No sooner than our heroes left they were met by Orcs then mindflayers one of which was their used to travel with what is now this group.
A lot of fun stuff happened our dwarf picked a bar fight with the orc shop owner. Our team noticed the capt acting as weird as always and when they asked the shop keep orc the next day about Egon the Paladin he said he was in the bar talking to some ugly guy. They instantaneously knew it must be their Githyanki friend and that the capt was Egon. They left they city and convinced the capt to break for lunch separating him from the Gith they killed the capt and found out the Gith had been told by him not to attack and had no idea who the capt really was. The crew knew while the capt was dead they were still being hunted by the Githyanki and mindflayers and that they were still possibly going to have to answer for the graves if not to the people who sent the Paladin group there to the demon Egon served.

Orhanto recruits one of the pixies to come along. They leave the room and head down the other side coming to a door that pushes open. On the wall in draconic is clues regarding the graves in the room belonging to the some “heroes” under the pile of tombs! tones they see a large chest. They decide the best and safest way to avoid danger is to solve the clues and put the tombstones where they belong. Akirrah and The Duke solve the puzzle while Ront and Orhanto talk to their new pixie friend. With the puzzle solved they open the chest. They take the weapons and choose not to explore instead running back to the throne room where the pixies fly about. Ront and Orhanto move the throne seeing the secret door below. Akirrah pulls the chain and they venture down. They hear voices and The Duke screams hello. Two gnolls walk in they attack but are crushed by magic used by Akirrah and The Duke and massively placed weapon shots from Orhanto and Ront. They find their way out and camp for the night. Ront manages to kill a bear for them to eat. They walk on seeing something scurry past. They decide to avoid it but two brain like creatures with legs that they find to be the strangest things drop from the trees landing on Orhanto and Ront. They manage to pull free but not before the other two jump into action. Once more magic from Akirrah and The Duke and hard blows from new weapons by Orhanto and Ront crush the attackers. They were not out of danger yet there was still a ways to go before the next small town.

The group went back to the cave with a new friend a triton prince. They figured out how to trap the mindflayers and beat them. Later upon returning to the camp they were informed their aasimar friend was no more. They set out to loot the cave but there was a spy among them. The prince. They slayed them but their former friend had escaped. They have only the Githyanki they rescued, but can he help them? And why doesn't the captain attack more. See you guys tomorrow night. Looking forward to it.
The group had left the mindflayers cave the minotaur Ront announced he would leave the group to reflect on failing in his mission as he left a dwarf approached them. He told them he was looking for some travelers who had killed a group of heroes, they knew this was the crime that had been pinned on them, but told him they would help find this party. With their new friend they rested outside of the mindflayers cave. During the rest a Githyanki soldier appeared, they had discovered the trident of Poseidon the group had given them was a fake. The soldier warned them they were running out of time that his leader wanted the trident. They attacked him and took his head with them to the nearby city of Faanora otherwise called the wooden city, due to all of its buildings including the castle itself being made of wood. Some immediately ran to the bar The Tripping Goat while The Duke took the Githyanki head to be delivered and did some shopping. In the bar they met an elf he hears their tale and is asked to join them. The Duke and Ront's pixie decide to cause problems in the bar and pour a potion in the beer barrel. This results in all the patrons who drank becoming incapable of rational talk. The dwarf leaves the bar he insults elves in the street and is approached by a guard who knows who is is and what his mission is. He says they want to hire his group and to meet them in the castle at dusk. In the bar the pixie had found a new friend in the elf. They are told some of what happened by the dwarf the druid had seen all of the exchange while in spider form. They head to the castle where they are let in. They head to the throne room where they are greeted by the king. He tells them that the four heroes murdered is in fact three and that the fourth one had killed his friends, they are careful not to say they were the ones accused. The king tasks them with finding this oath breaker Paladin and killing him they are offered 800 gold a piece and 8 days of rations, and told a carriage awaits them outside. They proceed to head out.

The group decided to head back into the city, where they would try to charter a ship. They found a captain who would take them in return for them helping on the ship. A Githyanki appeared demanding the trident, they told him the cambion count in the city they had just left had it. He left to retrieve it. Using all they could they fought off a sea monster. They reached land and stepped onto a beach. Up in the palm trees were bullywugs firing down arrows at them. Thinking quick the group prepared for battle as several ran out to attack them. They fought hard some on ground and the goblin in the trees. The battle ended with one being slingshot out of the tree high into the clouds falling to its death. Now they must continue on, but what lays beyond the trees what is this treasure the captain of their new ship wants so bad?

Our heroes having left the cave and done with battle moved on soon came across a phase spider. They quickly jumped into action. Orhanto used vines to entangle the eight legged freak after it had tried to attack. They pounded on it it with a barrage of spells and hits from their weapons. It got free of the binding but was no match. It fell to their attacks. They made their way to the city of Redmist ruled by a cambion named count Leingel. Ront made his way to the bar to drink, while The Duke and Akirrah shopped. Orhanto went to the temple to worship his god. He found they did not allow worship. He made his way to the castle he questioned the count and was thrown into jail. Shortly thereafter The Duke who was playing with Orhanto's pixie pulled a stunt that resulted in burning of city property. He was thrown in jail disguised as an imp. Akirrah was nearby and had a feeling she should check it out. She visited them in the cell and then spoke to the count. He agreed to let them go if nothing else was done. She however opted to tell them if they were not gone they would be killed in the morning. They went to the tavern The Prancing Satyr to retrieve Ront. As they left the bar the townsfolk were talking about four heroes who were killed in a nearby cave and wondering who would do such a thing. The Duke ran off they left him in the city shortly thereafter he found them camping outside of the city. Alone in the woods they begin to talk about what to do next.

