☆ CAN’T BARE TO HEAR IT
hq -- tsukishima kei x gn!reader
summary: tsukishima can’t bare to hear most of the songs in his playlist, as they all remind him of you.
warnings: uhhh angst?? reader and tsukki broke up,,, i suggest listening to champagne coast—especially from 1:56-2:26 and the end of the song 🌝
word count: 164
tsukishima groans, grabbing his phone from beside him and hitting the skip button for what seems to be the hundredth time.
no matter how many artists he listened to, how many playlists he switched, tsukishima had found himself thinking about you as every song came on.
tsukishima muttered a soft ‘damn it’ as he angrily huffed and laid down on his bed. he was staring at the ceiling, headphones now taken off as music freely plays from his phone’s small speaker.
he hit skip one more time, hoping for something that wouldn’t make him think of you.
but it was the song. champagne coast.
the song that made the memories so vivid. the song that made him envision you—head out the sunroof while the sun sets. the song that makes every memory of your cherished relationship flood back into his mind.
tsukishima’s heart sinks for a split second. all of the fun memories replaying in his head as his heartbeat speeds up, breathing becoming a little heavier.
he closed his eyes. relishing in the fond memories that you two held together. the music only making his brain dig deeper for more shared memories.
as the song comes to an end, tsukishima realizes that the closest he’ll ever get to you again is through this song. through his memories.
a/n: i am unhealthily obsessed with this song. but on a real note i absolutely HATE when i attach a song to a person it makes my heart drop everytime i hear it😓

summary: facing difficult challenges with your boyfriend.
warnings: angsty but comfort, slight food mentions (most of them are over dinner srry i was hungry😭), some crying, srry if some things get a bit repetitive :(
word count: 1.8k
✦ AKAASHI KEIJI. betrayal
akaashi had always prided himself on his reliability and thoughtfulness, traits that had endeared him. the two of you had been together for over a year, sharing moments of laughter, support, and affection. however, recently, akaashi found himself caught in a situation that would test the foundation of your relationship.
it started innocently enough—a new colleague at work who seemed to admire akaashi’s dedication and skill. you noticed the extra attention the colleague gave akaashi during team meetings and trips, but you trusted your boyfriend completely. until one evening, when you decided to surprise akaashi at his workplace with dinner, only to witness a scene that shattered your trust.
akaashi and the colleague were sharing a private conversation, their body language too close for your liking. your heart sank as you overheard bits of flirtatious banter, it made your stomach churn with a mix of anger and hurt. without confronting them, you quietly left the scene, feeling betrayed and unsure of what to do next.
later that night, akaashi returned home to find you sitting on the couch, eyes red-rimmed from tears. his heart sank as he immediately sensed something was wrong.
"y/n, what happened?" akaashi asked softly, sitting down beside you and reaching out tentatively.
you looked up, gaze piercing with a mix of sadness and disappointment. "i saw you, keiji," they whispered, their voice trembling with emotion. "with your colleague." a part of you didn’t like that you were so pent up over this. they were just colleagues, maybe she was only getting to know him. but the words they were throwing around proved different.
akaashi’s heart dropped as he realized what you must have witnessed. "i... i’m so sorry," he began, his usually composed demeanor faltering. "it’s not what you think."
you shook your head, pulling away slightly. "i saw enough," you replied, voice barely above a whisper.
akaashi took a deep breath, feeling the weight of his mistake settling heavily on his shoulders. "i never meant to hurt you," he murmured, his voice filled with regret. "i was... i got caught up in the attention, and i made a terrible mistake."
you remained silent, struggling to process your emotions. akaashi continued, his words coming out in a rush as he desperately tried to make amends. "please believe me, y/n. i love you. i’m so sorry for what i did. i never meant to betray your trust."
tears welled up in your eyes once again as you looked at akaashi, torn between the pain of betrayal and the love you had for him. "i trusted you," you whispered hoarsely, voice cracking with emotion.
akaashi reached out, gently taking your hands in his, his own eyes brimming with tears. "i know, and i’m so sorry," he repeated, his voice filled with sincerity. "i’ll do whatever it takes to earn back your trust. please, give me a chance to make things right."
you searched his eyes, seeing the genuine remorse and love reflected back at you. slowly, you nodded, a flicker of hope lit up in your heart. "i... i need time," you replied softly, voice still wavering. "but i want to believe we can work through this."
akaashi nodded, squeezing your hands gently. "i’ll wait," he promised, his voice steady despite the pain in his heart. "i’ll do whatever it takes."

