Beginner Basics Build Challenge
Hi, not really what I post on here but I thought of this challenge and I have nowhere else to put it! It's under the cut so yeah
Beginner Basics Build Challenge: This build challenge focuses mostly on decorating. The main idea is that the beginning furnishings are fairly plain and basic aside from a couple standout items and you furnish/decorate the house to add style and personality.
You cannot change the floor plan, edit walls or fences, add/move/delete windows or doors, or change the structure of the house
Basements and foundations cannot be added
No new room additions
Platforms can be added
Half wall trims can change swatch but not style
Flooring cannot be changed with the exception of adding carpet to mimic a rug (carpet cannot be applied to whole room in this case)
Stairs cannot be changed (style nor swatch)
You are limited to repainting the walls based
Wainscoting, paneling, molding, and baseboards must remain consistent between styles i.e you can go from “desert skies” to “essence of pastels” since they have the same baseboard but not “desert skies” to “I’ve been framed” since one has molding on the top and the other doesn't
You can switch from paint to wallpaper so long as the styles (baseboards/molding/wainscoting/paneling/none) match up
You can switch swatches with in any wall style
You cannot delete initial furniture on the lot!
Single beds can be deleted
You cannot change the swatches on initial furniture!
Bed swatches can be changed (to mimic a change in bed spread, since the swatches are inconsistent it is okay if the bed frame colors change)
You can move initial furniture to different rooms and outside
Do not make a shed/basement/attic/whatever to hide the initial furniture. That defeats the purpose of this challenge
Exterior wall, window, and roofing can not be changed
Exterior plants can be moved but not deleted
When making a starting build, use plain, basic plants. Try to limit use of color, or stick to white for flowers
Exterior plants can be added
Terrain manipulations (paint, ponds, elevation, sinking, etc) cannot be erased
Terrain manipulations can be added
Pools and fountains cannot be moved or deleted.
Water color can be changed
Lights, fountain streams, bubbles, ladders cannot be deleted or moved, but can be added
pool/fountain trim can change swatches but cannot change style
I highly recommend using some sort of style randomizer to influence how you style the house! This is my first time making a challenge so let me know if you have any notes! You can make a shell for the challenge and then build on it later. Example shells can be found on the gallery using #BeginnerBasicsChallenge . Best of luck!

#mandatory eye check that i failed#i just thought that most people needed to squint to see the board#and that they also couldn't read light colors (red pink light blue etc) against the white board)

So apparently another whole ass animated scooby doo movie was canceled, this time featuring Krypto the Superdog, but it leaked onto 4chan and was uploaded onto the internet archive

tbh i think the funniest phenomena that's been happening in the last couple years is "youtuber, having gone too deep into the research hole, has been made an investigative journalist against their will"

A couple job interview hacks from someone who has to give a job interview every single goddamn day: (disclaimer: this goes for my process and my company’s process, other companies and industries might be different)
1. There are a few things I check and a few questions I ask literally just to figure out if you can play the game and get along with others in a professional setting. Part of the job I interview for is talking to people, and we work in teams. So if you can’t “play the game” a tiny bit, it’s not going to work. Playing the game includes:
- Why do you want to work here? (just prove that you googled the company, tell me like 1 thing about us, I just want to know that you did SOME kind of preparation for this interview)
- Are you wearing professional clothing? I don’t need a suit just don’t show up in a ratty t-shirt and sweatpants.
- Are you able to speak respectfully and without dropping f-bombs all the time? Not because I’m offended but because I don’t want to be reported to HR if you wind up on my team.
- Can you follow simple directions in an interview?
2. Stop telling me protected information. I don’t want to know about what drugs or medications you’re on, I don’t want to know about you being sick, I don’t want to know if you’re planning to have children soon, I don’t want to know anything about your personal life other than “can you do the job?”
3. When we ask, “What questions do you have for me?” here are my favorites I’ve heard: - What does the day-to-day look like for a member of your team?
- If one of your team members was not performing up to his usual standard, what steps would you take to correct that?
- What can I start doing now to accelerate my learning process in this job?
- What are some reservations you have about me as a candidate? (be ready for this emotionally….it will REALLY help you in the future, and I’ve had people save themselves from a No after this, but can be hard to hear)
- In your opinion, what skills and qualities does the ideal candidate for this job possess?
- What advice would you give to a new hire in this position/someone who wanted to break into this industry, as someone who has worked here for a while?
Those are just my tips off-the-cuff. I work in sales in marketing/SAAS, so these can be very different depending on the industry, but I wish the people I interview could read this before they show up.

#hear me out: gray ghost#at my bat mitzvah I had card board cut outs of different characters (including batfleck) so i feel like he'd have a few of those

Girls & Former Girls (myself included):
I was a horse girl until 6th grade (age 12) & then I became an anime girl (until age 14 when I turned into a goth…which, still am!!!)
as always with these: RB for more responses!
🐶🙏💜✨ —Cerberus
#I was a weird girl but honestly i was a “quiet and nice” girl#i just got silly and weird once you got to know me#if there was a new girl to the school/class I would show her around and be her friend until she got settled in#if i asked to sit with another friend group at lunch they'd say yes because a) i asked#and b) my mom would bake me cookies each week and would send me enough to share#i would be sat next to the loud/rowdy boys or the kids that had an aid because I was polite and quiet and nice#the only thing is there was this one kid I was in the same class with for a few years and would be at his table often#he would hum/sing to concentrate and it would distract me (it wasn't bad turns out he had perfect pitch but it made it hard to focus)#one time I asked him to stop and my teacher shushed me and told me he needs to hum#I tried to ask her to move but was told if I brought it up again I would get a behavior strike#fully got put into a lower level math class in 6th grade because I was nice to this boy and patient with him (the bare fucking minimum)#part of me wished I wasn't so nice back then#maybe I would have paid more attention
