Okay. What was that.
I don't have WORDS to describe this book.
The construction of heroes and villains was much more explored in this book, especially with the revelation that Ace Anarchist is alive.
And no matter which side you choose, they will fuck with your expectations in the end. There's no right side. Nothing is black on white.
The villains are not wrong just as the heroes are not right. And I think ("think" no, I'm sure) that's what makes the book even better.
Because it escapes from that cliché that the protagonist will have a something with the good guy until he reveals himself as the evil guy and then another guy appears. The guy that everyone thought was evil and in fact revealed himself to be good, and she chooses him.
We don't have that here.
There's no good guy that turned out to be evil. Or evil guy and who turned out to be nice.
BESIDES, this book was like, bomb after bomb, right? My God in heaven, what was that!?!? SOS
I just have to say: Nova, I love you. Adrian, I love you.
God, I can't wait for the next one!
Bye!!

Okay. I didn't have high expectations about this book.
It was on my shelf for about two years while I was trying to figure out whether or not it was worth reading, despite all the positive reviews about it.
But I have to be honest, this book surprised me.
Of course, as the first book in a trilogy you may find it a bit too simple, stale, even a little dull, but it's worth persisting.
Like, what was that ending, guys?!
Simple reading, however, was what saved me from my literary hangover, so I highly recommend it.
Excited to start the next one!
Bye!!

Xaden helping Violet take a shower during her depressive episode was imo the most romantic/intimate thing they’ve done.

Fantasy - 560 pages
⭐️⭐️⭐️🎖️ (3,5 stars)
I don't have much what to say about this book. It's cool and it catches the reader's attention despite being a little slow in some parts and with some descriptions.
But, I found it VERY similar to several books I've read but the main one was Red Queen.
I have no idea which one was released first, and which qualifies as a copy of the other, but speaking from my experience I think Poweless is the copy since I read Red Queen first.
The construction of the universe and some elements of the narrative seemed VERY similar to Red Queen, and maybe that's why I found it a little boring with all those descriptions since I already knew the dynamics of the universe.
I know there's been a whole discussion about it on other platforms so I won't go deeper into it.
Despite everything, it's an easy book and it's being great to cure the hangover that Onyx Storm put on me.
Hope you liked it,
Bye bye!!

📚: Onyx Storm
✍🏻: Rebecca Yarros
Fantasy - 651 pages
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 stars)
(This text was transcribed from Portuguese by cadet Ana with as much veracity as possible and all names were preserved in the name of honoring those who lost their lives in the battlefield and their families)
Onyx Storm was one of the BEST books I've ever read in every possible way. Despite being suspicious to say that because of my obsession with dragons, this book surpasses EVERYTHING.
You know that book that by the cover you don't give much credit, thinking it's just going to be another cliché book, but in the end it DESTROYS you completely? Well...
Just like Rebecca's last two books, this one will definitely give me a reading slump, I'm already feeling it, and the fact that the next one will only be released in 2027 makes everything worse.
Unfortunately.
I feel destroyed, massacred, shattered, as if an army of dragons had passed over me only to then a group of griffins come and dance over me.
And like, WHAT WAS THAT LAST CHAPTER???? I hope Rebecca feels bad for us and releases some bonus chapters like she did with the extra chapters of Xaden's pov.
Until then, all I can do is wait to suffer again... wait for two years (or three years depending on which month she intends to release the next book)
Bye bye, guys.
