TBL's feelings got hurt lol
So apparently The Blacklist Facebook page has been bashed left and right by ALL corners of the fandom for the horrible characterization of Liz, the horrendous Agnes storyline, on top of many antikeen2 and Tom Keen fans…
THOUSANDS of comments on it…
That was, until TBL decided to take their post down bc they apparently can’t take criticism… Lol. I can’t think of anything more immature and equally hilarious. Guess they were embarrassed, of which they SHOULD be!
It’s like they honestly CANNOT see how much they have destroyed their own show and have sacrificed EVERY character for this Agnes and keen2/tom keen redemption bullshit.
Sorry your storylines, characterization, and show have gone to shit TPTB. We TRIED to warn ‘ya. I’ve never seen more delusional and incompetent writers, EP’s, social media staff, etc people in my life.

People are not looking back in the past. It is much more interesting to look forward and to evolve and grow up.
Liz regressed. How can you attract people with this disrespectful, hateful woman who constantly crushed the main character who meant well from the beginning and helped her without expecting nothing in return?
That’s mental torture.
I don’t watch the show since episode 403 and I don’t intend to watch in the future. The Blacklist is over for me: too depressing, too hurtful, too deceiving... I don’t want to be the witness of the show’s sinking anymore.
It is indeed too late... Good bye.

The comments on the official TBL FB page
OMG have you guys seen the comments on the Facebook TBL page?!? The hate for Liz and the amount of pissed off fans is INCREDIBLE!!! Wow what a difference a year makes!!!! @nbcblacklist you are not going to have a show much longer if you keep this shit up!!!

Liz’s mysterious father
As an addition to the wonderful post from iloveredmorethanever, http://iloveredmorethanever.tumblr.com/post/151525222666/lizs-mysterious-father I’d like to add some ideas.
I completely agree that Katarina was refering to a third person, another man, “an American”. We were told, as a mission, she was placed in the life of this man to spy on him, but she felt in love with him along the way. As a double agent, her Agency contact should have been Raymond Reddington who knew the impossible situation she was in. As time goes by, Red became her friend and certainly, her only confident (because she couldn’t tell her husband who was KGB about her affair, could she? That was trahison through both conjugal and political perspectives, with catastrophic consequences for her and Masha).
At one point, Kirk suspected her wife of cheating on him. He spied on Katarina and saw her often with Raymond. The Russian naturally deduced Katarina’s lover was Red.
Constantin couldn’t have suspected someone else. And we know how Red is: if he was infatuated with Katarina in an unrequited love triangle, he had tried to protect and cover her (and her lover who should have to remain anonymous) by taking the entire responsability for the affair. We can be sure of that because Red acted exactly this way with Liz during those 3 past years.
As for this mysterious man to be Liz’s father? It’s quite possible. Early in the episodes on season 1 (did it really happen?), Red told Liz he was with her because of her father. Red was very emotionnal evoking him. We all thought he was talking about Sam. But if it was that mysterious man he was talking about, Liz’s biological father, not Kirk? (BTW interesting comment from Katarina about the family disease not to happen anymore... She knew Masha wasn’t Constantin’s and that he was the last of the Rostov lineage...) Red and that man might have become close friends and developped later some kind of loyalty, leading Red to save Masha/Liz and protect her in the name of this friendship.
Now, who could be that mysterious man?
There is a name that spontaneously pops up in my mind: Howard Hargrave, Susan “Scottie” Hargrave’s husband.
We know very little about him, apart the fact Red and he were close friends. Is he dead? Is he alive? We don’t know for sure... because he’s both.
Remember when Tom was lurking around Susan’s appartment in episode 321? We saw a nurse going out of a room and we heard the sound of an artificial breathing apparatus. I suspect Howard was the unconscious patient lying there, in a coma.
Why a coma? Because Liz shot him the night of the fire. 25 years are a long time, but it’s not impossible he might have survived all this time. After all, he was vitale to Halcyon’s business and Susan knew it strategically.
And it explains too why Tom was kidnapped 25 years ago, approximately at the time when Liz disappeared. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Alexander Kirk was the one to orchestrate this abduction. An eye for an eye. A revenge when Constantin learned the truth, and who was really Katarina’s lover.
And Susan never knew, preoccuped with her husband’s condition.
I like this theory because it marks the uncertainty of Alexander Kirk’s future without a cure to his disease. It marks also why Tom and Liz relationship is doomed (are they half-brother/sister? what a twist! Is only Tom Howard Hargave’s son? and we open on the spinoff with Tom looking for his past).
On the other side, I’m perfectly aware the mysterious man might be someone else we don’t know yet. Time will tell.
As for Red, he’s never admitted he was Katarina’s lover, as Elizabeth thinks he was. It’s all implied. I’ll wait till Red himself acknowledges it aloud. To be honest, I doubt it, based on what we saw in “Cape May”.
Thank you for taking the time to have read this foolishness...

