Cats in the Rat Race
Gildember 29th
Valens
Party: Ship Dandies
Konguq-Human Wizard Captain
Ace-Human Rouge Quartermaster
Calix- Minotaur Marshal Night Watch and Battle Master
Oliver- Half-elf Bard and Navigation
The party leaves the ship with Lindvai to hit up a local tavern to get information on potential buyers for their sword blades and chainmail. She leads the group the the Golden Salamander . As they walk, they notice that the town is more lively than normal, and in turn more dangerous.
As they enter they get a few looks but nothing more and meet the bartender Largo. Him and Lindvai recognize each other and they start talking. He tells the group that with the King announcing them joining the dragon armies a position has opened up to be the one in charge of the supplies. Now everyone is out trying to prove thier mettle. The group is uneasy selling their goods to the enemy and instead decide to see if they can find any dissenters.
Calix makes sure Lindvai returns safely to the Dandy Rose. The two share soft thanks before Calix goes to find the others.
Oliver and Konguq go to talk to the local merchants for information while Ace sticks behind at the Golden Salamander and talks up the locals for information.
Ace spends a few hours talking and buying a few drinks for folks until he gets a lead from a goblin pirate who mentions thier captain might be interested.
Konguq meets her merchant friends who are all happy to see her again and are proud of her success in being captain. From them she learns that when the king announced that Valens was joining the war it was a clan of Ogres, lead by a woman named Kris, that actually voiced thier displeasure with the decision. Also while talking she mentions that she plans to return to Ice Reach using a secret path beneath the glaciers. With that the merchants are extremely excited, hoping that she's able to create a stable trade route that way.
The three return to the Golden Salamander and begin to swap information with Ace. They talk trying to plan out their next course of action and decide to talk to the ogres. They mention being diplomatic but Oliver reminds them that Ogres best respond to might and that they need to be able to flex a little. Konguq in her eagerness flashes the Blade of the Aurora which draws unwanted attention. Shortly after the group leaves and Calix notices behind them that people are watching. Before leaving Calix turns to the people and threatens that if he catches them he's going to pommel them. The onlookers return to the tavern, allowing Oliver to guide them through the city unmolested.
They reach the neighborhood where the Ogre clan has made their home and the group tries to hail one down to see if they can talk to Kris. Unfortunately, they don't speak common and they become wary very quickly, with them drawing their club. Oliver a little panicked starts rapid fire trying to talk to them in any language he knows until he gets a reaction from speaking Kharolian. The ogre stops and he tries talking with them, at first trying to persuade them that they are both allies against the dragon armies and want thier help. The ogre is unimpressed by them however and turns to leave. With no other choice, Oliver tells them that the group already has a dragon orb and whips out a ballbearing, casting minor illusion on it to make it look like one. The ogre is a little more intrigued, especially after learning that it controls dragons. They take them to Kris so they can negotiate.
They meet her in her home and begin to discuss. Oliver explains the dragon orb to her and spins that Ace managed to steal it from Palanthas. When she asks to confirm with Ace he attempts to beat around the bush. Kris pulls out an Ogre skull from her bag and places it on the table. She tells him that was what happened to the last person who wasted her time and to tell her straight if he stole it or not. He agrees that he stole it.
She's asked if they've seen a real dragon and Konguq confirms that they have in Solace and was there when the city burnt to the ground. She also admits that they didn't have the Orb by then and therefore couldn't do anything about it.
Kris tells them that her clan was displaced by the dragon armies and thus why the clan hates them. She does offer her assistance if they can help her become the people to run things in Valens, though they currently sit dead last. If they get the position however when the time comes they'll turn against the dragon armies and join their cause. The party accepts the terms and Kris tells them the names of their targets.
Evio
Spike - a goblin pirate captain
Hayner- the beggar king
Chrysalis
Kris wants to take out Evio herself. If one of the others give the group trouble she'll step in, but if they can take out all three she'll give them a magic horn. The group agrees to the terms and offer her the sword blades and chainmail to which she takes interest in. Once the group leaves Kris makes a point to shake their hands Infront of the rest of the clan to show thier good will.
