Hey, folks.

I've been missing the blog terribly lately, especially with all the copium going around and people being hopeful for Emmet and a conclusion to the eeby deeby storyline in the new Legends game but I also don't think I have the capacity to come back and post every day like I used to; I've got too many other irons in the fire, and not enough ideas.

That said, I do want to start posting again. It'll be less often, it'll be unpredictable, and I probably won't be taking requests (which I feel bad about, having just started taking them before my hiatus-- I'll try to get to the ones that are still in my inbox at some point). But I'll be here.

Another Quick Life Update

Howdy.

I'm still kicking around; lurking, mostly, and reblogging memes and stuff to my main blog, but I still check my notifications and my messages over here (I've noticed the Polar Express in particular is making the rounds again, lol). I won't promise I'll respond to everything and anything, but I do still see you guys and your tags still make me smile.

That said, edits are still gonna be on hold for a while longer. Things have been crazy at my job the last couple months, and while I don't want to get into it, there's been some issues with hours, computer systems, management, and people either quitting or taking medical/maternity leave. We're also about to have a whole new team going into Black Friday and the rest of the holiday season, so I'm sure that will be... an experience...

Anyway, we'll see what happens. Maybe things will have quieted down a bit by New Year's?

Relationship status: Celebrated 8 years with my wonderful partner this past July. Spent a week together in the mountains over Halloween. Trying to figure out a way to live together more permanently.

Current obsessions: I'm sort of in between obsessions at the moment. However, the big ones this year were the Mario franchise (especially Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga and Luigi's Mansion 3) and Cult of the Lamb.

An Update

So it's been a while.

The last time I posted, I was in the midst of a life-changing event. Since then, I've gone through several other major events-- I quit one job, started another, spent some time with family I haven't seen in years, my dad adopted a kitten (which I've been helping to take care of), and I'm currently planning a vacation with my long time partner for later this year.

Basically, the last couple months have been pretty intense, and things are about to get busy again in another couple of months.

All this to say, I've been wanting to get back to the blog for a week or two now, but after grieving a loss and with everything else that's been going on, I've definitely lost momentum. Part of me wants to get back to it as soon as I can, but there's another part of me that wants to wait until everything I've got going on has settled down, which would put reopening the blog sometime around November.

I haven't quite decided yet what I plan to do, but I still wanted to pop in and let you guys know what's up. I know I don't owe anyone anything, but it didn't feel right to continue to leave things as they've been, either; I figured it was time to open a window and let in some fresh air, metaphorically speaking.

Hey. So basically I've been trying to work out how to say this, or if I should even say anything at all.

I received some devastating news on Friday. I had to make some incredibly difficult decisions, and I will be saying goodbye to a dear companion on Wednesday. The summers have not been kind to me these last couple years. I will be grieving another loss. I already am.

As such, I will once again be stepping away from the blog for an indeterminate amount of time. I understand that I still have requests in my inbox. I understand that many of you have been eager for me to reopen the inbox so you can send in requests of your own. It is not a decision I make lightly, but it is one I must make for the sake of my mental health.

Thank you all for understanding.
