All about casual music interest. I mainly listen to Hardcore (Screamo), but also have interest in dubstep, and anything else that catches my ear.

Dance Gavin Dance - The Robot with Human Hair pt. 4 (New album Oct. 8th) (by riserecords)
Really like the new track. New comer Tillian's voice kind of reminds me of Stephen from Anberline, only a little higher.

Introduction To Vinyl (by Blindfates)
I noticed a lot of members of the Youtube Vinyl Community have been posting brief bios on their early and current experiences with collecting vinyl, and I decided to contribute my own, now that my collection seems to be growing at a steady, yet serious rate.
I forgot to mention that I'm currently spinning my records on the Audio Technica AT-LP60 Fully Automatic, Belt Driven Turntable.
You can additionally follow me on instagram (theweepingjester) where I post pictures of my collection as it grows individually. You know, if you want...

Coheed and Cambria - This Shattered Symphony (by MachRiderZero)
"Go on and give me then gun! Nevermind what I've done; They left me no choice, oh, they left me no choice. Go on and give me the gun! Let me blow them open. It's out of my reach. Nevermind what they think about me."

Radiohead - Weird Fishes / Arpeggi (by noah2413)
this song never get's old. reminds me of rainy days driving to places I didn't want to go to, and the only thing that pushed me forward was being able to listen to this song fall in tune with the pitter patter of rain hitting my windshield. To this day the most relaxing song I've ever heard.

Sleeping With Sirens - I'll Take You There (Feat. Shayley Bourget) (by riserecords)
Best song off the new record.  but on another note. All the Kellin fan girls are killing this band. I mean you have to be able to call yourself a sleeping with sirens fan for your opinion in the music to even matter to me. So many girls all crazy over kellin, but not the band? that doesn't make sense to me. I'm not saying you can't be a kellin fangirl, but at show you appreciate the music that the BAND puts out. Some of the youtube comments are ridiculous! One chick even said "Kellin makes the songs, he just tells the others how he wants it to sound" Seriously? I just don't want to see these guys at warped and be surrounded by screaming 16 year old girls who are scared of the pit. I WILL MAKE ONE DAMNIT.  ok, enough ranting...

Bring Me The Horizon - Sempiternal (2013)
There's a line where a band goes from becoming a band, to an artistic band. Any group of people with instruments can get together and create music. And though some may disagree, music it's self isn't art. However the molding, and a lot of coordination  can turn music into art. Once it's all pieced together, it makes something amazing.
This is a tougher goal to reach in the hardcore genres. When just any 30 second breakdown is enough to get the crowd moving, What can you do that will ensure fans will listen to the album well after the show? Bring Me The Horizon has been a constantly evolving sound, and they're damn good at making that. All their albums to date has had a simple adjustment that adds something new to the experience, while not fully abandoning the sound of the previous album. 3 albums have slowly shaped and led their way to this point, where BMTH breaks the barrier and becomes an artistic band. This is their 4th full length album: Sempiternal.
Tumblr media
In their studio documentary (which is included in the Deluxe Edition of the CD) The band talks about how they realized that they needed to take the next step and do something different with their sound. The biggest of these changes is the addition of keyboardist Jordan Fish, and front man Oliver Sykes has taken up clean vocals in addition to his standard rage filled screams.
Personally, I really enjoy the work of Fish. The keyboard allows the band to portray emotion on a much larger scale. The opening track, "Can You Feel My Heart", immediately welcomes the new instrument into the band and sets the tone for most of the album. Sure, they had electronic sounds in their long titled previous album, "There is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen it, There is a Heaven, Let's Keep it a Secret", but they were never this highly included. It really makes a huge difference in adding emotional feel to this album.
Oli's singing on the other hand is another huge improvement. In fact I was rather shocked when I heard how well he could actually sing. He still screams, but his singing helps add tone even more. Rest assured, it doesn't fall into the generic patter of chorus-only-singing. It's switched off with his screaming very well, and it switches when the mood permits it.
For those of you who were fans of BMTH's more heavier sound, it's still present. The band as a whole does an excellent job keeping the energy as it transitions, and there are still a number of songs that go hardcore through out the entire song ("Antivist", "The Crooked Young"). I have to admit though, I do have favor with the songs that utilize his singing to it's fullest such as in "Hospital For Souls" and in the Deluxe Editions bonus track: "Deathbeds" (Check this one out if you haven't heard it yet. I can't believe this song didn't make the album!)
The album is also very good in regards to the lyrics. They're deep and open for different perspective which should let some people find meaning in the songs that relate to them. They're as bold as they are deep. In the song "The Crooked Young", Sykes nearly mocks religion. It's a good sounding song, but those who are religiously involved will probably have a hard time enjoying a song that ridicules them in such a bold manner. For some more hardcore believers, this could ruin the entire album. Definitely a big risk on the bands part.
All together this album is gold. With a number of new innovations for the band, and a new more meaningful tone, this album will likely attract the attention of old fans, and new alike. I highly recommend cashing out the extra in order to get the Deluxe Edition, all 3 of the bonus songs on there are just as good as the rest.