✦ KENMA KOZUME. different priorities
kenma was known for his dedication to gaming, his skillful maneuvers and strategic thinking making him a force to be reckoned with on and off the virtual battlefield. you admired his passion and supported his endeavors, but lately, you found yourself struggling to find common ground.
one evening, as you and kenma sat together in his room, you reached a topic that had been weighing on your mind for a while. "ken, can we talk?"
kenma glanced up from his game, adjusting his glasses with a slight nod. "sure, what's on your mind?"
"it’s just..." you hesitated, choosing your words carefully. "i feel like we have different priorities sometimes."
kenma’s face contorts into confusion, pausing the game and giving you his full attention. "what are you talking about?"
"well," you began. "you spend a lot of time gaming, which is totally fine. i respect that it's something you love and are passionate about. but sometimes i feel like we don't have as much time together as i would like."
kenma’s expression softened as he processed your words. "i understand," he replied quietly, setting aside his controller. "i do spend a lot of time gaming. it’s... it's my way of relaxing and focusing."
you nodded, gaze fixed on your hands. "i get that, and i don't want to take that away from you. but sometimes i wish we could do more things together, you know? like go out, or just spend quality time."
kenma sighed softly, running a hand through his hair. "i know i haven't been very good at balancing things lately," he admitted, his voice quiet with regret. "i guess i didn't realize how much it was affecting you."
you reached out, gently taking kenma’s hand in yours. "it’s not just about the time," you explained. "it’s also about feeling connected and valued."
kenma squeezed your hand, his gaze soft with understanding. "i’m sorry," he murmured, his voice sincere. "i didn't mean to make you feel that way. you’re important to me, more than anything."
you smiled softly, feeling a wave of relief wash over. "i know, ken. and i know gaming is a big part of who you are. i just want us to find a balance that works for both of us."
kenma nodded thoughtfully, his mind racing with thoughts of how he could make things better. "I want that too," he replied earnestly. "I'll try to be more mindful of how I spend my time. And maybe... maybe we can plan some activities together."
your smile widened, grateful for kenma’s willingness to compromise. "that sounds perfect," you agreed, leaning in to press a gentle kiss to his cheek. "thank you for listening."
kenma blushed slightly at the gesture, a small smile tugging at his lips. "thank you for understanding.”

✦ SUGAWARA KOUSHI. fear of abandonment
sugawara had always been dependable and supportive. his gentle demeanor and caring nature endeared him to many, including you. despite your loving relationship, sugawara found himself drowned by a lingering fear—one that threatened to ruin his happiness.
after a quiet dinner together at your place, sugawara sat on the couch, fidgeting nervously. you noticed his unease and gently asked, "koushi, is everything alright?"
sugawara hesitated, his thoughts racing. "i... i’m just worried," he finally admitted, his voice laced with vulnerability.
"worried about what?" you asked softly, moving closer to him.
he looked down, unable to meet your gaze. "i’m scared that you might leave me someday," he confessed, voice barely above a whisper.
your heart sank at his words, realizing the depth of your boyfriend’sinsecurity. "koushi," you began gently, "why would you think that?"
sugawara sighed heavily, shoulders slumping with the weight of his fears. "i’ve been hurt before," he admitted quietly. "in past relationships, people have left me when things got tough or when they found someone better."
your expression was soft with empathy as you listened, realizing how deeply sugawara’s past experiences had affected him. "i get it," you whispered, reaching out to gently cup his face in your hands. "but i’m not going anywhere, koushi. you mean so much to me."
he finally looked up, eyes glistening with unshed tears. "i know, but... but what if i’m not enough? what if i can't make you happy?"
you shook your head, your voice firm but filled with tenderness. "you make me happy, baby. your kindness, your support, everything about you—it's what i love."
sugawara’s breath hitched at your words, a mixture of relief and gratitude washing over him. "thank you," he whispered, leaning into your touch.
you pulled him into a comforting embrace, holding him close. "we all have fears, koushi," you murmured against his shoulder. "but i’m here, and i’m not going anywhere.”
sugawara closed his eyes, feeling a sense of reassurance settle in his heart. "i... i’m sorry for doubting," he admitted softly, his voice trembling slightly.
