I searched for images of the pricing on Manga/comics, however there didn't seem to be many that actually had the pricing on the front so i decided not to include it.

At no point am i using any of these.

This is a test title to use before I decide on an actual title, this was to try out different fonts and determine whether or not I would use them

These are much better and fit my theme.

I added a square border and back to the title and also placed a brand logo at the top.

I added an issue number and a barcode to make it look more like a comic/manga cover.

Revised Idea For Poster Design:

Once I had my outline for this design, I filled it in to create a shadow figure. I added a few highlights to the design, to make the Katanas and the edge of his cape stand out better.

I really like how this was turning out, so I added more highlighting with light grey on the black, to create better detail of the Katanas, with webbing on the handle and light effect on the end of the sheaths. I also like how adding the grey to the small wisp of hair coming out of the hat made a really big difference to the effect of it.

This was the final draft, which I was really pleased with. It has the two Katanas going across ways, behind the character, which was something I really wanted to include. If I had more time, I would have liked to add the arch over the top, with wisps, as I really liked that idea in my initial hand drawn design, and I think it would have finished off the poster nicely.

Poster progress:

I experimented with different backgrounds for my poster, on photoshop. I got pictures of some swords I had drawn on paper, which I had on my blog. I separated them, arranged them into a row and duplicated the row. I then played about with different filters and shaders.

This is the background I chose, and liked. But when it came to putting the poster together, I decided to change to a red background with black swords, as I felt it fit better with the colour scheme of the character.

These are the final two character designs I came up with, I decided to go with the right hand side character, as it fit more with my ideas of what I wanted as I was going though the project.

Here is my final poster design. I was happy I went with the Samurai style hat, traditional Japanese footwear and cloak. I do like the poster, but I feel it could have been better and would have liked to improve it, as I feel I didn't pay as much attention to detail as I could have.

I really, really had my heart set on using the above character in my poster design, so I wanted to have a go at sketching out a rough design, to see how it looked.

Adding Pen Tool To Drawing:

For this I used the pen tool to go over what I had drawn using the brush tool and tidy it up.

Trying To Filter Out AI Art:

AI art is becoming much more prominent with each passing day, I personally can't stand it. Especially when it is all that I can see when I search something, or when it steals the style of drawing of artists without their permission.

It seems that the only way to filter out AI art from google searches is to type "-AI" after your search. They should add a feature in the settings or some sort of filter that you can toggle so that people don't have to type out every word related to AI, so that their results aren't just filled with terrible artwork in plagiarised styles.

I searched through Google's settings a few more times and still found no way to filter out search results so it seems as though this is the only way.

Character Design Practice Continuation:

I finished my second clothing drawing, this time of Itachi's clothes from Naruto. I also added hair to Aizen, using the brush tool, in Adobe Illustrator, for both.

Continuation of Character Design Testing:

Using Adobe Illustrator, I drew some old Japanese/Samurai style clothing, using the brush tool and added previously created heads to them.

I added more detail to the clothing and also added hair to one and a hat to the other.

Here I drew the clothing of Aizen from bleach and added one of the previously drawn heads to the drawing. I also drew a hat for another set of clothing.

Sheet of Eye Drawings:

I drew these eyes from various different sources on paper as practice.

This is a picture of the paper with more eyes added and a list of their sources on the right hand side. I sketched the eyes using a uniball fineliner, using coloured pens and pencils to add any colour.

Out of all the eyes I drew, the one that I struggled most with was the uppermost one on the left hand side. The difficulty arose in getting the top part smooth, as it seemed that no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get the line good and it would always go inwards or outwards so I spent a long time trying to get it right. I eventually managed to get the line right, however it made me forget that there was another part inside the actual eye that needed to be pink instead of green and I accidentally coloured the whole thing green. This led to me drawing a smaller version underneath it to show it with the pink.

My favourite result is the eye of Rouge the bat from Sonic, which, again, has a green iris, with two feather like lines going out to the side. I felt it turned out well, and the shading I added, by pencil, worked well.

