Karu described an individual from his visions (who turned out to be Link) as “what appears to be an Ordonian general” ONE TIME and a whole bunch of modern scholars swear that Link and Zelda’s marriage isn’t part of the prophesied reunification of Hyrule simply because Link isn’t a general.

Karu Hyrule - Reference
Base by Godbirdart
FINALLY! A mistake-less, multi-view reference sheet of one of my bestest boys. I love Karu.
He is the son of a Wolfbred genetically modified with Zonai DNA (Zonai-Spliced Wolfbred) and the daughter of Rauru’s lineage, so while he looks incredibly Zonai, he’s actually a Wolfbred x Hylian hybrid.
I’m redoing all my major character profiles, and his is one of them, so I don’t have a ton of lore to dump on you. However, he is considered one of the most important kings in Hyrulean history. The first male to be crowned king since Rauru himself, Karu’s rise to power was miraculous— and tragic. Before Karu’s famous amendments, which rewrote the inner workings of Kingdom and Church, it was sacrilegious to strip a Daughter of Hylia of her right to rule for any reason. And then his elder sister, Hyrule’s crown princess and High Priestess, committed the unforgivable act of patricide before stealing command of Hyrule’s military and massacring both Sheikah and Wolfbred alike. When she came for Karu’s life, a loyal Wolfbred servant helped Karu fight back until his guard’s arrival; before vanishing into the bloody night.
The Goddess herself destroyed her soul in divine retribution, erasing her— but not memory of her— from all planes of existence. Hylia then shook Her matriarchal dynasty again by naming Karu as Hyrule’s king in place of his mother, who served only until 12-year-old Karu came of Wisdom. She emblazoned Her crest onto his garments; telling all of Her will for Her kingdom. Karu’s devotion as High Priest is unmatched, earning him the moniker of “Hyrule’s Priest King.”
In the modern era, he is remembered primarily for a collection of laws that came to be known as Karu’s Amendments to Rauru’s Law; the only recognized addendum to Rauru’s Law. The three most famous are as follows:
No one is to interfere with the fates of the Sheikah and Wolfbred, in ways positive or negative, until the time appointed by Hylia.
All female heirs of the Lineage of Hylia must bear the name “Zelda,” the name of Hylia Incarnate.
Modified succession guidelines: Daughters of Hylia may be stripped of succession and priesthood rights without divine intervention in cases of treason, genocide of Hyrule’s peoples, proven abandonment of the people’s welfare, and other high crimes. Also includes a staunch reminder that laws forbidding execution of Her descendants, male and female, remain untouched.

Xiyja - Reference Sheet
I got her two days ago from CalmLittleStar and I couldn’t help but draw her hehehe. I adjusted my new Wolfbred ref base for her, which I think is fitting for her story.
After tinkering with my Wolfbred lore for two years, I realized there were some parts that just wouldn’t work unless the Wolfbred had a deity to call their own. So here she is!! She doesn’t replace Hylia, I decided long ago that the Wolfbred would be Hylia-worshipping because I didn’t want the lore to feel like Link “converted” to marry Zelda. But that doesn’t mean they can’t have their own deity as well! (One the tribe as a whole has a better relationship with)
Also, some of the links may not work if you aren’t authorized on Toyhou.se or logged into ArtFight. Sorry.
"I can only pray that this is enough.... enough to stop the bloodshed, the tears... the death. Even if this fails..... the Golden Three will know I've tried....."
Creator of the Celaeno Orientalis, born from her magic and the ends of a worldly rift. Pronunciation (at least the best I can write it) is /z/eye/yah/
Viewed like a goddess to the Wolfbred. It's less that Wolfbred don't believe in Hylia (they do) than that they don't always believe She's good. Xiyja, they believe is completely good to them. Outcasted herself due to infection, her heart broke for the Wolfbred bodies broken during the Bleeding of Castle Town. She proclaimed there had to be something she could do and vowed to find that thing. Eventually, she sowed a worldly rift together again with her magic and created the nebulous constellation system Celaeno Orientalis: the first connection between Twilight and Hyrule since the destruction of the Mirror of Twilight eons before; although it can only be crossed by Wolfbred spirits. The melody for the Song of Healing is inscribed on a band around her single wing, and a tune not heard since the Twilight Soldier spoke his goodbye to a friend is inscribed on another band at her thigh. Both these are sacred to the battered Wolves.