"it’s okay," you assured him, pressing a kiss to his temple. "i’m here to remind you whenever you need it."
—
✦ TSUKISHIMA KEI. manipulation
your boyfriend was known for his sharp wit and aloof demeanor, qualities that often masked his insecurities and vulnerabilities. you had always admired his intelligence and dry humor, but lately, you had started to notice a pattern in the relationship.
after a tense argument over a little matter, tsukishima retreated to his room, leaving you feeling hurt and confused. as you sat alone in the living room, replaying the conversation in your mind, you couldn't shake the feeling that tsukishima’s words had crossed a line.
after gathering your thoughts, you took a deep breath and approached tsukishima’s room. knocking softly, you waited for him to respond.
"what?" his voice came through the door, tinted with irritation.
you pushed the door open slowly, stepping into his room with a determined expression. "we need to talk," you began firmly.
tsukishima looked up from his desk, eyebrows furrowing slightly at the seriousness in your voice. "about what?"
"about how you've been treating me, kei," you replied, voice steady despite the rising emotions. "you can't keep manipulating me emotionally whenever things don't go your way."
tsukishima scoffed lightly, leaning back in his chair. "i have no idea what you're talking about."
"don’t play dumb, kei," you retorted, patience wearing thin. "you know exactly what i mean. everytime we argue, you twist things around to make me feel guilty or doubt myself."
tsukishima’s expression hardened slightly, his defenses rising. "maybe you're just too sensitive."
you shook your head, refusing to back down. "no, kei. i’m not going to let you do this again. it’s not okay to manipulate someone's emotions just to win an argument or get your way."
silence hung in the air as tsukishima stared at you, his usual composure wavering under your gaze. finally, he sighed heavily, adjusting his glasses.
"i.. i didn't realize..." tsukishima started, his voice quieter than usual. "i didn't mean to..."
you crossed your arms, tone softening slightly. "i know you didn't mean to hurt me intentionally, but it's been happening more often lately. and i can't ignore it anymore."
tsukishima looked down, his hands clenched into fists. "i... i’m sorry," he murmured, the words barely audible.
you took a step closer, expression softening with empathy. "i know you have your own insecurities and struggles, kei," you began gently. "but we need to work through them together, without resorting to manipulation."
he met your gaze, his own eyes reflecting a mix of guilt and gratitude. "i... i’ll try," he promised, his voice sincere. "i’ll do better."
you nodded, feeling accomplished. "thank you," you said softly, reaching out to hug him.

☆ BUMP IN THE ROAD
hq -- kageyama tobio x gn!reader, iwaizumi hajime x gn!reader, kuroo tetsurou x gn!reader, oikawa tooru x gn!reader
summary: facing difficult challenges with your boyfriend.
warnings: angsty but comfort, slight food mentions (most of them are over dinner srry i was hungry😭), some crying
word count: 1.9k
✦ KAGEYAMA TOBIO. miscommunication
you knew that volleyball was important to your boyfriend. heck, everyone in school knew. at the start of the season, you were still able to see kageyama in between class periods and lunch break. but as the season went on, you noticed that it was becoming harder to see kageyama at school and outside of school. sometimes he would even skip lunch breaks to practice. it was clear that kageyama was dedicated to training and improving his skills. it was also clear that practicing 24/7 left him with little time for anything else.
you had patiently been waiting for an opportunity to spend quality time with kageyama. earlier today, you texted him and asked if he would like to come over and eat dinner with you. at first, you were left on read. you were worried to say the least. it's been around 2 since you've last spent time with him in person. as you were looking back at the previous messages between you and kageyama, there was a pattern with his texts. they've all been short and quick. around an hour later, you had gotten a notification that he had liked your message. taking that as a sign that he was on his way to your place, you had started to make his favorite meal, and as if on cue, there was a knock on the door.