D&D Winter Final Part 2
The stench of death permeating the air, Ragnar struggled to break free but the Glabrezu whipped and tossed his body out over the tower where the plate mail would surly aid in his fall…
Just as Ragnar started his decent, Domric called upon his quivers magical charges. Ragnar’s decent turned to that of a feather, and he made it softly to the ground below. Sebastian was quick on his feet and charged right in stabbing at the rear leg of the Glabrezu, it roared out in pain and turned to face him. His right pincer reaching out and closing around him crushing bones as it lifted Sebastian off the ground. He couldn’t get free! The left pincer closed in slashing at Torinn and closing around him but Torinn sidestepped and dodged the grip. Vik launched a radiant bolt that streaked across the towers top but did not make its intended target. He then called forth a radiant weapon to fight alongside him through the battle. Domric launched a barrage of bolts from his repeating crossbow graciously bestowed from one of the soldiers at Thad’s Landing. Bolt after bolt launched into the skin of the Glabrezu but in the end it seemed as though it barley affected him. Torinn called upon his magical powers focusing three missiles on the arm holding Sebastian and as they blasted into the skin Sebastian dropped free. Phfett too launched some magic missiles each striking true and pummeling the demon. Drax moved up taking two swings with his longsword and rapier slashing at its skin, he then commanded Domric to strike at a weak point giving Domric the chance to use his magical bow to put a well-placed arrow deep into the creatures side. Sebastian back on his feet tried to climb the back of the Glabrezu to find a weak point he could stick his dagger, the demon thrashed and he could not make it. It turned and crushed Sebastian to the floor blood pouring from the wounds. He then turned and hit Torinn who again took a heavy blast from the demon. The Glabrezu turned on Vik and called upon its innate spellcasting stunning Vik with powerful magic, he body froze in place. Domric launched two more arrows in a hail of thorns that again ripped apart the flesh of the Glabrezu and it bellowed in pain. Torinn cracked down with his bowstaff, kicked and punched in a fury but the Glabrezu seemed to shrug off the blows. Phfett pulled a vial of holy water and threw it at the demon but it only shattered at its feet as Phfett stumbled with the toss. Vik was able to break the stun and regain control of his body. Drax hacked down with his blades once more cutting deep into the leathery flesh, only two of his three attacks found their marks. The Glabrezu turned on Domric, he was furious with the stinging arrows being launched from his way. The demon grabbed hold of Domric again crushing bones as it lifted him from the ground, and with his humanlike arm brought its giant fists down on his head. Domrics body fell limp to the stone. He was not finished though, turning towards Phfett the demon pierced easily into her flesh and she fell to her knees blood pouring from her wounds. Torinn called upon his magic once more attempting to hit the creature with a ghastly cold touch, but the demon dodged the attack easily. Vik was able to break the stun and focus on the battle once more.
Drax contemplated crossing the opening and getting Domric a much needed healing potion but just then the demon stepped in his path, he had no choice but to continue fighting. He landed three more strikes that slowed the enemy down. Sebastian still laid unconscious at the demons feet. The Glabrezu turned now to face Drax and Vik, slashing out with mighty blows. Blood was covering their armor and the stone at their feet. The demon pressed on casting again from its demonic strength, Drax was hit with a wave of energy, his brain swelled and his arms fell limp to the sides. He was confused and dazed. He did not know what to do. Vik called upon his healing knowledge and a burst of ocean water sprayed up and over his comrades. Each of them regaining conscious and rejoining the fight. Sebastian drank from a healing potion to regain more of his strength. The Glabrezu thrashed about, stomping and crushing whoever next stepped into sight. Domric again fell to the stone. Torinn pressed the attack again with another fury of blows, all being easily shrugged off by the demons natural resistance. Phfett pulled out a spear and charged forward stabbing at the demons leg and only just cutting at the surface. Vik launched another bolt of energy this one finding its target and blasting it back a step. Drax still stood confused but the blast broke the demons concentration and allowing Drax to shake off the magical confusion.
The battle continued and Sebastian wanted to work with Torinn to get a bounding strike in at his head. Once again it did not work, the Glabrezu fought on and placed a magical darkness over them. Torinn ran back to escape the area and try for a ranged attack. Phfett attempted to hit again with a spear but missed his mark in the darkness. Vik continued the assault with his spiritual weapon and any spell he still held in his arsenal. Roaring in pain, it again turned to face them. Drax had had enough though, a surge pressed through him and he charged forward leaping to the left arm sword tips down. His first blade plunging into the muscle and grabbing hold, Drax using the momentum swung forward ripping the blade out as he launched further up the demons body. His second blade dug into the shoulder and Drax continued to climb his way onto the back of the demon. It bellowed in pain and thrashed but Drax held fast, knees holding him in place behind the neck of the beast. Drax reversed his grips on his longsword and rapier, raised him arms high as they could stretch. Plunging the tips down with all his might the blades pierced the skull crisscrossing and protruding forth from the Glabrezus jaw. The demon started to fall forward. Drax riding the body to the stone, Sebastian and Phfett attempted to sidestep and evade but the demon crashed down on them both pinning them to the stone.
The day had been won, a vicious battle and a superior outcome. After bandaging wounds and stabilizing the fallen, the party managed to find the lever to reopen the stairs. Where Ragnar waited to greet them. No words found their tongues, everyone stood in shock and awe. Leaving the base of the tower they determined their best course was to return to Thad’s Landing to report the fallen and get Ragnar some aid. After scrounging for gear and items the set off towards the trade route. Not more than twenty steps in the sound of plate armor and heavy footsteps echoed in the air approaching from the north.
A contingent of ten men came to a halt about fifty feet from them. The plate armor glowing with hues of blue, shield held precisely at the same heights and close to their bodies were emblazoned with Ascar’s battle standard. Longswords beaming radiant energy from their blades were at the ready. Two in the center stepped to the side allowing another to step forward. Vik, with his clerical knowledge knew that this man was a high priest. The man stepped forward to meet them. A golden great helm covering his well-kept brown hair and youthful face. Blue eyes with the deepness of the great oceans. Even looking into them you could tell he had walked the earth much longer than any that stood there now. Golden plate armor adorned his body with the churches holy symbol etched into the breastplate. A Shillelagh club was strapped comfortably at his side, while he held a staff in his right hand. The staff itself was masterwork, detailed from top to bottom with intricate runes and holy symbols. The same great shield was slung on his back with easy access. Pure white and blue streaks of cloth draped over his shoulders and down to his knees. “Greetings, I am Ascar from the land of Enadai” Ascar said. Ragnar gave a quick bow having met the man before when he asked for aid in his homeland. Ascar continued without hesitation. “We came as soon as we felt the gates construction to the abyss, I would not allow these demons to come into our plane and wreak havoc on my people. But it seems Thad’s Landing is under the right protection. I and the entire realm of Enadai thank you for what you have done this day.”