The party returns to the ship and discuss thier next move. As they do, Darvis speaks up being uncomfortable with the fact they're aiding someone who will be joining the dragon armies. Konguq tries to explain that they needed to sell their goods and they will have an ally when the time comes. Darvis pushes back that they are still going to kill people and then asks how much his own life is worth to her. Oliver steps in, telling him that unfortunately, they're in a war. And that no matter what they do people are going to die, so it's better to have someone in their pocket rather than a future enemy down the line. Darvis accepts the answer from him, easing his stance.
The group decides with the current in they have with Ace, to go after Spike first and see if they can't at least scare him off. Before they go, Vorlo slips Ace a vial of alchemist fire to go into the encounter with. Zim joins the group as well to provide muscle.
They approach the Bone Ship and ask to speak with the captain about their offer of blades and chainmail. Spike comes out completely armored in shark jawbones and a sword. Conversation starts out friendly enough, talking about offerings to Zeboim and Spike pointing out the drum on the ship to them. They make an offer on the blades and throw in an agreement to not attack the Dandies on the sea. Konguq however begins to make a show of strength bragging about killing Oleander Bloodblade. Spike then shows his hand, revealing a mark of Zeboim under his headband and has the group swarmed by his crew. Ace starts the encounter throwing his vial of alchemist fire at the mast to begin destruction and flanks Spike.
Calix joins Ace and the two double team the captain, striking him hard.
Konguq fills the lower levels with rain water making it a struggle for the rest of the crew to come to the surface, then begins to disintegrate Spike's armor. Zim grapples the captain, holding him in place as he struggles to bite through the bones.
The other goblins begin thier assault, one trying to attack Konguq. Ace however stops them in thier tracks vaporizing him. Another however lands a critical on Calix's jaw, breaking it.
Oliver begins his song, the rhythm throwing off their attackers. He sets to insult Spike with vicious mockery, but the insult lands so critically the captain becomes petrified, turning to fish bone. An effect Oliver didn't see coming.
The first mate speaks up, realizing that they are outmatched and asking how to get out alive from the scenario. Konguq tells them to leave and they won't bother them. The first mate agrees, but the other ships won't leave unless they sound the drum. Unfortunately unless the captain does it, the person playing it explodes. The group grows frantic trying to figure out what to do, but thier efforts seem to be in vain. Calix eventually steps up to try and is struck down barely with an inch of his life.
With no other options, Oliver goes up. Ace tries to dissuade him but Oliver knows he's the only one with experience with performance and steps up. He can feel something trying to strike back at him as he does, but manages to push through. The other ships raise anchor and they take off.
With a severely injured Calix and an exhausted Konguq carried by Ace, they return to the ship, one mark taken off their list.
They regroup and rest at the ship planning thier next move. Hug asks that Calix goes shopping for him and Lindvai agrees to come along. As the two leave Oliver plays a little soft tune watching the two flirt as they walk. Lindvai mentions her transition and Calix doesn't mind either way.
Konguq, Ace, and Oliver decide to hit the streets to learn about Hayner. As they step off a young girl in tattered clothes approaches them asking why they chased off Spike. Oliver engages conversation with her asking why she wants to know and she tells them Hayner wanted to know. Oliver lies and tells the girl it was just a dispute between two pirate captains and she takes off with the information. With a nod, Ace follows after the girl with Konguq and Oliver keeping a safe distance.
Ace follows her to another building. Once she goes in, a kender man leaves quickly taking off into the crowd. Ace follows behind still unseen until he sees the kender duck into a barred window underneath the castle. Konguq and Oliver catch up and they send Agratok in to scout ahead. The little penguin slips into the hallway but however isn't discreet, and is quickly captured and brought into a room. Konguq ends the spell and resummons Agratok and has him tell the group what he saw. He was grabbed and asked to tell what he knows, then threatened to be stabbed by the man named Hayner. With their target confirmed, Ace slips between the bars himself and comes face to face with the beggar king.
