault that you were tricked. She’s an adult Albus. Adults aren’t supposed to kiss children. You know that, right?”
“Yeah…,” Albus swallowed. He hadn’t thought of it like that. “But I mean, this was different. I practically asked for it.”
Harry pulled Albus into a hug. “No you didn’t. You didn’t do anything wrong. You didn’t … Merlin, Albus, regardless of if you wanted it to happen or not, she should have known better than to kiss a child like that.”
“Dad, it was just on the cheek….”
“That doesn’t make it okay. That’s not right Albus. That’s really not right. She’s an adult and you’re a child. That shouldn’t happen. Please tell me you understand what I’m trying to say?”
“I understand. It was wrong, and it shouldn’t have happened.”
Albus really didn’t understand, but he figured it might make his father feel better. Albus had initiated the whole thing really, and he’d wanted her attention. Really, it was his fault, and she was just using his feelings to trick him into doing her bidding. Merlin, he really chose the worst person to have feelings for.
“Why was it wrong?” Harry asked. “Albus, I need to know you understand why what she did was wrong.”
“I’m a child,” Albus answered, although he still felt that wasn’t really the biggest reason for it being wrong. “Adults aren’t supposed to kiss children.”

I have this belief that all of Albus' issues kept piling on his head until Harry said that he wished Albus was his kid. Then Albus kind of broke and decided to do this insane adventure.
But yeah I completely agree that he seems to have some kind of personality disorder. When I first read CC at 12 years old, I thought his emotions switched way too fast and he seemed to have these insane idea that he was way too enthusiastic about. He seemed way too happy yet way too sad at the same time lol. At first, I thought he was bipolar coded but not all the symptoms match but yeah. His emotional reactions ain't very healthy.
Albus Severus Potter haters are so wild. Their biggest complaint is that he’s self-centered and childish.
LIKE YEAH HE’S A FUCKING CHILD!!! ONE WHOSE ENTIRE IDENTITY WAS MANUFACTURED BY OTHER PEOPLE BASED ON WHO HIS FAMILY WAS!!! I THOUGHT YOU LIKED A DARK HAIRED SAD BOY THAT MAKES QUESTIONABLE CHOICES!!!
Albus has literally gone his entire childhood with strangers, and even his own family, only talking about him with how they can compare him to his father. “Oh, he’s got Harry’s hair and eyes” “oh he looks just like his father did” “of course he loves quidditch, look at his parents”. Like, Albus has only ever gotten attention from people comparing him to other people. So yeah, when he gets to school and meets someone that doesn’t give a shit, he wants all the attention he can get! He’s grown up being gawked at, not listened to!
Also, are we going to ignore the fact that a 22 year old woman kissed him at 14 and he didn’t even question it!? Delphi fucking flirted with him and he just thought it was normal! Boy has no sense of bodily autonomy.

People have this weird habit of playing the pain Olympics even for fictional characters. I guarantee that if neither Harry nor Scorpius weren't mentioned in CC, ppl would've fallen themselves over defending Albus and feeling pity to him. But since Harry and Scorpius are mentioned, ..... Albus' problems are "lesser" than theirs so he has no right to whine.
Never mind the fact that bullying is the no. 1 cause of suicide among teens. That Albus was bullied over 3 years and was so unsafe that he resorted to using the invisibility cloak to escape from them(invisibility cloaks are used to spy, sneak around for pranks, etc. It's depressing that one would use the invisibility cloak to hide from tormentors). That Albus had no identity other than "opposite from Harry Potter, what a loser"
Never mind the fact that family issues is also a major cause of depression. That "I wish you weren't my son" are words that scarred children. That threatening a child's privacy is kinda fucked up in an almost - abuse way. That it doesn't matter how bratty a child is, they never deserves all this. That the reason why Albus was bratty was all his relentless bullying.
Never mind the fact that Albus was fucking GROOMED by Delphi. That the wizarding world is so foreign to the concept of stranger danger. That it's so backwards that it never warned kids. That Albus was kind of fucked up before the whole adventure and he came out of it even more messed mentally.