“hey, tobio,” you greeted him with a soft smile as you opened the door.
“hey,” he mumbled, head tilted down as he swiftly walked in and took his shoes off.
those were the only words exchanged for a while. the both of you were sitting at your kitchen island, the only noise that was heard were the forks scraping against your plates.
“tobio?” you looked up at him. his hair was disheveled, eyebags evident on his face, and his eyes were empty.
"tobio?" you repeated softly, concern evnident in your voice. his demeanor was so different from the lively, determined kageyama you knew.
he glanced up briefly, meeting your gaze for a fleeting moment before his eyes dropped again. "sorry," he murmured, pushing his food around on his plate without much appetite.
you hesitated, unsure of how to approach the growing distance between you. "is everything okay?" you asked gently, reaching out to touch his hand.
he tensed slightly at your touch, pulling his hand away, as if a reflex. "i'm fine," he replied curtly, his tone cold.
the air between you thickened with tension. you knew kageyama well enough to recognize when something was bothering him, but getting him to open up was always a challenge.
"i... i missed you," you admitted quietly, hoping your vulnerability would help him speak his mind.
he sighed heavily, running a hand through his already disheveled hair. "i know," he said finally, his voice hinted with frustration. "i've just been... stressed. there's a lot ofpressure this season, and i feel like i'm letting everyone down if i don't keep improving."
you listened attentively, heart aching for the weight he carried on his shoulders. "you're not letting anyone down, tobio," you assured him gently. "we all see how hard you're working, and we're proud of you. but... i miss you too. i miss us."
he looked up at you then, sadness in his eyes. "i miss us too," he admitted quietly, remorse clear in his tone. "i'm sorry if i've been distant. i just... i want to be the best for the team, for myself."
you nodded understandingly, reaching out to hold his hand again, this time finding no resistance. "you don't have to do it alone, tobio," you murmured, squeezing his hand reassuringly. "we're here for you. i'm here for you."
he squeezed your hand back gratefully, a small, tired smile tugging at his lips. "thank you," he whispered, his voice laced with emotion.
—
✦ IWAIZUMI HAJIME. lies
iwaizumi had been acting unusually distant and preoccupied for the past few days, which hadn't gone unnoticed by you. despite your attempts to engage him in conversation or spend time together, iwaizumi seemed to be avoiding them, always coming up with excuses about extra training sessions or team meetings.
one evening, after a particularly long and tiring day for both of you, you decided to surprise him with dinner at his place. you had been looking forward to some quality time together, hoping it would give you guys a chance to reconnect. right as you arrived at his doorstep with bags of groceries in hand, you were surprised to find iwaizumi already home, looking visibly surprised and flustered at your unexpected visit.
"hey, haji," you greeted him with a smile, trying to ignore the tension in the air. "i thought i'd make us dinner tonight. i hope that's okay."
iwaizumi hesitated for a moment, glancing nervously towards the kitchen. "actually, um, i have plans with the team tonight," he replied, his voice sounding strained.
your smile faltered slightly, a disappointed expression creeping onto your face. "but you said you were free tonight," you pointed out gently, feeling a wave of hurt.
iwaizumi sighed, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. "yeah, something came up last minute. it's important, i promise," he insisted, avoiding your gaze.
feeling a mix of frustration and confusion, you couldn't help but press further. "hajime, is everything okay? you've been distant lately, and now this..."
he looked torn, clearly struggling with his next words. "it's just... there's been a lot going on with the team. i didn't want to worry you," he finally admitted, his voice tinged with guilt.
your eyebrows furrowed. "so you lied to me?" you asked softly, hurt evident in your tone.
iwaizumi looked torn, realizing the weight of his actions. "i didn't mean to," he started, but you interrupted, your frustration bubbling over.