Hayner is wary of the rougish man, but Ace mentions knowing Brutus. His demeanor eases at the name and allows the man to follow him back into the room. Oliver and Konguq appear not too long after, surprising Hayner.
They enter the kitchen area and meet the kender they followed who called himself Nimble. They begin talking with Hayner trying to refer to him by his title, but he's said he's had enough of it for one life time. They come clean about thier encounter with Spike and why they drove him out. Hayner tells them that he doesn't care either way if he's chosen, saying that the only thing they would have to do is to get Kris's approval higher than his. The group leaves to find Calix and plan, but as they go Hayner tells Ace the next time he sees Brutus tell him Sayyer says hello.
Calix and Lindvai have a lovely time together finishing Hug's grocery list when the group finds them again. They go to meet at a cafe to plan and discuss.
What they ultimately decide to do is to take out Chrysalis first. Without her hanging over Oliver and Konguq's head they will have an easier time moving through the city. To make Kris look better they decide to have Oliver do a performance that slanders the dragon armies. Kris will then drive the Dandies out putting her approval over Hayner's in the running. Afterwards they will meet Kris at a drop off point to exchange the goods.
They return to the ship to drop off the supplies and waiting for them is Morris, holding a letter in his hand with a butterfly wax seal.

Ship Dandies
Meet the Party
Captain Konguq
A Battle Wizard, she came up from the south to learn more about being a wizard to help her tribe guided by her penguin companion Agratok. She grew up a merchant and is a shrewd negotiator. She killed the Pirate Captain Oleander Bloodblade and gained the Blade of the Aurora, making her Captain of the Dandy Rose. During the Test of High Sorcery she traded her memories of her lover and first mate Morris to never forget her spells. While in Vikaze she raised her zombie Zim, who consumed part of a plague spirit's essence. As a result, Zim has started to gain sentience.
Quartermaster Achaius "Ace" Ravenwing
A Courtier Rouge, he fled Solamnia after his master was killed in a heist gone wrong. He is a deft smooth talker with a tumultuous relationship with religion. He became Quartermaster because of his way with people, aided by his loyal puppy Callum. While he does rely on his cane, it contains a sword inside. Recently he's been answering the call of the goddess Mishakal, but isn't sure if his willingness to commit to her yet
Nightwatch and Battle Master Calix es-Galdar
A marshal and former member of the Dragon armies navy, he defected and became an exile when he was passed up for promotion. A stotic and honorable minotaur, he has traveled with his gully dwarf companion Hug to find new purpose and seek revenge.
Navigation Oliver Wavewalker
A smooth talking red robe wizard, his magic works differently than that of Konguq relying on his words rather than intelligence. A bardic vagabond and son of Ivelos and Andrea, he joined the Dandies looking for a story to tell. And possibly a way to wipe most of his debts
Helmsman Vorlo
A Hobgoblin apothecary and ship's helmsman, he is an unusual hobgoblin and is extremely friendly and warm towards the group. He partakes and creates a multitude of vices, but is supportive figure in the group.

The Battle of Winter's Burn
Darkember 14th-29th
Party: The Dandy Rose
Konguq-Human Wizard Captain
Ace-Human Rouge Quartermaster
Calix- Minotaur Marshal Night Watch and Battle Master
Oliver- Half-elf Bard and Navigation
Vorlo-Hobgoblin Apothecary and Helmsman
Ace, Konguq, Vorlo, and Zim return to the Dandy Rose, thier walk back being met with a mean storm on the Horizon.
Once they get back to Green Town they find the ship battered down already. They go below deck and are immediately met by amazing smelling food. They find in the kitchen a gully dwarf cooking with a large Minotaur. He introduces himself as Calix, a former member of the dragon armies and now exile. The gully dwarf is named Hug and is Calix's traveling companion.
