ooo sick headcanons with rita??? or olivia ? whichever hehe i’m not sure if you’ve already done some or not

I did a fic with this kinda thing for Rita and for some reason I’m really feeling writing for Olivia right now? So you’re getting Liv for this one

When it first starts to hit you, it’s just a case of the sniffles and you’re a little overtired. You brush it off as allergies, but Liv still picks up some cold fx and extra vitamin c for you just in case.

She comes home at the end of the day to find you curled up on the couch in your favourite hoodie of hers, a now cold cup of tea on the coffee table. She doesn’t want to wake you yet, so she starts on dinner, making an easy grilled cheese and tomato soup for both of you, something that’ll be easy on your stomach if it’s bothering you, and soup, because, it’s soup.

She softly and gently wakes you up, stroking at your cheek, pausing briefly to feel how hot your forehead is while your eyes flutter open. You apologize for not having dinner ready and she laughs, making sure that you know it’s more than okay and you seem to be under the weather anyways. You’ll munch through about half of the sandwich, but finish your bowl of soup. Liv can tell that you’re already stuffed up, and coughing a little bit.

She double checks the medicine cabinet, passing you some meds, and makes you a fresh pot of tea before snuggling up with you on the couch. She’s just the ultimate of soft and doting, stroking at your hair until you’ve fallen back asleep on her shoulder. Before you actually do go to bed, she’s making a trip down to the bodega quickly to stock up on essentials.

The humidifier’s on in the bedroom, she makes sure the air purifier’s on in the apartment just in case half of this is allergies. She’s got a back of various soups, lots of orange juice, some electrolyte water/sports drinks to keep you hydrated, and ingredients to make her homemade chicken noodle soup that you love so much. She’s also picked up some gravol in case you start puking later on.

Liv defs puts you to bed early, insisting that you need the rest. You whine a bit in protest, wanting her to come snuggle you until you fall asleep. She can’t say no to pouty sick you, so she holds you until you’re out before she starts on that homemade soup, making sure it’s done for the next day.

If you’re worse in the morning, she’s definitely staying home from work, doing whatever paperwork she can while you sleep on the couch. You watch all the crappy daytime t.v together like you would when you were a kid home from school. You’re betting over the costs of things on the Price is Right, giggling, more than happy that she stayed home with you. While you may be so stuffed up you can barely breathe at least you get some extra time with your girl.

If Olivia’s the sick one, it’s nearly the same routine, but you definitely have to convince her to not go into work. She tries to keep up with paperwork at home but it’s not helping her growing headache. You drag her away from the table to snuggle on the couch, massaging at her neck and stiff hands to at least somewhat relax her, encouraging her to try to nap and you’ll make some lunch.

When Liv’s sick, she’s pretty groggy, there’s more sleeping and snuggles while you take the extra time away from work to make sure the house is tidy, dishes are done and there’s fresh sheets on the bed so she’s not tempted to try to do any of it. She’ll more than easily got to bed early, she knows once she’s already home, she may as well take as much care of herself/let you take care of her as possible so she can get back to work sooner rather than later. You’ll usually have Netflix on in the background, the volume turned down pretty low with her head in your lap as you play with her hair until she’s asleep.

Olivia & the Intern

The first time Oliva notices you is when you’re knees deep in boxes of old case files in the basement. You’d been hired on to help properly organize the backlogs of paperwork and document everything that needed to be to help people find old/cold cases when need-be.

She’s down there because the case they picked up matches an open one from one of her first years at SVU.

You jump in surprise at first, not realizing there was anyone else in the basement (music playing softly on your phone covered up the noise). You cover it up with an adorable giggle and ask “Detective Benson” what she needs help with (which throws her for a little loop, you knew her name even though she had no idea you even worked there)

You manage to find what she needs almost instantly, giving her a warm smile that she returns before heading back upstairs

By the end of the day, you’ve found another three open cases that have a lot similar with the one she was looking for, dropping them off at her desk on you way out. She’s impressed you remembered, but also that you went above and beyond what you were supposed to do.

In return, she makes sure to bring you fresh coffee (and not the crappy precinct stuff) a few times a day over the next couple of weeks

She notices you have a habit of getting there in the morning and not leaving the dust filled basement until it’s time to clock out, she never sees any food wrappings when she drops off the coffee and one day brings you lunch.

You’re obviously flattered, blushing at the fact that she really didn’t need to.

Before you know it, you’re actually taking lunch breaks, sometimes you’ll eat with her in the break room but it doesn’t take long before she’s offering to take you out, getting out of the stuffy basement, actually seeing some sun.

At first you’re just alternating paying, getting to know each other, but then she bites the bullet and asks if you’d wanna grab a drink on Friday night

What ends up being a sort of accidental first date ends pleasantly, with a tender hug, a lingering kiss on the cheek and the promise of another one the following week, both off you smitten with heated cheeks as Olivia tells you goodnight and you make her promise to text you once she’s home safe
