sing me a song
@idxdanny
Some people might have expected that as only the lead vocal and lead dance, Wei would slack off or work less hard than the mains in the group. Nothing could be further from the truth, considering Wei himself was a workaholic. He always had been; that had surprised people, considering his family was wealthy. Still, his family had hardly lucked in to the money. They had built their conglomerate over generations and Wei couldn’t afford to be a rich playboy if he was going to run it someday. Of course, now that he was never going to set foot near that C.E.O. office, all the behaviors he had learned in preparation for being the future president of a company were ingrained in him. He couldn’t be laidback if he tried. So, there he was, on Saturday morning, in the studio, going over scales until the point just before his vocal chords bled. It was a fine line, but Wei was used to fine lines.
Of course, when he had woken up, he had run into Danny and that had led to him dragging the fellow member of B.rite with him. At some point in time, Wei considered himself in competition with Danny, mostly because people would compare their vocal skills. It was the same with anyone in the group though, really. Unfortunately, Wei had fallen prey to Dannyn’s charms like everyone else. He enjoyed his company, much like he enjoyed the company of everyone in B.rite. So, it had become less about competing and more about being the best they could for the group. And of course. the other funny feelings Wei refused to name. Also, Wei being the generally busybody he usually was and making sure everyone got in some practice during the week, whether they liked it or not. That went double for Danny who needed a full-time caretaker, or else he would become a lost puppy. Or worse, a dog in heat.
“We should practice the new song again.” Though, it was a ridiculous and involved seeing him in animal ears, he could already tell it was going to be a hit. Mostly because people loved seeing them making a fool of himself.

idmeiying‌:
the familiarity had brought a sense of calm, allowing her to regain her composure somewhat. there was still no plan, no script in sight, but at least she had tea. really good tea.
Wei genuinely smiled at her as soon as the endearment left her mouth. It was comforting in a way he had never expected, having very few people in his life to call him that in the moment. His shoulders visibly relaxed as he leaned back. He took a sip of his own tea. “No offense to Korea, but the Chinese make better tea.” It was controversial, but there was no one around to understand his Mandarin but her so he quirked the corner of his lip up in a smile. She at least didn’t seem put off by his accent. He had people criticize him for it all the time when he went to Hong Kong, ignoring the fact that he had not lived there since he was four years old.
“I wonder how they will dress us up for it. It’s a pretty heartbreaking song,” he said. It was a bit strange to formally meet someone for the first time right as they were about to sing about a tragic break up. He had seen her around, but had a bit put off by hearing her choose Changmin as her bias (though, he supposed she couldn’t very well choose Danny and he did understand the urge). But, he had modeled enough before to know that was the norm. Besides, he was known as the romantic one and the song was on bran with that KTM wanted from him.
“Danny and Jia are doing a song as well, aren’t they?” he asked. He was trying to pry her feelings towards the two, though he probably would not like the answer for many reasons, none of which he ever wanted to admit out loud. “Though, I hear it is a very different concept from ours.” More like the exact opposite. Because of course Danny got the cute song while he got the depressing one. No one expected him to be the fun one of B.rite. Just the hot one. “I think it’s a cutesy thing. I think the lyrics for ours are promising though.” He had broken up with someone before, but it had certainly not hurt that much. Though, he did know a thing or two about unrequited feelings.

