TADC EP 5 SPOIELRS AGAIN!!!!!

Now that I’m rewatching the episode I’d like to put in my two cents on the mannequin theory.

I’ll be straight up about it: I think it’s Kaufmo.

OR more minorly I think someone whose partially in the game- someone who hasn’t been registered by the system yet observing those who have

Like someone who is able to exit the Circus/is able to take off the headset, observing the people trapped inside trying to study them or figure out how to save them.

But mostly I think it’s Kaufmo.

Unless you look at gooseworx’s tumblr page where they will occasionally reveal old members of the circus like Queenie and Ribbit And that one time Queenie was mentioned not by name specifically- but indirectly mentioned Point is, only Kaufmo is mentioned by name, by physical image, and we get a briefing on his personality as well. Kaufmo who set up the whole find the exit of the show, as well as how a crazy goes insane here and how it’s probably the closest thing to death there is.

Of course, we never see Kaufmo other than a portrait or drawings before he abstracts - so what if that’s him? What if Kaufmo found a way out of the cellar with the others and it just kind of reset him?

Either way, I have a feeling since Ep 6 is also a Ragatha and Jax centric episode - episode 7 is either going to be about this mysterious character OR it's going to be abt Kaufmo.

And while I'm on the subject of theories -

I briefly mentioned how everyone got to be in the circus in my last post but I want to reiterate my number one theory abt Jax and that is - (no longer that he is a NPC but) that Jax in real life is ill.

Let me elaborate: I have a running gag with some friends Jax's yellow eyes and teeth are a jaundice thing - but now that I'm really thinking about it - a bunny character?

Jax has already mentioned his love that of his avatar, he likes his ears and is genuinely upset to find that he lost his tail in one of the past adventures(I think he lost it when his friend Ribbit abstracted) but there's something else.

Bunny characters always have buck teeth - and yet Jax doesn't.

Now of course, I think he looks waaaay better without that usual rabbit teeth and love his expressions more than any other character - he is the most expressive and the most amusing -

But WHY yellow teeth?

Am I reading too much into this? Absolutely,

But anyhow my solid theory is primarily based off Jax's yellow facial features AND the backstory he choses to lie about. I know he's referencing a show(I think its breaking bad if memory serves) when he mentions having lung cancer - but why that show specifically? Because it's dark, violent, and its a meme now?

It's such a weird opening for Jax to start with him being sick - having lung cancer.

Of course I don't think he has lung cancer - but my theory essentially is: Jax willingly put on the headset to escape into this circus BECAUSE he has a life threatening illness of some kind. Jax knew he was dying, wasn't happy that maybe his illness prevented him from doing physical activities with his friends and when he heard of a world where he can't die or get injured - he was all for it.

Because so far? Jax seems to be the only character who doesn't care that he's trapped in here. Everyone has expressed some distaste for it, Ragatha missing her horses, Pomni and Zooble missing their old bodies and/or lives, Gangle upset she couldn't follow her art dreams(? AGAIN IDK WHY GANGLE IS HERE SHES THE ONLY OUTLIER), Kinger missing his wife but hes too far gone to remember any of the good bits but i defo dont think hes happy to be here- esp considering his wife is dead.

to sum it up:

The mannequin is Kaufmo

and Jax has a life threatening illness outside of the circus - which could also explain why Ragatha's sweet "you can do it! its all gonna be okay!" attitude bothers him so much because he remembers being told that so many times in the hospital

But thats just a theory, a

FOLLOW UP EDIT/THEORY:

DONT FORGET- theres also the "worst thing Jax has ever done" that we will "see with our very eyes"

I used to think it was Jax causing one of the main cast to abstract

but what if it's not

What if it was something Jax doesn't do - but something he did

I think Jax caused his only friend(Ribbit) to abstract. And we'll be seeing a flashback of that.

Spoilers for Ep. 5 of TADC

Staring now:

Just watching it now- definitely fighting to be my favorite episode

Jax has been my favorite since day one and most defo has remained my favorite even now

Can’t wait to find out the lore of Jax and the frog character, why he’s afraid of corn, and most importantly how he actually got here.

We got something from the others kind of?

Kinger worked in computer science or whatever he said in the 3rd episode— kinger was most likely one of the first ppl in the circus and has been there ever since so he put on the headset most likely testing it

Pomni explores abandoned buildings and so does Zooble so both probably put on the headset out of pure curiosity

Ragatha was looking for methods of escaping her life from her toxic mother, most likely finding the headset when looking over a house? Or just willingly putting it on

Gangle is also a gray area cause she went to community college then food service and then… what?

