arctuurusregulus:
who: open where: leaky cauldron
Regulus had many other things he’d rather have done on a day off, but Amycus had kept going on about cleanup and the Mulcibers’ shop and the owl shop. Next thing Reg knew, it was evening and he’d spent the entire day casting repair spells and healing the ten thousandth person who’d tried to pick up broken glass with their bare hands. The pint in his hand was well-earned, goddammit.
“At least it was only the one man, right?” he said, making a face once he realised how that sounded. “I mean, I heard about the attack and thought it’d be all hands on deck at Mugo’s. Diagon Alley, y’know? But the worst thing I healed today was a broken toe– someone dropped a brick on their foot.”
.
She was sure she’d made the same face he had - and only knew it because she’d nodded as he’d spoken. Ivy agreed, she did; at least it was just the one death. It wasn’t great that there was any death, of course, but at least it was only the one. She couldn’t bring herself to think the next part of the thought, the part the rest of her world would think, collectively. “Really? Just a toe? Huh.”
It was nice he’d offered a redirection to latch on to, it made the first part feel like a distant memory (a nice perk afforded to those from certain families - things were forgettable if they weren’t about you). A beat later, she’d pulled, seemingly from nowhere, a full tray of cupcakes, and she offered them up to Regulus, lifting the lid. “I dare say you’ve earned a cupcake then,” she told him, grinning. “Two, if you fancy. There’s plenty.”

location: the hogs head.
status: for plot drop 001, open.
gods, it was upsetting to be in diagon alley right now. so upsetting that he even found himself in hogsmeade. how shocking even for edgar. but he needed to get out of diagon for a little bit. even if it was just for thirty minutes. being in different parts whether it be knockturn alley or muggle london or hogsmeade made him forget about the recent events. “oi, one light ale please, firewhisky’s too burnin’ right now. and….. get one for the bloke next to me too. their goblet’s empty!” edgar says shockingly almost as if it it was a crime against humanity to have an empty goblet. “oh, uh— i hope you don’t mind that i just got you another drink, i guess i should have said something first. sorry– right— ANYWAYS, i don’t come here often, but it feels weird going to the leaky right now.” he says furrowing his brows once his drink comes he instantly takes a swig of it.
.
“You’re in my neck of the woods, now, Bones,” Ivy said, laughing - though it was probably wrong to laugh, just then, same as Edgar had said it felt wrong to go to the Leaky. But Ivy loved it here, with Abe; he even let her behind the bar, how could she not love this place? “But no, I don’t mind that you forgot I was not Augustus, but Iverson, and am, in fact, a fair bit shorter than he is. Also that I’m not a bloke.” She was wearing a kilt, she’d give Edgar that, but sometimes you just needed a little comfort, and nothing screamed cozy like your favorite kilt. “I actually thought that part was funny.” Bringing her legs onto her stool, she rose onto her knees to get a little more height, pointing at the bottle of whiskey she wanted the grouchy old man to bring to her along with her new pint. “I mean, I live here, so I’d always rather come see Abe. But everyone else always goes to the Leaky, so that’s where I end up a lot.”

who: open where: just outside of Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour ( or what’s left of it )
Arthur couldn’t believe it. He was just here. Not that long ago. He kept staring at the broken glass and wondering what prompted people to do this. He would never understand. There was an anger in his chest that he couldn’t explain. This felt like a message. This felt like they were warning them. Something had to be done. He knew the Aurors were working on it but.. it didn’t feel like that was enough. He wasn’t paying attention that someone was calling his name. Arthur looked over his shoulder, “Sorry.. did you say something?”
.
Iverson offered Arthur a soft smile, holding the large stick of colored chalk aloft and out to him. “I asked if you wanted to draw something on the street with me, or leave a note maybe?” She wiggled her fingers, making the colored stick “dance”, but gave him a shrug a beat later, unashamed that she was trying to brighten things up a little. “Everything is so sad, right now, and while that’s ... absolutely the tone of the moment, I just feel like maybe it doesn’t have to be so dark. And a temporary little picture, or a memory or a note .. that’ll brighten someone’s day, right? Maybe even yours.”

