I have no idea if you’ll respond but do you think ash is a Mary sue? I love ash and I can see where people are coming from when they say that but the ending happened so lol

Thanks for the ask, I do respond just very rarely because I’ve been busy and then I just forget.

To make this really short, no I don’t think he’s a Mary Sue.

There are definitely some aspects of Ash that are… perfection to the point of fantasy (the 200iq) so I can see why this label can get attached to him. But as you mentioned, the ending itself takes him out of the category. He does make mistakes, he’s not infallible.

The other thing is that the label, Mary Sue, is a pretty controversial one. Not everyone is going to agree on a definition so if someone calls him that I’m not going to be up in arms. He absolutely can be good-at-everything to the point of being a bit annoying at times.

The Great Pumpkin Sees All Translation

Wow, it’s been a full year since I’ve translated this chapter, and it’s only reaching the Yoshida-loving masses now. When I was in high school and spent the bulk of my time reading scanlations on dubiously legal websites, I used to think the translation groups that dissolved because “real life got too busy” were just being lazy. I was naïve, to say the least. A special thanks to @asnowperson for doing the typesets for me. I really, really hate typesetting.

This is the final one-shot in the Garden of Dreams and Other Tales collection. It is another sports themed one (my goodness, does Yoshida love a good jock). The themes of sibling-rivalry and love are touching though.