-----Break-------It has been an awesome 21 sessions and 74 hours together over the past few months. The world started with my original characters from my Dads world in AD&D, which all of you know is where I got all of my inspiration and ideas from. He has been reading every recap I have sent and helped me to prepare the next wave of quests. So I thought it only fitting to end the campaign with his first name level character from 1st edition. You all started out with the same "murder hobo" mentality that I had when I started and by this last session worked as a well functioning team (the cleric even healed! I was confused as crap by that). Thank you all for playing and keeping up with it, I know we have some members moving to new cities and starting their own campaigns. After my wife and I get a handle on our daughter, perhaps we will pick up again this summer.
As always email me with what your character is doing in its down time.
- Michael
That’s it for the time being. I hope you enjoyed. I will either start up loading my own campaign, or will post more stories sometime in the summer.
Hope you all enjoyed.

D&D Winter Final Part 1
The party members laid awake in their separate rooms, birds chirping outside, and the horses neighing in the fields while the farmers plowed the crops. They had all awoke from terrible nightmares, each with separate “visions”. Vik knew he had a mission, that he was tasked by Poseidon himself to quell the storms. He started to pack his gear and walk out of the house, most the other party members had gathered their gear to head out that day and most were going to go to Thad’s Landing. Torinn especially wanted to shed some light on his dreams and inform Thoruk or Thad of his recent travels. A caravan approached, it was from the landing. A small troop of guards and teamsters were moving trade goods down to Uylorn and Esyl Enthaes. The Guards were awestruck to meet the hero’s from the “battle of loyalties” and begged for them to ride along and as they went south. Everyone but Torinn decided to ride to Uylorn but when the guards informed Torinn that Thoruk had not returned in many months he decided to travel with his party instead. They set out and passed by Alebion Mine on their way. Work seemed to be going well at the copper mine with a great deal of progress in a short period of time. They made their way towards Uylorn, the guards talked with each of them asking to recount their tales in the battle and adventures since. Rolling into Uylorn just before dusk the workers began to offload the supplies for the centaurs and load up what was being offered to them. The wagon still had a portion of the load to take south but they would set out in the morning. Everyone went their ways in the camp, Torinn sought out the head druid to ask if she knew anything of demons. Drax ran right over and started drinking with the lumber crew, all welcoming him back. Domric went to sell some gear while Phfett found a place to rest. Vik talked with the guards and found out that there was a scouting party from Thad’s landing that had not returned in weeks, the tower they were scouting was south and east of the road they were traveling. Torinn found Sebastian in the lead tent with the clan master. Sebastian protested that he had been left behind, but Torinn wasn’t having it, Torinn knew Sebastian just had a hard time keeping up with the hero’s. The Night passed and the wagon was once again loaded. The party set out south on the road and the day went well, easy riding and the sun on their faces. Drax kept his distance from everyone walking off to the side as they traveled on. The ground shook and a few member fell to their feet. An earthquake at hit, Vik tried to determine if it was natural or spellbound, but from what he could tell with Torinns help it was just a natural occurrence. They continued on, as they traveled further south clouds began to form overhead and thunder could be heard in the distance. More rumbling and tremors came as they moved along the trail. They came to a point and the wagon stopped, the lead teamster informed them that the tower to be scouted was east of this point towards the ocean. The party thanked them and started off into the coming storm.
They traveled east, the ground continued to shake every so often and the closer they got to shore the darker the clouds over head shaded. The Tree line parted to a great tower standing watch over the ocean. Small stone walls scattered at the base for minor defense to a ground attack. The ocean waves behind crashed in every direction sending mist into the air and making the ground damp to walk on. The party looked on to see if they could see any movement. Domric sent his blood hawk up but could not see anything through the thick fog and clouds. Vik skirted along the outside to the ocean and took a knee at the water’s edge, hoping to get a sign from Poseidon but nothing came. They regrouped and the party moved in towards the base of the tower. Vik turned the corner first to find a Imp starring at him blankly, Vik reacted and wounded the imp, Torinn went out along the outer wall to get around, Domric stepped in an fired an arrow dropping the Imp while. Sebastian started to sneak in from the southern end and found another Imp which he brought down with ease. They turned their focus towards the door and as Sebastian approached, the swoosh of a claw went past his ear. Another imp snuck in but it was no match for the party, it could only mock that its master would soon end them before they ended it. Torinn coming around from the north found bodies of fallen elves and humans but didn’t stop to inspect. When Phfett walked up he noted that the guards were Kaththaes and the scouts were from that’s landing. Vik and Drax came closer and recognized the weapon used to bring them down. They turned to the door, preparing for what they knew was coming. They entered the first floor, slowly moving their way in, as cautiously as they could. Sebastian took point and after they searched the gear on the first floor they he moved to the top of the second set. Sneaking he noticed two more Imps standing guard and he turned back down to inform the party. They all stood arguing for a moment on what to do when another rumble hit. Vik fell flat on his face and his plate armor rang like a bell in the tower. The imps flew down the stairs, one attacking Sebastian and the other coming to the landing both only made it as far as the stairs would take them before fire, arrows and steel brought their miserable lives to an end. Once again the party moved upwards. To the second floor, while searching Sebastian was able to recover a few healing potions that he graciously handed to others who may need them only keep one on himself. They made it to the third landing and two spiral stone stairs curved along the walls to the open air of the top tower. They separated and stayed three members to each flank. Vik leading the left flank with Drax and Domric while Sebastian led Phfett and Torinn up the right flank. Sebastian peeked his head out first but he could not see anything in the shroud of darkness and fog. Vik was the first to step up, he moved forward and as he cleared the top he noticed a man kneeling on the far side looking out over the land. Full plate mail smoldered with wisps of sulfur, a giant winged helm shooting off his shoulders. Vik wasn’t sure at first but when Ragnar greeted him he recognized the voice. Torinn was next to step up but when Ragnar stood and turned everyone froze on the stairs, they knew that this was between Vik and Ragnar at this point. Vik gave the motion to hold back. Just then Vik while inching forward felt the cold slump of a body and the slickness of blood under his boot. He was cautious not to take his eyes off Ragnar too long but just enough to notice the pentagram at his feet, with a body at each point. He looked back up at Ragnar, his eyes emanating a hateful red, the color smoking out and dissipating into the air. Vik could feel the torment inside of him even from across the tower. But still he must try.
