The thing people don't understand about female characters that "get in the way" of a MLM ship is that you don't have to make her 1. A lesbian (if that's your HC then go for it that's fine but I can tell when you do it just so she doesn't "get in the way" of your yaoi) 2. A raging fujoshi who's okay with everything or 3. A bitch for her to fit your narrative. You don't have to write everything to be in favour of your yaoi. Your yaoi doesn't have to be the rightest thing in the world that everyone has to agree with and if they don't they're a bitch. Is not misogynistic to write a girl who's rightfully mad at her boyfriend spending more time with another guy than her, or priorizing him over her, before he even has the balls to break up with her because he doesn't know what he wants. Women don't have to always be the "kyaaa I ship you guys SO MUCH >///¡w¡///<!!!!" Archetype for them to be a character that can still coexist with the gay ship in a positive way. If so, it shows that you're not able to see characters, specially female characters, in a multi-faceted way. Just be aware that he's in the wrong. He's the one who sucks for not being emotionally responsible, not her, and even so he would need to work that out before or while he gets serious with gay guy 2

Do I make myself clear? I feel like I'm saying a lot of shit. It's just that I have many ships that have a girl that "gets in the way" and fanfics too often mischaracterize that girl so they can get rid of her relationship with the other guy. Either by making her a lesbian, making her a fujoshi, or making her a bitch. And it sucks because you don't have to ignore her relationship with the other guy exist for your gay ship to work. I love thinking about what JamiKali’s dynamic would’ve been if things had gone differently. I feel like both Jamil’s and Kalim’s personalities would really shine in ways we haven’t seen before of them (though maybe later, who knows! There going through a lot of development in the main story so here’s to hoping 🤞)

This song, Seventeen, speaks of a desire to JUST be seventeen years old, to be normal, to not have damage and scars dictate all you are. I found this song very fitting with Jamil and Kalim, because they’re seventeen, but neither had the opportunity to ever just be normal teenagers. They’ve both gone through a lot, they’re “damaged”, but that doesn’t make them wise, or special, or different. They’re still just teenagers, not yet emotionally developed, young, and not capable of carrying so much weight on their shoulders. The line “we don’t choose who lives or dies” I find particularly applies well to Jamil’s whole, ahum, incident, but also in general to Jamil’s desire to be in control of things (which of course stems from his desire to be in control of his own life, so one could argue that he wants to be in control of whether he lives or dies).

Sometimes I feel we tend to forget how young the twst characters are. Even Leona, sitting at 20 years old, I’d consider relatively young, which just makes everything they go through that much sadder. They’re so young, and though there will never really be an age where it’s easy to handle this sort of stuff, as a teenager it’s even harder because life is already so complicated and difficult for them (speaking as if I’m not a teen myself lol).

Kalim in this song/animatic pleads to just be normal, to do normal teenage things, to set aside all the complicated feelings that have been bubbling under the surface for both of them, all the stupid things their lives have thrown at them, and to just be seventeen. Not the Housewarden and Vice-Housewarden, not Master and Servant, not an Asim and a Viper, but just Jamil and Kalim, just two seventeen year old boys.

Soooo it’s been a month… I promise I’m not dead and I also haven’t lost interest in twst, I’ve just been hyperfixating on other things, plus I’ve been really busy with school. Drawing can be really hard sometimes :(

I kinda pulled a Wiege (Alien Stage) by including some weird AU of some sorts huh! What a fun episode Wiege was, I totally didn’t sob violently! Also!!! The Scarabia manga has FINALLY released and its so cool!!! Well worth the way. The new Yuu is a Gyaru, and she’s so cool! I had my doubts on the artist they chose, but honesty they really delivered, I’m really happy with how the manga looks :)

He is Kalim's son. I once talked to a friend about Kalim and they said he'd probably be the first to marry and have kids affer graduating NRC so I gave it a thought... long ago in jamikali hcs post I mentioned possibility of Soma's existence in one of AUs so here he is.

Here would be a giant maxi fanfic if I really wrote the whole lore, so I'll just let you assume things about it! (it's not mpreg)

Soma is incredibly stubborn 16 years old young man with a strong sense of justice, sometimes it's almost ridiculous. He is book-smart, ambitious, but sometimes incredibly gullible and oblivious. Like here.

He also has a cool "uncle" he takes after and respects a lot. "Uncle" kinda uses him as a punching bag, but it motivates Soma to become stronger.

It's been a year since I created him btw 😭 but it is how it is.
