30. celebration

The night was quiet yet alive, partnered by the soft and faint music coming from Terushima's apartment. There were no such decorations laid out except for the LED lights that was changing colors over a period of time. Several finger food were presented on the table, chips, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks and of course some light alcohol.

Everyone was settled in the living room. Kenma, Oikawa, Akaashi and Atsumu were sitting on the floor with some beer in their hands, exchanging words about the volleyball match that was playing on the tv screen, mumbling about the teams setter sucks.

Tendou was showing his phone to Tsukishima about some random tiktok trend that he thinks is stupid. You were seated on the couch talking with Bokuto whilst being sandwiched between him and Kuroo who was busy gossiping with Terushima about some college drama.

Bokuto muttered his temporary goodbye to you as he stood up and went his way towards Oikawa and the others. Your eyes made way to the boys who were happily mingling with each other, who would've thought a mere incident of looking for a date for the party before would end up with new found friendships, let alone a boyfriend for that matter. You cannot help but smile upon the thought. Sure a lot of shit has happened but life is full of unexpected things, right?

You took a gulp from the bottle of alchohol you have in your hand. The howls and yells from the boys who were setting on the floor made you almost spat out the drink in your mouth. The volleyball team that they are rooting for must've won. After the hype has died down they have started talking about their plans on their future.

The party was simple but if you would look deeper it doesn't seem that simple due to Bokuto's hyper personality partnered up by Terushima's chaotic attitude.

"HEY HEY HEY! How about we play some games, Terushima?" Bokuto yelled.

"Fuck yeah! Let's see who will win the most, loser gets to flash their ass on tomorrow's ceremony." Terushima confidently suggested, earning a loud laugh from the owl looking man before agreeing. These two are definitely the life of the party.

Not wanting to receive complaints from Terushima's neighbors, Akaashi was keeping the two wild animals intact, reminding them to not drink much in order for them to not be wasted on tomorrow's event and to think twice about their agreement. "This might scar your memories forever, please think twice about this." Akaashi says.

All of you laughed at the crazy antics the two of them agreed upon. Tears started to form in your eyes from too much laughter caused by the two idiots who are now bickering about which game they are supposed to be playing.

Kuroo's arm was wrapped around you, snuggling closer to feel some warmth. You felt soft lips being pressed on your exposed shoulder, turning your head towards his direction you gave him a soft smile in which he returned. "Wanna go out and catch some air, kitten?" Kuroo said as he placed down the bottle of alcohol on the table.

"Yeah, sounds nice." He squeezed your shoulder before making it's way towards your hand, grabbing yours and finally standing up.

Kuroo excused the two of you before making way towards the balcony, while on your way, you locked eyes with the chocolate-haired man. You swore you could've cried on the spot with what you just saw but you did your best to hold back your tears. The usual sparkle that could be seen before in Oikawa's eyes that were once gone have returned, with that he gave you a genuine smile that made your heart swell. You gave him back a smile before fully making your way outside the balcony.

You lay your hands flat on the railings, staring at the beautiful scenery outside Terushima's apartment. The light from the moon illuminating the deep night, partnered with some glimmers from the stars. The leaves from the trees rustled due to the night's breeze and the soft laughs from the elderly couple who was taking a night stroll filled your ears.

This is it. This is the last day of your university life, your life as a college student. After the ceremony tomorrow you are now an adult who will struggle on looking for jobs, stressing over the bills, managing your savings. Not that you aren't experiencing this already but the life after is different. You still even don't know what you are planning on doing after this, should you look for a job asap or get your life together and think for a while?

While you were distracted in your thoughts about your life in the future, you failed to hear the sound of closing doors and footsteps that was approaching your figure. You flinched when you felt Kuroo's arms snake around your waist. He rested his chin on your shoulder and you leaned back. Your bodies are so close to each other that you can feel his warmth.

The two of you stayed in that position for a couple of minutes. Just enjoying the company and warmth of each other. After a few moments, he snuggled his face closer to your neck and inhaled your scent causing to send shivers down to your spine.

"Everything okay, Tetsu?"

"Hmm. Just thinking about some things." He replied.