And Jax remains a total mystery- refusing to give up any personal information.

Of course I’m curious about that mysterious mannequin character stalking them but Jax caught my attention thoroughly this episode majorly.

I love him dearly - and I lowkey felt bad that he got turned vegan(ALSO WAS THE ONLY ONE TO REALIZE CAINE ACTUALLY DOES HAVE CONTROL OF THEIR MINDS) and felt bad when he panicked about being a dress cause it clearly made in uncomfortable

so I just got done rewatching all of TADC because of the new ep that comes out in three days And just gotta confirm once again: Episode 4 by far is my favorite. I work in customer service, I go to college hoping for a degree in comic art - and I crash out severely during every shift same as most of the cast did.

But there is one flaw I noticed in the scrip that I wanted to point out. Not because I'm trying to be a hater, or because I think everyone needs to know this and think this ep is bad, no. I wanted to point it out because I consistently make the same mistake in my script writing. To be specific its when Gangle goes to confront Ragatha bout "huffing paint" The dialogue up to this point is perfect and goes great until this interaction Ragatha says something like: "Why are you even in charge? I feel like I'm way more responsible than you." Gangle replies with "Well if you under perform now, you might end up hurt later" And then Ragatha quotes the ragedy anne movie.

You see the problem with this interaciton?

To me, it sounds like Gooseworx thought of this interaction - at least where Gangle mentions hurt and then gooseworx- ragedy anne the musical being their favorite movie is like "omg I know what I can do here" and then realized this doesn't sound great out of context so they needed context for the conversation to take place.

This, again, isn't what makes this ep or the show bad. Its literally my favorite episode and after this moment the dialogue is fine again. I'm just pointing it out because this is somethign I do literally all of the time in my own works, esp my fan fics on ao3. I think of this really dramatic confrontation then I realize I need a scene leading up to it and work around it.

Which most of the time is fine, especially when you can get away with making it sound natural.

This is just one of the rare cases I found it fell a little flat.

THat being said, ending on a positive:

I thought Gangle's monologue about how time doesn't move inside this world/job, "how long has this shift really gone on for?" makes her all the more relatable to me.

and I genuinely believe everyone at least at one point in their lives should work in a customer service job.

I feel like if everyone did: we'd all be alittle nicer/more patient with each other.

Did anyone else say that when Zane’s memory switched was flipped after watching his inventor/father die in front of him—

it could also act as Zane forcing the traumatic memory of watching the only person who he never knew/loved die in front of him into the back of his mind to be forgotten.

Which is why he claims he’s an orphan because the memory of his father’s death was too much for him, he’d rather not have any parents at all.

I did the 5 minute thing with separate total drama ships:

Feel like we as total drama fans don’t talk enough about how Zoey is an extremely good archer.

We first see her when she’s army or commando or warrior Zoey in Revenge of the Island when she’s hunting both Chef and partly Scott

And then later when they were doing leech paint ball Zoey was the last one standing

And in the final episode Mal sucked at aiming while Zoey with a bow and arrow instantly shot down Gwen and Cameron.

My personal headcanon is that she’s an excellent swimmer as well - but it’s not talked abt enough is talented Zoey is when it comes to archery- and she never brings up that skill verbally, only physically displayed during a challenge.

So Zoey doesn’t think much of it, probably because she doesn’t seem to think much of herself as in ROTI she’s very insecure about what other people think of her, though she kind of gets over this in All Stars which I appreciate

But it’s weird how no one, not even Mike, questioned her about it.

Was she always interested in archery? Did she go to a summer camp? She doesn’t any have awards or pictures in her room in her audition tape.

Point is, I’m in love with Zoey and I feel like we should remember she is canonically a very good shot.

Some headcanons I have abt the alters- regarding Mike’s alters

Manitoba and Vito do not get along. There’s few things they do agree on but Manitoba’s huge ego is something that seriously irks Vito.

Manitoba doesn’t understand Svetlana’s accent, at least that’s what he claims.

Manitoba was humble upon his arrival in the headspace but after the first 24 hours he immediately assumed his position as someone who knows best- which pisses Vito off even more. As Vito acts as primary protector.

Svetlana is 16, Mal is 17, and Mike is also 17. However with Svetlana’s bubbly and competitive personality she is often considered a little.

Those three have the most in common (unfortunately) as they are closer in age but arguably Mike gets along with Svetlana while Mal still feels like an outsider.

Vito is extra protective over Svetlana seeing as she is considered a little and also the only woman in the system.

