And I just realized that with that post I told you guys about my new deep fryer before I told you about my new cat.

His name is Waylon. He's two years old. He has long black hair and he's very soft. He sheds like it's his purpose in life. He's a level five mama's boy who loses his shit when I close the bathroom door. (Having a clingy cat and Crohn's Disease is an experience.) I think he legitimately thinks I gave birth to him. He loves to cuddle. He knew his new name by the end of the first day with him. He's very intelligent but doesn't have a lick of common sense. He's very loud and talkative. He has abandonment issues. He is clearly his mother's son.

Owning a deep fryer + having a love affair with whiskey + being a night owl means I spend an inordinate amount of time talking myself out of making my own fried mozzarella after midnight.

So I got into work after two days off to find out that a coworker passed away. There are some rumors as to the circumstances, but what we know for sure is that it was very unexpected.

I didn't work closely with him but it is hitting me hard nonetheless. It's hitting a lot of people hard. He was good people. There was never a dull moment with him around. He had silly cat energy. It hurts that I won't get to see him around anymore. I hope that he's found peace in the afterlife and that he knows how loved he was.

there needs to be a cultural shift in america like im not talking about culture war bullshit i mean the average american needs to learn to care about their community and the rest of the world and not be a self-absorbed asshole with a "fuck you i got mine" attitude.
