Hey, look, a Heckler & Koch MP5A5 (HK MP5 platform, chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum). It features a fire selector with a three-round burst mode, and a telescoping stock to keep the weapon compact.
“how could you like gabi?? she killed sasha!”

Looks to be a Colt M1911A1 (Colt 1911 series, chambered in .45 ACP). Hard to tell given the lack of markings, which were likely either edited out of the shot via CGI, or simply using a non-firing prop.

Tumblr only lets me see activity as far back as 90 days, so I'm definitely missing a lot of stuff posted in 2024, so if you're seeing this and want me to double back on something, do let me know!
I'm still not any less busy than I was five months ago, but I'd like to pop in here every now and then these days. Better use of my time than doomscrolling Bluesky at 2AM, I think.
Insert that clip of John Wick saying "yeah, I'm thinking I'm back" or whatever.

It's definitely not a real gun, I can tell you that. As for what kind of gun, it seems to be an attempt at a triple-barreled break-action shotgun (chambered in 10-, 12-, or 20-gauge). It is a type of shotgun where the chamber and barrels are attached to the frame / receiver of the weapon via a hinge. You "break" open the chambers to eject and load ammunition, typically with a latch.
Commonly, these types of shotguns are double-barreled. Triple-barreled shotguns exist, but are very rare; especially one in this sort of side-by-side-by-side configuration.
On a side note, the barrels / chambers being that solid flat-sided block is not ever done in real life for a number of reasons to do with both manufacturing and engineering. Not only is it less durable and structurally sound, it's also an absolute pain to actually machine out such a thick chunk of steel several times over like that.
Well, since Twitter is going to hell in a hand basket, I've decided to post these Sebastian Solace reference I made to here and my Blue Sky! Along with the original caption When you can't find a good ref for a character you like so you download the 3d model to make one yourself

It's a bit mangled, but seems to fit the general concept of a Remington Arms M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle (chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum). It's missing the entire bolt handle and half of the receiver, though.

Appears to be a PTRS-41 (chambered in 14.5x114mm). It's a WWII-era Soviet anti-tank rifle. It's semi-automatic and fires some very large, hard-hitting bullets, typically armor-piercing rounds.
Fun fact: parts of the design were later reused for the SKS semiauto rifle.

Somebody put this horrendously tortured Mosin-Nagant M91/30 (Mosin-Nagant M1891 rifle, chambered in 7.62x54mm Rimmed) out of its misery right now, before I cry and have a stroke.
I mean, as it's one of the most mass-produced military bolt-action rifles in history, it's not that bad of a crime, but still... jeez.

Somewhat confident this is a Springfield Armory XD-9 Tactical (XD pistol series, chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum) (though it could also be the .45-chambered variant, the XD-45, but the magazine looks to be proportional to the 9mm variant to me).
It was originally designed and manufactured in Croatia by HS Produkt, initially designated "HS2000", before it was licensed out to Springfield Armory.

In the anime, the weapon on the ground is confirmed to be an Airsoft replica. Regardless, it seems to be primarily based on the Remington M24 SWS (Remington 700 variant, chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum). It is a military variant of Remington Arms' flagship bolt-action hunting rifle, the Remington 700.

Very confident that this sniper cat is sighting downrange with a third generation Fabrique Nationale SCAR-H (F.N. SOCOM Combat Assault Rifle platform, chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO) with standard barrel length, featuring a mid-power magnified optic (likely 2-6x), bipod, and angled foregrip.
The SCAR-H was developed alongside the SCAR-L, which is a similar rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, to fill a more standard assault rifle role. However, the US military never fully adopted the SCAR-L, mostly sticking with the SCAR-H for Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) capabilities.

It's true that this is not a real gun, but it is, however, a replica of the Diamond Back .357 Revolver (chambered in .357 Magnum), a fictional gun from the videogame Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
The weapon seems to strongly reference Colt revolvers; there is a Colt Diamondback revolver, but it was never chambered in .357. It seems to draw more from the Colt Python, which has indeed been chambered in .357. Outside of that, the revolver also has visual elements of Taurus guns, especially Raging Bull (various chamberings, primarily .44 Magnum).
Many folks will probably recognize this weapon by its counterpart in Team Fortress 2, simply known as "The Diamondback" there, as an unlockable weapon for the Spy.

If you need a 9-millimeter hole drilled into your dashboard, I would certainly recommend a proper motorized drill tool, and not a Beretta 92FS (Beretta 92 pattern, chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum). This is the civilian release version of the popular Beretta 92F, designated as the "M9" officially within military use. (It's actually next to impossible to tell the two apart, I'm just making the assumption here judging by the subject)
It's one of the most popular firearms in media, and with good reason. It's also a personal favorite of mine.

hello! i am a creative who is trying to learn more about guns so i can write them in an informed way, but a lot of the sources i'm finding are like. kinda uncomfortable, in the sense that they're very conservative and kind of reactionary about defending from "Invaders" or whatever. i was wondering if you happen to know of like, youtube channels or blogs (other than this one ofc) that are informative about firearms but also, not, like. sponsored by US military recruitment agencies? sorry for the trouble
Hiya! I totally understand the discomfort. I do have a couple of recommendations to give, but I do also want to share my experiences, too.
Looking back, I'd estimate that about 70% of my arms research has always been with the caveat of having to navigate those kinds of conservative elements, unfortunately. (And another 20% was on sources that weren't very open about it, but I can't recommend for one reason or another after hearing about them from other places) I know it's really unfair, and I wish I had better sources to recommend for deeper knowledge, but to get the best understanding, it may be required to navigate those waters oneself, and focus on separating the educational elements from the ideological bullshit.
And from experience, if you're gonna look at IMFDB (Internet Movie Firearms Database, an extremely well-documented and exhaustive wiki on gun identification with regards to the media they show up in, including video games and anime), I would recommend running Firefox with the latest version of AdBlocker to get rid of the more problematic ads.
Outside of that, I've got a handful of decent recommendations for you to check out still.
Ahoy has some great videos that cover a number of historic firearms, though there is a slight focus on their relation to video games.
Though not a standard educational channel per se, Anton Hand is the creator of Hot Dogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades, a VR game that's a sandbox with advanced firearms simulations, where the only organic creatures are cartoonishly nonhuman sausage creatures, which is an intentional design choice to avoid the game being an Active Shooter Simulator. While his channel is primarily dedicated to updates to the game, whenever he goes about adding in new weapons, historical firearms, attachments, functionalities, etc., he does go into the history of those features fairly often.
I asked a friend of mine, and he recommended InRangeTV, who is a leftist gun blogger, so there's a fitting recommendation, I suppose! I haven't seen this guy before but I already like his vibes quite a bit.

Good point, I wasn't aware there were modernized double barrel break actions being manufactured (assuming you meant to spell "Stoeger"). I'll rescind that note on the original post, then, to avoid arguments in the future.

Can't believe I didn't catch that. To be fair, while doing my identification, I ended up reverse image searching to find the original image, so I stopped paying attention to the caption.
Indeed, the caption is wrong, the Mossberg 500 only has a single barrel with a magazine tube underneath it from which shells are loaded into the chamber.
