My embroidery collection inspired by fashion and music diva Grace Jones and her music video art created by Jean Paul Goude.
Enslave yourself to the 80s rhythm!
We had the greatest pleasure creating the set of the show too. Tangled in meshy strips of fabric catwalk was lit by lighting designer Shaun Murphy.
We collaborated with interaction design students to create audio-reactive projections which we projected on the fabrics during the show.

FASHION SHOW 2017 project!
Taking inspiration from music and fashion diva Grace Jones and her 80s music video art created by Jean Paul Goude I was working on millions of xerographies from which I then moved on to sampling with all kinds of clash’y materials, colourful beads with funky textures. I explored fabric manipulation techniques in combination with embellishment. Shiny disco fabrics combined with pastel colours and stripes. Going a bit crazy in a good way with this I was seeking for unconventional look and ‘screaming’ colours yet subtly pleasing the eye. One of my ideas for a party dress resulted in this garment.

FASHION SHOW 2017 project!
Taking inspiration from music and fashion diva Grace Jones and her 80s music video art created by Jean Paul Goude I was working on millions of xerographies. I was very happy to explore the technique more in depth than before and push it forward us much as possible.
Exploring bold colours, a thousand ways of moving my drawings around the scanner my work resulted in these drawings. Trying to keep up with the rhythm of Grace Jones and hoping not to lose the funky vibes.
