There was a picture of me and the entire bunch, minus Deniz and Vanessa, standing together at the Teufelstopf in the dark of the late night. I had almost forgotten the photo existed. It was taken the day we decided to create a soccer bunch. A soccer bunch named the Wilden Kerle. — from The origin

About the dwk fics.
I had hoped to do thirteen so that it would be like Die Wilde Kerle season 3. But even though I have ideas for all of the fics I don’t have the same motivation to write them as I did a year ago, which I guess comes from the fact that it feels like it takes to much time to do them. So… idk maybe it won’t be thirteen after all. Or maybe I just need to take a break from them before I can continue again.

Finally! A new fic done! This one takes place before The ugly truth and after the canon events of season two.
I actually finished the first draft in like October but then school gave me all sorts of assignments, exams, you name it. And after that I was just so tired it was hard to get myself motivated to finish it.
Anyway, hope you enjoy it! If you haven’t read my other fics it would make me very happy if you did :)

Dwk head canons the entire fandom shares
Markus self harms
Jojo’s mum was an alcoholic
Deniz and Leon are in love
Jojo and Markus are in love
Marlon and Kong are in love
Vanessa and Natasha are in love
Marlon and Leon’s mum left them as kids
This caused Leon to have abandonment issues and kind of explains why he is the way he is
He also shows signs of having narcissistic disorder and BPD
Deniz is on the autism spectrum
Raban has ADHD
Raban’s parents doesn’t take care of him (either because they can’t or simply because the are neglectful)
Therefore Willi and Hadschi are the closest he has to father figures
#theses are the ones I could come up with right now#if there’s anyone I missed feel free to share#the fact that we collectively decided that Markus self harms is both fascinating and concerning at the same time#actually a lot of these are quite concerning#dwk#dwk animated series#die wilden kerle animated series

Major change in Squid Game 2 that nobody talks about
One of the biggest changes in Squid Game 2 that I haven’t seen anyone talking about is the fact that you now have the option to leave with a small amount of money.
In season one, it was all or nothing. Either you completed all the games and won everything, or you left empty handed. This was the reason why so many people chose to come back even after voting to leave. Even though they probably didn’t need all the 45,6 billion won, they were still in dept and felt like they had no choice but to keep playing the game. This was also the reason why Sang Woo killed himself in the end. Because otherwise both him and Gi-hun would leave empty handed and everything they’d done would have been in vain.

In season two, the players have the option to leave with a smaller sum while also saving the life of themselves and others. Yet, the majority choose to stay. The idea that they could get more if they just keep on playing as well as the knowledge that the money will increase the more who dies, is what drives them to keep on playing. That shows how most people are driven by their own greed, and are willing to sacrifice others lives for their own benefit.

This is foreshadowed in episode 1, when the Recruiter gives those homeless people the option to choose between a bread or a lottery. The bread is a guaranteed win and though it’s not much it can make a big difference for the one who has not eaten in a while. Still, the personal greed and the small chance that they could get more is what drives most of them to pick the lottery instead. In the end they loose everything because they were yearning for more. Just like the Recruiter says:

The bread could be a symbolism for the players lives, and how the players who voted to stay ended up throwing their lives away simply because they wanted more.

Idk if this is a “listen but don’t judge” but …
One of my biggest issues with season two was that it was too cartoonish. Like, yes, it’s always been a cartoon but while I thought season one was pretty realistic (apart from the magic stuff and maybe the way they talked), season two followed way too many of the cartoon cliches.
Herr Treumer went from a controlling dad you could meet in real life to a full on cartoon villain.
The bunch got access to an underground computer that somehow track all of their moments, created by Willi’s long lost genius friend.
They had to go on a full treasure hunt to find a contract which protects the soccer field and, instead of being put in a will or something other important document, is put in a freaking statue so it’s nearly impossible to find!!!
The thing is, I wouldn’t have a problem with these tropes if they were put in a show where they fitted in (like Strange Hill High). But because I felt like they didn’t fit in, I found season two less enjoyable to watch than season one.
(Note: this could be because I watch season one for the first time when I was like ten and watched season two for the first time when I was nineteen, so it could of course be that I’ve become more critical over the years)
(Note 2: the politics part was quite realistic lol)
What's your "listen but don't judge" type of opinion on dwk?