Vik shouted over the thundering clouds “It is not too late for you Ragnar! Poseidon is here!” Ragnar replied back “I have fallen, and he has broken me in the Abyss! There is no going back I have forsaken everything!” Vik wasn’t giving up he knew there some semblance of help, so he pressed on. “Even now Poseidon would allow you back to his court, lay down your trident and come to me, we will atone together my brother!” Vik shouted as the thunderous waves crashed along the shoreline. Ragnar wasn’t having it, he didn’t believe a word Vik was saying, his grip tightened on the trident and he stepped closer to Vik. “Do not think you are above me CLERIC! I have walked this earth longer than you in his light! When I fell there was no turning back, he has taken me and I will live in purgatory! Vik! Cleric of Poseidon! Is your god even here with you now?!” Ragnar started to move in. Vik stood fast, plate armor glistening in the mist, shield firmly held close at his side, his right hand tightening its knuckles around his mace of terror. Vik pleaded to Poseidon, “I know he is not lost, please, let the seas guide him once more.” Vik felt in that moment an instant and divine connection to the astral plane. Never before has his purpose been so clear. The thunder cleared and the clouds parted. Bright beams of sun bore down on the plate armor gleaming into the eyes of Ragnar slowing his rush. Vik shouted “Poseidon IS HERE! And he will not leave me just as he will not leave you!” Ragnar stopped in his tracks, the red in his eyes faded instantly, glistening over with tears. He reached up and pulled his great helm off, it fell to the stone, his grasp released the trident and it reverberated as it clashed at his feet. Tears began to fall from his face as he stretched out his arms and said “Save me! He is coming!”…
Just then the pentagram began to glow a purple hue, the bodies began to turn to ashes. The stone opened to a molten lava and sulfur wasteland. The party took action and charged into the tower. Sebastian being the last to come in barley made it to the landing when a trap released and sealed the stone stairs behind them. Two giant pincers grabbed hold of the tower and pulled itself up, two more arms grabbed hold and continued to pull its body through. The beast like head had horns jetting back along its skull and teeth as black as obsidian. The Glabrezu towered over them turning to Ragnar first and in the ancient abyssal tong shouted “Your failure will not be tolerated by our master! You will rot in the Abyss!” The glabrezu used it pincer to grab Ragnar, crushing bones as he lifted him of the ground and closer to his face. The stench of death permeating the air, Ragnar struggled to break free but the Glabrezu whipped and tossed his body out over the tower where the plate mail would surly aid in his fall…
--------Break----------More to come obviously! I just wanted to send what I had so far. I am not so good with the dialogue portion but I tried my best to capture Vik's critical roll of a 20 when he asked for aid from his god. I have a lot more to say haha but I will wait until I finish the recap from our final session. one thing we talked about after in the lot was the fact that there was maybe only 3 total critical rolls last night. and that once just so happened to completely change the dynamic of what I intended. You all did well! I am excited to finish this recap.

D&D Session 18
Vik found his time around the estate easy going, settled in and arranged his room. Continued to pray each day and seek out guidance. This particular morning he decided it was time to head to Thad’s Landing. It had been almost four months since they had been back to the landing, they had not returned since the battle of loyalties. He packed up some gear and got on the road. His travels went smooth and Vik had confidence that he would not encounter anything he couldn’t handle. On his second day of travel he started to approach the bustle of the town. Things had changed though, trees cleared to a giant stone wall with towers lined along. A large gate house stood open with guards keeping watch and checking people as they entered. Teams of diggers worked around the fronts of the walls on what looked to be the makings of a moat. Vik made his way in the town completely different, he walked into a market and lower living quarter first, a flower shop sent fresh scents into the air and the crowds of people had grown. Vik wasn’t sure how he felt and continued past to a second wall and gate house that lead to a guild hall quarter and military quarter that surrounded a third wall that looked to be the beginnings of a castle and tower. He wrapped around and entered the old town. Royal housing had been built in the remaining areas of old town but all the old shops remained. Vik Did some shopping and decided to talk to the Scribe to find out if there had been any local mines found in the surveying of the land. The scribe pointed out a Copper mine close to the estate that Vik decided to hone in on. He then headed out in search of the mine.
Torrinn and Phfett made their way back to Morran Belanor to meet up with Narder. Travel was easy for them and once back Narder had the horses they requested. They traveled with the caravan the rest of the way back to the estate. While traveling Torinn spent some time in the teachings of Phfett. She showed him how to harness his new power and control it into a magical force. Torinn watched and soaked it in, but as the days went on in their travel Torinn couldn’t help but wonder how someone so young could have such an understanding of these magical powers. He brushed it off as just something the High Elven race was graced with. The amount of guards for the caravan didn’t attract any unwanted visitors. Once back Phfett, Torinn and Drax paid the rest of the 5,000 Gold for the horses and took them to the farm. Drax worked on the stable and making sure everything was in order to keep them well kept. Drax and Domric decided to make a run to Thad’s Landing to get necessary equipment and feed for the horses to get them started. Phfett went about her business working between the stables and the house to keep everything in order.