Link's ability to call forth spirits stems from Xiyja's work and is unique to him due to both the fact he has been a dead Wolfbred (therefore able to cross the sealed rift) and also due to him being blessed and interwoven into Hylia's Honor Guard: the eternal gathering of all iterations of the Goddess and her Hero.
As Arvador, Link is seen as Xiyja's worldly extension much like Zelda is seen as Hylia's extension. Although Link admits that Zelda does have a godly might he does not due to being directly related to Hylia, instead of a representation.
Amalēse is directly 'translated' from Ordonian into Hylian, as it's her "Hylian" name (I'm still working on Ordonian, but Xiyja is her Ordonian name)
After learning her Ordonian name from Link, Zelda represents her name in Hylian as "Xiyja" in Hylian script instead of Amalēse, which is what is seen in the ref’s corner. (Which also doesn't garner any favor points with her own people)

Revali "Revarie" the Second - Reference
Base by GodBirdArt
THE MAN HAS A REFERENCE!! It only took….. *looks at AO3 & Toyhou.se* …..three and a half years. Oops.
Revali the Second, also known as "Reva" or "Revarie" is the near carbon-copy son of the Rito Champion Revali. He hatched about one year after the Great Calamity, and his egg was laid the morning of. He was named "Revali the Second" after his mother, Khosha, initially believed him to be a reincarnation of her late husband. During the Age of Burning Fields, he and his mother fled Rito Village and eventually settled in Lurelin in hope that he could grow up outside of his father's shadow. He initially rejected his birth name, going by "Reva" or "Revarie" until his early 20s when he realized he couldn't run from his identity as Revali’s son and re-assumed his original name.
He eventually married Link's younger sister, Hyrule's last full-blooded Wolfbred, Duchess Sydnei Imperial. He and his wife were a pair of traveling bards for many years, even before marrying, despite Sydnei also being Mother Queen of Ordona. Once the Wolfbred's shortened lifespan overpowered Sydnei’s traveling desires, they permanently settled down in Hateno as the ruling pair. Revali also then became Hateno's historian, which had been vacant since Pryze's death about a decade before. By the grace of Hylia, the pair had two children: one wholly Rito and one wholly Wolfbred.
He is the grandfather of Kass the Rito Bard, who inherited his accordion. He is also the grandfather of Reede, mayor of Hateno Village & father king of Ordona.
Revali (Revarie/Reva) the Second is a main character in Successors, first appearing in Chapter 2.

Having Rinkū be remembered in the histories of Hyrule as a creature of bloodlust so terrible his descendants thousands of years later are still feared in his name is really comical when Zelda gets yoinked back in time to find a dude in his mid-30s conked out in the throne room with Hearty Durian on his face.

Zelda Esmerelda Hyrule - ToZA Outfit References
Better Quality
Base by Crowvai
~~~~
These are her two special outfits from Trial of the Zora Armor. Her outfits are the same as canon before ToZA, except for the old self-harm scars on her arms. (see arm view) I can’t believe it’s taken this long to get her a solid reference like her hubby has.
I’m not very good with fabric folding, so I did my best to show just how misfitted the travel outfit is on her. The royal seamstress didn’t get much time to figure something out 😅
~~~~
"Due to the sudden need for travel after her equally sudden announcement, some old travel clothes that once belonged to Zelda's mother were quickly tailored for the expectant princess. This temporary field outfit fit her new figure much nicer than the formal dress she had been wearing the day the blood moon was discovered." - Excerpt from ToZA Chapter 3 referencing the travel outfit
"As it was customary for a woman of Hylia's line to publicly wear white while pregnant, Zelda was now in a long white dress that had been tailored in a way that made up for the lack of a corset, walking slowly alongside her husband." - Excerpt from ToZA Chapter 8 referencing the castlewear. A later chapter references the detailing.

