I'm a sucker for the idea that after Chuck is defeated and once Michael and Adam are reunited Michael just leans heavily into the protective trope, bordering on possessive.
Of course they have their initial rush of emotions when they first reunite but slowly about a week after everything is resolved Adam starts noticing that Michael insists that they don't leave the house which, yeah that's strange, but Michael never been one for interacting with any other human aside from Adam, so he shrugs it off.
But he also notices that Michael's been getting touchier lately, Michael's never really been big on physical touch and yet Adam finds that whenever he's making something in the kitchen Michael's always right there hugging him from behind. Or when they're watching something late at night on the couch, they no longer sit just next to each other like they usually would, now their cuddling in every cuddling position that was ever made. When Adam goes to bed, Michael joins him instead of his usual 'doing other things until Adam wakes up' thing. Now he crawls into bed with Adam and holds him tightly, as if he was afraid that if he let go then Adam would fall out of his grasp forever.
Adam hasn't felt this kind of warmth since he was a kid and would crawl into bed with his mother when he had a nightmare, so he accepts it and rolls over to hold onto Michael as well. Michael shifts and pulls Adam's legs up by the thigh and around his waist, willing to be even closer to his Adam. He wraps his arms all around the humans torso and tucks his face into Adams neck breathing in his pulse, knowing that he's alive and protected by Michael. As Adam falls into unconsciousness Michael opens his eyes to watch the man breath deep and slow breaths into the silence of the night. Adam looks so peaceful, so innocent and...so breakable. His mind wanders into thinking about loosing Adam again, having him be taken away somewhere Michael can't reach, having the skin of his flesh be tortured and filled with suffering pain when he shouldn't ever have to suffer, having him be killed
Without realizing, Michael tightens his grip around Adam.
Silently, Michael promises to never allow anyone, no matter how powerful, to take his Adam away ever again. He brushes the hairs that fall onto Adam's face back and places his lips on his forehead in a gentle kiss. How Michel wishes to keep him here like this, to bask in their shared love together until everything ends.
But alas, Adam does eventually have to wake up. That little job of his makes him so happy, and that's all Michael now wants, Adam's happiness.

The ironic part of Zachariah saying that Adam wasn’t really the chosen one is that HE LITERALLY WAS!! Adam was Michael’s first act of free will. Michael CHOOSE Adam over Dean. He could have easily kept going after Dean but no! He took Adam instead, even though as Gabriel put it - SINCE THE BEGINNING they knew that it was supposed to be Sam and Dean. Michael just said fuck that the rules don’t apply to me

"gone. im sorry to say. exterminated by my father like everyone else."
"like everyone else."
no but the way michael says that, it sounds like adam was so special, and he can't believe adam would be killed along with the rest of humanity.

i love team free will 2.0 because i've never seen such a dysfunctional group of individuals try so hard to convince themselves they're family.
like... ALL of you have tried to kill one another at least once. you all would die lying to each other rather than just communicating. the thing that brought you four together was lucifer, and the only thing keeping it from crumbling is a mutual disdain towards god.
and then they go around like "i have a family" and "family first" as if they didn't forgot about the half-brother locked up in a cage in hell.

i don’t remember if i’ve properly spoken about this before (i might’ve put it in the tags of a post or something?) but like….there’s this LOOK that michael gets, right before he trades off control of the body to adam in front of the winchesters for the first time, right after he smiles in that smug way of his (after he goes “tell him”)
Tumblr media
(gif by @harritudur, because all of her gifs are lovely and do an amazing job of capturing adam and michael!) but it deadass looks as if michael’s staring sam down like “so help me god if you upset him i will MURDER you.” the smile falls off his face for just a moment and his eyes get just a little wider. it’s very small, and very subtle, but it’s there.
and sure enough, the second adam looks like he’s starting to get emotional after he stated he wanted an apology, michael takes over, and he’s fucking pissed. and considering it was shown both earlier with lilith and later before dean’s apology that the transition from adam to michael (and vice versa) can be smooth and hardly noticeable, it sort of makes you wonder what the hell adam was thinking that got michael so seemingly angry on his behalf. because adam’s face really didn’t change all that much after he asked for it, not as much as we’re used to characters’ features changing (adam’s been proven to have a very good ability to keep a calm face even during situations that aren’t ideal). but the second he looked even a little sad,
Tumblr media
michael took over.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and he just got straight to the point after that. no more calling them stupid, no more sitting there listening to their excuses, he was just “enough. why am i here?”
it’s like…..protective much? as if we didn’t already know that from the lilith scene lmao