Whether someone's parents died or not does not determine about the severity of Albus's problems. And his problems are incredibly severe and most ppl would develop major depression to the point of suicide. And y'all say it's not serious.
Fuck the haters!
Albus Severus Potter haters are so wild. Their biggest complaint is that he’s self-centered and childish.

This this this! Everything Harry did in Cursed Child was in character and was so painfully Harry. Cursed Child!Harry reminded me of OOTP!Harry. Harry didn't have the intention to hurt Albus; he was stressed and on his breaking point. Everything else he did was to protect his child who he loves fiercely.
As someone with C-PTSD, many close friends with PTSD, C-PTSD and DID, and a close friend whose dad is an ex-war-vet with PTSD, I feel like I’m fairly qualified to say this. I’m going to upset people, but if you get upset I’m just going to have to assume you have a very surface level understanding of PTSD. At no point in the Cursed Child does Harry act out of character. Everything he does is completely in character for a father with PTSD.
Allow me to explain.
Harry’s PTSD specifically — more likely C-PTSD if we’re honest — is caused by the loss of his parents, severe child abuse, repeated attempts on his life, being raised as a child soldier, watching the people he loved die over and over again, and literally dying himself. He has got severe trauma and C-PTSD from all of these childhood experiences.
The symptoms of C-PTSD are panic attacks, flashbacks, nightmares or night terrors, trust issues, anger issues, severe mood swings, intrusive thoughts that can mimic delusion at times, depression and anxiety. I experience these symptoms, and I can safely say that Harry also experiences all of these symptoms. C-PTSD isn’t pretty, it’s not just beautiful crying, it’s not just acting weak, it’s not just needing to be saved. That’s a horrible depiction of C-PTSD and Harry is perhaps the most realistic depiction I’ve seen.
The scenes throughout Albus’ first three years of Hogwarts do incorporate his symptoms. Harry isn’t boasting about his brave childhood adventures, he’s trying to warn Albus to stay safe and out of too much trouble because he doesn’t want Albus to face the same troubles he faced. He gets upset when Albus burns the Hogsmeade letter because for him that was a place of refuge, and Albus is saying he hates Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, two places that made Harry feel safe and loved.
Now the scene I’m sure you were all thinking of immediately when I said Harry doesn’t act out of character. The blanket scene. I will say this again, it’s completely in character. Albus is shouting at his dad about his parents. Harry’s first assumption when Albus talks about how not having his parents might not be so bad is that Albus is trying to say he wants Harry dead. This has got to hurt, and they’re talking about his parents. He grew up with everyone wanting him dead, Albus is absolutely triggering his C-PTSD whether he knows it or not.
When Albus says he wishes Harry wasn’t his dad, Harry is already triggered, losing his temper, and upset. He’s retaliating in kind with the same comment because he’s been triggered. He says the meanest thing he can think of and immediately regrets it. Harry doesn’t mean what he has said, his C-PTSD has been triggered and so he’s lashing out. This is normal, this is the side of C-PTSD that people don’t like because it’s not palatable so the media will sanitise it.
Albus is a teenager, he doesn’t really understand that his dad has C-PTSD, and that he has triggered him. He doesn’t understand that Harry’s response is purely a trauma response — specifically fight, because he’s been pushed into his fight, flight, freeze, fawn reflexes by Albus. I’m telling you, if Harry had responded with flight, leaving the room, you would have felt sorry for him and hated Albus. If Harry had responded with freeze, and just stood there in shock, you would have felt sorry for him and wanted Albus to apologise. If Harry had responded by trying to ask Albus what was wrong and why he would say such a thing, you would have loved Harry even more. But because Harry grew up as a child soldier, his automatic response will almost always be fight. That’s why he responds with the meanest thing he can think of.
