About Yve's name, it depends on the translation, for example, in the official brazilian portuguese and english translation her name is writen as "Ivonne", but if you go to the french one (both online and physical version) her name is writen as Yvonne.

By the end of the day, you just need to choose your favorite version or the one they use in your country — I, for example, prefer to write "Yvonne" bc I got accustomed to it and I also like to call and write her nickname as Yve instead of Ive (same pronunciation), but since the official translation here is Ivonne I usually go by it ♡

▪︎ Penelope's name is also written a little different in french, it's written as "Pénélope", which is probably the french version of the name;

▪︎ The portuguese version of Penelope is actually "Penélope", but New Pop (the publisher) choose to keep it like the english version (which I'm particularly happy, since I got accustomed to write her name like this);

About 2 weeks ago I bought 2 Faber Castell pens and wanted to test them, so I decided to try something with watercolor and the first character that came to mind was our dear Ivonne Eckhart, to be exactly, her as a child. So I present to you: mini Ive!! ♡

Ok, so, in the novel side stories, it is mentioned that Ivonne has a temperament similar to Reynold's, so I tried to pass a similar, a "let's try to copy my big brother" and a "I'm the boss" vibe while drawing it and that's how it turned out ♡

After seeing that shitty frenchamerican movie about mexicans without any mexican cast winning so many awards im glad Brazil winned this! I dont even care about oscar, this is HUGE!!!!

"I'm still here" isnt just a random film. It is about the military dictatorship, which on the contrary of countries like Argentina and Chile, Brazil didnt punished most part of the people that did and colaborated for all the deaths, crimes and opressions, and many families still and probably wont ever know where their family members were "buried/disposed".

And not only historic value and resistance against military coups (which are a constant threat with the rise of extreme right in Brazilian politics and military), this is a win for the lack of support and acknowledgement brazilian cinema has, by our own government and by gringos, that keep on pretending the world is just hollywood and some few european countries

My position is that gringo awards arent the reason we make films. But it does help a lot. It attracts investment, international film companies, something continents like latin america doesnt have compared to japan, korea, china, india and european countries own independent film and shows productions, so much they even have prestigious relevant cinema and tv show awards season.