Liz’s Mysterious Father
We know there is a chance that Katarina did have an affair with Red. But let’s look at evidence that maybe it was not Red whom she had the affair with after all. Let’s start with this quote from Katarina’s journal:
“Look at me. In love with a man I was sent to seduce and betray. An American. Raymond wants me to run, take Masha and disappear with him, but how can I do that to her?”
Tumblr media
First remember that throughout her journal Katarina had talked about Raymond. They were obviously very close. So the quote above is very odd. Why did she suddenly switch from using Raymond to saying “An American”? And then Immediately switch back to talking about Raymond? There doesn’t really seem to be a good reason to do this, unless “An American” is not Red, but someone else entirely. Of course this in itself is not enough evidence. But I want to explore this idea further.
Let’s start by looking at the Cape May episode. Red and Katarina made a great team are were very close, no question. But I saw no signs that Red was in love with her and zero signs that they had an affair. He lay next to her to keep her warm after pulling her out of the freezing ocean but so would anyone trying to help out a friend. They did not have any warm touching scenes together except at the end where Katarina touched Red’s face when she told him he did save her through Masha. And Red did not touch her back which is unusual for him as he is a very touchy-feely type of guy, especially with someone he was intimate with.
Tumblr media
Even more importantly, remember what Katarina told Red about her biggest regret about Masha’s father:
“It’s not that he died. It’s not even the way he died. It’s in the things I said to him… just before he died.”
So clearly Katarina believes Masha’s father is dead.
Let’s look at further evidence. Red told Liz that Kirk believes he is Liz’s father and that he needs her biological cells to help combat his disease. Sounds to me like Red does not think Kirk is Liz’s father. And we know that Red is not Liz’s father. He has made that very clear with her. And frankly so have the TBL writers / producers in their tweets, etc. So that is a non-starter for me.
Tumblr media
And the most important clue for me is what Red said to Liz at the end of Episode 01 x 22:
“Lizzie look at me.  I’m telling you with no uncertainty, your father is dead.  He died in that fire.”
And then what Daniel Cerone posted about what Red said about Liz’s father dying in the fire:
Tumblr media
So both Red and Katarina think that Masha’s father died in the fire that night. Kirk is obviously not dead and yes he could have survived the fire unbeknownst to Red. But again, now knowing Kirk is alive Red still implied to Liz that Kirk only believes he is Masha’s father.
Also remember what Kirk told Liz about Red, whom he assumed was the American that Katarina was having the affair with:
“For a time, I thought maybe he was the father, but I have proof that he’s not.”
So yes, Kirk has proof that Red is not Masha’s father. He didn’t say he has proof that he is Masha’s father. We only know that Red is not.
So what do we know now? Red is not Liz’s father. Liz’s biological father is dead according to Red. Which means Kirk is not Liz’s father either. Katarina had an affair and fell in love with “An American”. According to Red Liz knowing who her father really was would put her in danger. Remember this quote from Episode 01 x 22 where Red discusses killing Sam:
Tumblr media
“But I did it to keep you from learning the name of your real father, to protect you. And you must understand – having done that, I’m certainly not going to tell you who he was now. “
My conclusion is that there is a mystery person out there who was Lizzie’s biological father. And this American must have been very powerful. And again there is something special about Liz which is why Red protects her so fiercely.
Thanks for reading!

