Hello! I just read your fic ‘at the expense of the world’ for the first time and Jesus Christ there are no words to describe how absolutely mind-numbingly, gloriously, unbelievably hot and perfect it is. Beautifully cruel God-Emperor Tom? His darling puer Harry who no one else can lay a finger on? The power imbalance, the reverence and fear of Tom from everyone in the setting…. It’s all just superlative. I wanted to say thank you so so much for writing and sharing it with the world. I also wanted to ask if you had any recommendations of fics that have similar vibes/similar AUs (worshipped ruler tom, pet concubine harry)? ashjdhd i hate to be the bearer of bad news anon but i wrote that fic specifically bc i was like damn, i dont think anyone's written anything quite like this before, with the deification of the abuser protag and the objectification of the victim protag :') it was very much a moment of one part of my brain going 'someone should write this' and the other part going 'well. yknow. you know what they say' and me going ughhhh FINEEEE

I think obsidianpen has a dynamic something like it though? in No Glory? but i have never read that story because i heard it was very angsty and not very smutty (at least, not at first) so i can't confirm that, though harry does push back more in that fic iirc. and there was that one fic written in first person where vee (later just called tom) tried his damndest to break harry's spirit by just... well. noncon. and eventually tried to get harry pregnant, which has a similar kind of dynamic. it's orphaned now and i forgot the name, but it definitely still exists somewhere. and there was one fic where tom was a egyptian god or pharaoh, and harry was also traveled back in time, which inspired the beginning of expense. i'm not sure if that fic still exists though :(

that aside, thank you so much! i really appreciate the praise and kind words <3 i don't know if harry is his darling puer currently XD but he's definitely untouchable by the rest of tom's... staff, and of course the rest of the world.

How To Lock All of Your Fics At Once On Ao3

Someone has probably already done this but

For anyone looking to lock their works for only registered users over on Ao3 in light of the sudowrites scraping thing here is how you can lock all of your fics at once.

Log into Ao3 and go to your Profile, Works or Dashboard

At the top under you’re user name there are four buttons pick Edit Works

Second row of buttons on the right chose All and then hit Edit

Scroll down past all of your works and then keeps scrolling until you find Visibility  change it to Only Show to Registered User

(If a fic is over the tag limit you have to edit those down to make edit to the work.)

Hit Update All Works at the very bottom and you are done all of you fics should now have a little blue lock next to your user name on each fic.

AO3 has been scraped, once again.

As of the time of this post, AO3 has been scraped by yet another shady individual looking to make a quick buck off the backs of hardworking hobby writers. This Reddit post here has all the details and the most current information. In short, if your fic URL ends in a number between 1 and 63,200,000 (inclusive), AND is not archive locked, your fic has been scraped and added to this database.

I have been trying to hold off on archive locking my fics for as long as possible, and I've managed to get by unscathed up to now. Unfortunately, my luck has run out and I am archive locking all of my current and future stories. I'm sorry to my lovelies who read and comment without an account; I love you all. But I have to do what is best for me and my work. Thank you for your understanding.

was talking to my mom about how white people ignore the contributions of poc to academia and I found myself saying the words "I bet those idiots think Louis Pasteur was the first to discover germ theory"

which admittedly sounded pretentious as fuck but I'm just so angry that so few people know about the academic advancements during the golden age of Islam.

Islamic doctors were washing their hands and equipment when Europeans were still shoving dirty ass hands into bullet wounds. ancient Indians were describing tiny organisms worsening illness that could travel from person to person before Greece and Rome even started theorizing that some illnesses could be transmitted

also, not related to germ theory, but during the golden age of Islam, they developed an early version of surgery on the cornea. as in the fucking eye. and they were successful

and what have white people contributed exactly?

please go research the golden age of Islamic academia. so many of us wouldn't be alive today if not for their discoveries

people ask sometimes how I can be proud to be Muslim. this is just one of many reasons

fam don’t call a fic abandoned unless the author has stated it’s abandoned or is known to be dead. you have no idea if the fic is abandoned. life happens to people, and it’s not uncommon for a fic to update 3, 5, 10, or even more years later. it’s folly to assume that a fic is abandoned, because you deprive yourself of the chance that one day you’ll refresh a page (or open an email) on a random Tuesday afternoon and suddenly see a 10k word update to the novel-length fic your favorite author hasn’t updated in 13 years. and don’t tell other people a fic has been abandoned either, for the same reasons. And certainly please don’t comment it on the author’s fic or their posts elsewhere online lol

'where are the updates? has dutch died or gotten seriously ill? usually he updates every month or so...' i imagine some of your thoughts may go something like this. fortunately, i am not dead. unfortunately, i am ill, but t'is just a flesh wound (uncomfortable cold) and i should be back to normal by the end of the week.

horribly, i have been struck by a much greater and graver affliction, namely Web Design. so i've been. uh. creating my own website(s) from scratch. that's what i've mainly been doing for the last 2 months, partially for archival purposes. (i started way earlier but it's been very much on again off again.) i expect to be done with the fic archive part of it in a few weeks, so stay tuned for that i guess?

meanwhile i guess you'll just have to be patient as uploading fics takes a bit of a backseat. ta

Cam for the Money, Stayed for the Fun Actually both parts of this series were bangers. I popped off with that thing. Deliciouse. I think that was the first fic of mine someone ever recced btw

Initiative and prerogative as well. good stuff. i love the idea of sex robot tom riddle i did not miss with that one

Like a Flower That Blooms i miss writing tomcest tbh. i should continue that series it was really good :( maybe i should include tom sr in it as well and make it into the world's most fucked orgy

Pattern I liked exploring harry as a sort of villain in tom's story, and i think i might do so again in more detail and a different setting. i like crawling into tom's mind either way

Rot i cannot express enough how much you need to read the story i remixed this from. it lives rent free in my brain and the fact that it is a remix of that fic will make rot one of my favourite hp fics ive ever written.

Something New banger alpha/alpha fic tbh. i popped right off with this one