idxdaehyun‌:
He was hungry, after all. But walking the dog took priority. And Wei was calm most of the time, it surely would benefit his scattered brain to spend time with him. Maybe Wei would even let him chatter merrily for a few minutes until he got to ramble everything itching to get out of his head. Maybe he wouldn’t get to ramble but that’d be okay too. Just anything to make him stop feeling like his heart might burst soon. Perhaps he should write it down. Make it into yet another song Koala.T wouldn’t really care much for, add it to his and Danny’s graveyard of rejected lyrics.
Wei resented being called anyone’s father, even though the nitelights were fond of making gif sets about it. Considering his own relationship with his father, Wei was not fond of that title. Wei was not meant to be anyone’s fathers. Besides, he was not the even the oldest member of B.rite. That was Changmin’s job, though he was admittedly not in any shape to father anyone. Mother, maybe. While Wei had a soft spot for all the members, and whatever complicated feelings he had for Danny, Wei felt the need to look after Daehyun. He brought out some type of instinct. Plus, he was so genuinely kind, which was the complete of himself. So, when he saw him floundering, he invited him to take a walk with him and Junior. Or, well, ordered him. Dae needed some sunlight in his life and much like the other younger members of B.rite, he had a difficult time saying no to him.
“Don’t worry, we can get take out. My treat,” he said. His dad might have cut him off years ago, but he had been theoretically let back in with the popularity of B.rite. It would reflect badly if people realized he was a jerk to his only biological son, much less a very beloved member of B.rite. “Besides, you need the calories if you are going to keep working to the bone in the studio. But, first, we have to take my favorite member of B.rite for a walk.” He nuzzled Junior’s face. He was not even a dog person and somehow, the little guy had wormed his way into his heart. He preferred cats before him, not that he ever had a pet before. Cats just seemed so much more low maintenance, so much more like him.
Wei sighed dramatically, “I promise to listen to all that happened in the studio, but we have to be outside first,” he said. Wei was, admittedly, a workaholic as well, but it was easier to notice when it was affecting one of the other members than it was himself. He tilted his head thoughtfully, wondering if it was going to rain. “Bring an umbrella.” Around other people, he would make a joke about him losing the excuse to see him soaked, but for some reason, that felt wrong with Dae.

@idmeiying
taking a seat on a nearby chair, she smiled towards the person she presumed was the producer of the track. “is there anyone else we are waiting for? i’m excited to start recording. the demo that i got to listen to sounded very good.” anything to get the play back onto her terms.
Wei was not exactly used to people avoiding him. At least, not before he did something questionable to them, which happened albeit a bit too often. Though, he supposed Meiying could have been embarrassed about her relationship with Danny. Whatever that was. The two spent an awful lot of time together, considering Danny never talked about her and they were often ending up together on the panns. Then again, Danny never talked about Jia with Wei either. It was for the best, considering his own complicated feelings towards the maknae, but it still meant he had no idea what Meiying thought of him.
He proceeded to sit down next to her, offering a cup of tea he had prepared himself. She was pretty. He wondered if she spoke Mandarin or Cantonese, or both. It would be nice to speak his father’s tongue outside of his house. He usually spoke Korean or Thai with his mom. His dad was not exactly on speaking terms with him at the moment, which meant he was rusty. Though he was proud to consider himself a Korean, he still wanted to keep touch with his roots. Hopefully, Meiying would not judge his pronunciation too harshly.
“I hope you like your tea like this,” he said in Mandarin. He tried to smile comfortingly at her, knowing she was probably nervous. After all, who wouldn’t be? Everyone was always nervous when working with him, whether it was because of how he looked, B.rite, or his dad. Usually, the latter two. “I took a bit of a guess. It’s how I like my tea.”
Always be charming. It was his motto, but they also worked in the same company. It would be better if they got along now, if he took care of the next generation. Besides, her girl group was not in direct competition with his boy group, so there was nothing to worry about. Also, the song was romantic, so there should have been some degree of camaraderie to them. At least he would not have to fake an attraction. She was really pretty. Hopefully, she would not try to jump his bones like Nari though.

Good afternoon everybody, it is Crystal, mother of Wei, Hojun, and Jia about to hit you up with three intro posts. I decided to start with Wei as he literally changed the least of all my kids (because he insists he is perfect as is or something).  Here are some plots we could do or like this intro and I’ll slide into your DMs. Add me on discord: CrystalSnow#8754 or message me on any of my three accounts here.

B.rite did not have the longevity of Celeste, but they did have the benefit of being the only male group currently promoted at Koala.T, which gave them a unique sense of power in the industry. Of course, that meant that everyone wanted a piece of them. So, when Koala.T said they wanted someone to come in for a photoshoot with one of the girls from Divinity, Wei understood it was not really directed at all of them, but towards him. Danny mostly focused on his games and Dae wrote his lyrics. Wei knew he was at least partially chosen for his visuals, it was certainly why he was scouted, and he was clearly the one with the most modeling experience. Besides, once they uttered the name of the other Divinity girl, he knew he was the right person for the job. That did not mean he necessarily had to like it though.
Wei was used to advances, particularly because of who his father was, but it also happened increasingly as an idol. What he was not prepared for was Nari, the member of Divinity most likely to back him into a corner. Being a sweet temptress was her image, but every time they talked, he saw less and less of the sweet part. He knew, objectively, that she was attractive. He was not blind. He was a man, a man with urges and desires like everyone else. Had they been strangers at a bar, he might have gotten her number. Maybe taken her out to a nice meal at a fancy French place, then left her with a kiss on the doorstep or after a make out session in the bushes if it went particularly well. However, they were not strangers and she clearly knew who his family was and that had to be part of the appeal. It was the story of his life and he was not sure why being an idol would make it any different. There was also the fact that his eyes were currently on someone else, albeit, reluctantly.
Wei shook his head. He was her sunbae. What was good for the Divinity was good for Koala.T and therefore good for B.rite. He would be charming and polite. Besides, she was pretty. In a few years, she could be a big name in the modeling game. She could become a valuable connection one day. Wei placed the tea on the craft services table, knowing it would be gone within a moment. He began to prepare himself a cup, before noticing the presence next to him. Instinctively, he started handing the drink to her, always a gentleman. “Good morning Lily,” he said. “I look forward to working with you.”

