My Remedy

Request: Would you be able to write me a longish Robert Plant imagine where he helps you with your depression and anxiety? It would mean so much <3

Genre: Fluff/Comfort

Word Count: 838

Robert was the most supportive boyfriend you could ever hope for. He knew what he was getting into when he starting dating you but he didn’t mind one bit. He didn’t mind having to stay home with you when a party proved to be too much. He didn’t mind calming you down after one of your regular panic attacks. Most of all he definitely didn’t mind holding you tight and showering you with love to make you understand that you are wanted and appreciated.

There was one instance in particular that you will never forget. You had went out alone to shop for new dresses to wear to some release parties in support of Robert’s new album. The trip went alright at first as you browsed through the different clothes, your fingers caressing the racks of colourful materials. It wasn’t until you made your way to the change room that your mood took a turn.

You came out of the change room to survey yourself in a medium length, flowy dress in one of the larger mirrors. Suddenly you became hyper aware of the people around you and although they probably weren’t, you immediately thought they were judging you. Without purchasing the dress or trying on any more, you walked out of the store and headed straight for home.

Part of you hoped Robert was home as you had been making significant improvements with your anxiety lately and you didn’t want to let him down. While the other half of you just wanted to be in his arms and hear him whispering about how much you mean to him; he was your remedy.

“Y/N? Is that you?”

The moment you poked your head through the door he had already started towards you. His expression quickly shifted from one of happiness to concern once he noticed the lack of shopping bags in your hands and tears running down your face.

“Hey, hey, hey what’s wrong? What happened?” He quickly said as he rushed towards your tired body, pulling you into a hug and pushing the door shut behind you.

You melted into his body, unable to form any coherent words to explain your tears. Instead they just continued to fall as he guided you to the living room and laid you down on the couch. Sitting beside you now, Robert stroked the top of your head until you were able to speak again.

“There were so many people there...I couldn’t handle the way they were looking at me. I’m sorry I’m like this, I’m such a burden to you.” You felt genuinely bad for making him put up with this.

“Like I’ve told you many times before Y/N, there is nothing I would rather do than help you get better. You are the most important person in my life right now and making sure you’re alright is a pleasure not a chore.”

You looked up at him with dried tears on your cheeks as you chewed on the inside of your lip thinking about what he had just said.

“Besides, you haven’t broken down like this in weeks. Just because you slip up once doesn’t mean I’m not extremely proud of what you’ve accomplished so far! You’re going to have these moments but I’ll always be by your side, no matter what.”

You were finally able to crack a smile again as another contradictory tear ran down your face.

“Hey, why are you crying again? Did I say something wrong?” Robert said hurriedly with concern sparking once again in his expression.

You shook your head quickly in protest.

“They’re happy tears, thank you so much Robert.” You said as you closed your eyes, squeezing out another tear. “I love you more than anything.”

Robert continued to stroke your head before allowing his hand to rest on your cheek and leaning in for a gentle, loving kiss.

“I love you too babe. You’re so strong,” He smiled and you reciprocated it while playing absentmindedly with his golden curls.

“Now how about we order some food, anything you want.” Robert offered enthusiastically with a smile.

After ordering and eating your takeout, Robert made you a cup of tea and settled onto the couch with you. The two of your spent the rest of the night watching TV with your body attached to his in a warm, cuddly embrace. While cuddling Robert realized you still needed a dress so you made plans to go back to the store tomorrow with him by your side for support. And that’s exactly what he did.

The next day you exited the change room of a different store and had no time to focus on any other girls as Robert occupied your attention. He immediately sprang out of his seat to circle your body and express how good you looked the article of clothing, stealing a few kisses of encouragement here and there. By the end of the shopping excursion you had two things, three beautiful dresses and a remedy for your anxiety.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes...

So as I’ve been reading a lot of different imagines lately I’ve realized how shitty my organization and formatting is. From my next post on, all of my imagines and one shots will include, a title, a gif or photo, the request, the genre, and the word count. Hopefully this will be more aesthetically pleasing and will be beneficial for when I start organizing my blog better (navigation page, masterlists, etc.)
