My understanding of Y2K fashion culture now versus before

(Tbh these aren’t really more Y2K)

I say this as a Y2K baby- that most listings and aesthetic that describes themselves as Y2K aren’t that; it’s a hyper specific sect of early 2000s aesthetics that focuses on tech innovation and an optimistic look towards the 21st century, alongside the burgeoning obsession of Japanese products and aesthetics in the west (it’s why so many Y2K archive blogs heavily feature Japanese media)

For those not in the know, I’ve recently really gotten into riso printing, as well as anti-CCTV makeup and I’ve managed to configure a sort of visual language that mixes my style with a visual rhythm that can be reduced to two colours (again, my Instagram of the same name has better examples of this)

I think this is the first drag-related piece I’ve done on here and I’m pretty happy with it :)