i'm sure this has already been pointed out but in s15e08 when adam and michael are reintroduced the parallel between chuck and michael interacting with a waitress drives me insane.
at the beginning of the episode, you see chuck interacting with the waitress serving him. he's threatening her, forcing her to do his bidding, and has killed everyone else in the casino. chuck is using his incomprehensible amount of power to not only achieve minuscule tasks, but to scare and kill humans while doing it. he's a ruthless overlord who knows how to humiliate and torture humans and takes pleasure in it.
but then you get to michael and adam's scene in the diner. while adam is in control, naturally he is caring towards his waitress and humans around him. even after over 1200 years in the deepest parts of hell, adam still has his humanity. he hasn't lost that; in fact, he only taught what humanity means to his counterpart, michael. while michael is in control of the body, he smites lilith. and while we know he has the ability to do that to every human in the diner as well, it's probably even easier to do, michael saves every single life in that diner. he goes out of his way to protect every human there and to only erase their memory of the smite, instead of simply killing everyone around and hiding all evidence he was ever there in the first place.
michael saves humans even at an inconvenience, while chuck deliberately goes out of his way to harm them. michael has grown far away from who he used to be, chuck's perfect son.

karma is sam & dean being haunted by their few years in hell while adam came out after a literal millenia happily married and better than ever.

i just know adam romanticized a freezing, whiteout minnesota winter while in the cage because he was just so homesick. he was slowly losing his memories of snow days out of school and building tunnels through the snow as a kid for hours on end. only coming back inside, head to toe drenched, when his mom would call for him that dinner and a hot chocolate was ready. adam would relay these memories to michael in the cage to keep them from being forgotten for good. and then adam and michael are all of a sudden free and michael, who could tell just how much these memories of home meant to adam, takes adam up to minnesota in the middle of january for the true, authentic experience.
and adam is grateful for all of five minutes before he's like, "yeah... so back to cairo next or? maybe cancún?"

can't believe people think michael, the all-powerful, human-hating archangel who became this fond, sappy, lovesick mess for this human he happened to get trapped in the cage with, would just completely revert back to his heavenly ways and believe his dad, no questions asked. like no that man was BROKEN and he needed some sense of stability after adam died, even if it came from the man who killed him.

Dean: I love this whole good cop/bad cop thing you two have going
Michael: It's not really a thing. It's more like Adam is nice and I’m not

I'm of the belief that Adam could get literally any being/monster in existence to like him.
Whether it be because of his general aura of Adamness or because of The Archangel Michael standing ominously behind him monitoring the entire interaction while simultaneously threating the wrath of holyfire against whoever Adam is talking to, so the creature more or less has to make the decision of:
Be nice to this random human, 🙄👎🤮
Or Die. 😀😦💀

i love midam sharing a body. i cannot get enough of it. its honestly one of my major dislikes when an author has them in seperate bodies.
no shame to anyone who does like them in seperate bodies, but it is so not for me.
like. that is THEIR body. its THEIR house.
youre telling me, after like 1200 years in the cage, where they were each others only solstice, they arent just a little codependent. they arent just a little bit nervous whenever they're seperate. that they dont find inherent safety and comfort in being able to feel each other's essence at all times.
and thats even before they were forcibly ripped apart by chuck. i cant even fathom how much worse it is after.

i absolutely love jake abel's version of midam cause it's just adam being actually, genuinely insane while michael watches with this deeply disturbed expression.
