jyushimatsu - he would be more likely to eat you before realizing whats happened tbh. not like "haha jyushi eats bugs" but...yknow... jyushi 100% eats bugs sometimes. but only if they look tasty.

How would the matsu brothers interact with partners with big height difference (both taller and shorter. Gimme the cute interactions pls)

osomatsu would tease a shorter partner by putting his arm on their head and giving them a height-related nickname (shortcake, for example). for a taller partner he'd probably be a little bit jealous about the height difference especially if his partner presents themself more femmininely. would still crack jokes but mostly to feel better about himself. will stop if it does genuinely bother his partner, esp if they tease him about his height in return to prove a point (though he might not mind being called "little bunny" or "lil cutie" tbh...)

karamatsu would prefer a shorter partner because of his "natural protector/alpha instincts." gags he'd call them sweet things like his little dove or his doll and, if he's able to lift them, then you can bet your bum that it'll be impossible for him to put them down. for a taller partner he'd maybe be a little bummed at first... and he'd likely use the same names he'd use for a shorter partner. but eventually he'd realize that Hey, a Tall Partner is cool! because now he's the one getting the surprise forehead kisses...and getting hugged from behind...and it just feels nice.

ichimatsu doesn't care either way because, yknow...its ichimatsu. he'd interact with them relatively the same - making sure that they're a Safe Person and then maybe letting them into his world of cats. he'd get flustered when they call him a kitty (though he'd turn into a puddle if a taller partner added "little" to the beginning). he'd like a shorter partner for being able to wrap around them once comfortable enough, though the same goes for someone taller - being able to be wrapped in someones arms and feeling Safe is something that i think he'd like a lot.

jyushimatsu would probably throw a shorter partner around a lot without realizing it, especially if they didn't have the strength/balance to keep up with him. a taller partner would have a better time dealing with that...though they'd still need to pay attention to not lose their footing. jyushi would pick either up if possible and just act like it's a completely normal thing. is the most open to sharing drinks/ice cream/etc without it turning into anything Weird. enjoys being called a (little) ball of sunshine

todomatsu would prefer a shorter partner due to societal reasons (if they're fem-presenting; if masc-presenting, then tall for the same reason). he'd be alright with either as long as he 1) got along with them and 2) didn't get bored of them. he's definitely the one that does the "cutest" stuff for his partners (themed picnics, coffee dates, cat cafes...) but he's also the one that mostly does it for the pictures of cute things. win some/lose some i guess

Osomatsu was stretched across the floor, flipping through a magazine when he heard an "Ow, fuck!" followed by a loud clatter. He scrambles to his feet and rushes to where the noise came from, nearly faceplanting into a wall as he slid across the floor.

"Are you okay?! Do you need help?! An ambulance?!" If his face didn't show his panic, then his voice definitely did. His eyes were wide as he took in his roommate/crush holding their hand in a small towel and a knife on the ground.

"No, no, I'm okay - I spaced out a little bit, it's fine, I'm good. Just need a, uh, bandage. Or some gauze. I don't need stitches though, I swear." They send Osomatsu as reassuring a look as they can despite the pain they were in.

You look up from your spot on the couch, temporarily placing down your reading/listening material in order to unravel yourself from the large blanket you were in. Karamatsu appears through the doorway, grumbling quietly to himself. His eyebrows are down-turned and there is a scowl on his face.

"What did you say, Kara?" you ask out of concern for the male. His eyes soften when he catches your worried gaze, and he forces a smile onto his face.

"It's nothing, my darling. There's no need for that look."

You pout slightly before wrapping yourself up once more. "Well..." Your teeth chew on your lower lip for a short moment before you continue with, "I'm here if you need me, okay?"

"Thank you, my love."

"Hey! What are you - oh. Oh! Oh shit, do you need help?!"

Ichimatsu's head snaps up, blurry eyes hardly focusing on the figure cautiously approaching him. He stares for a while before his eyes start to wander.