Vik and Duganas decided to head out in search of the copper veins. Torinn ran out at the last minute and asked to tag along, Vik a little reluctant at first allowed him to join the search. The first day out into the hills Vik left the cart at the trail and headed south into the hills. It wasn’t more than a few hours past and his keen eyes spotted the minerals seeping up from a rocky outlet. Duganas was impressed with his keen eyesight, it would have taken most miners weeks to locate the mine. Vik placed the marker on his map and decided to head back so they could make preparations for “Alebion Mine” to open and start business. They began their trek back to the cart and on their final approach Duganas noticed that there were some bandits hiding close by the cart across the path. He informed the others and drew his bow. Vik and Torinn moved to flank and tried to sneak but Torinn tripped over a small rock that sent alarm to the waiting ambush. They rushed into the first two bandits and brought them down with ease. Duganas shot an arrow that dropped a bandit close by the cart. Vik called out for Duganas to fire and give them cover taking a couple steps to start the sprint across the open path when a giant boulder came crashing in. It deflected off a boulder next to him and rolled into Torinn, Torinn was crushed and in pain. He regained his footing and prepared to sprint. Vik changed the plan, calling on Poseidon to lay a thick fog and mist over the Hill giant that heaved boulders at him. Once the fog was up the two charged across. Boulders flew out and glanced off nearby rocks. Duganas charged forward to meet the final bandit and locked in combat. Vik made the turn and faced off with the giant just as he launched his last boulder, this one hitting the ground just in front of Torinn and rolling over him. Torinn was badly wounded but didn’t want to leave Vik in the fight on his own. He once again regained himself and pressed on. Vik reached out and grabbed hold of the Hill giant unleashing his blessings of Poseidon on the giant, wounds opened up and skin tore apart as blood gushed fourth. The Giant screamed in agony, grabbed its club and made two swings at Vik landing one blow that nearly knocked him back. He stood his ground though and continued the fight. Torinn ran in cracking the giant with his bow staff and kicking him twice from behind. At the same time Vik attempted to hold the creature in place with what magic he could. It gave Torinn the opportunity to send another flurry of blows into the back of the giant. Vik slammed the giant again wounding it even more and when the hold released the giant screamed out. He made two swings with his club one glancing off of Viks armor and the other coming back around and landing on the head of Torinn. Just then Torinn called upon his innate abilities and set fire to the giant. Both fell to the ground in a bloody mess. Duganas turned the corner and ran to Torinn to bandage the wounds and bring healing upon such crushing blows.
The party regrouped and set off back to the estate. Torinn laid in the cart as they traveled nursing his wounds while Vic and Duganas lead the way. They made it back safely and regained their strength that night. The next morning they set out for Thad’s Landing. The day passed uneventfully and on the first watch Vik noticed a wandering mob of zombies and skeletons. He screamed out and charged in. Crushing the first one with his mace and knocking its arm off. The zombies began to swarm, Duganas jumped up and fired an arrow dropping a skeleton. Torinn pointed out and a ghastly cold hand shot out grabbing hold of a zombie and chilling it to the bone, he started to charge in. Vik held out his holy symbol and banished the evil creatures, three crumpled into a piles of bones and flesh while the others stayed and fought. One struck out at Vik and he sent out a thunderous boom in response blasting a zombie 10 feet back as his body parts flew in different directions. Torinn sent out some magical missiles blasting two others and wounding them, the two closed in on him and clawed at his skin. Duganas launched another arrow piecing into the flesh and dropping another. Torinn charged in and set out a furry of blows kicking and cracking their skulls with his bow staff. Vik continued to bring down his enemies dropping another at his feet. Vik unimpressed and unafraid lowered his mace to the ground and with the strength of Poseidon he backhanded the final zombie with his plate gauntlets. The Jaw of the zombie detaching and launched through the air as the rest of its body stood for a brief moment, Vik raised his mace and slightly pushed into the chest of the zombie toppling it to the ground. Vik walked back to the fire and layed down grumbling to Torinn “It’s your shift now” Finally Torinn managed to swipe the feet out from one of the zombies and roundhouse kick the other dropping both.
The rest of the travel was uneventful and the team made it to Thad’s Landing. They went about the shops buying and selling what they could. Vik went to the miner’s guild and made the arrangements to bring on a few miners and split the costs of operation. Vik arranged for the miners to meet him at the estate and prepare to start work. He finalized his business deals and waited for Torinn. Torinn was wondering the new streets when he felt someone reaching into his pockets. He turned to find a young boy, Torinn confronted him and offered to buy him food. The boy accepted and Torinn took him to Talons Tavern for the best stew he could get. The boy warmed up to Torinn and the two began to talk. After a few hours Vik came in and was ready to leave. Torinn asked the boy if he would like to learn the path of a monk and offered to train the boy. Accepting of the offer they set out back to the Estate.
-----------Break--------------Fun little session that has led to some serious time spent on mapping out a copper mine hahaha. I am hoping we have a full team next week for the 31st, it will be a pretty important session for at least two of the characters backstories.

D&D Session 17
The days continued to pass, most everyone organized and worked on their rooms but Phfett was beginning to feel like a fish in a bowl. She decided to head south and see if she could find any horses for the farm. Duganas was willing to travel with her and help to protect her on the road. Travel went smoothly on their way down to Esyl Entheas. Once there Duganas stayed outside in the forest and let Phfett in on her own, he did not want to walk openly in the town if he didn’t have to. Phfett made her way to the “Nice Knife inn” and talked to her friend Ilim. Ilim had all the information Phfett needed on the horses in the region and where to find them, he also brought to her attention the fact that the town had started to get uncomfortable with a tiefling that had been staring at a wall for the majority of the time he was there. Torinn had been reflecting and meditating at the entrance to the monastery. Once Phfett found this out she went to greet him and see what he had been up too. He was indeed meditating at the entrance and the encounter was tense at first. When they had last separated Torinn did not agree with some of the decisions being made in the party and decided to take some time to reflect on his path. After some time Torinn decided to journey with Phfett to the local cities to see about purchasing some horses. They stayed the night with Beau who put them up in his estate for the night and they had dinner recounting the “Battle of Loyalties” and the victory they had won.
The next morning Phfett, Torinn and Duganas set out E’el Thalas, along the way while scouting ahead Duganas spotted a mercenary waiting on the road ahead. When he came back to inform the group they decided to cut off the path and move around the mercenary for fear it was someone looking to collect the bounty. After that they made it easily to E’el Thalas with no other issues, once arriving Phfett suggested going to the tavern for more information since she seems to have the best luck there. They maneuvered through town and dodged as many people as they could keeping their cloaks low and tight around their faces. They entered the “Mayhem Clam Inn” and was greeted by Fleppiss the Gnome barkeep. She got them some drinks and food while they asked her some questions about the town and where they could purchase horses. She pointed them to Malmer Dawynn who happened to be at the tavern with his friends at the time. Malmer was the Hunter’s Guildmaster. He relayed some information and a warning that some people in town would easily recognize them and want to turn them in for the reward. Worried, the two left town immediately with the information they had and the knowledge they needed to purchase horses there. Once they got back to Duganas they decided to get a captain and sail to the neighboring island to look for more horses to purchase. They secured travel and found themselves sailing into the harbor of “Morran Belanor”. Morran Belanor was a far grander town than any they had previously arrived too. Walls towered around the town with a high presence of Citadel guards. A central spire shot up towering over everything with noble houses surrounding it. They made their way to “The Sapphire Sword” in the merchant’s quarter to get some more information. After a quick conversation with a stout dwarf Olverdg, she told them to head outside and talk to the merchants that they would get more information from Narder Nolle. They introduced themselves to Narder who was a well-dressed human with two well-armed guards always at his side. He was quick to business and Phfett decided to buy two draft horses from him, once Narder was told where to deliver he was confused since he had served with Ragnar in the past. Phfett dodged telling Narder the truth of what happened and continued with business. The group arranged travel further south while Narder went to the Citadel to pick up two Royal horses. They agreed to pay 5000 gold pieces for the delivery of all four horses to the farm. They traveled with the caravan along the road until they reached a fork where they would split and head south while Narder went east.
