Ive had this Idea dinging around my skull about a typical deh / bmc crossover au (i know, already terrifying) but they are all yters / streamers (maybe minecraft streamers?). idk i find the idea somewhat interesting if executed well. like a study on how they would act in the public eye and how relationships are formed and interpreted by the public. i find social media / influencer (eugh. hate that word) aus really interesting if looked at through the perpective of the viewers rather than the characters, as its cool to see how familiar characters are warped through the lens of popularity and how fandoms would treat them if they were real. little to no tags on this post because its ass and also like 5:00 am rn.

Ok so my main headcanon for Chloe is that she’s black n transfem just because i think it offers such an interesting layer to her character. Like. Ok.

Chloe’s boss bitch attitude, her social status, her beauty are all a performance— one she puts on in order to ensure she is not denied her female-ness. The reason the clings so closely to her social status is because she fears if she is to lose it, she will no longer be seen as a girl. People can’t deny her girlhood if she is THE Girl.

This also ties into her poor treatment of brooke. I like to think some level, she feels envious. Brook never had to work as hard to be seen as a woman— she wants on some level to be or be like brooke. (If we are looking at this from a lesbian #pinkberry lens, then her treatment of brooke can also be seen as her taking out her frustration at being attracted to a woman. She doesn’t want to be lesbian because being a lesbian is just another slight against her Perfectly Feminine persona.)

its so weirddd that so much deh hate assigns evan traits he doesnt have i can think of a few examples but one is that implying that he lacks empathy. hes highly empathetic it was in his original character pitch its one of his main traits its why he says half of the lies in the first place. why is lacking empathy synonymous with being a bad person to you? why cant evan be highly empathetic AND a bad person? or is it just too impossible to believe someone who's like you can do something fucked up. people act so scandalized reading summaries of deh without actually seeing it like They expect us to sympathize with evan? and because evan is impossible to sympathize with and hes just too different or too other he has to be unempathetic or narcissistic or antisocial or whatever other traits they think are mutually exclusive with being on the same level of personhood as them