When Albus goes missing, Harry is reminded of how many times he or his friends went missing because of evil forces outside of their control. He’s panicked and he’s thinking about what happened to him as a kid. When his nightmares return and his scar starts hurting his first instinct isn’t “oh I’m having severe flashbacks and night terrors” it’s “Voldemort’s back and he’s going to try and kill my son”. He’s panicked and he’s doing whatever he can to find his son and keep him safe. He also feels guilty because he knows that he has something to do with this, because he said something horrible to Albus and Albus believed it to be true.
When Harry does find Albus, he’s in the forbidden forest with Scorpius Malfoy. He’s injured and he passes out. Harry has plenty of time to think up horrible scenarios while Albus is unconscious, especially in regards to the dark cloud surrounding his son. Scorpius was the only one he knew was hanging out with Albus, Albus was severely injured, Harry has a bad history with the Malfoy’s, it’s not unreasonable for him to assume the worst. He’s not trying to hurt anyone, he’s doing what he thinks needs to be done to make sure Albus doesn’t have a childhood at all similar to his.
People will point out that Harry was a friendless child with bullied as if to say he should know better than to separate them, but they’re not considering that Harry has C-PTSD. He is experiencing the worst possible intrusive thoughts, and he’s so afraid that Albus will get hurt again or worse, that he’s behaving in a way you might perceive as dickish, but in actuality is very normal for someone with C-PTSD. He’s assumed the worst of the kid to keep Albus safe.
He’s lashing out at McGonagall, forcing her to keep close surveillance on Albus and Scorpius in the same way he wished Dumbledore would have been more wary of some of the people he let get close to Harry. Harry is trying to make sure Albus doesn’t deal with what he did, he wants to be the adult in Albus’ life he wished he’d had in his own. The problem is that Albus doesn’t need that, that’s what the actual issue is. Harry is trying to be what he needed, not what Albus needs now.
As for the whole investigating the rumour regarding Scorpius’ heritage, I can tell you with one hundred percent certainty Harry did not actually believe that rumour. He was looking for excuses to justify to himself why he might separate the two, because even on some subconscious level he knew he wasn’t doing the right thing. Once he’s out of that angry situation, once he’s calmed down a bit to be able to think more clearly, Draco shows up to his house to start a fight and he immediately gets back on the defensive. Harry knows he hasn’t done the right thing, he knows that this isn’t the type of protection Albus needs, but he can’t understand what Albus does need so he’s trying to do what he needed as a kid.
Throughout the rest of the play, it’s pretty clear that the only thing Harry wanted to do was keep his son safe. The rest of the play he is just trying over and over again to make sure Albus is safe, alive and well. Harry has realised his mistakes, he’s aware that his actioned were the result of his own trauma and that he needs to make things right. He’s aware that in his attempts to protect Albus he was ultimately the person that hurt Albus most.
It’s at the end of the play that Harry realised he should have been more forthcoming with Albus. Albus views his father as some infallible god that can do no wrong because that is what he has been taught to believe. Harry is attempting to humanise himself in the final scene with Albus, he’s trying to make Albus realise that he is a human, more specifically a severely traumatised human, and he is terrified of a lot of things and he’s going to make mistakes.
You don’t have to like Harry, I certainly didn’t when I first read the Cursed Child, but at no point is he acting out of character. You also don’t have to think Albus needs to forgive Harry, their relationship is going to improve but that doesn’t mean Albus has to forgive his dad for doing such horrible things. You want more accurate C-PTSD representation. Your hatred for the way Harry acts in the Cursed Child is proof you aren’t ready for it.
Signed a person with C-PTSD.

I'm a bit late lmao. But who I relate to most is Albus! Like our circumstances are diff; like I love school and I ace in studies. But our thoughts are literally the same. I remember the first time reading CC, and whatever thoughts I had, Albus goes voicing it in the next line lmao. And we share the same flaws and character traits
which hp character do yall project onto? i just want to see how diverse the amount of characters are tbh
(personally its hermione granger and andromeda black for me)