Chester has the same triggers as he does in the show- or very similar when it comes to irritating situations and whenever Mike is in way over his head (esp at his age) and Mike may wake up on the wrong side of the bed or just can’t deal with stuff, “bitter Chester” comes in and takes the weight off his shoulders.

Mal’s real name isn’t Mal. In fact he never told the others real his name except for Chester. (Chester knows- or he did. But because of his age, he lowkey forgot) the kids in Juvie called Mike the Malevolent One as a running gag and Mal liked it so much he shortened it and took on “Mal” as a nickname.

Mal’s real name is “Dominic”. Which is what Vito calls the Mal puppet in EP. 11 of All Stars

Anyway with that in mind- back to Svetlana in my own personal headcanon she’s lowkey crushing on Cameron but is insanely subtle about it not even anyone in the system knows.

But for my Zotlana fan - I also drew something with Svetlana admiring Zoey’s back muscles.

Hello and welcome to my personal headcanons for the scars that the ninjago crew

Minus Nya because I couldn’t come up with a creative water based scar for her atm

But I imagine it would be located on her back or biceps.

Anyway-

Jay as a lightning strike going down the side of his neck

Coke has that ghost scar we see in a few seasons and then never again for some reason

Zane doesn’t have any bodily scars because he is a nindroid but I do imagine he has some frost burn or mind of etched in there frost patterns he’d have to run under fire or hot water in order to get rid of

And then you had Kai’s body that is absolutely demolished with first, second, and very MINOR third degree burns

I honestly always thought Zane was lowkey Wu’s favorite- If not his favorite for the same reasons he cares abt Cole then for the opposite reasons.

Right now, prioritizing the fact/idea Wu most likely had no idea Zane was also robot — Wu defended Zane from the other ninja at first when they were unsure of him, thinking he was weird and a not a reliable friend to have. He believed in Zane’s odd behavior as something that is not considered normal to others but is still good.

We see a lot of Wu finding something special in Zane— as he took it upon himself to introduce the boy to the others with the gift of foresight/prophecies. Something we know Wu has experienced a small amount before.

Knowing this about Zane, Wu most likely wanted to keep a close eye on him for these reasons- as we see Zane dreams of his last rather than the future and then in later seasons foresaw the rise of Aspheera.

When Zane first sacrificed himself/his life for his friends/brothers it leaves a heavy toll on all of them- so not touching on that.

But,

Especially when Aspheera does away with Zane, Wu is absolutely heartbroken by this. He says that Zane was nothing but a kind and good soul who only wishes to protect others and to have him meet such a fate that was meant for Wu upset him gravely he was willing to go to the dimension with no way back for his student.

The last thing that kind of proves if not his ABSOLUTE favorite then definitely high up there is the fact that Wu’s spirit or soul? Or something? In Dragon’s Rising specifically sought out Zane when he was in a setting of just comatose I guess.

He sought out Kai and Nya to go rescue Zane- like it was a crucial part of the mission that couldn’t wait any longer. And Wu could’ve helped the others find each other - but specifically he went looking for Zane.

You could also say that oh well Wu didn’t know where Jay was (which I doubt) or that no one needed to find Cole because he was exactly where he needed to be.

And finally I think you could say that Cole and Zane aren’t total opposites but different enough that they could both be Wu’s favorite? Zane while not knowing most expressions or getting most jokes definitely gave Wu a good sense of relief and weight off his shoulders.

Zane took everything seriously, he meditates regularly in his spare time, he trains, and he’s the biggest voice of reason aka the smart one. On top of his cold stature as a robot/serious one and the elemental master of ice— Wu admired Zane’s kindness. That almost worrying self sacrificing kindness and gentleness that he showed in most if not every living thing.

And my other “argument” was Cole’s favorite was Wu more so than the other way around.

Cole was the one who looked for Wu after what happened with the twin time elemental masters, Cole was the one who technically raised baby Wu, Cole was the one who kind of motivated master Wu to join them at the cloud kingdom, there was many special moments - and especially if Cole was the first ninja Wu trained out of the group.

Those two undoubtedly have that special connection with one another-

Maybe Cole is Wu’s favorite, purely by emotional standards, but there’s just something about Wu’s faith and admiration towards Zane that comes as a close second.

I know ppl joke about Cole being Wu's favorite student (since he was the first one of the four to be trained and such), but do you think

Another thing I’m sure has been long established but just in case anyone missed it.