Travel went easy with not many encounters. On the second day of travel while walking through a rocky outcropping the three were taken by surprise when two green dragon wyrmlings came rushing in. They bit and clawed at Duganas who fought back with his glaive ripping at their scaly flesh. Phfett launched some missiles and divided them between the two wounding both. Torinn used his bowstaff and hit down on the creatures with speed. The first wyrm breathed toxic fumes into the air and all three were caught in the blast. Phfett and Torinn managed to get somewhat clear of the fumes and only inhaled a portion of the gases. Phfett launched another barrage of missiles this time into one target at the same time Torinn came in with a furry of blows landing two solid hits and bringing the creature down. They turned to the second one when Duganas cut deep into the skin with his glaive. Just then the second wyrm breathed out and this time they all grasped for air and took on too much of the toxins. Phfett was on her last bit of life and Torinn was barely able to stand. Torinn was desperate and pulled out a flask of oil throwing it at the wyrm it smashed right into its face and oil splashed down over its body. Phfett taking advantage of the move threw a fire bolt that found its mark not only blasting the wyrm but igniting the oil on its skin. They wyrm flared and burned reeling in pain and ultimately withered and died. Duganas took the time to cure and mend wounds before they moved on. That night the party reached “Camp Valboram” if you could call it a camp. Scorch marks and dead trees all about. Small stone structures scattered about with one giant structure stood out but there seemed to be more commotion coming from a set of stone stairs leading underground.
Phfett and Torinn lead the way with Duganas following behind them. Once at the bottom of the stairs they found the source of the commotion. Dwarven soldiers armored in full plate and spiked shields, axes, swords, hammers and crossbows laid close by their sides. Food and drink was being passed and the whole group was rowdy as ever. Phfett and Torinn could barely even talk to each other when all went silent and a single dwarf got up moving forward from the back. He was moving quickly, black armor smoldering with sulfur into the air, a red dragon cape rolled off his back and his red hair went a full foot into the air as a Mohawk. He carried two battle axes that a goliath would struggle to carry with two hands. His steps quickened and his axes rushed in between Torinn and Phfett then swept wide launching both of them to the walls. Torinns sight began to fade as his head cracked off the stone and Phfett herself tried to get her footing but was brought down as well. They watched as “Harfouc Moltenhammer” wrapped his arms around Duganas in embraces and lifted the High elf off the ground.
The tone quickly changed and drinks were brought in, the three drank with the prince and Duganas talked about how he was rescued by the ragtag band of adventures. Harfouc was accepting and raised a toast to an old friend he thought dead and those that saved him. Torinn could barely handle the fire whiskey but his Tiefling heritage helped to quell the flames. Phfett on the other hand found herself once again unable to stand. They stayed and talked about the present war against the dragon horde, and past times before Amayaine, Duganas’ sister took the throne and started the civil war. After some time Torinn continued to go on with his upbringing of the dragonkin and his love of Dragons. Harfouc grabbed him and took him outside with the others into the largest compound to a house. He pounded on the door and it was answered by two humanoids with beauty beyond that of which any had witnessed before. Long silver hair cascaded down over the shoulders of both the male and female. They wore fine clothing with no gear or weapons. The female walked out and past to the large field inside the compound and began to transform into a silver dragon taking flight and swooping high into the sky for patrol. “Hiream Barak” reached his hand out to Torinn to shake his hand and introduce himself, as their hand grasped Torinn could feel the energy pouring into his body. His fiery demon blood was instantly cooled and the turmoil inside of him calmed. He had never felt such peace or power before in his life. The moment seemed to last a lifetime as his body made a connection with the ancient silver dragon. When he stepped back he could feel the newfound power coursing in his veins, but no one else witnessed the transfer but Phfett. Phfett skilled in the craft of wizards noticed as Torinn was given the gift of Arcana.
———–BREAK———- I was told I didn’t get some of the session events, as my character was not around. So if some things make no chance, I’m hoping to get them to post later.

