despite the fact that Tatooine is always portrayed as being literally the most miserable place ever, i think Cody living there is fucking PERFECT.

not only is Obi-Wan out there, but Tatooine is the polar opposite of Kamino- it’s a desert instead of a literal sea. it never rains instead of constantly raining. it’s got two shining suns instead of being always hung over and cloud covered.

there is no place in the galaxy that could possibly be more unlike Kamino. Cody has his sunburst painted on him, and now he gets to watch two sunrises and two sunsets instead of never getting to see that while on Kamino. i think that’s just a beautiful way to show his freedom from the Empire and the war.

like, yeah, it sucks, it’s dry, literally no one likes living there, but i’d like to think Cody might, just because of all that. (also, he knows he and Obi-Wan are safer there than anywhere else in the galaxy, and that comfort is helpful for him, too)

one of the weird things i noticed watching the phantom menace yesterday is that when he first meets and fights darth maul, qui-gon and obi-wan both use it/its pronouns for maul. not sure what was going on there

Bingo Closure

Hello everyone!

Karma here (obviously, there’s no one else here). I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who’s played Bingo. I’ve created a lot of cards for a lot of pairings and seen a lot of wonderful works created. But interest seems to be waning and so, like all good things, Bingo must too come to an end.

We’ve had a good run — two years!! — and so many wonderful people have pitched in to help (officially or unofficially). Bingo has evolved and become something more than I ever imagined when I rather stubbornly brought it back with the rules I remember from the days of yore (aka, LiveJournal). I know they confused some people (especially when there were other Bingo events being run) but I appreciate everyone who went along with my madness.

So, thank you to everyone who played and made the event(s) successful over the past two years. Here’s to you, more than me.

Bingo will officially close on June 1, 2024, to allow for anyone who’d still like to request a last Bingo card. Remember, cards were only ever there to help you create and the spirit of Bingo totally lives on.
