A more scruffy Esmund. Even though the Divine Warriors don’t age, I like the idea that they change with time. This is during the period they were fighting Shad. No time to shave! But still determined to kill the blight on the universe.

After I’m finished with this drawing, I’mma draw some Enki and Shad. I don’t know why, instead of interpreting Enki regretting his betrayal because it hurt Irene, I interpreted it as Enki realizing that Shad was an innocent victim. That he was mislead, deceived. And it hurt Irene, yes, but Shad too. They were close friends before. But Shad is too far gone to ever come back.

This is how I think the Divine Warriors feel about betraying/fighting Shad:

Irene: (Im not counting the child slaughter. That part of the lore still confuses me.) She had no choice to fight him. At that point, it was already too late and he had already became the Shadow Lord. And she was already feeling numb, lacking emotions.

Enki: He was manipulated (by Esmund or some other entity) to believe that killing Shad would end all evil and restore Irene’s emotions. Once he realized that he was wrong, he immediately regretted it and tried to apologize to his former friend but nothing could get through to him. He was reluctant about killing him even if he was evil.

Esmund: He’s either blinded by jealousy or seriously believes that Shad is the source of all evil. Or a mix of both. His resolve never wavered and he’s still convinced he did the right thing.

Kul’zak: He just likes creating chaos and he doesn’t regret any of his actions. He did it for his own entertainment.

Menphia: Probably felt bad but she wasn’t very close to Shad.

Garroth is arachnophobic in all my AUs, which is REALLY FUNNY considering I have an AU where he’s basically Spider-Man (albeit under the name Spider-Wolf).

He’s fucking TERRIFIED of spiders, but his spider-sense doesn’t warn him if there are spiders nearby, because it’s like ‘ah yes, my people. We are safe’ and so he keeps getting fucking JUMPSCARED. He hates it. Zane and Vlyad tease him soooooooooooo much oml

Mmm what if Garroth ends up killing Zane but because of the circumstances, history ends up painting him as the villain.

Like it was totally justified and necessary. But no one knows that when they find you stood over the bloodied corpse of a brother who, laid there, looks so much younger than you. Beneath You, he still looks like just a boy though you’ve known it’s been decades since he was one. You know, without looking, that you look far older than your years. Your hands look redder than his.

Even though you killed a monster, it’s your brother who lays beneath you, in a pool of his own blood.

I feel like if I explained Zane and Garroth’s LR dynamic people would get it all sorts of twisted

So to explain it without including explicitly the parts I think people would take too much at face value:

Zane desires Garroth’s power, immensely. Garroth who is so powerful and sorely missed that his absence alone is enough to sway the politics between cities, to inspire their father to swallow the region whole into his own domain. But the one position of authority that has never pushed him down, that has been a constant, that he could never deny, was his older brother.

He wishes to have the status Garroth had in every way but he cannot imagine an O’Khasis without Garroth’s sway. He will equate this to things that aren’t entirely accurate because he cannot find the words otherwise, because how could he explain such an immense yearning to coexist with someone he should reasonably despise? All he knows is to be protected by the power Garroth had, if it was physically in their youth, or now in adulthood, where Zane is let to live and breathe days onwards in the promise he will return Garroth to their father.

It’s why he cares to try and bring him home, why he tries so hard to recruit him instead of killing him and letting himself fill the void of power he left behind. Not because of Garte. But because no matter how much power he has, there is that shadow cast over him, and he has grown so comfortable underneath it.

But what if

ok think with me. what if, and hear me out. reincarnation is only half true. so, we know the three pieces of irenes soul or whatever, but if we look at them. really look at them?

Irene looks different from aphmau. she's white while aphmau isn't.

shad and all the others too look different.

what if in each reincarnation a piece of their soul brakes off and is either filled in with something new or filled in with something much older.

and over time as souls brake apart and put themselves back together they make a wild puzzle of what once was.

souls that had the most of their older souls and less new added to it are called old souls and those who have new chunks are newer.

everyone's soul is as old as they're first incarnation is. but it depends on how much it leaves behind and how much it keeps over the many years.

on this topic, from mcd to mys garroth got like, half his soul replaced. laurance stayed about the same, travis actually only changed the order of his soul with a little more. katelyn is near identical from the last soul leaving her with scars that didn't heal through lives, aphmau had to replace so much of her soul in each incarnation she may as well be a whole new person each time. Plus aaron is sat here with like, a forth of a proper soul holding itself together with hopes and ducktape. Zane has a little new in his soul but in reality it's more rearranged then new and vyald much like katelyn has his old soul (almost) the except same.

I feel like the MYS and MCD fandom(s) would be a little less toxic IF, Jess planned out the series a little more, before starting MCD (so that way she could’ve had more time flesh out the characters more). And IN MY OPINION made not in the 2010, just due to the way, people approached relationships, and dating during that time we’re not exactly the most healthy and I feel like that affected the writing a little negatively (and the way that characters are portrayed) .

I’ve been in a fandom since the middle of season three of my street, and then left (kind of) after the last season of my street. and it feels like the fandom hasn’t really matured too much since then.I really like MCD and MYS it’s a great comfort to watch them, but it feels like the fandom is still at war due to personal headcannons, actual canon, and stuff that will never learn because either, the characters weren’t fully flushed out or the writing wasn’t clear enough or because the series wasn’t continued ( I wish Jess continued with the diaries rewrite and MID). Our fandom doesn’t really have super clear canon (sadly) so we have to make up our own or piece together stuff and hope that it goes together. I love making head cannons and theories, but I know that they aren’t gonna be canon and I know that Jess has her own intentions for her characters, but we sadly will probably never know them. And honestly, I think we just need to accept that.

(Also, I feel like the fandom has a hard time accepting the fact that ALL these characters are very flawed. And not these amazing wholesome people who just want the best for everyone and aren’t selfish even once in a while. or make bad decisions that they regret.)
