Creepshow 2019- (Review)
Good evening, Scream Queens and Ghouls,
On tonight's spooky spectacles, I came across a series called Creepshow. Creepshow was born in 1982 as an American horror comedy anthology film. Guess who wrote these stories? The one and only Stephen King. As per Wikipedia; it was later developed as a graphic novella by Penguin imprint Plume in July 1982.
Well, during my late-night hunt for something spooky to watch before my slumber. I came across on the Roku app a brand-new, revisited Creepshow series. If you do not have Roku, you can also find Creepshow on AMC.
Initially, it gave me Goosebumps and Tales of the Crypt vibes, but after being glued to my tv, watching the first episode called, Gray Matter. I was highly disturbed by the tale involving a heartbroken father who caves into alcoholism and turns into something absolutely horrific, and his son is trying his best to help his dad.
Each episode is approximately 20-26 minutes long. If you have nothing to do on a Friday night and looking for a scare, this is the series for you.

Want to learn a little bit about the director of Squid Game?
Good Morning America recently released an interview with the director, Hwang Dong-hyuk. Juju Chang leads the interview with questions regarding his thoughts on the popularity that his series gained and the possibilities of a season 2. If you have ambitions of becoming a film director, this interview will definitely inspire you.
I found the interview very interesting and insightful. I even learned a little bit more about the concepts of each character and the reason why certain things happen within the series. I leave it like that because I don't want to spoil anything.
Take a look and comment what you think.

무궁화 꽃이 피었습니다 Squid Game review
My oh my!
This series left my heart exhausted. Never have I ever felt more anxiety in my LIFE.
I've been hearing a lot about this Korean series called, Squid Game, and it is very deserving of the hype it has been receiving. Before I start talking about the series, I want to throw in a fun fact regarding the director. If you feel like you try and try and never succeed in your goals, director Hwang Dong-hyuk, spent ten years trying to pitch Squid Game to multiple production companies to no avail until he succeeded and now Squid Game is one of the most highly rated series on Netflix.
Squid Game reminded me of one of my favorite horror films called, Battle Royale, where individuals are put in a very dangerous atmosphere in order to win a large amount of money. This dangerous atmosphere is not so great for losers because they are literally ELIMINATED from the game..as in dead.
I recommend watching the series in its native language with English subtitles to really take in the atmosphere and emotions that these characters exhort. You will be definitely sitting on the edge of your seats with this one.
Comment below if you can guess the title of my post.

Plug it Up! Stephen King: Carrie review
It's been a good minute since I've sat down and read a book in less than a week.
What better way to honor the spooky season of October than to crack open a good Stephen King book, I went with Carrie.
Before reading the book, I watched both 1976's Carrie and the most recent rendition 2013's Carrie, starring Chloe Grace Moretz. The book was exciting from beginning to end. I personally believe that neither of the movies captivated my attention as much as the original book. When reading Carrie, we sympathize with the character, Carrie White, as she constantly gets bullied by her classmate and abused by her obsessed Christian mother Margaret White.
One of her classmates, Sue Snell, finally feels guilty about bullying Carrie White and wants to make it right by having her boyfriend take Carrie to prom. Antagonist, Chris Hargensen, has this never-ending hate towards Carrie and organized a bucket of pigs' blood to fall on her as she accepts her crown for prom queen, thus unleashing her full-on Telekinetic powers and almost destroying her hometown of Chamberlain, Maine.
The book was an easy read, highly descriptive, with exceptional dialogues and monologues. I give it a whole 10/10 totally recommend it.

Hey there,
In honor of premiere week for Chucky the Series, I decided to hit up the skatepark Lot 11 for their monthly girls/LGBTQ event Skate Nymphs as everyone's favorite possessed doll. I asked many skaters and photographers about their opinions regarding the Child's Play franchise and most of them were really excited. The photographer who took these pictures was deathly scared of Chucky growing up, but hell! I think I helped her conquer her fears with this one picture.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you might be thinking..."This girl is a bit obsessed with Chucky huh?" The answer is YES!
Also, the event was a skateboarding costume party. What better time to dress as one of my favorite villains and see what people thought about the new series.

Chucky Series: Epi 1: Death by Misadventure review. (Spoiler)
Cleaning up this dusty ol’ Tumblr of mine to talk about the wonders of...CHUCKY THE SERIES!!
Great mother of pearl! What a great first episode, director Don Mancini returns with his original Child’s Play franchise in the form of a television series. Our beloved demonic doll is back and better than ever. The story follows our latest protagonist, 14-year-old Jake Wheeler. Jake has been having a tough time in school ever since we came out as gay, but, walking along his neighborhood, he stumbles on a garage sale and finds a vintage, Good Guy doll (A.K.A Chucky), Jake's original plan is to take the doll and mutilate it for his latest doll based statue. But, when Chucky comes to life to go after Jake's bullies, we are pulled instantly to a cleverly written and gory rollercoaster! Brad Dourif returns to voice Chucky and rumor has it, that we will be seeing returning characters from past movies. I give this episode a 9/10. The acting was amazing, the script was cleverly executed, and most importantly, Don Mancini stayed true to the essence of Chucky. Stay Tuned for reviews for Epi 2!
