So I set up a pillowfort, which is where I'll be posting new art for the time being.
Right now I'm mostly just reuploading content that I had already posted here, but when I DO upload new stuff I'll post a low quality preview and a link to the pillowfort post for those interested
In light of tumblr deciding to once again shoot itself in the foot, I’ll be taking a bit of a hiatus from posting new art on this blog. I’m looking into some other sites to post on rn, so I’ll update you guys if I find something I like. Im not totally leaving tumblr, but I’ll probably just post links to new works, for those who are still interested - at least for the time being. I just don’t trust the hellsite at the moment, and honestly, I’m also pretty pissed about the whole situation.
To anyone who’s followed this blog (especially if you’ve consistently shown support for my art) words can’t express how deeply grateful I am to you. I see every like, reblog and, tag, and they mean a lot to me.
IMPORTANT: TUMBLR HAS MADE A DEAL WITH MIDJOURNEY/OPENAI.
YOUR ART AND IMAGES ON TUMBLR ARE BEING USED TO TRAIN AI MODELS.
The opt-in is automatic, but you can turn it off in settings.
Go to "Blog Settings" -> "Visibility" -> "Third-Party Sharing" and turn on "Prevent third-party sharing for [blog]". (This post shows how to do it on browser and on mobile.) You need to do this with every sideblog. (Note: The option in settings might not appear if your app hasn't updated yet. You can still opt out via browser.)
Spread the word. Everyone on Tumblr needs to know about this.
Hi, Tumblr. It’s Tumblr. We’re working on some things that we want to share with you.
AI companies are acquiring content across the internet for a variety of purposes in all sorts of ways. There are currently very few regulations giving individuals control over how their content is used by AI platforms. Proposed regulations around the world, like the European Union’s AI Act, would give individuals more control over whether and how their content is utilized by this emerging technology. We support this right regardless of geographic location, so we’re releasing a toggle to opt out of sharing content from your public blogs with third parties, including AI platforms that use this content for model training. We’re also working with partners to ensure you have as much control as possible regarding what content is used.
Here are the important details:
We already discourage AI crawlers from gathering content from Tumblr and will continue to do so, save for those with which we partner.
We want to represent all of you on Tumblr and ensure that protections are in place for how your content is used. We are committed to making sure our partners respect those decisions.
To opt out of sharing your public blogs’ content with third parties, visit each of your public blogs’ blog settings via the web interface and toggle on the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.
For instructions on how to opt out using the latest version of the app, please visit this Help Center doc.
Please note: If you’ve already chosen to discourage search crawling of your blog in your settings, we’ve automatically enabled the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.
If you have concerns, please read through the Help Center doc linked above and contact us via Support if you still have questions.
Do I need to draw tidy line-art so I know what the fuck I'm actually doing when I go and paint over it? yes. Does it hurt my soul a bit to fully line something and then completely cover it up? also yes.
youtube keeps showing me videos of the opla cast goofin round... so, I thought it might be a fun exercise to animate a couple clips, and make em look like the original show :]
anyways here's my first lil test. I'm going to attempt to animate some more fun bits and then compile them all into one video
