Explaining why Zane keeps changing skin tone so much:

- Pale Zane (Season 1) He doesn't go outside much, he got severe vitamin D deficiency.

- Sick Victorian Zane (after season 4) He has a little bit of trauma from being brainwashed by Ein, got really depressed, dropped a lot of weight and stopped going outside. This is like the saddest version of him, this is also when he starts getting close to KC.

- Healing Zane (season 5) Gained some weight back and also started going outside again, that's why he looks tanner.

I was gonna do another drawing of Zane and Kawaii-chan during season 2. (but I got lazy, here's the sketch tho)

I was practicing anatomy and came up with a stupid idea.

Aphmau is an ass girl because I said so.

Fun fact: Jeoffry died cause he had all three and was too powerful to be left alive. (Lucinda also possesses all three assets but she has hot girl privilege and is immune to death)

I HATE learning anatomy, I usually bullshit my way through it and hope for the best, but once in a blue moon I'll get references and try to make it look decent. I still HATE IT 👹☺️

everyday i mourn dante’s character assassination from when he was adapted from mcd to mystreet

turning a guard who was the epitome of loyalty—i.e. him staying at the gates of phoenix drop for 15 years, living there totally alone for a good chunk of time—into a dude with little substance or compelling character traits that dated two girls at once is actually criminal

so, shadow knights scars glow when they're in their SK form, as well as their eyes going entirely red. their scars don't emit much light, but there's SK's like Sasha who are practically covered in head to toe with scars (mostly due to how she died) which makes her emit a decent amount of light to walk caves

silly thing i forgot to mention is that they also have fangs (as again mentioned in gene's story). this allows them to easily consume their carnivore diet easier.

with that said, when in SK form, incomplete shadow knights tend to go feral easier than immortal ones ie. Laurence during the werewolf wedding. zenix before he gained his immortality

FORGOT TO ADD!

the redder a shadow knights eyes are, the less humanity they retain, no shadow knight is truly inhumane, even after their immortality is reached. ie. gene still has a bit of blue in his eyes.

the only person of the shadow lord's army to be TRULY inhumane is Shad himself and it shows. using young people for his bidding (zenix, brian and zane to an extent), doing whatever is necessary to fulfill his goals.

also when i meant they're stinky, i meant it, they are reanimated walking corpses after all, they typically smell of either: rot, ash, sulphur or in very rare occasions metallic (makes sense if they died with armor)

their armor is still very much a work in progress for me because all armor i've designed so far is like- normal-ish?? chainmail, iron and such

fantasy armor isn't my strong suit :sob:

what i DO know is that sergeants have a lil bandana / arm band that shows their rank

netherite DOES exist in my rewrite but it's just another type of metal, more resistant to heat and the elements and such, but extremely hard to obtain since SK's don't have access to lots of gold since it's been mostly mined out close by their fortress, but even so no shadow knight knows how to properly work the metal

the only one that figured out was vylad, who learned from a traveling group of piglins one day in his usual 'disappear until i'm most needed TM' moments even so, since he's a guy light on his feet, and armor would weigh him down a lot, he only has some leg/knee guards and shoulder guards

The Phoenix Drop Guard

Hiii! Drew the full armor sets of the first few guards of Phoenix Drop we meet! The sword hilts contain the color from which rank they graduated the O'khasis Guard Academy, it's woven into the leather hilt once they receive their weapon.

Gonna ramble under the cut hehe!

Garroth

Garroth is purple rank, on the waiting list for the Jury! Malik and Matilda at first were confused when such a high ranking guard came into town, but welcomed him nonetheless. His loadout of choice is a claymore which he somehow wields with a single hand, and a shield.

Zenix

Zenix never went to Guard Academy, so he was trained by Garroth. He's considered by technicality a red rank, to which his mentor wove the color into the hilt of his sword. He's the one with the lightest loadout, depending on a bow, and in case things get heated, a short sword (Garroth has no idea where he got it from).

Brian

Brian is a tricky one! He was sent to the O'khasis Guard Academy, and never came back the same. He claims to have gotten injured in a 'mission' under his mentor, Ivan. He has yet to reveal what's under his bandages. Due to his mentorship under a warlock, he's a jack of all trades, knowing how to wield practically anything, but his main combo is a sword and shield.

He graduated with an orange rank, but was meant to receive blue. I'll write more on him later.

Grey Wind

Honorary member of the Phoenix Drop Guard. He's a tracking dog, a pretty good one at that. The moon charm around his neck and the one Brian carries he uses to communicate with his loyal companion.

Dale

Dale graduated with a green rank, practically perfect as second in command as he was before retiring from his duties. He wasn't pleased to find out Brian graduated with orange, but never questioned him for it. He prefers to fight with only a sword, after all nothing beats the classics.

In terms of body mass/muscle it goes:

Garroth > Dale > Brian > Zenix

Really tried my best to draw their bodies how i imagine them but it didn't come out perfect.

Awareness is a topic we learn about as of MCD episode 3, from Garroth's own mouth, and as we come to learn of it, it is a varying degree of awareness of one's own existence outside of being an NPC. the most basic form of awareness if having dialogue, whilst the ultimate form is being a player character yourself.

Garroth starts off the series with dialogue, thus he has always had a degree of awareness, however Episode 3 does push it a tiny bit.

"I'm not supposed to break any walls here" "people in this world", Garroth is using phrasing that sounds very... particular to the fact that they are in a game. It's possible Garroth has a heightened awareness below being a player, but it is very peculiar that he does.

it is not a one-off either, "one of the guards are acting... "different"" comes directly from Malik's journal, presumably about Garroth. and then. "This is my world. NOT his."

We know Malik was a player character, and as of episode 4, the only 3 confirmed player characters are confirmed. It's likely that the last sentence is about Vylad (who has been shown outside of the lord's house by this point iirc), but i don't think the mentioning of a guard acting 'different' is something to ignore.

idk.

I just feel like this has meaning. especially since being a player character has been linked to being a descendant of Irene later on.

but we will never know.

and then they proceeded to write a beautifully accurate description of aph thirsting over a flustered garroth’s shoulders and back and STOMACH THEY GAVE HIM A STOMACH HANGING OVER HIS PANTS YES GAAAHD 😵🤪🤩😵‍💫😋😖
