I see a lot of people online comparing Soldier Boy to Homelander and saying Soldier Boy’s stronger. So let’s be real for a second.

I want to dive into Homelander’s powers

starting with his durability. We never saw him bleed until season 3. Even when he was a kid in Diabolical, he didn’t show any signs of injury. But in season 3, Soldier Boy and Butcher bruise him, and Maeve makes his nose bleed with a punch, which is interesting. However, when Maeve stabs him in the ear with a tiny metal rod, it hurts him, which doesn’t make sense. It’s like throwing a plastic straw at a concrete wall — no matter how hard you throw it, the straw won’t leave a dent. It feels like the writers just gave Maeve a win for no reason.

Then there’s Butcher threatening Stillwell with a bomb, and she says no weapon has ever worked on Homelander. So does that mean even nukes wouldn’t hurt him? I think yes. The doctors tried everything to kill him as a kid, but nothing worked. If nukes could harm him, they wouldn’t need to create a clone in the comics.

Homelander is the strongest supe until Soldier Boy shows up with his nuclear blast. But even then, does Soldier Boy’s blast hurt him? I don’t think so. Homelander’s powers are different. He got them in the womb from V, not after he was born. That’s a huge difference. So the V in Homelander’s DNA isn’t just an enhancement — it’s a permanent genetic rewrite. Which means there’s nothing left to "burn out." This is also why he could transfer his powers to his son Ryan. That said, the show could totally do another “magic rod to the ear” thing and decide Soldier Boy can take his powers — even if that doesn’t really make sense based on the lore.

Laser vision is another crazy power. We’ve seen him cut a plane in half with ease, which requires insane heat — around 5000°C or more. And he melted a gun from a criminal’s hand at 2000–3000°C. probably close to the surface of the sun.

His speed is insane too. He took out a room of armed guys in the blink of an eye and pulled Butcher out of a house just before it exploded, showing he can react in milliseconds.

His only real weakness? High-frequency sound, used in season 2 to separate him from Ryan. Other than that, nothing stops him.

Homelander’s strength is also off the charts — even Butcher, Hughie, and Soldier Boy on V couldn’t hold him down. He’s just on another level.

In the end, Soldier Boy’s powers can’t hurt him. And even if they could, Homelander is fast enough to dodge them.