It's my 1 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
Yay! Thanks for the likes on my silly memes, the comments on analysis and the wonderful support for my fics. There’s truly something comforting with being able to nerd down on different tv shows along with other nerds. And seeing people appreciate what I do really warms my heart. ❤️

Seen a lot of MarlonKong post lately and somehow they remind me of PhayuRain from the Thai BL “Love in the air”

I actually have no reason why they remind me of MarlonKong. Personality wise they’re not even that similar. I guess Phayu (on the right) is a bit similar to Kong in the way that he’s hard towards everyone except for Rain, just like Kong has a soft spot for Marlon. Marlon, however, has no similarities to Rain (who’s basically a dumber version of Raban lol). I guess the reason they I find them similar is because the way PhayuRain show affection towards each other is pretty MarlonKong coded.
I think this edit proves my point (not mine btw)

Wrote my MBTI head canons a few moths ago and I still think they’re pretty accurate. Might do an updated post about the other characters’ personalities as well
I don't think there's info on the cartoon version on this topic, so I'll ask it here
What personality type (this entp, infp, etc. thing) do you think each of dwk has?

Time for some rambling about the Swedish dub of dwk.
About the voices:
In general I think the Swedish translation was one of the better ones and most of the voices fit well to the characters. The only one I didn’t like so much was Vanessa who sounded a bit to childish.
Vanessa is voiced by Tea Tjärne. She is a quite famous actress, nationally most well know for her role as Charlie in Tjuvarnas Jul. Internationaly, she’s best known as Mia in Baracuda Queens.

Deniz is voiced by Christian Hedlund. He is one of the most successful voice actors in Sweden and is the Swedish voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, Pip from Enchanted, and many more.

Marlon is voiced by Daniel Melén. He’s also a successful voice actor who’s also known for the voice of Fernando from Rio and Sosuke from Ponyo.

Raban is voiced by Jonatan Modin, who’s also known as Marco from The sleepover club and Fenwick from 100 things to do before highschool. Unironically, all three of them have been my childhood crushes (please don’t judge).

Jojo is voiced by Elias Olsson who also voices Elias in Elias: Rescue team adventures (my humor is broken, I find it funny that Elias voices Elias for Elias).

At this point I gave up trying to find other characters that the actors have voiced, so I’ll just list the rest. Leon is voiced by Alexander Kaunitz, Markus is voiced by Oliver Garmenius and Willi is voiced by Love Bergström.
Many of these actors have worked together in other projects as well, such as Poppy cat, Wibbly pig, Die Pfefferkörner and more.
About the translation:
Unfortunately, I was only able to find the Swedish dub of the schizophrenia episode so my analysis is solely based on that.
youtube
Most notable difference is that instead of saying “We’ll kick them to the moon and then to hell” (I think that’s what they say at least?) they say ”We’ll kick them to the moon and then to mars”. On one hand it makes sense that they wouldn’t want swearing in children’s media. On the other hand, it doesn’t because:
1. Swedish children’s media is very chill when it comes to swearing and often features words such as ‘crap’ and ‘damn’.
2. In the beginning of the episode, Leon literally says ‘What a shitty/crappy game’.
Another interesting thing is that everybody got their German names, except for Deniz who is called Rico. I guess it’s because in Sweden, Spanish/Latin players are more well known than Turkish ones.
And though not related to the translation, the Swedish version of s1e12 censors when Jojo takes Natasha’s clothes, so it looks like he gets up on Natasha’s bike in his own clothes while Natasha still is fully dressed.
Funny thing though, s1e13 WASN’T censored, so Jojo is seen wearing Natasha’s clothes and Natasha is seen waking around with the tarp around her. As a kid I got very confused on what happened there. Like, did she give him her clothes or something?