You removed your hands on the railings and placed it above Kuroo's arms on your waist. "And what are these things?" you asked still looking at the scenery in front of you.

"About how time flies fast, tomorrow marks the end of our student life and the start of something new as we go on with our own paths." His grip on your waist tightened. "I remember meeting you just months ago at the cafe and now look at us, you're my girl. Everything feels surreal."

Hearing your boyfriend share his thoughts, you cannot help but agree. Time does fly fast. A lot of things happened to you that feels like it just occurred yesterday.

"I also cannot help but be anxious about my future. What if everything didn't go as I planned? Will I still have the strength to continue? If so, how?" he added.

Kuroo already planned his future? Good for him. Your boyfriend already got his life together while you are still struggling what to do with yourself. Mentally cursing at yourself for being such a mess. What has Kuroo planned for his future? Will you be enlightened if you ask him about it? Will you get some idea? You mentally debated whether you should ask him or not but in the end you said fuck it.

"Say, Tetsu." he softly hummed in reply. "What are your plans in the future?"

Kuroo smiled at your curiosity, he lifted his head that was resting on your shoulder for who knows how long. "So you see kitten, my future depends on my two proposals for you."

You snapped your head to face him, confusion was written all over your face. What does he mean by that? He removed one of his arm from your waist and grabbed something from his pocket. It was two keys.

"Pretty sure you're wondering what are these two keys right? Remember when I told you that I will help you make good memoried from coffees?" you nodded in your head but still confused at what he is implying. "I'm going to open my own cafe, a cat cafe to be exact, and I was thinking of handling the business with you. In that way we can make tons of great memories from all the different coffees specifically replacing the trauma it gave you when you were still a kid."

Your eyes are as wide as your mouth which was left open from Kuroo's statement. Blinking twice before slamming your hands against your cheeks to make sure you aren't dreaming. You heard Kuroo ask you why you did that. You were about to say something when pressed index finger against your lips. "I'm going to reveal what's the other key for. When I slept over at your place, I cannot forget the feeling I got when I woke up next to you. I've felt so complete and happy. It felt like home and that was when I realized that you were my home and I wanted to come home to you everyday. So this key is for the apartment, will you be my home?"

You cannot believe what you just heard. First the cafe and now sharing an apartment with Kuroo in just a span of one night. He once again dropped a huge bomb to you, not even giving you a chance to recover. If you didn't think your eyes could go any wider then think again. This guy never fails to give you surprises. You opened your mouth so say something but closed it again. You were gaping like a fish out of water struggling to get some oxygen.

"Did I overwhelm you again, kitten?"

"Yes, you did!" He laughed. "I don't even know what to say nor where to start from, you didn't give me time to breathe oh my god." You let out a sigh followed by a laugh.

You think about everything Kuroo said, handling the cafe doesn't seem that bad especially since you still don't have anything in mind for your future. Maybe with this you can finally get your life together. Also, sharing an apartment and waking up to him everyday is a cherry on top. Couldn't pass that up.

You gave Kuroo a smile before giving your answer, he knows it already based from your smile. You turned your body so that you're facing him, wrapping your arms around his neck before leaning in to place a quick peck on his lips. "I think already you the answer, Tetsu."

"I was hoping you would say so, kitten. Got scared for a second." Kuroo gave you one of his infamous smirks before wrapping his arms around your waist once again. Pulling you closer to him as he crashed his lips against yours. Tilting your head to deepen the kiss, he bit your lower lip before slipping his tongue in, shamelessly exploring your mouth. Feeling lightheaded from the lack of oxygen, you pulled back before gasping some air. Resting your head on his chest to hide the blush creeping up your cheeks.

"You know, kitten. I've been thinking once you've moved in with me you'll finally get a taste and the answer."

"Taste of what? Answer to what?" you slightly raised your head.

"If my cum is actually coffee flavored." Your face turned beet red from embarrassment, mentally cursing Atsumu for this matter. Kuroo's laugh lingered in your ears as you pushed your face deeper on his chest.

Who would've thought that the barista you found attractive would end up as the love of your life. Right after tomorrow, lots of amazing things awaits for the two of you.
