Pure Ice Nail Polish Review!

As some of you know, I am a member on the site Influenster and now and then I do challenges they post to try and win awesome prizes. This is one of those. The contest was to go to Walmart, pick up some Pure Ice nail polish, and do a mani and review on it. Luckilly, as I personally bought my own items I could pick my color choices and I feel I can give a good honest review on the products! Now, I'm going to admit....I generally go out of my way to avoid shopping at Walmart, for my own reasons, but this time I figured Id make and exception. I found the display and these polishes are seriously only $1.97....that's nuts!

I picked up the colors "Home Run" a light opaque sea-foam green and "Over You" a multi shape glitter polish. I expected this brand to be a "several coat" polish being so inexpensive but I was pretty surprised that after only one coat of "Home Run" I could tell it wouldn't need more than 2. This is only one coat:

I was SHOCKED, to say the least. Two coats for that opaque and beautiful finish? For a less than 2$ nail polish?! Whoa.... Pure Ice you got my attention. Not to mention it dried LIGHTING FAST....seriously...I couldn't believe it. Playing around with the Glitter Polish "Over You" I discovered that this is seriously PACKED full of glitter, you don't go fishing for the bigger glitter bits to embellish your nails, they are so balanced in the bottle that every nail gets amazing amounts of micro and chunky glitter, and again, it dries lightning fast.

I am thoroughly impressed. This was an eye opening challenge for me for sure!  Thank you Pure Ice and Influenster for turning me on to such a great inexpensive brand! For a chick who ruins manis on a daily basis at least I can afford to keep them painted with this brand! Haha •      I WAS NOT COMPENSATED FOR THIS POST; HOWEVER, I AM CREATING THIS POST AS PART OF A CONTEST (And because I really do want to share this item with you guys!)

In January I was a Winner during Birchbox's "Subscriber Sunday" promo and its been quite a strange ordeal to say the least. My "Prize" was finally delivered to me this week (first week of May) and it was actually Men's Shaving products....which I still find strange. But no worries, still a neat prize and we all know I have men who will use it!

OOOOOH! It is far from the last time I say this I am sure but man I love my husband. We were at the mall today and the Made In Oregon store is moving so a lot of their items are on clearance. He bought me this Pacifica set that normally sells for $27.95 for $13.99!!! If anyone knows Pacifica this box easily retails for over $30 if you buy the items independently and I LOVE this smell.

Inside the kit was a full sized Body Butter, a full sized roll on perfume and a deluxe size (double what I find in most stores) body wash!

Pacifica has popped onto my radar lately as they are a 100% vegan  company that many of my friends love. After trying their body butter I totally see what the hype is about! The lotion leaves no film but leaves your skin feeling SO very soft! I can't wait to try the body wash too. Excellent find!

So I have always liked an Elven-inspired look and I have been discovering that that look comes pretty naturally to me when I play down my eyeshadow and go with more subtle tones. My hair is allready so vibrant that I don't always have to compete with it. I felt super pretty today! This was another Mary Kay make over from my #MKGlam vox box from Influenster *I was encouraged to do more than one look to review*

My husband is so sweet, he bought me at least a month of Lip Factory makeup subscription for Mothers Day to try out. <3 This month is going to be super makeup heavy! I also have Ipsy, Birchbox, Starlooks and Rainbow Honey coming this month.

Oh Hey! I made a review video! This was for the Influenster Mary Kay vox box I got to try and review. For anyone curious, Influenster is a review program where you get free products to try/test and they only thing they ask is that you review the products (HONESTLY) *I am in no way endorsed by either company to talk lies or be "commercial"* to stay active and continue getting items to try. Because of my interest in beauty/cosmetics I qualified for a Mary Kay themed box. The contents were in total $130 worth of makeup/makeup items that I got 100% free (even free shipping) and I am more than happy to do a review as a thank you. I actually hope to start doing more review videos of various products I like or makeup subscriptions but I need to get a bit more confident >.> I'm not exactally shy, but I am totally afraid I come off as very animated and annoying on camera. Please feel free to give me feedback on either the items or my video. <3

How I got this look. All the items on ma face were complementary from Influenster and Mary Kay. (over $130 in free full sized products, yay!) I was skeptical of this brand and not expecting to like it, but I was very very surprised! Mascara is Lash Love I <3 Black: my least favorite item. The applicator is ultra flexible and feels flimsy, thus I don't feel confident with it. I messed up several times and this is not a very conducive building mascara. Two coats and you start treading in spider leg eyelashes territory. I cannot recommend this one. Sorry Cream Eyeshadow in Apricot twist: Can you see it? Probably not easily. Thats cause its ultra light (but buildable) but it has a nice silky smoothness. I LOVE that I can apply this with my finger tips and it just glides on. Fantastic cream shadow, neutral (and safe) color.

Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush: Love love love this. This went on light and rosy. I rarely wear blush as my Irish face tends to red with emotions but this looked so cute. I do wear blush with heavy foundation though so I will totally use this. *Also to note, this was what my husband noticed first tee hee and he is a fan*

Translucent Loose Powder: I couldn't tell you the difference between a good loose powder and a bad one. Sadly. But this did not feel like talcy baby powder it actually felt very smooth and light. I guess Ill play with this more. :)

Gel Eyeliner: THIS STUFF IS AMAZING! If you like Gel liners, this is like silk going on. Imagine your favorite gel pen in school, its that fantastic. LOVE this. Great coverage, nice and dark, and so so so smooth. *It also came with a tiny precision brush that I adore*

Bronzing Powder in Light-Medium: I am very novice at bronzing powder for contouring. I am also afraid of over-bronzing and looking like a dirty hobo. However this is super spreadable, blends well and goes on smooth too. I was surprised. Its totally the best bronzer I have tried and this one I am eager to learn with.

NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Mango Tango: OMG I LOVE THIS TOO. It matches my hair, isn't sticky and just feels amazing. I can tie my whole look together matching my hair to this and I love it so much!

I also got a Concealer/Cream brush and a powder brush and I am thoroughly impressed with the quality on both.

Seriously Mary Kay, you have upped your game big time and my opinions on your quality have changed.

The best part is that I did my makeup today out of boredom and being stir crazy and posting a selfie to Facebook I have gotten SO MANY responses on how great this look is for me. Looks like Ill be buying more Mary Kay in my future! HAHA Thanks Influenster!

I received about $120 with of various Mary Kay for free to test and review from Influenster. This is my review video for the Mango Tango lipgloss and I LOVE it to death. All my makeup in the photo was done by items in the box (with the exception of my moisturizer and primer) kiddo tried to get in the video too tee hee. I gotta say, I’m pretty impressed with several products here <3 @influenster @marykay #mkglam
