The line - up for Sanremo 2019
Busy day for Eurovision as the line - up for the 69th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival has been announced! And since I’m Italian I think I’ll have A LOT to say about this line - up. Will it be good or bad? The answer will be below.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Many familiar and not familiar faces will compete this year in Sanremo starting off with Paola Turci which comes back after last year’s fifth position in the contest with the song “Fatti Bella per te” (look beautiful for yourself). I personally like Paola Turci despite she is one of the most underrated artists in Italy. The song that she will present this year is called “L’ultimo ostacolo” (the last obstacle). Simone Cristicchi comes back after winning Sanremo seven years ago in the newcomers' category with the song “Ti regalerò una rosa” (I will gift you a rose) a song that I love and make me think a lot everytime I listen to it, this year however, Cristicchi comes back to Sanremo with the song “Abbi cura di me” (Take care of me) . While I talked about two comebacks, it will be the first time in Sanremo for Zen Circus , a group that I honestly don’t know anything about it, hence I’m really curious to see what they will bring to the table for this edition. The song they will sing will be “L’amore è una dittatura” (Love is a Dictatorship). The most awaited comebacks for me are definitely the ones made by Il Volo which represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 in Vienna with “Grande Amore” (Big Love)  and Nek runner-up in Sanremo in the same year with the song “Fatti avanti amore” (Come forward, love). Partially because of a bit of a competition that arises between the two in 2015 and partially because Nek has been one of my childhood artists and in my honest opinion always made quality music. Other names that I’m happy to see are Negrita, Daniele Silvestri,Ultimo,Arisa, Mahmmod nd Francesco Renga, while the ones that I’m not so happy to see (despite I recognized them as monsters of the Italian music) are: Loredana Bertè, Patty Pravo (in a duet with rapper Briga) and Nino D’angelo. In conclusion, this year’s line up , is an okay line - up . There are many big and prestigious names , industry newcomers (such as Ultimo,Irama and Einar) and a few underground names, which makes it a really balanced line-up, but a quality line - up? Too early to say.
Who will be the rightful successor of Ermal Meta and Fabrizio Moro in representing Italy at Eurovision in May? We shall see it once all of the songs will be realised to the public and later in February at Sanremo’s Music Festival!

Festivali I Këngës has a winner!
Tumblr media
After three night Festivali I Këngës 8Albanian song Festival) came to a close, crowing  Jonida Maliqi as the winner of the festival and as the successor of Eugent Bushpepa in representing Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest next May with the song “ Ktheju tokës” (Return to the land). The song itself is a mixture of ethnic and electrical sounds with powerful vocals executed by Jonida.
Objective opinion about the song: will it do well in Eurovision? Do I see it in a final?
Objectively speaking, Just based on the song, I don’t know why but I think it won’t reach the final. While the jury might like it I don’t see the televoters voting for it. The running order in the semi-final is a determinant factor wheater this song could do well or not. In the past, we already saw a few entries with a similar concept in 2013 with Bulgaria (”Sam Shampioni” by Elitsa and Stoyan)  or Slovakia in 2010 (”Horeronie” by Kristina) and they stayed in the semi-final   also the older audience might be really put off by the multiple overlapping voices of the backing vocals.
Fangirl Opinion: Do I like the song? Do I want to see it in the final? Will it go to the final?
Personally, I  love the song and the mixture between ethnic and electronic sounds, however, I do have to stick with my objective opinion and say that this might not get to the final, even though I really would like it to! As I said in the introduction, she has a very powerful voice and an impressive vocal technique especially in the live performance, but will it be enough to engage with the audience? I might change idea once all of the songs will be out but for the time being, I really would like to see it in the final :)
I wish her all the best in Tel Aviv in May.

Hello and welcome :3
Hi and welcome to another Eurovision blog :3 My name is Giorgia, I’m Italian and I am a Eurovision fan since 2011. My favorite countries in Eurovision? Well, Italy of course, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Cyprus ( yes all the Mediterranean countries despite I have a lot of  respect for the northern European countries for their quality entries :) In this blog, I will try to give my honest opinion about every entry and comment the semifinals and the grand final. This blog will have two types of comments in one post: a very objective vision of a song and stage and a (less serious) fangirl version. I’m currently following the Spanish selection and I will follow the French selection and I will definitely follow the Italian one in February once it will kick off while I will comment.on the selected song for the rest of the countries. Enough with the presentations, I hope you will like the blog and enjoy my posts :)
