They're fungus, they have no gender, and if they have genders, it's definitely much more complicated than the ones we have.

Transhumans Super Soldiers. The prefix "trans" is not there for no reason. You take a boy, pump him full of hormones and perform over a dozen surgeries on him, you definitely get a trans person. They're no longer men after that. They're something else.

i think it's funny when people say "yeah the writers use they/them for this character but that doesn't necessarily mean the character is nonbinary" because i guess it's true but by that logic i can say "yeah this character is referred to with he/him but they never say he's a man so i can do whatever i want" which i may actually start doing because it sounds based as fuck. if you want me to believe that action hero is a man maybe you should've been more direct about it smh.

One thing I forgot to praise in Craig of the Creek, is not only the variety in kids, but also the variety in Parenthood.

We have the Williams:

And then moving just a step, the Mercers

And the Pokoly

Widow father, 1 child.

And I specially love how in no point the show implies any need to "improve" them.

There is no expectation or demand for her to leave, or for Paula to remarry.

Same with the Pokoly, even when Kelsey expressed the desire for a sibling, she didn't much care for having a step mother.

And it's so nice to see it showing that their families are *reduced*, but not _incomplete_

It's so fucked how Gustave is the tool the game uses to make us empathize with Aline rather than Verso.

When Gustave died. I didn't buy it at all. 70% of his skills still locked, not a single weapon above level 10. He even shared Verso's arsenal. There was no way he wouldn't come back in act 3.

Then act 3 came, and Maelle brought Sciel and Lune back. And I thought, well maybe wev have to go to his grave. But he wasn't there. Maybe then the place where he actually died. But still, he wasn't there.

And then I searched everywhere, every corner of the continent instead of moving the story ahead. Stuck forever in that moment.

When I finally decided to move on to finish the game, still my final hope was that he would be there. I did everything the game told me to do and more. I deserve him back.

The ending left me distraught, angry, frustrated. Unable to come to terms with the fact that there were skills that he would never get to learn. Clothes made for him that he would never get to wear. A future erased.

Alright, I'm ready to process this game.

It's definitely interesting how the endings both leave you with a feeling of... emptyness, sadness. Either way it's a waste of life, just like the Dessendre family felt about their loss.

It's sad that we lose everyone we got to know, in the Verso ending. But at least then, we can process that grief, move on, paint new things. Build new experiences. What these people meant to us wasn't nothing, and it isn't gone.

What Verso meant to the Dessendres, what Gustave meant to us. We honor their memory, by remembering who they are, and the legacy their left behind. I'm sure Gustave will still inspire Alicia outside of the painting, just like Verso did.

I do feel worse in the Maelle ending. It's too forced, too fake. Much as we missed Gustave, he was only the person he was because of his experiences and memories within the painting. To paint a perfect world where none of the grief and hurt happened, would be to paint away the person he was. And the way she forced a tired Verso to live also hurt. He was begging her to be let go.

And in the same vein, the Maelle we knew in the game was no longer Maelle. Maelle, the character, was also a product of her life, memories and experiences, and as Alicia remembered her true memories, she became a different person. In the painting ending, Maelle is just another shadow of herself, puppeteered by Alicia into a perfect world.

But... at the same time, how can I be mad at Alicia? All she wanted was her parents to let her make her own choices - which goes tenfold now that she is disabled.

When I finished the game, I was angry at the endings. I wanted a perfect ending where I didn't have to lose anyone, I wanted a middle ground where everyone could move on, and we could get our loved ones back, as well as freedom of choice. But isn't that what the Dessendre family also wanted? All the game did was to get us to feel like them - as was the whole message.

As much as I'm crying into my soup right now, I wouldn't trade the experience of this game for anything. I'm thankful for how much it made me feel.

Superman shouldn't be floating ominously above the people reaching out and begging for his help like an indifferent god. Superman should be personable, reassuring, someone who makes you feel safe, someone who does good because he genuinely cares, will rush in to help without a second thought, and still take the time to make sure you're okay before getting back to fighting a kaiju.