Born in Hong Kong, moved to Korea when he was four, identifies as such culturally at this point.
Chinese father, Thai mother.
Father owns a large business conglomerate, which he was disowned from after becoming a trainee.
His parents are divorced and hate each other.
Does not have a good relationship with his dad at the moment, but gets along with his stepfamily fine. His mom is a bit in the middle.
Both families are rich as hell and he is very much a snobby baby.
Smart af and a model.
Very big on fitness. Is also known for being practical and pragmatic.
Commonly known as “Father Wei” because he’s the voice of reason in B.rite.
That’s the big difference really, he is now the lead vocal, lead dance of B.rite instead of the main vocal in 1nferno
Will lecture you until the cows come home.
Kind of a snake and secretly believes no one will ever love him for him, but it’s chill
Really

idxwoosung‌:
“i’m just not good enough,” he managed a few moments later, hands curling into fists again. “i can’t do it, and i don’t know why.”
Wei was never good with feelings. The Wangs were fond of shoving emotions, preferring to bottle them deep inside until they popped up in the form of an affair or a hostile takeover of a small foreign company. They never actually talked about their feelings. The Onruangs were not much better. None of it made Wei well adjusted, but the years of rubbing elbows with people he didn’t like made him seem sufficiently charming to get by. Unfortunately, it did not make him a good friend. Aside from his relationships with 1nferno, he ruined every somewhat positive relationship in his life because he was always too “closed off” or “cold” or “selfish”. As it was, he had to work his ass off to keep 1nferno from hating him. It was clear he was not the easiest one to get along with in the group and he was pretty sure the maknaes were occasionally scared of him, though he doubted they would ever say that to his face.
“It happens when you are born this handsome,” he automatically said. Wei regretted immediately afterwards, but he always had a habit of being glib when he was uncomfortable. He cleared his throat and patted Woosung’s back. Oh god, if he cried, Wei did not know what he would do. He never cried himself, even when overwhelmed. He sometimes wondered if his tear ducts still worked. “Just don’t get in your own head. You’re much more likable than all of us. If you get nervous, just turn to me, alright? You don’t have to do this alone. We are all going to be there. And if there’s a lull, I can talk about Seo getting us lost in Chile. You know I nearly lost my shoes to bikers?”
He realized he was avoiding Woosung’s questions, but he probably did not want to hear about how his only option was to lose his emotional purity and become as closed off as him. Besides, Wei did not want him to end up like that. He cared about him way too much for that. “You are good enough. You just need a bit of practice. It’s going to be okay.”

back to school
@idjiyeon
Wei knew Aurora, obviously. They were a big name among rookies, popular, and pristine. Midas was a powerful company and had Wei gotten into the industry on more than just a whim, he might have joined their group of trainees. In another world, he might have been in Titanium and the two of them would have been labelmates. Instead, they were little more than strangers that happened to have the same endorsement. Now, they were brought on for a cf; it was understandable why such a thing happened; Wei’s entire image was romantic and chic and fit with Jiyeon’s image, even if the two of them definitely enjoyed putting on fronts with the world. Really, didn’t everyone in the industry do that though? They were just more determined than a lot of others to remain in the spotlight for a long time, by any means necessary. At least, Wei was. He didn’t know her motivation, but he imagined it was similar.
He brought his customary tea for the crew, figuring it would soothe all the nerves roaming around. He was never one much for coffee and it was something he was getting to be known for, something that gave him a reputation for being considerate to the underlings. Oh, Wei is so polite, he is such an angel. He is such a responsible young man. It always left a good impression and made it more likely they would hire him again. He loved 1nferno, but he definitely needed more solo work so he could get his name out there, aside from being “that pretty but boring one”. Yes, he did not exactly have any earth shattering scandals to his name so far, but that also meant he was considerably bland. It was enviable as the heir to a conglomerate, but not so much to an idol.
He donned his uniform and headed over to makeup, which was where he finally saw Jiyeon. He placed a polite smile on his face and sat in the makeup chair next to her. Wei debated how to address her, before settling on something a bit more friendly. “How are you doing today, noona? I am looking forward to working with you.”