"you didn't mean to lie, or you didn't mean to hurt me?" you questioned, your voice going against you as it trembled slightly.
iwaizumi sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "i'm sorry," he apologized sincerely, meeting your gaze finally. "i didn't handle this well. i just... i didn't want to burden you with my problems."
you softened slightly, recognizing the sincerity in his apology. "i understand, but i want us to be honest with each other, hajime," you said firmly, your hurt still lingering.
he nodded, reaching out to gently touch your arm. "i know. i'll do better," he promised as he got up from where he was, and engulfed you in a hug.
—
✦ KUROO TETSUROU. past actions
kuroo had been unusually quiet all evening, a brooding intensity replaced his normally easy going demeanor. as you and your boyfriend sat across from each other at the dinner table, the tension in the air was obvious. you glanced up from your plate, sensing something was wrong.
"is everything okay, tetsu?" you asked tentatively, voice breaking the uneasy silence.
kuroo sighed heavily, setting down his fork with more force than necessary. "no, not really."
you furrowed your brows, concerned. "what’s wrong? you’ve been distant all day."
"that’s the thing," he began, tone tinged with frustration. "it’s not just today. i feel like we keep having the same issues, over and over again."
your heart sank as you realized what kuroo was referring to—the unresolved problems from your past arguments that always seemed to resurface. you knew you couldn't avoid this conversation any longer.
"i thought we had talked through most of those," you replied softly, trying to keep your voice steady.
"yeah, but it feels like we never really resolve anything," kuroo argued, his voice rising slightly. "remember that time we fought about—"
"don’t bring that up again, tetsu," you interrupted, frustration bubbling to the surface. "we settled that, didn't we?"
"but did we really?" kuroo shot back, his frustration now fully unleashed. "it’s like we just patch things up for the moment, and then it all comes back."
the argument escalated, both of you bringing up problems that had long been buried but never fully addressed. voices rose, words became sharper as each accusation hit closer to home. kuroo felt a pang of guilt for bringing up the past, but he couldn't shake the feeling of dissatisfaction that had been gnawing at him.
you fought back tears, feeling the weight of the unresolved issues crushing you. "i thought we were better than this," you choked out, voice trembling.
kuroo’s expression softened momentarily at the sight of your watery eyes, but his frustration lingered. "i do too, but how do we move forward if we can't even talk about this?"
the argument reached it's peak, both of you hurt and exhausted. kuroo sighed heavily once more, running a hand through his hair in frustration. you stared down at your plate, tears silently streaming down your face.
"i.. don't know," you finally whispered, the fight draining out.
kuroo’s heart sank at the defeated tone in your voice. he realized then how much you both needed to find a way to resolve your problems—not just for the sake of the relationship, but for your own peace of mind.
"i’m sorry," kuroo murmured, his voice barely audible. "i just... i want us to be okay."
you looked up, meeting kuroo’s eyes with a mix of sadness and longing.
"me too," you whispered back, a glimmer of hope flickering in your eyes.
—
✦ OIKAWA TOORU. jealousy and insecurities
oikawa had always been charismatic, charming, and surrounded by admirers—both on and off the court. you had always been supportive of his career and his popularity, but lately, found yourself struggling with a growing sense of insecurity.
one evening after a particularly intense match, you and oikawa were walking back to his apartment when a group of fangirls approached, giggling and asking for autographs. oikawa agreed with his usual friendly smile and playful banter, much to the delight of his fans. you stood slightly behind him, feeling invisible and increasingly uneasy.
as you finally entered oikawa’s apartment, you couldn't contain their feelings any longer. "tooru, can we talk for a moment?"
he turned towards you with a grin, still buzzing from the excitement of the match. "of course, what's on your mind?"
