tumblr staff eats pooper
Right, considering the current state of corporate politics on this site, and that it seems that only those affected seem to be actively speaking on the matter, this needs to be dragged out to a wider audience.

REBLOG IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS A TRANSFEM SAFE SPACE.
We need to show these higher ups how much we truly value them.
Edit: Changed the wording of the post and decided to put in a reminder that this extends to refusing to believe in bogus call-out posts for frankly minuscule thinks such as being horny or kinky, especially if the target is presenting in an ‘unconventional’ manner, (therians, etc.) this double standard where it is seen as ‘degenerate’ for transfemmes to merely exist in certain spaces, yet everyone else is fine to do so is disgusting and part of the reason for the backlash.
PUTTING TERFS DNI IS NOT THE BE ALL AND END ALL, YOU GENUINELY HAVE TO PUT YOUR MORALS OF BEING RESPECTFUL INTO PRACTICE.

Welp
Reblog if you’re a transfem who is shy and you fear abandonment, even when you know that your friends are amazing and would never leave you.
Or if you like pizza.

So, my music is separated into two major aliases: avaskara and Citta. avaskara is my less serious/more experimental alias where I put all manner of low effort jams and concepts, and is where most of my music goes. "Avaskara" is the sanskrit word for toilet, or more accurately, water closet, or poopoo place, stuff like that. Putting a work under avaskara is like figuratively flushing a work down the toilet. Citta, however, is my main alias. It means mind. It is where my serious ambient stuff goes to, and thus, tracks made for Citta are held in the highest standard I could possibly hold myself to.
I've always been teasing that there would be a debut Citta album that would be sort of my magnum opus, but I try and try and try to make tracks for it, but they're never quite good enough. Never worthy to be put under this alias. A lot of times these works end up being "flushed down the toilet," but not this time. These are attempts that are too good for avaskara, but not good enough for the o' fabled Citta Album™. I've decided to make a compromise and make an EP since it's been a hot minute since I've posted anything under Citta. Think of this EP as a warm up for what's to come. Well, *if* it comes.
I will not be going in depth to the creation of these tracks as they were all made kind of throughout the past 3 months and I don't really remember how exactly the process went for these outside of the usual: I made some cool patch on the DeepMind, I make some cool bass-line or generative drone with the Neutron, and I put some digital hoojoo behind everything with the DX11. I think I'm at a point where I don't need to talk too much about the creation of these tracks anymore as I become more familiar with my instruments. My music is becoming less about the instruments and more about the raw expression created.

Nothing made today, but I realize I never plugged my soundcloud here. There's some crappy early hardware works strewn about this page, and recently, this comp of all the ambient loops I've made so far. These may or may not be contributed to Yume 2kki's repository.
Yume Nikki is a huge inspiration for my music due to its unique minimalist musical philosophy through its soundtrack of almost all sub-10 second loops. I've always been fascinated with minimalist musical philosophy and how it demonstrates the effectiveness of repetition and slow pacing in music. A hypnotic effect is created, sense of time progressively being lost. Expressions pumped out in their rawest form, free of the constraints of musical convention. I like to make simple loops like this from time to time for fun, but also to build a library of various textures and melodies to put together in a future arrangement. This is why much of the tracks are in the same few keys.
If any of y'all want, I have the actual single loop files I can post up somewhere, just shoot me a message (please engage with me i don't want to post to the void forever)

New single. Just the keyboards again this time. I like the interactions with the delay effect, especially with some rack amp effect for warm tone. Lot of envelope amount tweaking rather than filter tweaking. DX11 is just the Sy. Perc 2 patch turned into a pad again, but I put a Leslie on it and did a lot of vibrato and pitch shifting. Kinda wish I had thought out a consistent melody/progression for the DX11's part, but eh.
There is no greater artistic message in this audio, take off your clothes

N-N-N-NEW TOILET EP
Read description. This thing was a blast to make, especially the last track. This is basically the closest to a demonstration of my studio's full potential, basically using all but 1 instrument. Apparently, the trick to making your synth sound super retro is just to detune and drift the fuck out of your oscillators, which both keyboards in the last track have in droves. I'm really liking the textures that are coming out of the DeepMind in general. It's based on the Juno-106, so it's an 80s synth at heart, but a 10s synth in body.
I still find myself gravitating to reapplying the limitations the Juno had, mainly syncing envelopes 1 and 2. I get GAS (Gear-Acquisition Syndrome) a lot, especially for dream polysynths like the Prophet 5 and OB-Xa, but this keyboard is probably all I could ever need out of a polysynth for a good long while. Maybe, one day, I can upgrade to a Rev. 2 or some shit, but for now, I need to appreciate what I could get my hands on.

Another recent single. As the title suggests, I absolutely demolished 3 pints of stout before making this which, unlike THC, actually had a very positive effect in the creative process. This is also the first time I make use of multitracking on my multitrack recorder lmao. I swear I've done more multitracking on Audacity (through a shitty behringer usb mixer) and my sampler (at 32khz quality) than I've multitracked on the literal machine dedicated to recording, mixing and mastering like 24 fuckin tracks at once at 44.1khz/16-bit CD quality. I use CD btw, har har. I'm so old school.

Recent track utilizing my polysynths and my sampler. About as close I'll get to an OPN-like setup I'll get. Despite taking a lot of inspiration from Daniel Lopatin's early works, I actually wind up not really making music like he does. I do something more subtly layered rather than just punching the same arp into a bunch of loopers to create that sort of swampy insanity his shit'll be like. My melodies are also more somber rather than adventurous and retro-futuristic. I get told my shit is has more Aphex Twin DNA in it than OPN DNA, so there's that.
My stuff isn't nearly as experimental as Aphex Twin though. I'm more traditionalist about it where I use pretty fundamental instruments to build soundscapes with. Analog monosynth, polysynth, FM synth, and a fairly simple sampler. With pretty basic, but tried-and-true effects like the Quadraverb, MPX-1, and a good ol' cheap Behringer pedal.