As they introduce themselves Callum goes behind a crate and is met with a loud cat yowl. A young half-elf comes to the cat's aid, scolding the puppy for bothering it. Ace steps in for his dog and after a few seconds the half-elf's tune changes and introduces himself as Oliver Waverwalker, a wizard bard and son of Ivelos and Andrea Wavewalker from Wayreth.
While the storm passes over they mingle with the crew and make it obvious they know their away around a ship. Calix's relationship with Hug has eased the crew's stance on the Minotaur save Fallen Oak. Oliver is well liked around the crew with Ciella flirting hard with him. Martel is however nervous meeting another half-elf and Lindvai knows the exact kind of man Oliver is.
Over the next week they notice that their sending stones and sending spells aren't working, meaning they've lost complete contact with the Qualinesti crew. In addition they've been stalked by a Solamnic ship trying to run them down. With Nuitari and Luitari being at thier lowest, Konguq and Oliver struggle with thier magic while the white robe wizard on board is keeping up.
The group having only just barely gotten rest has decided to face the ship instead, faking surrender. Calix takes to the ship telescope and is able to see the crew. He gets descriptions of the captain and the white robe wizard on board. Ace recognizes the young captain as Jeronda Oakbow. She's one of the more recent cynical knights who's honor is only lip service for others. Konguq recognizes the wizard as Arelianaos Lucasi, the Silvanesti elf that chastised the party for killing Rumblegut. As the crew prepares for their "surrender" Fallen Oak takes up his bow and plants himself on the deck. Konguq casts invisibility on the man to keep the element of surprise.
Jeronda and Arelianaos are none the wiser to the crew's plan. Jeronda makes it clear that she wants thier ship destroyed while Arelianaos wants to destroy Zim. They refuse with Ace calling Jeronda's honor into question and Arelianaos prepares a fireball to hit the ship. Calix commands Fallen Oak to take the first shot and with Arelianaos none the wiser he gets critically wounded, bleeding badly.
Ace takes a few shots with his crossbow and joins Martle on the helm to try and get the ship out of a sticky situation. Konguq creates a mass of whirlpools between the ships to make it hard for the enemy ship to advance. She then begins to lay waste to the ship itself with lightingbolt, but Arelianaos manages to catch some of her essence to use against her. As the battle grows ever more intense, Oliver begins to sing, giving his allies a boost to morale.
Calix commands Fallen Oak to shoot again and it strikes true on the Arelianaos. He then aids Fallen Oak with his bow to help him shoot faster.
Arelianaos then casts Cone of Cold on the ship, trying to take out the Konguq. While he tried to use her energy against her, he was unaware of her immunity to cold and fails to damage her at all. The knights on board fire at her and do some minor damage.
Konguq then returns the favor, laying waste to the ship with fireball. While the dual casting of such high level spells dazes her, Arelianaos is no more and Jeronda is barely holding on. Ace goes to shoot her but she calls his morals into question, asking if she's dead how will the rest of the crew make it home. He spares her for the sake of the crew and the Dandy Rose sails away with minor damage.
Fallen Oak shows his appreciation to Calix for his assistance in battle by sharing on of his bottles with him. Oliver walks to the top of the mast and plays a song to help heal Konguq of her wounds and status condition, drawing some ire from Morris.
As the crew continues to travel, Oliver asks Calix about his time with the Dragon Armies and what his rank was before being exiled. Calix admits he didn't get very far in thier ranks but tells Oliver a story about one of his battles. While very text book about the tactics Oliver takes the time to listen and take away parts to use in his performances.
The rest of the crew gathers to hear and begins swapping stories as well, including Konguq's Test of High Sorcery. She tries to leave out the part where she gave up her memories of Morris to never forget her spells, but Morris makes her own it. Oliver asks if Konguq wants the scenario be portrayed as romantic or tragic, but she can't really pick. Morris then offers up the letter Konguq sent him to see how he interprets it. Oliver reads it, and says for the Captain's sake it will be in a romantic light. Ace doesn't share much with the bard.