He felt nothing until a hand lightly brushed his hair from his forehead - and then the pain seemed to send him to another world entirely. A groan reaches his ears as the stranger curses and does their best to soothe him.

"Dude, listen, it's okay - it's uh, it's. It's pretty bad, I'll get you to the hospital -"

"No..." Was that his voice? How weak. Pathetic. Absolute trash.

"I... come on, man, I don't wanna see you die here."

Ichimatsu grunts weakly in response to the stranger, ignoring the way that their voice sounded pained as well.

"FUCK!!!"

The exclamation from across the field startles you. Your head snaps up as you drop your pencil into your lap, somehow having heard the shout from over your music. A bright yellow-clad male starts swinging his baseball bat wildly as he yells with frustration.

Wasn't this the same guy who, just yesterday, ran up to you with a bundle of weeds to thank you for helping him the previous week? If you remembered correctly, he would usually run laps around the park and be all smiles. What...happened?

As you're debating whether or not to ask this, someone is suddenly sitting cross-legged in front of you with a large, tense grin. It was Mr. Yellow, of course, and you feel bad for the nervousness that wound itself around your heart.

"I-I'm sorry, what did you say?" you ask, after realizing that the man had asked you for something. "And are you okay?"

"I'm apparently not allowed to bring my baseball bat here!" he near-yells, though it seems like that's just his normal volume. "Angry! Annoyed! It's nice to come here, but just running is boring!"

"Oh, well, uh..." You rub the back of your neck awkwardly as you glance around. "I'm sorry for your loss, but, uh... there's usually no one around in the middle of the night. It's peaceful." You send the man a nervous grin as the tenseness in his expression seems to leave. It's replaced with, possibly, an idea.

"Okay!!! Meet me here at midnight then!" he yells even louder before getting up to run away.

osomatsu would probably stay up with them accidentally (as well as fall asleep without realizing it). he'll try to help how he can but he doesn't really understand insomnia . (despite the fact that he suffers from acute insomnia during the colder months)

karamatsu would try (and likely fail) to help. fluffy pillows, a nice warm blanket, singing a lullaby... he tries his best to stay up to keep his partner company but falls asleep within a 30-min time frame of his usual bed time

ichimatsu is also an insomniac... but he doesn't want to spend all of his waking moments with someone. if it helps his partner then he wouldn't mind having them on the phone until they maybe fall asleep (if he has a phone, ofc), but otherwise he'll just kind of. make sure they know he's around.

jyushimatsu does with his partner what his does with ichimatsu - that is, he falls asleep while talking to them about methods that he uses to fall asleep. the methods are apparently very affective if they put him to sleep as he's talking about them

todomatsu doesn't really want to touch that with a 10ft pole... but since it is his partner, he does some research here and there about what can help. he doesn't openly admit that the park outings he invites his partner on is an attempt to help, but he won't deny it if asked

jyushimatsu's forms of affection are 1) using you like a training weight (lifting/push ups/etc) and 2) octopus holding you until you tap out. is that really what you would want? if yes then he's all for whatever affection you throw his way. he'll absorb it and use it as energy

todomatsu likes someone super affectionate on the surface... but really, he doesn't want to be around someone 24/7 like a dear older brother of his. he'll indulge in a partner's affection but he does get drained easily from clingy people due to dealing with... you know. clingy siblings. (nevermind the fact that he, too, is clingy. todo doesnt make much sense)

A small knock at the door interrupts you from your cleaning. You wipe your hands on your pants before moving toward the door. A glance through the peephole shows no one there, so you crack open the door with the chain still attached.

You glance around to see if you could catch anyone wandering away from view, but all you manage to find is a small brown box with a white envelope attached. If it weren't for it having your name on it, you probably would have just left it there. After closing the door, undoing the chain, and reopening it, you bring the package inside. Holding the envelope up to the light reveals an oddly-shaped piece of paper - somewhat like a teardrop, but not exactly? Odd.