"it’s just..." you hesitated, unsure how to voice your feelings without sounding petty. "i feel like you don't notice how much attention you get from other girls."
oikawa’s expression shifted to confusion, his brows furrowing slightly. "what do you mean?"
you took a deep breath, trying to gather your thoughts. iI mean... those fangirls. they’re always around you, and you're so nice to them, which is great! but sometimes, i feel... i feel like i’m not enough. like i can't compete with all those girls who adore you."
your boyfriend’s eyes widened as he finally understood your feelings. "y/n, i didn't realize you felt like this." he stepped closer, gently taking your face in his hands. "i appreciate my fans, but you... you're the most important person to me. no one compares to you."
you felt a rush of relief hearing oikawa’s reassuring words, but the insecurities still lingered. "i know, but sometimes it's hard not to feel jealous."
oikawa nodded, his expression softening with understanding. "i get it now. i’m sorry if I made you feel that way. i’ll try to be more aware of how my interactions might affect you."
you hugged him gratefully, feeling a weight lift off your shoulders. "thank you, tooru. i needed to hear that."
he pressed a kiss to your forehead. "i’m here for you, always. don’t hesitate to tell me when something's bothering you."

☆ LAZY DAY IN
hq -- kenma kozume x gn!reader
summary: a day of video games with your boyfriend, kenma.
warnings: nothing, fluff!
word count: 391
it was a lazy saturday afternoon, the soft glow of the sunset casting a warm hue through the curtains of kenma’s room. you sat criss-crossed on the floor, controller in hand, focused on a game of mario kart. kenma, reclined on his bed with his handheld console, occasionally glanced over to watch your intense focus as you navigated through the tracks.
"watch out for that banana peel," he murmured softly, barely audible over the cheerful music from the game.
you chuckled, maneuvering around to avoid the obstacle. "thanks for the warning," you replied, your eyes flickering to meet his for a brief moment before returning to the screen.
moments like these were cherished in your relationship with kenma. he wasn't one for grand gestures or extravagant dates, but there was a quiet comfort in these simple, shared moments. gaming together was a significant part of your bond, a shared passion that brought you closer in ways words couldn't capture.
after a competitive race that ended in a close tie, kenma set aside his console and joined you on the floor. he leaned against you lightly, his shoulder brushing yours. it was a gesture that spoke volumes in its simplicity—a silent reassurance of his presence and affection.
he gives your temple a quick peck. "want to try that new puzzle game i downloaded?" kenma asked casually, breaking the comfortable silence that you were in.
you nodded eagerly, setting aside the controllers and reaching for the second console. as he booted up the game, the two of you began to solve the intricate puzzles together. kenma’s quiet voice occasionally guided you with subtle hints, his eyes lighting up with a rare spark of excitement when you solved a particularly tricky level.
hours passed with shared laughter, gentle teasing, and the occasional shout when you passed a difficult puzzle. the day led into evening, and eventually, the soft glow of the moon replaced the fading sunlight outside.
as you sat together, side by side, surrounded by the soft hum of consoles and the warm comfort of each other's presence, you couldn't help but feel a deep sense of satisfaction. with kenma, it wasn't just about the games or the moments spent together—it was about the quiet understanding, the unspoken support, and the knowledge that in each other's company, you were exactly where you belonged.
a/n: who do i write next😨

☆ A NOTE OF QUIET SUPPORT
hq -- kenma kozume x pianist!gn!reader
summary: kenma might not be there physically at your performances, but he shows his support from afar.
warnings: nothing really, fluff
word count: 599
for weeks on end, you have been practicing a classical piano piece, as you were invited to perform at your school’s annual festival. everyday after school, you've been staying in the music room, always sitting at the grand piano with your music sheets on display in front of you. on some days, kenma would accompany you. he would sit on one of the keyboard stools, eyes staring and concentrating on the game on his phone.
even if you had urged him to get to practice on time, kenma would always tell you that he would be fine a few minutes late (he wouldn't, kuroo would have him do a lap).
knowing that your boyfriend wasn't fond of crowded areas, you were delighted when a link to a livestream of the festival was sent out.