idseokyung‌:
“doubt it. streets seem pretty dead or you know, not like any taxis would pass by around here soooo, let’s just keep walking. we gotta reach somewhere eventually! it’s not like this is the end of the world, we’ll come across somewhere and you’ll have no choice but to say ‘oh great on, you were right, as always’ and then we’ll ride into the sunset, happy and shit and hopefully drunk as fuck.” so he keeps holding wei while they walk, “are you mad at your hyung? be honest.”
“I wouldn’t call it mad. Annoyed, maybe,” he said. “Irritated, a little. Also, I definitely thinks this is going to be brought up in all the variety shows we are on from now on. And I am going to make sure they know it is your fault,” he said, only half-joking. Wei was definitely going to bring it up the next time there was a lull; clearly, all of 1nferno was only decent at variety while with each other, playing off of each other. They had that type of dynamic. Alone, most of them were not exactly fun to watch, with the exception of Danny, who was clearly the variety king of 1nferno. However, Wei had to step up his game to keep them in the spotlight. Apparently, being good singers and dancers was not good enough for the netizens.
“I could never be mad at my hyung,” he said, surprisingly honestly. 1nferno was like his family. Albeit, a very dysfunctional family with one member having funny feelings towards another member, but Danny was always like a distant cousin more than anything. “But again, you are going to be retired and I am still going to be telling this story. Even to our grandkids,” he said. Wei reluctantly patted him on the back, wanting to show him he didn’t mean all of it. Though, he definitely meant some of it. He was frankly a little too honest around his fellow members, especially when he wanted some decent merlot.
“Fine, no taxis. No directions. I guess there’s no one else I’d rather be lost with in Chile,” Wei said. “Besides, you’re more likely to get me home than Woosung and Danny. You know, they would end up in an entirely different country without us.” He smiled at his hyung. Well, at the very least, the trip would be memorable. “Let’s just walk into a bar. Maybe after we buy a few drinks, they will call a cab for us. No need to ruin the night,” he said. Besides, it was better than sitting in the street to get robbed blind. “Though, try not to get too drunk. I don’t want to have to carry you back.”

idxjinhwan‌:
“oh, excuse me!” jinhwan called as he caught up to danny, moving to stand in front of him. he put on his most charming smile, cute and disarming. “i don’t think i got a chance to introduce myself! i’m jinhwan, from xlnc.” he gave a quick bow, his bangs fluttering around his forehead with the movement. “i’ve heard a lot about you from wei,” he added eagerly, turning on the charm. he didn’t know how danny felt about him, or if he’d heard anything bad about jinhwan from wei, but he wanted to try as hard as possible to get danny on his side. jinhwan let out a chuckle, sending out a silent apology out to jia, wherever she was, for what he was planning to do. “sorry for chasing after you, but i couldn’t wait to meet you.”
Wei had never understood violent urges. He never had them, had never been that kind of person. It all seemed incredibly uncivilized, no matter how angry he was, no matter how upset. The only time he had ever had that overwhelming emotion was when he had shoved Jinhwan, back when they ended their friendship. However, watching Jinhwan make his way to Danny made him feel all sorts of violent emotions and desires. Most of them ended with his fist clashing with Jinhwan’s throat. He cursed his past self for ever thinking of trusting him with something so personal. No one else knew his dirty little secret aside from him, so of course he was going to lord it over him.
He went through all the potential scenarios; the worst one seemed to be Jinhwan announcing in front of everyone that he had romantic feelings for Danny. It was, thankfully, highly unlikely. It could backfire on him if he outed him, especially if it was his word against him. No, it was much more likely he would just tell Danny; it would not necessarily ruin his career, but it would be incredibly mortifying, especially since they were currently roommates. It could lead to 1nferno going up in actual flames. Wei suddenly wished he had just left Danny rooming with Woosung, though he had done it for the good of the group. Also, to protect Woosung’s innocence. After all, there was a good chance Woosung was inevitably going to walk in one day on Danny and Jia one day and that was something no one wanted.
Before he quite knew what was happening, Wei was making his way towards Jinhwan and Danny, like a man possessed. He wondered if it would have been better or worse if he badmouthed Jinhwan to Danny before they officially met; instead, he had avoided the conversations about what had happened between the two of them, including with Danny. He found himself in front of the two of them, smiling in the same way he did at every family function that was going to end up on the tabloids. “Oh, I am so happy you two finally have a chance to meet. What are we talking about?”