No Way to Forget - The Tragedy of Midna Marie Imperial
TW: Incest mentions and quite a few of them, including their psychological (and some physiological) effects on involved parties.
This is my screwed up blorbo, and I'm sticking to her sad, sad story. I do not condone, endorse or otherwise present this story as okay/morally acceptable! Likewise, I will not permit this content to be taken lightly.
~~~~
The first of the forgotten beasts to encounter the tribes of Hyrule after so long in isolation was a young werewolf mother with a temper as sharp as the legends claimed and a heart of rancor. But if Hyrule has found her people to be a gentle breed, what soured this surely once-beautiful soul?
A life of guilt and desperation she led. The hardship of her people and the guilt she carried throughout life drove her to the certainty that the Goddess herself had abandoned Midna and her people, leaving her no choice but to break the most sacred of family boundaries.
With her family broken in such a manner, all in duty to the tribe's survival, Midna was never the same. A tiny pup made her a hero, but at what cost?
Guilt ate her alive. He was so frail and small. He looked just like him. Hylia, he had his father's face. This was not the first time the tribe had been forced past that boundary, but the struggling pup condemned her before Hylia and under the Twilight. This soul would last for eternity, forever condemning her, yet she'd sell the world for him. She'd sold her soul already for his mere existence, and it seemed Hylia had pardoned his life despite her darkest transgression… for the time being.
Despite the circumstances of past breaches being long gone, she broke the boundaries of family again. Because what once was could never be again, and there was no way to repair the boundary in a tribe so biologically devoted. Despite being a hero once more with a tiny female, circumstances and guilt consumed her, and she found no friend but the pack she'd made; certain the Goddess had forsaken her for these deepest crimes.
In reality, the Goddess would grant her family absolution in the form of a heiress born to the heirs of the Goddess by her son, but Midna would never get to see such absolution, as she would pass suddenly when the puppy’s father was merely a pup himself. And unfortunately for her family, her overwhelming guilt, fury and desperation did not follow her off the mortal plain; but infected those she held dearest: consuming her bonded with her guilt and threatening to devour her children by her curse.
And of course, such a curse concerned the most sacred of boundaries and one of the darkest transgressions, which isolated her beloved son further from those who ruled over them and were unwilling to understand as well as her dear daughter, who he vowed to protect despite any cost to himself.
Hyrule's Caste System
Pantheon - the gods and goddesses of Hyrule, of which the primary ones are Hylia, Din, Nayru and Farore. The Seven (eight) Heroines are included. All Ordonian deities that are unique to them are excluded.
Lineage of Hylia - the descendants of Hylia, both male and female. These individuals cannot be killed by mortal hands without incurring divine wrath (or so Hyrule believes) due to divine blood. In ancient times, the Lineage of Hylia (esp. females) could not be removed from the line of succession for any reason except by Hylia herself. Following Princess Shamia's genocide, members of the Lineage of Hylia could be removed only for high crimes against the people of Hyrule, or for treason. Notable inclusions are the Zelda lineage, of whom the eldest serves as High Priestess.
Pantheon Saints - Saints, servants or other divine vessels of a member of the Pantheon, again excluding those belonging solely to Ordona. There are three guardian saints who are believed to be either reincarnations of the Golden Goddesses, or appointed by them (no one can agree). Notable inclusions are Dinraal, Farosh, Naydra, Regent (the dragon who ordains kings and queens), Sirie (Guardian Saint of Wisdom), Berlon (Guardian Saint of Courage), Tyrvori/Mursi (a pair of spirits serving as the Guardian Saint of Power, seen as one unit) and Vammira (a spirit supposedly sent by the Pantheon to induce either dragonification or transmutation of mortals into saints)
Hyrulean Royals - Royalty outside the Lineage of Hylia. Can be killed without specific divine wrath, or removed from power for reasons other than those listed above.