D&D Session“A Crown for a King”
Shadowbasher lead the team across the open fields leading to the mountain side. The terrain was easy enough to manage at first but as time passed the cliffs turned sheer and dangerous. Carefully making their steps behind the shadowed rogue they managed to steer clear of any danger, there wasn’t much life on this desolate island. After almost of full day of travel they approached a sheer wall and Shadowbasher informed them that they were close. No one could see an entrance so Domric sent his hawk into the air to scout ahead. The Hawk found its way through a path that lead into a giant open valley filled with lava, a single arching bridge stretched across it and on the other side carved into the stone was Vameruhm. The hawk spotted three goblinoid creatures and reported it back to Domric who then informed the party. They decided to move ahead and use their ranged weapons to bring down the creatures. When they stepped into the open they began to fire quickly, Domric launched arrows from his bow, Shadowbasher launched them from a heavy crossbow but couldn’t seem to hit anything. Vik brought down radiant flames to burn the goblins and within a matter of moments they were all dead. Drax took off for the bridge mumbling about loot to be had. Shadowbasher stopped him before he could make it and pointed out that the bridge was trapped. He moved forward and disarmed the trap as best he could and allowed the team to cross the ravine with ease. Once across Shadowbasher tossed a stone back to show them the design of the bridge trap. A heavy cord that was pulled by weights at high speed across the bridge designed to knock anyone standing on it into the lava below. The party turned to stand in front of two giant pillars carved into the cliff side connecting a stone door at the center with intricate statues woven in steel and stone throughout the walls. About 15 feet in front of the door was an odd V shape shooting out and forming a dwarven statue, Vik questioned it but couldn’t grasp its use in front of the door like that. A few moments later when Shadowbasher moved forward to clear the entrance and sneak ahead he found his answer. Shadowbasher screamed but it was quickly snuffed out as the rumbling of a boulder that fit completely in the downward grade of the entrance came tumbling down flattening the dwarf to the stone and continuing right on. Vik tried to dodge and was nimble enough to get out of the front but still was squeezed against the wall as the boulder hit the V and turned direction out towards the ravine. Everyone peered around the front entrance to see the dead dwarf pancaked about half way up the entrance. The team started to argue what to do, Drax wanted to call out and see if anyone would come down. Domric wanted to send his hawk in to investigate. After some time they started to move forward Vik going first and with some skill noticed the blood of the dwarf was filling into the outline of a pressure plate. He pulled out some jewelers tools and marked the edges for his teammates to see. Once they made it past to the top of the grade they heard whispering of some more goblins. Drax and Domric turned left and rushed in, Vik cast a fog cloud to obstruct the view of the others but the defensive machines still fired. Two spinning disks with spikes shot out of the dwarven throwers and cut into Drax and Domric. The second launch cutting into a friendly goblin that had moved forward in the fog. The team was able to dispatch the goblins quick and move forward to clear the main gate house.
Domric moved forward making sure the path ahead was clear when he reached the bottom of a set of stairs that opened into a large chamber filled with historic dwarven battles carved into the stone all around the walls. Pillars ran down both sides and on the beautifully marbled floor lay hundreds of bodies, human, dwarf, goblin, halflings, some decaying and some fresh. Everyone tensed up, Drax took to the outside and after two steps a beam of frost shot from the first pillar into his chest slowing his movement but his dragon skin absorbed most of the damage. The party knew that the room was trapped and began looking for paths. After some time they were able to discern what they thought was a good route and started out. Vik led the way, and once he got half way across the room he lost track of the path. Thinking he knew the pattern he stepped out, immediately a flash came out of a third pillar and a bolt of lightning shot across the room blasting Vik in the chest and brining him to his knees. He waved for Domric to take the lead instead. Domric moved forward and was able to find his way to the other side getting the team to safety.
They stood at the entrance to the throne room and could see the light seeping through, voices from goblins approached as they began to investigate the noises. A goblin stepped into Drax who grabbed the goblin and openly walked into the chamber……..Drax was quickly surrounded, the chamber opened into a circular throne room with multiple passages leading out. Six goblins moved and grabbed hold of him and three hobgoblins sat at the throne in the center of the room. The leader told them to come closer and they brought Drax to his feet. The Captain grabbed up his greatsword and moved towards Drax threatening him “you dare to walk into our domain?” Domric quickly offered gems and treasure to the leader but the group only laughed. “We sit in the throne room of the once great city of Vameruhm, we have all the treasure we need, what we don’t have….is slaves!” Pfett started to whisper behind Vik and Domric, something along the lines of “you also do not have a crown!” The captain was about to swing down on Drax when a crown of thorns started to dig into his skull, his eyes began to glow orange with rage. The captain swung, the swift cut going down through the skin and bone with ease and when the clang of steel hit the stone floor everyone looked on in terror as the captain cut the goblin in front of him in half. The captain then turned his sword upward and cleaved through the hobgoblin standing next to him. Everyone sprang into action, Drax tossed the closest goblin into the crowd and Domric launched arrows. Vik started to attack two of the goblins near him but was brought down after a few successful hits. The party was backing away as best they could to get out of the path and to bandage Vik. The captain continued to cut down his comrades with ease, they stood no chance and soon fell beside the rest. Pfett continued to chant in the back of the room and the party cleared a path after stabilizing Vik. All of a sudden the captain took off running into the room they had just entered from, moments later a blast of fire erupted and singed the hairs on Pfett. Domric looked into the room to see the body of the captain laying burnt on the floor, he knocked an arrow and launched it into the body of the fallen captain. Vik started a prayer of healing while everyone else stood guard in the chamber and researched what they could. When Drax informed them that one of the tunnels led to a vault, the party stepped off without question.
Drax lead the way into the first tunnel and as he entered bodies of goblins lay strewn across the floors, up above sat another dwarven thrower aimed down in their direction. They knew they were once again walking into traps, still they pressed on. Drax arrived at the first vault door and tried a key he had found on the captain, the door didn’t open. Drax then rummaged through his packs to pull out a chime he had found in a dungeon long ago. The chime rang out and the lock could be heard clicking open. Drax stepped forwad and opened the door, a spinning disk pummeled into drax cutting into his heavy armor and tearing at his skin. Still he pressed on. The second chamber was filled with more bodies and throwers. Drax proceeded forward to open the next door, the chime rang out but this time when the door swung open Drax fell to the ground to dodge….nothing happened. He got up and moved forward into the next corridor that split into a diamond. Drax took to the right wall and started around. Once he turned the corner needles could be heard launching from arrow slits and embedding into Drax back. Still he pressed on stepping onto another pressure plate that launched even more darts into his back. Drax began to slow as he approached the last door and Vik came up to offer some healing to stem the pain. Still they encouraged him to press on, a treasure vault was too great for them to turn from. The chime rang out and Drax stepped into the next chamber. This one though he decided to take the body of a dead goblin and start throwing it ahead of him to set off any traps. The party stayed back a full room behind him for fear they would get struck by whatever awaited. Drax tossed the body a few times with no effect and on his final throw towards the vault door the sound of grinding stone rang out. A wall came crashing down between Drax and his party. Gas began to fill the room he stood in with no escape. He ran first to the vault door to try and open it but when he noticed there was no door or key hole and only runes he knew he was stuck. The fumes were filling his lungs. He found levers on the wall and tried to pull them but nothing happened when he did. Drax fell to his knees gasping for air and finally all went dark.