a snort escaped doris’ lips– a loud obnoxious snort as she watches ivy bring the cup up to her lips. her own lips parted briefly as she leans into ivy taking the cup from her hands and pressed her chin against ivy’s. “i like it when you say stuff like that and pretend to prevent yourself from saying other stupid things.” she says, the bottom of her lip brushing against ivy’s as she spoke though not quite closing the space between their lips. though ivy caught her off guard when she kisses the side of her cheek. a smile forms on her lips as she looks at ivy, her dark brown hues studying ivy’s. “usually dinner is prepared at a decent hour, even if you want to take a nap again, i wouldn’t mind. i’ll probably need one after eating.” she says a bit jokingly as she leans into ivy a bit more, “you know if you want to just kiss me, you could have done it by now instead of just kissing my cheek.” she hums out playfully as she finds her free hand wrapped around ivy’s thigh. she had always enjoyed it when she watched the other blush at moments like these. her gaze studies ivy’s before this time she actually closes the space between their lips.
.
She hated when Doris did this to her. Okay, she didn’t, but there was no such thing as personal space between them, never really had been. And Doris never followed through on her teasing; neither did Ivy, but Doris was the one doing the tormenting, just then, thanks - and Ivy couldn’t .. fucking concentrate, between being bewildered the vampire was so fucking clueless (Ivy, it was Doris) when she had to have been able to hear her pounding heart as easily as she could see the flushing or feel the goosebumps. And just when she finally got her wits together, got herself a little bit under control when she had no coffee to use as a lifeline, and nowhere to run, that very moment .. Doris swallowed the comment she was about to make, and Ivy forgot literally everything. Including how to breathe. It was still there, though, waiting for her, when she managed to pull herself back to take a little breath. “I only kiss girls I know will kiss me back,” she reminded Doris, barely whispering, smile a mile wide and moving against the vampire’s lips as she spoke, “and I’ve been waiting for you to kiss me for ages.”

“oh uh— actually i just finished getting what i needed.” did benjy really need any sweets? no but he got them for josh mostly on his way home from diagon alley mostly because he felt bad for him these days for being home so often. he looks at the abundances of care packages as he adjusts the bag of treats in his hands. “though it looks like you could use some help. how many have you made already?” he asks furrowing his brows as he sits across from her, trying to keep a safe distance from the glitter though. “i’ve got time i guess, i just need to get home before these chocolate frogs melt, though i suppose i could just get more.”
.
“I’ve made .... none,” she admitted with a laugh and a sheepish shrug. “But I have gotten my lists together, and I got everything sorted, all that’s left is to compile and write everyone something sweet. But that last bit is probably best left to me,” she added, tilting her head - the kids didn’t know Benjy, probably. She gave the man a smile, ignoring his distaste for glitter the way she always did. “I appreciate any time you want to give me, Benjy. How are you, how’s the gang?”

augustiineburke:

Borgin and Burkes usually wasn’t that slow during the weekends; a few troubled witches and wizards here and there, people trying to scam the shop-owners/keepers with fake artifacts, and curious teens that were dared to enter by their friends. Instead of a scary wizard, they were faced with Augustine Burke, who did not seem intimidating, but she certainly knew how to catch any fake artifacts that were presented - her father trained her well. Plus, there were a few charms that tested the authenticity of anything that was brought in. A sigh of relief came from the youngest Burke daughter as she sat back in the chair, relieved that it was a friend rather than a customer that wanted something. “I’m so happy that it’s you. I’ve missed you too - how are you? What’s new?”
.
A moment ago, Ivy had daunted by the prospect of being inside, but, the moment Augustine relaxed, Iverson relaxed with her, leaning onto the countertop with her elbows in an unladylike fashion, as if she was in all the time. “New? I don’t know, nothing much, I guess,” she said, frowning as she considered that for a moment. She hadn’t thought about what she wanted to share with her friend once she’d found her, she’d just ben excited to hunt her down. “I’m good though!” she added quickly, smile brightening as she bounced a little on her toes. “I’m always good, but.. that’s the Ivy way. We just dazzle, darling.”

☘ ↛ Josh reached out, taking a few different types of candy. “Are we tying them together? Or are there like.. um pouches?” he questioned, looking over the table at what all she had. His head jerked up when she asked if they met before. The boy looked her over. She did seem familiar but he wasn’t sure. “Umm, I don’t know. Maybe? I don’t really get out much though. I’m usually with my brother, Benjy.” he stated, smiling to himself as he looked back down at the candy.
.
Her eyes widened as they lit up, and the woman pressed her fingertips to her temples, laughing as she shook her head. She felt like she was processing so much, but she was forgetting things just as quickly as they happened. “Yes! We have these....” and she paused, as she leaned over to fish them out from beneath the stack of candy “adorable little bags, and we’re just gonna fill them with a little of everything.” She pushed them towards the center of the table, in easy reach for both of them, and this time, as she regarded the other, the familiarity made sense. “If Benjy is your brother, does that make you ...” carry the two .. “Joshua? I’m Ivy - Ivy Fawley, I’m sorry I should’ve led with that.”