Ordained Champions - added approximately five years before the Calamity occurred. The Royal Family's sacred warriors, ordained as a chosen few by the High Priestess (the eldest daughter of Hylia)
Hyrulean Nobles - Nobles of Hyrule's court. Includes elites, lords/ladies, and individuals who have both been knighted and given a personal assignment.
Foreign Royals - Royals outside the Hylian Royal Family. Notable inclusions are the Zora Royal Family, Urbosa, the Rito elder, the Goron lord and Impa
Foreign Nobles - Nobles outside the Hyrulean Court.
Upper Class - Non-Nobles who are Upper or Upper-Middle in socio-economic classification. Also includes Castle staff and some foreign upper class.
Lower Class - Non-Nobles who are neither Upper/Upper-Middle class or peasant. Includes non-voluntary Castle staff and unassigned and/or unknighted soldiers. Typically does not include foreign lower class due to these individuals not interacting outside their immediate kingdoms.
Peasants - An average individual with no connections to royalty or the military. Usually live outside of Castle Town and its neighboring settlements.
Half-Citizens - The Wolfbred and their royals, nobles, citizens and deities/reverent figures.
Hyrule's Final Stand - Character Masterlist
Characters without a link are characters who's official lore post/character sheet is coming soon! Characters from the original trilogy are ordered by first fic appearance (may be listed twice if they have severe design/lore changes between entries) while everyone else is kind of just sorted by era of first appearance. I'll add more minor characters as I complete sheets for major characters or develop their lore to the point a sheet is appropriate.
Sections with a fanfiction title will have the header linked to the story/series on AO3.
As I write/post more "bonus" stuff, i.e. stuff that isn't the original trilogy and its accompanying short stories, I may reorder sections. Includes canon characters even if they don't have a "original" design by me. Characters that have a "mature" label on their sheet will have an asterisk, and a title attached to their name if they were only referred to in canon with a title (Sheikah Court Poet, the Ancient Hero, Sages, etc.)
Wolfbred Tribe/Species Sheet - 2025
Better quality - fadaaaaa
Awoooo! Re-introducing the Wolfbred! I’ve done a lot of developing on them in the past year, and thought it best to make a sheet that showcases their unique anatomy and their important lore!
The colors used for the marking references can vary slightly by Wolfbred (as skin tone varies) but generally remains similar across the board. They also may not be the same shade as other facial markings if the cause is not similar (i.e. Pryze’s vitiligo markings are much lighter than his mark because his markings are due to melanocytes being destroyed and his mark is not controlled by the disease process… and is linked to different genes)
Now I just have to redo their massive, outdated lore document [and continue my quest to draw every Wolfie >:)]
Reference Sheet - Sirie
I am still vastly getting the hang of this multi-blog thing, sorry for all the things I have and will post(ed) to the wrong blog.
Anyway, here's Sirie! First seen in 2022 during Successors Chapter 10, Sirie is one of the dragon guardians of the Triforce pieces along with Berlon (courage), Tyrvori and Mursi (power)
Sirie was born as an attempt to resurrect the Zonai tribe by force, then abandoned by those who created her. The King of Ordona, Rinkū, took her in as one of his own and Sonia assisted in her rearing: causing Sirie (then named Farore) to become a priestess of Hylia at the Spring of Courage within Ordona's borders. Unknownst to even her, she was Nayru incarnate, which presented as the power to see all possible futures and pasts (although not clearly enough to explain which events belonged to which timeline, and what caused them.)
She accepted Hylia's Will and was transformed into this immortal state after the assassination of Queen Sonia, although her duties to the woman who had helped raise her did not end until after the Imprisoning War ended and Sonia's lone daughter was secure. Following this, Sirie joined Hylia's other appointed saints in guarding the springs and their dragons along with a decree from the Sage of Time to protect the occurrence of a certain future; no matter how much suffering it brought.