“Look at me. In love with a man I was sent to seduce and betray. An American. Raymond wants me to run, take Masha and disappear with him, but how can I do that to her?”
I had exactly the same thought. To me, there is another man in the picture. Raymond was just a close friend to Katarina, a sort of confident. Maybe he was her contact and advised her to run away with him, to save them both from the impossible situation she seemed to be, between her husband and her lover?
Episode 04x03 Analysis - Not Bad for Lizzington
So my first time watching this episode, I did not think it was great for Lizzington. But on a re-watch I found some things in the way the dialog was worded that gave me hope. So I will focus on key scenes in this analysis and also the interesting dialog that makes you wonder…..
First, I just have to talk about the graveyard scene with Red and Liz. Red purposely wants to meet her at a grave-site. Ah but which one?:
Tumblr media
He makes sure to point out Liz’s gravestone and makes a comment wondering who is really buried there. A total zing from Red to Liz. I loved that.
But Red is really cold to Liz. Look at how far apart they stand and Red holding his hands behind his back. No warmth from him at all.
Tumblr media
He does however start the dialog about where the danger to her really lies:
“You believe your family’s in danger because of who I am. But what you don’t seem to grasp is your’re also in danger because of who you are.”
They talk further and Liz is the one to make a first move towards him. No response from Red though. Very opposite of how he normally is. Will he ever forgive her?
Tumblr media
I think they will be frosty for a while. At least until they finally have THE TALK and discuss the betrayal and the ramifications of it for each of them. I so want them both to be open with their feelings about this.
Now I want to jump to the last scene between Red and LIz and then save the Katarina journal about the “affair” for last.
In the last scene, Katarina writes that Constantin has a blood disease that has afflicted his family for generations. The only blessing is that this accursed disease is passed from father to son, and that Masha is safe.
So Katarina absolutely believes that Constantin is Masha’s father (or at least a blood relative). This rules out Red as Liz’s father as he is not a Rostov.
Then Red comes by and confirms that Kirk was after Liz because he needs a biological descendant to save his life, a genetic donation from the woman he believes to be his long lost daughter.
Red is not confirming that Constantin is Liz’s father and maybe he isn’t. But if Constantin is a blood relative of Liz he still needs her blood. Or Agnes’s blood. And remember Solomon took a sample of Liz’s blood at the car crash scene after the wedding? Solomon’s group was working for Kirk so he must have brought the sample to Kirk for testing. Because a blood match is what he Kirk after.
But once again Red spells it out for Lizzie. This is the kicker that Liz needs to realize:
Tumblr media
Red is not the bad guy here Liz! In fact I think he was trying to protect her from Kirk. But there is more to this whole story. There has to be something even more special about Liz that Red is so fiercely protecting her from. And it is not that Red is related to Liz at all. But that brings us to Katarina’s journal.
Tumblr media
Let’s look at exactly what Katarina wrote in her journal:
“Look at me. In love with a man I was sent to seduce and betray. An American. Raymond wants me to run, take Masha and disappear with him, but how can I do that to her?”
She appears to be talking about Red as the man she was sent to seduce and betray. But the way this is worded is very tricky. She says she was sent to seduce and betray “An American”. Why not say she was sent to seduce and betray Raymond? She has been talking about him throughout her journal so why be so coy here? Is Red really the American she was sent to seduce and betray? She does not say that. It could be someone else. Wasn’t Red happily married at this time?
Also, did Katarina succeed in seducing this American? We don’t know that for sure either.
She then says Raymond wants her to run, take Masha and disappear with him. Does the “him” in this sentence refer to Raymond or the man she was sent to seduce and fell in love with? I could see either scenario. Red helping Katarina and Masha escape and disappear or Red suggesting Katarina and Masha disappear with the man she loves.
Now worst case scenario - Katarina did seduce and betray Raymond. She was in love with him. No where is it mentioned that Red was in love with her. Maybe he was, but we don’t know that yet. And further, this was not a normal affair. Red was her mark. Katarina was inserted into his life to betray him. He was the victim here.
So personally I still believe in Lizzington even if Red and Katarina had an affair. It was not a normal love affair, but based on seduction and betrayal. And we know Red is not Masha’s father and we don’t need to rehash all those reasons here as we have talked about them many times.
I believe that there is something special about Masha that Red was tasked to protect. And he did protect her from afar until she joined the FBI. But then the unexpected happened. When he saw her as a woman 25 years later, he fell for her. Very hard. And he kind of betrayed her because he let his emotions interfere with his job of protecting her.
So as far as i am concerned, Lizzington is still part of the end-game. There are just a lot of complexities in this story which help make it so compelling.