lily knew from experience , and she knew it well , having been one of the many children at hogwarts to find a home within the walls , one she felt more herself in than she did with her blood family , she knew what it felt to watch children get their parents letters when she didn’t , after all , it took her parents months to learn the way of the owl post . “ care packages ⸻ they would of been brilliant in my first year . ” the now graduated gryffindor admits , smiling brightly at the other . “ what do you need me to do ? ”
.
Ivy didn’t say so, but Lily herself was one of the reasons Ivy knew that what she was doing was going to be a pretty welcome surprise across the board – give or take a few who still thought she looked on them as charity cases and refused to believe she was actually just that nice. “I thought you’d like this one,” she admitted, though, giving the redhead a bright grin in return. “we are stuffing goodie bags, a little of everything.” She wiggled her eyebrows, excitement growing by the second. The best part about kids was they still had good hearts, and good hearts meant sharers – it was a good thing Iverson had little to no impulse control. “We are not being stingy with the sweets, not today.”

arctuurusregulus:

“No, I’ve actually been hoping to run into you.” Regulus wasn’t sure exactly how to go about his conversation, but he figured he might as well give it a shot now so that he didn’t have to make an even more awkward visit to some office building later. “You’re Ms. Fawley, right? I’m Regulus Black, trainee healer at St. Mugos’ Accident and Emergency Ward.”
.
Ivy blinked, but to her credit, didn’t laugh as the Black insisted on being so formal. “Regulus, I have like .. what, three? years on you, and you smoked my seeker several times. I believe you’ve earned the right to call me Ivy, or Iverson if you must.” She pushed her project to the side, showing him that he had her attention, and folded her fingers together. “Either way, you’ve found me. What can I do for you?”

augustiineburke:
semi - title : miserable at borgin & burkes. where : borgin & burkes, saturday afternoon. open.
Life was dry and boring during the weekends for Augustine. Every Saturday and Sunday, Augustine could be found at Borgin and Burkes, helping customers and looking over dangerous or cursed artifacts. Truthfully, it was a little boring for her and she longed to be training in the Greenhouse at Tauxmarts - it was relaxing for her, and she could forget about her father’s shop there. As she flipped through the latest edition of Witch Weekly, Augustine failed to hear the bell to indicate a new customer in the shop, until the person was right in front of her desk. She closed the magazine, tossed it to the side, and gave her attention to the new customer, forcing a fake smile. “Merlin, sorry - I didn’t notice the bell. Hi, welcome to Borgin and Burkes, how may I help you?”
.
Iverson ... didn’t go to Borgin and Burkes if she could help it. Not only did virtually no part of the girl suit the aesthetic of the ideal customer – it was scary in there. Granted, it was also kind of cool in a badass way, but on the whole, Ivy tried to steer clear. Still, sometimes, things simply had to be done; if she wanted to see Augustine on the weekends, she knew where she had to be, but Augustine not paying any attention at all made her feel much better. The disconnect between the blonde and the store she was in served relief to the brunette in strides, and she giggled, waving her hand at Augustine to dismiss her apology. “Don’t be, doll, don’t be. I was just popping in to say hi. I’ve missed you.”

“but it’s still your type of food.” doris says in a matter of factly tone, maybe if it was flavored with something else that i can eat then i would consider it, but i don’t think that is your style.” she says teasingly with a grin. everyone that was close to doris knew what type of “diet” she meant but those that didn’t, she just said that she was a vegan, (and the worst kind, one that won’t shut up about it). it seemed to match her well even though all of it was a lie. when ivy sat on her own lap a grin formed on her lips as she looked up at ivy, wrapping one of her arms around the woman’s waist. “well, you’ve found me now.” she says humming softly as she curls into her side, she always liked the warmth of ivy’s skin, something that she has noticed a lot more these days after being turned, but that was also something she has noticed when she was human. “you’re right that is a stupid question, so you are coming over.” she says in a matter of factly tone as she watches all the other people walk by.
.
“No, but it could be,” she said simply, easily; truthfully, the way Ivy laid the comment out was almost as if she wished it simply be left to lie. The things that popped out of Ivy’s mouth surprised even her, sometimes, and like this time, she tried not to let it show, bringing her cup to her lips for a drink and to prevent herself saying something dumber. That was made easier given the attention she was once again receiving from Doris, and though she still felt the tingle on her cheeks that said she had been blushing since she’d opened her mouth, she ignored it in favor of the affection. Lifting the hand she’d wound around the vampire’s shoulders, Ivy’s fingers played with the strands of the other woman’s hair. “Yep. And right where I want you, all to myself.” This time, Ivy wasn’t shy about it, pushing strands behind Doris’ ear for an excuse to brush her fingers across her cheek and leave a kiss there. “I am coming over, yes. And I had my nap, and by the time we get there, I’m sure he’ll have gotten your dinner squared away, too.” Ivy had already eaten, but it wasn’t like Augustus would let her starve if that changed.
