So, you want to make a fursuit. You get all the materials, spending hundreds of dollars. Then you realize. Shit, I don’t have a head bust, and I don’t want to spend 65+ dollars on one. Well, here is my solution. NOTE: Use these for balaclava and foam bases only. You will need: A roll of aluminium foil. One or two rolls of duct tape. Scraps of other stuff to stuff the dummy. Old scissors you are willing to make dull. OPTIONAL: Hot glue for gluing to a cardboard base. A friend. A bald cap.

Amount of money spent: Nothing. Almost every sewing enthusiast already has all of these supplies.

Other notes: This project can be done alone. I did not use a bald cap because I have knowledge in hairdressing and I can easily fix any accidentally chopped hairs. If you fear accidentally cutting your own hair, use a bald cap. The head base will be slightly larger than your head by about one inch.

So, how was it made? First, wrap some aluminium foil around your head tightly. Add eyeholes and a mouth hole. Continue to wrap until packed well. Now wrap your head in duct tape as if you are patterning a base. Carefully cut yourself out of the duct tape and foil using your old scissors. Fill the mold with your stuffing material. Make a neck out of foil the same way you made the base and attach. Duct tape bottom closed and attach to base if wanted.

Now you have yourself a cheap base for your suit projects!