Drawing on Photoshop:

I liked this drawing and changed the head shape and skin tone of the character on the left (Saitama from One Punch Man) to be more lemon-like since I was struggling to get the head shape right. If I could change something about this I would probably make the character on the right (Tatsumaki) slimmer and adjust her collar. I would also make her skin tone less grey as, after looking at it for a while, it does not quite have the colour I was looking for when drawing.

Face and Hair Practice:

For these drawings I used references from images of Megumi Fugishiro from Jujutsu Kaisen, to practice drawing hair in different ways. Using the Adobe Illustrator, I first used the Blob Brush tool to draw the hair for the top three heads. I then used the Pen tool to draw the next three. The screenshot shows the different layers I created to enable me to produce these.

For these eyes I used the Pen tool to create the upper part, and the Blob Brush tool to draw the rest of the eye, I then began to add them to faces which I drew with the Pen tool.

I finished adding the eyes to the faces I had drawn, and switched some of the brush strokes to experiment making them look more like they were hand drawn.

I used the Pen tool to trace Megumi's face and duplicated it to add hair. I then added the hair on to the heads using the Pen tool.

I then added eyes to the heads to show a range of expressions, moving them lower and higher on the faces.

Developing my design:

Above are the first designs I drew on this sheet of paper, they are poses to consider for my poster .

These are continuations on the sheet. Different fighting poses, using the guide on Youtube I watched. The link for the guide is in another post.

I really liked this design, however I think that if I were to redo it, then I would change either the direction that the hanging talisman are angled, or the direction that the cloak and wisps are flowing. I think the circle I placed round the character gives a logo like feel, which could be used on a front cover of a book, or on my poster.

I prefer this design to my other ones. Although the simplicity works well in shadowing, I feel as though I could add more detail to it but I would not know where to add it. Perhaps something in the distance, that the character could be looking at.

This is my most detailed drawing, it currently is not fully finished as i need to change the hair colour slightly and add some other details.

These are on the more detailed side of my drawings even though neither of them use colour. My favourite one is the one on the right.

Pou:

This is a less detailed drawing, however there are elements of some detail in it.

Konosuba:

This is a drawing I didn't put much effort into and did on some lined paper I found. It isn't very detailed.

Hunter X Hunter:

This is one of the most detailed drawings I have done and I like how it turned out.

Fairy tale for the Demon Lord:

This drawing is very much unfinished but will be one of my more detailed drawing once I decide to finish it.

Pikmin:

This is a lower detail drawing which I didn't spend much time on.

Fate Apocrypha:

This drawing is not very high detail and is unfinished.

Overwatch:

These drawings are not very high detail, except for the first two, which I put the most effort into. I don't think i can choose a favourite out of these drawings.

FFF-class trashero:

This is my favourite drawing I have done. Even though it is less detailed than other drawings, I still put a lot of effort into it.

Bocchi the Rock:

This drawing is more detailed than some other drawings here but not as high quality as others, I like this drawing.

Assorted Characters:

This drawing is multiple in one, all of the drawings on the paper are quite low detail since the paper isn't very large and they had to be small enough to fit.

Jojo's Bizarre adventures:

These drawings are on the more detailed side of the styles that I like to draw. I do like them though, especially the first drawing which is of Nut King Call.

One Piece:

The first two of these drawings are less detailed than the next three and I would have to say that my favourite ones would be the third and fourth ones.

Naruto:

I'm not too happy with how these ended up, it was most probably because of the angle that I was drawing at and that because of this i didn't try very hard on the shading.

Jujutsu Kaisen:

These drawings are some of my favourite ones, they are mostly simpler, with only the last three using any colour. My favourite one would be the first, with the third in close second.

Bleach:

These are more complicated than most of my other drawings, and two out of the three have colour. however, even though the last one has no colour i still put more effort into it than the other two and was happier with the outcome.

Chainsaw man:

These are more detailed than other drawings on here, however, they are also less detailed compared to most other drawings on here. My favourite would be the one on the right even though i messed up the floor background.

Nier Automata:

The first two drawings of these are definitely in the lower detail section of my drawings, however the third drawing is much higher detail but could have gone better in my opinion. My favourite would be the Second one.

King God Castle:

Neither of these drawings are fully finished as I don't currently have the right colours, however they are definitely in my most detailed drawings. My favourite is the first one.
