At long last, another BITP update! Chapter 17 is in full swing; I broke the back of it today and I have a game plan chapters 18 and 19 as well.

I had hoped that I would have the fic done before College returns to send my progress back to the Stone Ages, but im willing to take that hit to make the fic the best it can possibly be :)

@darkmaster1003-blog's Hilda AU! In this one, after Hilda and Johanna's home was destroyed, they turn to Hilda's dad for a new shelter: Who in this AU is a man named Shinsaku Ushinotoki（丑十木参作）. He lives in a town called Kasukai（幽井）Somewhere on the edge of Nagano. Here, she meets some new friends, new enemies, and a shitton of yokai. We're talking Zashiki-Warashis, Okkas, Ningyos, Nuppeppos, Atuy Kakuras, In no Kameshakus and every type of Kitsunes under the sun; though most importantly, the Kokuko, or the black fox!

for anypony who knows me normally and dosent know about uma musume; the premise is basically just real life horses turned into anime girls. so obviously i decided to turn real life hilda into a horse girl

I think instead of a witch/familiar dynamic frida and hilda will instead have a trainer/horse dynamic

I started to draw frida and david for this au too but their designs don’t really change all that much so I don’t know that it matters whether I put them here really. David actually stays exactly the same,, but I gave Frida a clipboard and slightly different shoes I guess

Johanna would be a horse girl too!! I think if I did a family tree then phinium or whoever would be a horse girl, but anders and that blonde woman would be normal humans? At least, thats how I’m guessing it would go, though I’m not totally sure how genetics in umamusume are..

Hello everyone, I hate for this to come off the back of a new chapter (and especially when I slated a release date for the next one) but I will be taking a break from the BITP and writing in general for the next couple weeks.

I didn't talk about this in the notes/comments yesterday, but another reason this chapter took a while is, well, burnout! Specifically Hilda burnout (Ig exposure to brat over long periods is bad for your health). I've been feeling it for a while, but with this chapter it became kinda unbearable (especially as the weeks dragged on)

Chapter 17 will be a big deal (and probably a big one as per usual) and I don't want that to happen while im under a cloud of burnout, and I want to rewatch the show again in the meantime so I can fully reconnect with it (and also plan out how the fic will end more generally)

But rest assured Im not going anywhere, I'll still be here on Hildacord and Tumblr to talk and answer any questions about the BITP :)

TLDR: BITP on temporary hiatus while I reconnect with the show, want to focus on other creative stuff, will still be active on here and discord!

okay so what if I told you guys that the pmd au I've been yapping abt was leftover from sketches I did for the pmd event last year and then I was gonna finish it for the event this year and ran out of time again but anyway better late than never I guess

gonna yap about it some more under the cut :>

OKAY SO hilda the series but make it PMD - aka Hilda randomly wakes up as a pokemon (mountain king deja vu time) with no memories of where she came from except that she was human originally. and then is found by two aspiring explorers and, after teaming up for an adventure, decide to form an exploration team together. idk I think there’s a nice parallel to the show to be had in here with Frida + David helping Hilda adjust to the pokemon world and Hilda being the one to give them that little push to finally sign up to be an exploration team. the partner character in PMD EOS starts off as this really ambitious wannabe explorer who’s fascinated by the unknown …but is also too nervous to even set foot near the guild so I think splitting their personality into Frida (ambition) and David (fear) works pretty well. also David is the one who found the relic fragment bc it’s a cool rock so of course. the entire game's plot happens bc of that so everyone say thank u David

I haven’t thought much else out so far but I’m leaninggg towards Astrid replacing grovyle as the time gear thief - she was willing to sacrifice herself for Johanna in the show so I think that could be stretched into doing so to fix time and make a better future for the world. So my working idea is that her and Hilda teamed up in the future and travelled back to try and fix things together.

The only change I’d make is that instead of Hilda’s memories getting erased by accident when they travelled to the past, it would be Astrid’s doing (after all she has form w this hahaha). She’d be content with her own life being erased when the future is changed, but couldn’t possibly let the same thing happen to Hilda. So when they travelled back in time to finish their mission, she erased Hilda’s memories in the hopes that leaving her in the past and making her forget her role in this scheme would spare her the same fate…didn’t quite go to plan though

Astrid and Phinium are both shiny shaymin btw - I figured mythical Pokémon would be a good stand-in for fairies in the pokemon world, 'cause of how the PMD world treats mythicals/legendaries as a folklore thing. If I was gonna go deep into this I’m leaning towards the Fairy Entity replacing dusknoir as the pokemon trying to stop them from changing the future. (lbr hilda doesn’t have any characters evil enough for me to slander them by giving them dusknoir’s role lmao.) I think I’d write primal dialga out of this and just make it that the Fairy Entity rules over the dying future much like the fairy isle and doesn’t appreciate anyone escaping or trying to undo the damage. maybe

Phinium kinda fills Celebi's role..? He's helping Astrid fix the future. true to the spirit of season 3 I think he'd also go back to the past at some point & meet Lydia along the way, then when the Fairy Entity starts tracking them down they both flee back to the future, leaving their little one behind so she can have a better life in the past. In my head I have Phinium as a shiny sky-forme shaymin and lydia as a leafeon

Alsoo I wanted to put david's marra and kelly in here as a misdreavus and banette respectively and have them kinda fill Team Skull's role in the story but I didn't have the energy to draw them on top of all this i'm sorry :'))

I have thoughts on where Kaisa and Johanna slot into this but I just wanted to exorcise all my other thoughts out first bc they’ve been sitting in my notes app for 1 million years but we’ll get to them :>