“look ken! i know you don't like being surrounded by tons of people, so you can stay home and watch me perform from the livestream!” you excitedly showed him the link on your phone.
kenma glanced up from his game, a faint smile touching his lips as he looked at your phone. "thanks, y/n. i appreciate it," he replied softly, his gaze returning to his phone screen.
the day of the festival arrived, and nerves fluttered in your stomach as you prepared backstage. the auditorium buzzed with excitement, students and parents filling the seats. you took deep breaths, focusing on your sheet music and mentally rehearsing each note.
meanwhile, at home, kenma had set up his laptop, the livestream of the festival ready to go. he sat comfortably in his room, surrounded by the quietness he preferred. as your performance approached, he felt a mix of anticipation and pride for you.
when your turn finally came, the camera panned to the stage, capturing the elegance of the grand piano and your presence. kenma watched intently, his heart swelling with admiration as your fingers danced across the keys, bringing the intricate melody to life.
he noticed the slight nervousness in your expression at first, but as you went on with the piece, your confidence grew. each note resonated through the speakers in his room, filling the space with the beauty of your performance. kenma found himself in awe by your skill, his focus solely on you despite the distractions of his game just beside him.
as you reached the climax of the piece, pouring your heart into the music, kenma felt a surge of emotion. he knew how much effort you had put into practicing, the late hours spent perfecting every measure. in that moment, watching you shine on stage, he couldn't have been prouder.
the applause echoed through the auditorium as you took your bow, a smile of relief and joy spreading across your face. back in his room, kenma couldn't help but smile too, a rare expression of pure happiness danced across his face.
later that evening, you stopped by kenma’a place, flushed with the exhilaration of your performance, he greeted you with a warm hug. "you were amazing," he muttered into your ear, his voice sincere and filled with admiration.
you melted into his embrace, feeling his quiet support and love enveloping you. "thank you for watching," you whispered, knowing that for kenma, being present in his own way meant more than words could say.
as you settled into the evening together, watching the highlights of the festival in each other's company, you couldn't help but feel grateful for kenma’s subtle but heartfelt way of showing his love and support. in his own quiet way, he had made your performance day unforgettable.

☆ ACTIONS OVER WORDS
hq -- tsukishima kei x gn!reader
summary: tsukishima kei doesn't know how to say he's sorry. so instead, he tries apologizing in a different way.
warnings: a bittt angsty but fluff in the end, brief food mentions, tsukki calls reader overbearing, nothing too much :)
word count: 768
there he was, sitting on the couch with his head lolled on the headrest. what had started as a small disagreement between the two of you became a heated argument, which resulted in tsukishima calling you overbearing.
in your defense, you were just reminding your boyfriend to eat his meals everyday. this was the third time this week that you had reminded him, but something about today really ticked him off.
after tsukishima had gotten the last word in, he caught a glimpse of your face before you headed off into your shared bedroom. it was clear that you were upset with him, and you had every right to be. you weren't being overbearing at all. you were just being the kind person that he fell in love with. the person who looked out for everyone that they loved.
tsukishima looked at his phone. 6:43pm. he’s been sitting on the couch for a good 15 minutes trying to think of something to say to you. he wanted to say something sincere, something that would be genuine, but no matter how hard he thought, no matter how long he sat and waited for something to come to him, nothing was coming to mind.
that’s when tsukishima thought of a different tactic.
he had gone online and searched up your favorite take out place, ordering something for the both of you. once the food had arrived, tsukishima finally built up the courage to knock on the bedroom door. when he was met with silence, his hand hovered over the doorknob for a second, ultimately coming to the decision to walk in.
“oi y/n, i- uh.. i ordered takeout for us, if you're hungry," tsukishima stammered, feeling the weight of his words from earlier still heavy on his shoulders. he hesitated for a moment, unsure if you would even want to see him.
inside the dimly lit bedroom, you were seated on the edge of the bed, your back turned towards him. you had been replaying the argument in your mind, questioning whether you were indeed being too pushy. your thoughts were interrupted by his voice, and despite feeling hurt, you couldn't deny the rumbling in your stomach at the mention of food.
you turned slightly to look at him, noticing the takeout bags in his hands. the gesture made your heart melt. tsukishima cleared his throat nervously, taking a small step closer. "i... i know i was out of line earlier. you were just looking out for me," he began, his voice low. "i appreciate that, really. i'm sorry for calling you overbearing."
you remained silent, your gaze fixed on the floor as you processed his words. tsukishima shifted uncomfortably at the doorframe. "can we... can we talk about this?" he asked tentatively, taking another small step forward. "or at least, can we eat together?"
