God's love
God’s love is a fire that never burns out and cannot be extinguished in any way. Throughout the Bible, God has proven His burning and unconditional love for His people.
For example, in the story of Noah’s ark, in the book of Genesis, He promised He would destroy and cleanse the earth with a mighty flood for 40 days and 40 nights. However, God saw one man, Noah, who was honest, just, and was obedient to God. Noah was not sinless, but he prayed to God and asked Him for forgiveness for his sins. God was pleased with Noah, and spared him and his family from His wrath, telling him how to build the ark so it could withstand the flood. Noah, perhaps instructed by God, told the people to repent so they may be saved as well. But in their wickedness, they ignored him. God didn’t want to destroy His people, but He had to in order to cleanse the world. He saved Noah and his family to give the world another chance by giving them the same instructions He told Adam and Eve to “be fruitful and multiply” and also promised never to destroy the world with a flood again (Genesis 8:20-22).
Even after those events, mankind was still sinful because “mankind’s heart is evil from childhood” (Genesis 8:21). Despite this, God did not feel even an ounce of hatred for us. For He is our Father in Heaven, and like an earthly father, will be upset because His children misbehave. Human nature is to sin, and God absolutely loathes sin, because it leads His children away from His presence, which he dislikes. He has made it quite clear that the punishment for sin is death. However we, sinful as we are, could not and cannot pay the price for sin, as it is too steep a price for us all. Yet, God, in his infinite love and mercy paved a way to Him, through his Son, Jesus Christ. He sent His beloved Son to be tortured, to be humiliated, to die, to pay the price, to suffer the punishment we deserved. Jesus took this burden on Himself willingly, to give us the free gift of God’s mercy. He made Himself the way, the path to God’s presence because “ God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him, will not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16) and also that he is the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Isn’t God’s love magnificent? He loved us all so much that he refused to let His wrath extinguish His burning love for us. Amen. Please share and spread the Gospel.