From the Ride the Cyclone musical,

Jane Doe’s lion monologue/catchphrase when she is introduced, is her explaining “what really freaks me out”- as in telling Constance what she didn’t want to hear anyway.

But there’s more to it, if we look at the lion monologue:

“When a lioness has children, she stops making love to the lion. The lion gets jealous. Sometimes so jealous he eats the children. You would think this would upset the lioness - far from it. They make love again like the children never existed. I find that idea terrifying.”

In reality, Jane’s biggest fear isn’t the way lions live—

The lion and lioness are parents, making them mother and father.

It’s bringing the idea that when Jane died as a child- her parents didn’t mourn her. No one claimed the body so no one misses her.

It’s the idea that while she rots and perishes- her parents are going to have another child, or another daughter and replace her.

We see this later proven in the Ballad of Jane Doe when she sings; “And I'm askin', "Why, Lord?" If this is how I die, Lord, Why be left with no family and no friends? I've got no celebration. Just this consolation. Time eats all his children in the end… no singing songs of celebration, just this sorry speculation …” etc.

Her biggest fear on top of her parents of all people moving on with another child is that no one can tell her that she was something special.

If we’re focusing especially on “the lion gets jealous, sometimes so jealous he eats the children.”

It’s also evidence for the fan theory that maybe Jane’s father had something to do either with the cyclone accident or specifically her beheading.

In case you’re wondering what exactly I find wrong with dragon rising (so far, I’m only on season 2 ep. 1)

Yes, so far, literally everyone has been severely nerfed.

As it used to be (and in my opinion) the scale of the strongest ninjas/characters were

1. Kai

2. Llyod

3. Nya(interchangeable with Zane, but she can also control ice even if it’s never mentioned again)

4. Zane (interchangeable with Nya)

5. Cole

6. Jay (Jay fans don’t get pissed at me, yes Jay is strong but he lost against Cole, Zane grows stronger before the other ninja do consistently, almost got murdered by Kai, Nya drained the water from his lungs with a thought, and Llyod just has everyone’s elemental abilities)

What’s irritating me most besides Jay not being present and lost

Is how Llyod is having visions when that’s literally lowkey Zane’s whole deal.

He’s introduced with the gift of foresight, has visions of his past, about Asphera and the never realm, and just never again.

How I would love it if when sora was like “well just because you saw it in a vision doesn’t mean it’s gonna come true”

And Zane was like “actually that’s exactly how it works”

Like why did Llyod confide in Erin when Zane literally has been established to have visions

And don’t get me wrong- I wish Zane told Master Wu about his never realm visions but regardless

The bond between all the OGs is something I wish I was seeing more in the newest series.

OKAY PAUSING FROM MY TD ZOEY + MIKE SHIT

I’m getting in the dragon rising series finally after rewatching/binging the og ninjago series (hi my favorite is Zane thank you)

And I’ve been getting the most toxic energy from Cole fans - the toxic part? The idea that Cole might be a gay character and that’s terrible.

So first of all, you’re homophobic.

There’s ppl who claim that they’re not they just don’t want their favorite character to be gay.

Hey so guess what that’s internalized homophobia. You think just because a character is gay suddenly they’re annoying, suddenly it’s all about their sexuality, suddenly they’re nerfed or whatever.

THATS HOMOPHOBIA

Nothing is wrong with Cole being gay— and if he’s dating Geo?(the character he’s speculated to be in love with?) I THINK THATS AMAZING

Some people forget the friendship/bond Cole has built with Jay is pretty damn close to his bond with Geo.

Also. His name is Geo.

And Cole is the elemental master of the earth.

Isn’t that actually the cutest thing ever?

It’s not even that the two don’t have chemistry either.

They have A LOT of chemistry just by first glance. Geo and Cole take care of the kids in the lost island, they’re both elemental masters, live in the same house, and Cole DECIDED to stay on the lost island when he could have easily gone back home purely because he wanted to protect Geo and the kids that lived there, NOT TO MENTION Cole’s powerful rock monster? He can only do it with Geo’s help, When Geo tells Cole to get a head start on running away the hoarder- Cole doesn’t bat an eye because he trusts Geo to take care of himself and when Nya asks if Geo is okay— Cole poses proudly and just tells her to watch.

I haven’t gotten to the part where they apparently hold hands or whatever—

But they are peak couple material so far this reasons esp with Jay being MIA and missing his memories.

So once again, if you think the sole reason Dragon Rising has its problems is only because of Cole MAYBE being gay— he’s not even canonically confirmed to be gay btw— then you’re just flat out homophobic and there’s no space for that in the ninjago community.