you glanced up at him, seeing the sincerity in his eyes. despite the hurt feelings, you knew that tsukishima wasn't one to apologize easily. the fact that he had ordered your favorite food showed that he was trying, in his own way, to make amends.
finally, you nodded silently, gesturing towards the bed. tsukishima exhaled quietly in relief, setting the takeout containers down on the bedside table before joining you. for a while, neither of you spoke as you ate, the quietness was comfortable.
after a few minutes, tsukishima broke the silence cautiously. "i mean it, y/n. i shouldn't have said those things. i know you care about me, and i... i care about you too." his voice was hesitant, but genuine.
you looked at him then, meeting his gaze. "i know," you replied softly, your tone was enough for tsukishima to know you were forgiving him. "i just... sometimes i worry, you know?"
he nodded, his expression serious. "i get that. and i promise i'll try to be more mindful. you deserve that."
with those words, all the tension leaves the air. the conversation flowed more easily from there, the both of you gradually finding common ground and understanding. by the time you finished eating, a sense of comfort hung in the air.
as tsukishima gathered up the empty containers, you reached out to touch his arm lightly. "thank you, kei,” you said sincerely, meeting his eyes once more. "for trying."
he smiled faintly, a hint of relief in his expression. "thank you for not giving up on me," he replied, his voice soft.
and with that, the evening unfolded into a quiet understanding between the two of you, strengthening the bond that had drawn you together in the first place.
a/n: this one’s a little messy😓

☆ WALK BACK HOME
hq -- tsukishima x gn!reader
summary: tsukishima kei likes being alone, but he makes an exception for you.
warnings: nothing, just fluff
word count: 554
the sun sets when you walk out of your last class of the day, finally making it to the weekend. all the students are bustling to make it out of the classroom while you took your time packing stuff away. right as you turn to exit the classroom, you’re greeted by a tall figure with his headphones hanging around his neck--that figure being no other than your best friend, tsukishima.
“oi, could you be any slower?” he grumbles, flicking your forehead as you look up at him.
“well you could’ve left, but you chose to stay, didn't you?” you cock your brow teasingly at him, giggling as a light blush covers his cheeks while he mumbles a small whatever and starts walking off.
you sped up a bit, trying to catch up with the tall boy. “where’s tadashi?” you asked.
“he left earlier, said he needed to go to the store.” tsukishima responds, looking straight ahead as he opens the door for the both of you.
this had become a usual routine, tsukishima would meet you after last period everyday, waiting for you no matter how long you took. he would always try to walk you home. sometimes yamaguchi would accompany your walks home as well, but on some days it was just the two of you. if he had practice, he would let you know so you wouldn't end up waiting for him.
there was a comfortable silence while you two walked down the sidewalk, sun still setting along the horizon. you come to a stop, spotting a pretty flower near where the sidewalk and road meet. tsukishima slightly grabs the handle of your backpack as you bend down and pick the flower, showing it to him.
the corners of his lips quirk up into a slight smirk, taking the small flower out of your hands and putting it in his pocket of his school uniform. this makes warmth spread on your cheeks, getting back up quickly to get back home.
while the both of you continue walking to your neighborhood, tsukishima speaks up.
“do you want to come over tomorrow?” he asks, there's no emotion behind it, but as you turn around you see that he’s flustered. cheeks dusted in a light pink like earlier, hand scratching his neck awkwardly.
“huh? the tsukishima kei asking me to come over? why so?” you tease, finding it funny and cute as his blush grows deeper, he looks to the side.
tsukishima tries to come up with something witty, but he can't. “yes, i am. akiteru and my mom are visiting family, so you could come over,” tsukishima hates how awkward he sounds. he hates that only you make him so awkward. he also hates how the sunset just shines perfectly in your direction, making you look breathtaking.
you take a small step closer to him, “i thought you liked being alone?”
“i do, but i guess i could make an exception for you.”
now you’re both blushing, but tsukishima feels himself go red when you accept his invite. as the sun dipped lower, casting a warm glow over the neighborhood, you walked side by side with tsukishima towards home. tomorrow held promises of a different kind of sunset, one shared in the comfort of his company, and perhaps a few shy smiles exchanged too.