idxdaehyun :
“To be honest, singing is kind of all I want to do.” Daehyun shrugged and gave Wei another shy, mildly lopsided smile. “That and producing. I guess as long as it has to do with music and less so me having to entertain people by being funny or anything, I’m willing to try, though.” He had always been so set on this idea of his future, now it was a bit hard to imagine an alternate reality where he focused his efforts on something else. “You did some modeling, right? Is that what you want to do, next to singing?”
Daehyun had no way of knowing that was such a complicated question for him. In a sense, modeling did make him happy. He was not sure why; yes, he was attractive and he adored showing it off to anyone who was willing to see it, but that was not really the appeal. He adored the fact that it was something that was his, something he had not gotten because of who his dad was, but based on his own abilities. Admittedly, he had been born with the face he had, but he had to maintain it. Besides, there was actual skill involved in modeling. He had to take some pride in it. It was also what led him on the path to being an idol. They were the only two jobs he ever had, but also more than he ever expected. “I like modeling. Not more than singing, but I’ve been doing since I was fifteen. It would be really weird for me to stop,” he said. “Still, I also want to try my hand at producing someday. Maybe not for myself though.” He would rather not be held accountable for his own words. Others could instead. “Well, not at first. I mean, I like the credit, but that would definitely be a way to get my name out there.” Besides, they would then owe him one.
“It’s a tough market these days Daehyun. If you want to be the one on top, you have to be good at a lot of things. You have to differentiate you from everyone else,” he said. “And sometimes you have to do a whole lot of stuff you don’t like. For example, variety..” Mostly because none of the other 1nferno members were good at it, except for Danny. Wei was clearly the lesser of the evils. Plus, he had a mostly clean reputation, especially if he did not talk about his dad. Or Jinhwan. “It’s good to go in with a plan. Start sucking up as a trainee. Trust me. It will pay off,” he said. “Also, behave. Something is always going to get out if you don’t.” He shrugged his shoulders. “Or at least, be careful.”

idseokyung‌:
“we’ll ask someone else, let’s keep walking. left or right? you get to choose and if you hesitate, then you’re an idiot just like myself. so choose wisely.”
“And people wonder why I always list you as the member of 1nferno I am least likely to date,” Wei muttered. “Left.” It was a completely random choice, but he figured random is what they were going for at the moment. Besides, he was not about to die in Chile at the hand of shady characters. They probably did not know where their high priced hotel was anyways, especially based on their off brand pleather jackets. He cleared his throat. “So, oh great one, why could’t we drink in the hotel again? I know for a fact there was a nice Cabernet there. And people who I can actually talk to.” He was glad Junior was safely in the hotel during this excursion, as were Woosung and Danny presumably. He could only take care of one child at the moment. Admittedly, Seokyung was the last one he ever expected to get him in this mess. He sighed. “Good thing you’re pretty, or else I would never forgive you,” he joked. Sighing, he began the walk left, leading the way though it made no sense.
Father Wei was not exactly a title he liked, especially since he was not the oldest, though he was arguably the most responsible. At least, that was his image. Clearly, his dad would disagree, especially if he could see him now in that moment. Why did he agree to do this? It was so out of his comfort zone. Maybe it was because Seokyung was one of the few people he enjoyed spending time with. That being said, this night was definitely going to put a mark in their track record. Wei held grudges and he was not going to let Seokyung forget their brush with death just because he was forgiving towards his group mates. He was definitely bringing it up next time 1nferno had a movie night and they refused to watch Wei’s choice. He huffed. “Any chance there are taxis in this part of town?” He doubted it, but still worth an ask. He wasn’t normally a drinker, but he was going to need several glasses of fancy wine if they ever found the location they were going for.
