     The fact no one really cares when he slips out of the house without much mention of where he's going doesn't bother him, it's nothing new or different.  It happens mutually for everyone after the answers are generally the same the first twenty times.

     Pulling his hoodie on and squirming his arms into the proper place, then flicking his phone out to shoot a text to Izaya to inform them of their meeting place, Masaomi began the arduous trek for the only place he could think of that was nearby for the both of them and wouldn't be so cheap that Izaya would roll his eyes over the thought of the blonde calling it upscale.           After all, it was supposed to be a night to explore the ' finer things ' in life.  Even if it is with this guy of all people, he could manage.

          " Worst case scenario, "  he mumbles to himself as he pads through the bustling street, " I owe him for dinner or something ... "  And who didn't love all you can eat buffets?  Momo Paradise served pretty good food ...

     Glancing to his phone for a brief moment, he sent another quick text.

          If you're up to it, we can stop by the Gran Cyber Cafe while we're there, since they're on the same floor.  And since no one really cares if I'm out tonight, we can go see something at the Humax theater since it's nearby, too.

Snapping his phone shut, he deposited it into his pocket again without waiting for the answer.  He'd find out when Izaya got there what the plans would be, anyway.

Yeah.  I don't know, I guess I'll think about it at another time when I don't feel like a complete moron about everything ...  That might help a lot.  And -- considering the offer -- I guess I need to think about it later anyway, in the end.

... more or less my train of thought.  It still isn't something I'm jumping at since I'm reluctant to do anything you want in the first place, but ...  I guess it really depends entirely on the details that I don't have.  We'll figure it out later.  Again, when I don't feel so spacey.  Today's been such a slow day that actual thought is like, " do you think I'm a rocket scientist here?  I couldn't even tell you 2 + 2 right now. "

For once, I think I'd be surprised if you did.  And not even in some selfish ' I'd be great in this position, why wouldn't he want that? ' but just because it isn't something that ... I dunno, suits you.           Ugh, it's weird to be able to say that.

or perhaps you’re just making it more complicated than it needs to be. as a high school student, and as your parents have said, you aren’t required to have one. either you want to get a job now and have extra money or you don’t. it’s fairly simple.

aah —? what’s this? you’re actually going to consider my offer? even after all that’s happened between us? although, you do make a good point. i do utilize you whenever i need it. why not get paid for what you already do?  if you’re genuinely considering it, who am i to tell you that you can’t think about it. by all means, take your time with the decision. it’s not as if i’m going to change my mind. very well. where would you like to meet?

Without going too far into details, I don't really expect anyone to be interested in me whatsoever for a lot of reasons.  One being that I'm kinda just everywhere and a lot of people aren't comfortable with that.  Two, I'm pretty flaky and I think I might have some vague commitment issues just because I change my mind like, every twenty minutes (almost literally), and ...  that doesn't bode well in something that people expect to be long term.

Anyway, the thing is ...  there's always going to be someone who doesn't care, or who's willing to work with you through your flaws.  And some day, even if it isn't within the immediate time, that person will show up.  And when they do ---- ... don't be an idiot like me and take them by the hand and welcome them into your life without a fight.

Someone who is willing to not overlook, but accept everything about you ...  they're rare and they're far between, but they always exist, somewhere.

And if you're a sucker for fate like I am, you'll find them whether you try to or not.           In the meantime, it wouldn't hurt exactly to try and cut back a little on all that.

Besides, it’s easier for you than it is for me. No one really wants someone who can literally throw their sorry ass from one side of Ikebukuro to the other. That’s not how people work — once you scare someone like that — or a mass of people, they never forget it.

He's my best buddy.  Has been for years, haha. I don't know if I'd call it exciting, but it's definitely different, and it's kinda nice insofar as a change of pace.  But I don't plan on traveling much, so it doesn't do me many favors, you know?      It'd be kinda nice, though.  The help, I mean.  I guess if you just go about explaining some of this stuff you're on about, since you use a lot of words I don't really know ...  it helps enough in expanding my vocabulary, even if it's not something I'll be using myself.

For someone not so social, you don't mind typing up a nice text wall for me ~ ♪  Haha. Researching ... Articuno -- ... uh.  Y .. eah, I ... I know about Pokémon.  But -- ...  never mind.

… I apologize, I’m not really the social type. Besides typing up the thesis, I am researching Articunos. Are you familiar with Pokemon? 

Yes, I am a scientist— Or rather, a researcher. I’m an assistant professor in the Biology department of the university I am attending. I am often put in charge of minor projects and experiments, which include small organisms and testing them in different environments and room temperatures. One of the organisms deformed and bubbled considerably— it was a mess to clean when it popped. Ugh.

I am also a Pokemon trainer and researcher— I mostly do the research for the sake of my father.

Yeah ...  Basically that, I guess.  I don't know, thinking about it just makes everything way more complicated than it needs to be ...  I might just look for something part time and easy, and maybe drag Mikado with me so it's not like I'm ditching him again to be a responsible adult.  Ugh.

While the first thought to come to mind is ' there isn't a snowball's chance in Hell, ' because I don't like anything you do anyway -- ...  I realize you still utilize me for whatever purpose you feel I could fulfill at the time, and so in the end, it's like I'm working for you anyway because I'll be damned if you don't shove me so far in the corner I really can't go against what you want. So -- ...  can I think about that ... ?  All that said, I still want to say no, and I know I'll probably come to realize a lot of things later, and ...  yeah, I just ... wanna think about this for right now.

Sure, why not.  Not much of interest in the cupboards to make for dinner, and maybe we can talk about the ... job ... thing.  See how it goes ...
