I’m very toasty rn remind me in the morning to write about some random time in my life
This blog is supposed to be a journal entry esque thing summary of my life and I kinda suck at journals I guess
Problem is I can never remember to do the thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I tend to be a smidge drunk or sleepy when I write posts here, but fuck capitalism and US healthcare, I’ll stand by that.
I’m trying to get adhd medication refilled after months of not having it and it’s just not working
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I’m tired of having exhausted smooth square brain

I guess at some point I should start with the earliest memory I have. Again, my memory is weird, I only remember snippets of things happening, most of it not at all. It’s kinda like remembering a dream where you’re not sure what happened before or after.
One of the first few things I remember is a few snapshots of my childhood. A place where we used to live, a house we almost moved into, and then learning to read a book in my old room. From there, everything else blurs together.
I spent most of my life in the same house, apparently since I was 2, which places those memories right around then (I think?). It’s weird to think that most of my childhood exists within a small square footage, never moving or traveling much.
It still shows up in my dreams sometimes, I moved out about 7 years ago now.

I kinda forgot about this page for a little bit.
Sometimes there’s stretches in my life where nothing happens, and then sometimes lots of stuff happens at once.
I got a new car, thanksgiving happened, I found the post my blog is based on, I have a very long to do list of cleaning, decided once my new insurance goes through I’ll go see about my adhd, need to 3D print some stuff…
Busy busy busy

I found it! This is the post that inspired this blog. Thank you for this perspective, may you all have interesting lives <3
I spotted a reply to one of my posts:
Tumblr media
And my knee-jerk response was "no, you should hear my friends talk about their lives--"
And it made me remember something.
Back in high school, my IB class did a lock-in-- where the group of students gets locked into one part of the school overnight on a weekend-- and after junk food and video games lost their appeal, we got to talking.
Only I didn't really know anything about almost any of them. They were all friendly enough, but I kept to myself for the most part, so we didn't have much to talk about once standard small talk ran out.
So I asked one of the other people sitting with me: "what's your story?"
Your life story.
And he told me. Sixteen years or so condensed into maybe a half hour. And it was the most fascinating life I could have imagined: the places he'd been, the things he'd done, the experiences that defined him. It boggled my mind.
When he finished and turned the question around to me, I thought mine sounded really boring in comparison, but he listened open-mouthed to the entire thing. Other kids were gathering around us by now, listening in. And when I finished mine, I turned to another one of them and asked the question to them.
And just like before, my mind was blown. A completely different life, completely different focal points, defining experiences, goals the likes of which were deserving of an anime. And the same happened with the next person we asked, and the next.
By the time each one of us had finished telling their story, it was time to go home for the morning. The video games had been abandoned hours ago. None of us had slept. We were too caught up in each other's lives.
All of which is to say:
Thank you. I do lead a very interesting life.
So do you.

I just remembered part of the reason I started this blog
I wanted to write out a whole story of logbook/journal entries but post apocalyptic
Kinda like wtnv where it’s episodic but things happen? Idk I’ve only listened to the first few episodes of wtnv. As usual the idea wasn’t very fleshed out
I forgot to get good at writing though.
Ah well, I’ll stick to being an npc at a bar that just has endless dialogue choices

You ever end up in a situation and think,
“Yeah, this isn’t the stupidest thing I’ve done, but it’s up there!”
I should reflect and think about those situations. I should reflect and think about a lot of things. Really leaning into the vampire bit here, huh? I sleep during the day and don’t reflect. Hmm…
Anyway I walked three and a half miles after work the other day bc my car was broken and I needed parts. But at least it’s fixed now.
I should write more…
I wonder what the stupidest thing I’ve done is…

Someone said they like my blog design, which is funny because this is technically a side blog I set up in like 5 minutes.
The header and profile pictures are both pictures I’ve taken myself.
The header is a picture of a beach on the Gulf of Mexico, profile picture is a penguin, actually not too far from the above beach. Both were taken a few years ago, at different occasions.
I think the beach day it was cold but I don’t really remember. The penguin was at a tourist attraction that offered a behind the scenes look at their exhibit and you could see where they make the food and get super up close with em. Fuckin love penguins, top 5 animals of all time.
(I’m intentionally being vague about locations just because but obviously penguins aren’t native to the Gulf of Mexico lol)

I’m tired…
And I don’t just mean that in the “I didn’t sleep well” way, I mean the “life is exhausting way”
It feels like the words “I’m tired” don’t carry enough weight to them

Our apartment is small, like 560ish square feet. Yes, it could be worse but it could be better. This has been the biggest annoyance ever, but I guess it’s fine. Rent used to be cheaper and the area is convenient so that’s why we picked it.
I can’t wait to find a new place. I’ll never be able to afford a house I suppose, but one day I’ll find somewhere that makes us happy.
I really just wish I could fit all the stuff better. Like literally every surface is full of something, there’s shelves everywhere and stuff on the shelves. I’m out of space.
Maybe I need less stuff…

I don’t have a specific time, but I do know my mom used to be a nanny/babysitter/whatever you call it when I was growing up. She loves taking care of kids, still doing so somewhere.
I remember the summers at random rich people’s houses, playing around or reading or whatever, I don’t remember. And you knew these people had money, it was always a big house.
I remember my mom used to make fish sticks and tater tots for lunch every once in a while. Simple, quick, toss em in the oven, done.
And that’s why I have some in the air fryer right now :)