The party finally makes it to Valens and prepare to unload. Oliver warns the group that he owes some people money here and would be prone to being harassed once off the ship. When asked how much he tells them about 290 steel.
They are greeted by an Ogre named Kyoric who recognizes Konguq. He is happy to see her and is impressed by her black robes and status as captain. He tells her that Valens has decided to join the Dragon Armies in the war and invites her to join their side. Konguq asks if Chrysalis is still in town, and he tells her that she is. When asked who Chrysalis is, she tells them that she is an "entrepreneur" who she refused to pay protection money to. Oliver recognizes Chrysalis as the woman he owes the 290 steel to.

Treason
Darkember 15th
Qualinost
Party: Qualinost
Vodren-Human Cleric
Ryai-Elf Spellblade
Shim-Human Artificer
Bomba-Gnome Monk
Broud- Half-Ogre Cleric
In the foyer of the Aedlock house, captain of gaurd calls for not only Nonasse's arrest; but the arrest of the entire party including "Cal".
Bomba is ready to fight the gaurd head on, but Vodren and Ryai don't want to get Ryai's father, Laith, into any trouble. In the meantime Laith goes to talk with the gaurd to buy them time.
Ryai knows the elves don't execute people, but they could very well be banished for this. Vodren tries to suggest self banishment and to sneak in later, but the punishment lies heavy on Ryai's head if that happens having him become a Dark Elf. Ryai wants to plead their case and cooperate. Breaking out of prison is better than turning tail and running.
The group decides to go and meet with the gaurd. Captain Angoviaras greets the group and reiterates the charge of treason. Ryai, pretending to be a cousin named Cal, asks the Captain on what grounds. The Captain reads the charge again and tells them they have been accused of the murder of Vanthanoris Althonos while in Crossing. "Cal" lies that he's never been to Crossing and has spent most of his time in Wayreth. It doesn't sway the captain and asks if they'll come quietly. Not wanting to risk Ryai's family, they go. The gaurd tells the group to leave Inevitable and Marovie behind. Laith goes to take Marovie into his study and comes back with a little vial and slips it to Shim. Laith tells Ryai to trust Shim and the group is taken to the dungeons.
The group is stripped of their items, however the gaurd ends up doing a poor job of looking for hidden items and they manage to slip a few things into their cells. Once they get to thier cells they realize this is the nicest prison some of them have ever been in, with Bomba being a repeat offender here. The gaurd named Ellie gets the group situated and tells them about how things work and asks if anyone has any food allergies.
As they get settled, they start to try and get thier bearings on their current situation. Ryai tries to study the architecture to try and get an idea of the layout, but gets too caught up in his family's work to glean anything useful.
Shim inspects the locks to see how easy they will be to pick. They notice they're of dwarven design and has been something they've worked with before.
Vodren chats with Ellie about the situation and tries to get a feel for his opinion. He seems like someone trying to just do his job.
Bomba's earring picks up that the gaurds above are talking about her. One mentions that they think it's dumb that she's been arrested since she's been in Qualinost the whole time. Another tells him it's Paladithel's order and if he wants to stick his neck out for her he is more than welcome to.
As it creeps closer to dinner, Shim takes out the little vial Laith slipped them. He twists the little owl lock on the top and out comes some hastily sketched blueprints of the dungeon showing where the evidence room is and a secret tunnel in the empty cell leading to the Roseblack.
As it quietly gets around to the other cells it reaches Ryai who recognizes the the Roseblack. They quickly try to plan thier escape and Ryai tries to remove the rod holding his privacy curtain off the wall. He manages, but it makes a loud noise alerting Ellie. He asks "Cal" what happened and Ryai tells him that he's a curious person. He makes Ryai switch cells and he ends up in the cell with the secret path.
Broud goes to rip his off the wall to give to Ryai and not only manages to do so, but open the bars separating their cells to slip it through to him. Casting Rumblegut's Surprising Staff, Ryai pokes Shim and then casts invisibility on them. Ryai hands the rod back and Broud closes the bars like nothing happened, getting Ryai slightly flustered.
