There is something so infuriating about AI generated fics on A03 !! Like, I honestly don't care if it's tagged properly, With everything on A03, you have the option to read what you want to based on the tags and ignore the stuff you don't. I'll never be that person complaining in the comments section about a story that was clearly tagged to contain a certain type of content. Be it AI generated or a certain trope.

What's infuriating is when I open a fic that ticks all the boxes of what I am looking for just to see it's so clearly Ai and not tagged as such.

Worse still, this particular fic i've stumbled upon is getting popular. It's got a decent amount of kudos and a heap of comments commending the author on their amazing writing. Maybe the red flag should have been the daily updates tag 😂

There is just something so fake about it. It's so obvious you can see where they've copied and passed the chapters in sections, extra gaps left where the Ai could only generate so much at a time. The same stupid use of phrases and descriptions. Those little metaphors it throws out every few sentences. Like "His voice was low like oil on water." Then add in the "-" and throw out a few describe words "slick and untrustworthy".

Like the story is good if you boil it down to the plot. The person has really taught it threw, and I like that, but the writing just pisses me off. And maybe this person just doesn't feel confident writing it themselves, and I don't want to shame them for that, but we all have to start somewhere. And I know myself that I'm not a great writer. But ugh, just tag it as Ai. Don't sit in the comments taking credit for something that took you five minutes to ram through ChatGPT. When some of us are in the trenches of writers block, trying to get a chapter out every month or two that their proud of.
