I regret to inform you that Discord's new Terms of Service includes an arbitration clause. You can find it here https://discord.com/terms/#16. This clause includes an opt-out, which I have transcribed here:

You can decline this agreement to arbitrate by emailing an opt-out notice to arbitration-opt-out@discord.com within 30 days of April 15, 2024 or when you first register your Discord account, whichever is later; otherwise, you shall be bound to arbitrate disputes in accordance with the terms of these paragraphs. If you opt out of these arbitration provisions, Discord also will not be bound by them.

These clauses are underhanded ways that corporations seek to deprive you of your right to participate in class-action lawsuits and your right to a jury trial. (This does only apply to us users ,other people still spread the word though )

So, apparently my discord was 'mistakenly reported'

Okay, so, context, I received a message from someone online from a group I was in that apparently mistakenly reported my discord account and has 'apparently' already stated to someone at support at discord that it was a mistake. In short, I followed to questions and basic protocols that was asked of me and apparently, I was still asked to pay $200 to verify my account despite showing proof that I was telling the truth and that apparently the other person who made the mistake also 'apparently' stated that it was a mistake. Obviously this felt like a scam so I went to discord report online and sent in a claim with all the screenshots I took.

So I don't know if this is a scam or not but I'm pissed off as hell. I haven't heard anything back from the official report from discord, but I hope I hear something soon, because this is too dumb.

I love how the search function on this site is absolute garbage. I can look up a post word for word and I will NEVER find it