Shim closes thier privacy curtain and waits for dinner to arrive. As the gaurds come to drop off their food, the one asks why "Cal" moved. Ryai responds that he was just trying to get a better look at his ancestors handiwork and everything clicks better with Ellie. Vodren offers to fix the broken rod and they take him up on it. He does with a simple mending cantrip and the gaurds give a little look of guilt once he does.
They deliver Shim's dish and Shim slips out the door without them noticing. Once Shim is out, they head straight towards the evidence room to grab everyone's stuff, easily picking the lock.
As they wait, Ryai goes to explore the cavern for a bit. If it wasn't for Ryai's latent magic, no elf would be able to see in the caverns. The walls are entirely made of rose quartz as rose vines litter the walls. He makes it to the bottom and finds a chest. In it are three sunrods and an old pocket book of Qualinesti law. He grabs the book and heads back up, telling the group what he found.
Bomba starts to get extremely bored and asks if she can have her pan flute at least. Ellie complies and tells the gaurd up top to grab Bomba's pan flute. Shim, who hasn't made it back yet starts to hug the wall as the gaurd realizes the weapons have been stolen. They slip back into the dungeon and begin picking the cell locks.
Once the alarm is sounded Ellie goes towards Shim's cell. Vodren drinks his potion of mind reading and scrys that he's noticed that Shim hasn't touched thier food. Pressing further he picks up on his conflict with the current situation. Vodren starts to talk to him to convince him to leave Shim's cell alone. He mentions outloud that he doesn't know what to believe or what killing the clerics will do to Qualinost's relationship with the gods. Ryai tells him that if they don't do anything Qualinost could be the next Istar. Ellie however is unmoved and tells the empty cell to make a noise if Shim was in there.
Bomba uses minor illusion and fakes the sound of Shim talking, absolutely throwing Ellie for a loop. Ryai tries to talk to him again, assuring him that while things seem dire and dark, they should still do right by the light.
Ellie asks how they plan to get out of the prison and Ryai asks if he'll keep it secret. Ellie agrees and he shows him the secret passage to the Roseblack. He asks how Ryai knows this and he assures him that he's a little special. It finally clicks for Ellie that he is speaking to Nona, but Ryai corrects him telling him he no longer goes by that name.
Ellie unlocks Ryai's cell, then goes to unlock Broud's to find that it's already been unlocked, along with Bomba's. He unlocks Vodren's and Shim pops back into view with all the important weapons. Ellie allows them to flee as they slip into the Roseblack.
The group enters the rose quartz filled caverns and begin to explore. The vines where they are look like they've adapted to their living conditions, but aren't thriving. Ryai is utterly enamored with the view and takes his time to sketch out the place. Vodren keeps an eye out for tracks. Bomba tries to commune with any potential ghosts, and Shim tries to analyze the geode structure. Broud keeps watch.
Vodren manages to find a set of heavy boot prints marching through.
Shim can't gleam much architecturally since it's a natural formation, but is able to tell where the air is coming from.
Bomba finds surprisingly, no ghosts.
Ryai eventually takes the charge leading them through the caverns towards the air. As they pass, they find a section of vines that are green. Vodren inspects them an finds that they are rather vinegary is taste.
They eventually find the exit and Ryai slips out first. He finds that the exit leads to the edge of the northern bridge towards Darken Wood. Hidden there as well are four Silvanesti elves, supposedly keeping watch. He slips back and tells the group that they can steal a near by boat if they are careful. They all manage to go up and out, rushing the boat. The Silvanesti notice them and call out asking if they are fleeing. Ryai tells them not a chance in hell.
They still think he's Cal.
While on the boat, Ryai reaches out to Aroth with sending. He tells him that the meeting place has changed to the abandoned house outside of town. He responds with why and Ryai has to rest before responding. He agrees and is set to meet them, bringing back up in case they were followed.
