Hello there! 

I’m Ellie and I’m restarting the state of my simblr! I’m trying to seriously dedicate myself to my blog this time and actually finish a storyline, but in the meantime I’d love to make more mutuals/friends who are also into the sims!

I plan on posting a short prequel story/gameplay for my decades challenge that is set in the regency era, as well as lookbooks and other general simblr things.

Although my blog will be primarily historic based, I love seeing other type of simblrs as well! So please, if you’re an active simblr, like/reblog and maybe we could be friends! ヾ(＾-＾)ノ

30-day Couple Challenge: Day 0

Right here we go!

The couple I am choosing is my OCs, Jamie Gray and Hal Wiley. I'm trying to write a book on them (emphasis on trying) and it mostly takes place in 1860s America.

Quick character introductions below the cut :D

Hal (1841-1915)

Henry Peter Alexander Wiley IV (aka Hal) is the third child and first son of a prominent New York City newspaper owner. He develops chronic fatigue syndrome at age 18, which basically means he gets very tired very easily. Hal's closest childhood friend was Jamie Gray, and eventually their relationship grew to something more romantic. Just when they decide to run away together, the America Civil War breaks out and Jamie enlists (Hal's illness prevents him from joining him). They are reunited in 1862 when Jamie is shot in the leg (later amputated) during the Battle of Antietam, causing Hal to a fucking house and move Jamie there to recover. Past this I kind of have not figured out their plot past my boys grow old and happy together <3

Edward James Gray (nicknamed Jamie) is the second son and child of Andrew Gray, who struck it rich when Jamie was young, during the gold rush. Jamie grew up very much in love with his best friend Hal, and was devastated when Hal went off to boarding school in London. Later, when the American Civil War starts, Jamie enlists (mostly to get away from his abusive father). At the Battle of Antietam, Jamie (by then Lieutenant Gray) is shot in the leg, which later has to be amputated*. You already know the rest, he moves in with Hal and they live happily ever after yay :D

(in these screenshots Jamie always looks vaguely confused and it is Very Accurate lol)

*Jamie usually uses crutches after this, but sadly in the Sims 4 there aren't very many antique-looking crutches so most of the time J is using this prosthetic leg from TSR

Hello!!

I know I've been away for uh. a while. but I am back for at least *checks watch* one day!!

however, I'm taking a slight break from the Tate Legacy and istead doing a 30 day lookbook challenge! The original challenge is by the lovely @shoobysims and it was made historical by the wonderful @moon-simmers!

(I am going to be editing it slightly to fit more with my interests)

The rest of 1765 passed in a blur.

Like Charley had predicted, the Stamp Act didn't impact the Tates all too much. Yes, he caught word of protests in Boston and York City and up and down the colonies, but no such thing occurred in Henford-on-Bagley. The townsfolk went on with their lives, the only change being that they bought less books and paper.

So the year was one of peace and rest. Nothing very notable happened, and that was perfectly alright. Nothing notable mean nothing wrong.

Soon enough, Caleb started school. Every morning during term he and Xan would awake before the sun rose, hurry to do their chores, gulp down breakfast, and start the walk to the schoolhouse.

The headmaster's name was John Bell, the same professor Xan had had when he had started school. Headmaster Bell was strict, and quick to assign extra work or hand out punishments. And his punishments hurt.

Xan didn't mind this - he never got in trouble, anyhow. He and his friend Chris Randolph sat in the front row, where they were always raising their hands and starting discussions about the lesson. Xan, to the dismay of most of his classmates, sometimes even asked for extra work - work he didn't have to do!

Cal, on the other hand, couldn't care less about school. He liked to read, sure, but in his own time, not when the teacher said so. His grades were only average, no matter how much Xan tried to get him to work harder. Cal's favorite part of the school day - if it could be called that - was recess, when he got to play with his friends Philip and Peter Ross, whose father owned a farm near the Tates'.

Isaac, Rose, and Lucy were talking on the sofa one day in late March of 1765 when Charley came in with a letter. He was reading as he walked into the room, coming to a stop by the fireplace. Once finished reading, he let out a long breath.

"Father, what are you reading?" asked Rose.

Charley hesitated, then slowly said, "Parliament has passed an act. The Stamp Act. All paper products must be printed on stamped paper, specially made in London, and costing extra money.

Isaac raised his head, and he and Charley shared a look.

"Rosie, take Lucy, will you?" Isaac handed the toddler to Rose - who began tickling her mercilessly - then stood and walked over to Charley.

"Stamp Act?" he whispered, so as not to let the girls hear. "What does that mean for us?"

"Nothing terrible," said Charley, though he didn't seem so sure. "We'll just have to refrain for buying so many books, is all."

"And cards. And paper."

"Yes. But look on the bright side - our king is finally putting his foot down, telling us colonists that we are, in fact, Englishmen, and under his rule, despite being separated by sea."

Isaac nodded, but he was still thinking about their finances, already threatening to plunge.

Charley was still talking. "Some fool is going to protest, and that fool shall be killed, and then all of the colonies will rise up. Mark my words, Isaac, it will happen."

Little did Charley know how close his own family would be to the chaos.

A snowy day in early 1765

Lucy's first birthday rolled around in early 1765.

She looked quite like Eleanor, but with Charley's brown eyes.

Although Lucy had been quite a calm infant, her wilder side was starting to show as she began toddling around. Lucy-Goosey, as Charley tended to call her, especially loved playing out by the chicken coop, where she made many friends.

As the current baby of the house, Lucy was a bit spoiled by her parents, but none of her siblings minded very much. After all, she was very cute.

Excerpt from the diary of Rose Tate, Christmas Day, 1764:

Dear Diary,

To-day was very nice. It snowed too much to go to Church, which was sad, but Father made it up by reading us the Bible, specifically the Birth of Christ.

Eleanor and Sophia and I have been preparing the meal for ages, and this morning we finally got to eat it. It was delicious, if I do say so myself. By the time we finished eating dinner it was nearly Night, and we all went into the Hearth room.

Cal and Xan finished several chess matches while Sophia played her violin (she really is quite good); and when the boys were done Xan came over and sat with me on the floor while Cal and Isaac danced.

I'll admit feelings of Warmth came over me, as it did us all, and I hugged Xan from behind and told him I loved him. He laughed, but I know he loves me too. Similar whispers came from Charley, who was holding Little Lucy.

All in all it was a very good Christmas. I would have enjoyed some Gifts, like Chris says he gets each year, but I understand that Father is poor and cannot afford them.

It was snowing as we all went to sleep - well, most of us went to sleep. I suspect Eleanor and Father were otherwise occupied...

But, Diary, a Merry Christmas to you. All is Peaceful and Calm here on the Tate Farm, as I hope it shall always be.
