actually incredibly deep story with very fun and multilayered characters.

belle epoque kinda vibes mixed with bloodborne zombie apocalypse

genuinely has a better grasp of what the pinocchio fairytale than many, if not MOST other interpretations do, getting very close to the same themes the del toro version explores ( so yknow its great )

pinocchio getting human not because he's being polite and following the rules but because he gets to choose to be good. lies being seen as hiding the truth and hurting people but also as ways to hide harsh truths and make people happier, even for just a fleeting moment