They arrive to the abandoned house to see that the front door is still off it's hinges. They head inside and begin to barrel down the hatches. Shim begins to build alarms near the doors to notify them if there are intruders. Broud is estatic to find out the kitchen has raisins and begins cooking. Vodren goes on patrol to make sure they're safe. Bomba begins to investigate.
Ryai sends another message to his father telling him they've escaped. Laith is relieved but has not heard word from anyone else about it. He then rests again, reading the book of Qualinesti law from the Roseblack. While reading, he gets the feeling his ancestor put it there to teach the escapee a lesson.
As Bomba explores the house she enters the master bedroom. She opens a jewelry box to find nothing in it. As she closes it and puts it back a black shadow from lashes out at her, cutting her deeply before disappearing again. Bomba flees back to the rest of the group, showing Broud and Vodren in the kitchen. As Ryai listens to the description from the room over he tries to figure out what it is until he realizes Shim is alone. He rushes to where they're working to see a black cloaked figure standing over Shim, knife at the ready. Ryai slips between the both of them and catches a look at the figure's face. He finds that she is another Silvanesti with cold eyes. She takes off past the two of them to the outside of the house. Ryai yells to cut her off while Bomba, Shim, and him go after her. Vodren slips out the back with his bow ready and Broud grabs the hot frying pan he was using. From the shadows Vodren is stabbed as poison courses through him. As she runs back into the house, he takes a shot at her leg crippling her. The group manages to corner her back into the bedroom. Vodren manages to cut her other leg with his spiritual weapon. She tries to flee out the window again but ends up falling flat on her back. Shim drops the sap bomb on her and she is stuck to the ground. Bomba lands the finishing blow to her, knocking her out cold.
They inspect her things and take her poisons. As they look they find a writ, that gives her authority over any of the gaurds from the heir apparent Paladithel. As Ryai reads the writ, everything begins to click. With Paladithel in the speaker's ear he's convinced him not only let him marry Princess Laurana posthumously, but to knock off the two other princes from succession putting himself as next in line.
They tie up thier would be assassin, putting her in the basement. While waiting for Aroth, Ryai takes the time to search more thoughly through the house and finds a few potions, a book, and midnight pearl earrings.
Aroth arrives and Shim asks him to keep his horse in the back. Shim notices Aroth's hair is flowing despite there being no wind.
As they head inside Ryai recognizes the breeze as a silent stalker. Ryai mentions that they've already had one tonight which peaks the Half-Elf's interest. Broud calls up that the Silvanesti assassin is awake. They go to try and talk to her, but she won't budge. She tries to break her binds, but is caught. She lunges forward in the chair and is tripped. Vodren who's had enough of this puts her down. With the assassin dealt with they begin thier talks with Aroth about what they found.
The group theorizes that since the clerics were nowhere to be found above ground, they must be hidden in the Roseblack. Though the maze of crystals will be hard to navigate to find them on short notice. Also with the revelation that Paladithel is heir apparent, they're convinced that the speaker's days are numbered. Ryai theorizes on the day of the sacrifice that he'll go for the speaker.
Unfortunately with the tree under his control, they knows they can't attack him directly. Aroth suggests calling a red dragon to take out the tree but Ryai and Shim refuse. They talk about taking the Fang of Verdance away from him to see if they can get some sort of control over the tree. With him being surrounded, and thier most knowledgeable source on Paladithel's schedule dead on the ground they decide to try and lure him away during one of his speeches. Aroth says that Ryai had to have good dirt on Paladithel, and Ryai reluctantly agrees.
The reason Ryai left was because Paladithel raped him.
With the revelation, they begin to plan.
Using a minor illusion they will create a vision of Nonasse to catch his attention. And with one of Shim's devices, they can record a message to lure him away from the crowd. Ryai making Shim and Bomba invisible will try and pickpocket the knife away from him once alone.
Ryai and Vodren plan to run back up during the scenario while Aroth will send his silent stalker to attack Paladithel once he is separated.
Before heading off to rest, Ryai sends a final sending to his father, telling him of Paladithel's new position. Laith tells him he just found out himself.