You leave the gift on the coffee table, too nervous to actually do anything about it, and return to cleaning. It was a great way to procrastinate things that you needed to do.

You sit down later with a small snack. Cleaning had only taken a few hours, and it was quite late enough to justify making dinner...sadly. It was a great way to procrastinate, and yet it never seems to last long enough. This box, though, could likely sit there forever.

It made you nervous, though, staring at you like that. Taunting you with the endless possibilities it could hold. Maybe you should just start with the envelope, you convince yourself. The envelope would be less likely to hurt you, unless it had glitter inside of it.

With that thought, you sit down your snack and snatch up the envelope. You open it carefully, and pull out... a folded heart? Eh? The color of it takes you off-guard the most. The color is a bright...

Ok so this is going to be another analyze about Osomatsu (because yes and because I have it in mind and I need to write it down before I forget)

I'll talk about Osomatsu's relationship with crying and sad moments in general, long post after cut

(Oh and- at some point I got lost so none of this probably makes sense- read at your own risk)

I think by this point everyone knows that Osomatsu is a somewhat a complicated person- and if you can please try to remember a time when you saw him crying... hard right? I know-

Off the top of my head I remember three times he cried (maybe I'll remember more later), two of those times were with a comedy proposal so they won't count here, and the last one was a time when he was really sad (was panicked better saying-)

So I have a vision of Osomatsu that I'd like to share (even though I'm not sure if it's 100% right) ok so- He never cries, it's hard to find a moment where he cries for whatever reason, and like- not like Jyushi, Jyushimatsu also has few crying moments, but that's because he is almost never shown being sad, but when these sad moments occur he allow himself to be sad and cry, and I know that there are people who are simply less cry than others and I strongly believe that Osomatsu and Jyushimatsu are two of those cases, but still, they remain human and still cry, but Osomatsu seems to refuse to do that sometimes-

I'll take as an example a situation where he appeared (or in this case really) to be sad which is ep 24 S1. We know that whole situation shook Oso, and as a gift they didn't show his face almost once, he has his back turned the whole time making it difficult to see his full face, only from the nose down was visible and since eyes are a very expressive part of our body we ended up missing a lot of his real emotions, but I'm sure he didn't cried there (he doesn't cry normally, in front of others so it's a complete no for him) but what about when he was off screen? I'm sure he shed a few tears at those times, or worse- had a panic attack (as he's shown himself to be prone to having them), the point is- he looks like he doesn't want to cry, he seems to have a little trouble expressing that kind of emotion and crying must be something he represses.

Osomatsu is the type of person who will laugh at a bad situation and make fun of his problems, but deep down he is agonizing over them. He doesn't want to cry. But why? Perhaps to be an example of a strong older brother? Or because it doesn't suit his character? Oso has already shown that he has problems with his identity, and if he tries so hard to remain in the comfort zone and with the personality he always had, crying is not something that suits the little troublemaker, the older brother, the leader. Not being ok is a horrible situation for him, he doesn't want to feel bad and doesn't know how to react to this type of situation, so he just "stops working" and stands there with its blank face, he won't cry even if sometimes he wants to.

Crying is good and it's a way to let out everything you've been holding back, and Osomatsu has been holding back a lot over these three seasons (+ the movie), after he had a panic attack at the beginning of S3 I think it's an indication that something is not right (I assume crying in a panic attack is normal, so yeah-) I don't think there's a confirmed reason why this happened to him but we can speculate on some things (which I won't do in this post), but anyway he needs help ASAP

His brothers only had to make the mistake of hitting on you once before he made it extraordinarily clear he would not be letting that shit fly. It was scary enough when he didn't escalate to violence. That person on the train who gave you their number, though? He left them bleeding in an alley a few days after. You're blissfully unaware of the people he's hurt, and that's how he prefers it to be. You shouldn't have to worry about unpleasant things. You deserve the best.

He's going to make sure you get what you deserve.