On the other side of the wall Vik, Domric and Pfett knew that Drax was in trouble. Vik placed his ring against the wall and a rams head formed slamming into the wall cracks started to form. Domric started smashing into the wall with the great sword he had pulled from the captain. Vik continued to expend charges from his ring and each time the cracks shot further out. Finally his ring was out of charges….the wall still blocked their passage. Vik told everyone to step back and he began to cast shatter on the wall. One final blow cracked the wall and it turned to rubble around their feet. Their relief was quickly taken from them when poisonous gas began to fill the room and their lungs. They didn’t care they pressed on and retrieved Drax from the chamber and retreated back closing the secondary door behind them to stop the gas. Vik spared Drax from death and brought him back into the fight. After they had recuperated they pressed on. Determined to continue to the vault. They opened the door and rushed in, counting to three the four of them pulled the levers and vents opened to clear the gas from the room. The team stood before a final door, a magical ward visible on its surface. No key hole, no vault handle and no way in. The party stood staring at the door, pondering a way to satisfy their greed…

D&D 15 1/2
Time passed through the week and everything at the landing started to turn to normalcy, Work continued on defenses and construction rang out in the marketplace. Drax continued to work with the loggers bringing in wood to trade with the centaurs. He was becoming very skilled and proved to be a valuable asset when it came to finding the best regions to log. Vik continued to work with the miner’s guild and even informed them of the copper field he found to the south in the river, teams were sent out and miners began to sift through the waters pulling what minerals they could. Domric spent some time with the weapon smith and some of the crossbowman from the battle to find some better techniques and possibly build a better quiver for his bow. When he wasn’t working on his equipment he was hunting the lands and researching what he could on the regions to the south. Pfett was back and forth between the armor smiths and the church, and more often than not was praying and seeking guidance in her life. Torinn escorted Beau back to Esyle Entheas and a small group of undercover guards that were to investigate the town a little more and report back to solidify evidence of corruption in the city. All the while the team waited for a charter out of port to take them on their journey.
Late one evening at Talon’s Tavern Drax, Vik, and Domric sat having some drinks while Phfett sat near the fire mantle in the corner keeping to herself. A lone dwarf appeared at their table, though the group had no idea where he had come from, they did not notice his entrance. He pulled up a chair and sat down, waved at the barmaid to get him a drink and continued to stay silent. Vik and Drax looked at each other displeased at first, Vik even started to grumble in protest “who invited you to the table” but he was cut short when the dwarf shifted in his seat and doing so his cloak gave way to a fine set of leather armor black as night and the symbol of a red wolf head painted roughly down the center chest piece. Vik knew then that the dwarf was a mercenary and the reason he came to the table was because the group sought information on the whereabouts of the mercenary group as well as Thoruk and Oliver. The dwarf took a swig of ale and relaxed back in his seat, and introduced himself “I am Shadowbasher Opalbrand, and I hear you are seeking out my leaders”. Drax replied and relayed that they had recently been commissioned to seek them out and find out what they were doing. Shadowbasher replied “there is a ship leaving port in the morning, I have arranged that the galleon pass by the volcanic island before returning to the land of Enadai and the castle Ascar. Once on the island I will lead you into the fortress Vameruhm, and the once prosperous home of clan Moltenhammer. We can search for Thoruk and Oliver together.” Vik responded immediately questioning the fact that Shadowbasher didn’t know exactly where they were. “They entered the fortress in the cover of night weeks ago, I was left to keep watch on the shore but when no one returned I decided to get help. I couldn’t enter the fortress on my own, there are too many whispers that flow on the wind and a place like that it not somewhere you enter without……aid.” Shadowbasher replied. After the conversation shifted the party decided to prepare and make sure supplies were in order. Torches and oil were put in backpacks for a journey underground, rations were wrapped tight and preserved since there likely would not be much wildlife on the side of an active volcano.
The next morning Vik, Drax, Domric and Pfett set sail with the mercenary Shadowbasher. It was a quick voyage that only lasted a few hours with strong winds and experienced captains guiding the vessel. The galleon pull up short and launched a single raft with the team. Once on shore safely the galleon pulled away and sailed north toward the land of Enadai. The ground rumbled beneath their feet for a moment, a spurt of lava could be seen splashing up on the horizon further up the mountain side. Shadowbasher pulled his deep cloak up over his head and crouched low to the ground before moving off. “Follow me” he whispered into the wind.

D&D 15th Session
After a decent night of sleep staying at the farmer’s house on Ragnar’s old estate the party formed up and prepared to hit the road again. One last stretch to Thad’s landing and Beau would be back to safety. They set out and travel went easy enough, within two days they found themselves walking into Thad’s landing unharmed. Vik called for the guards and asked them to send for Thad, that the party had returned with information and also an Elder from the local town. Thad came out after some time to greet them and the group relayed what information they could about enemy numbers and their location. Although some details were forgotten and lost in recent events. Thad informed his commanders to ready the soldiers and knights to prepare to set out by midday after some rest. Vik advised not to march against such numbers and that he thought they should stay within the safety of the landing but Thad wanted to meet on neutral ground in hopes of a peace agreement. The party was convinced that the elves only wanted war. Everyone went back to the tavern, had a couple drinks and retired for the rest of the night. When they woke the engine of war could be heard rustling outside. Formations had readied supply wagons and carts, provisions were stored, and the first scouts had been sent ahead to report any activity. The party found Thad, who advised each member which squadron to join and they started out. Travel for the two days to the open fields went smooth, any creatures in the area were frightened away and any monsters knew that attacking meant a quick death. Once they arrived at the rolling fields south of Ragnar’s estate the brigade formed into battle positions with the Calvary staying out of sight but prepared for war. Everyone was scurrying to get into place and making sure to stay vigilant. Across the open field to the south, the tree line started to come alive. Hundreds of elves and half elves emerged from the forest and started to make some semblance of an attack formation. Within a matter of moments it was apparent that the numbers were in favor of the elves but the weapons and tactics seemed to be that of a mob. Thad rode forward with Vik, Drax, Domric, and Pfett to meet with the commanders mid field and discuss a treaty. When they arrived the reception wasn’t what they expected. The commanders badgered Thad, mocking the small amount of forces he had brought to the fight. Before too long the order was given to kill Drax as the remaining commanders retreated to the tree line. Drax was on his toes though, and when the two wide arcing swings of the great sword came barreling in at him, he quickly dodged wide. Domric let loose an arrow that sunk deep into the chest of the commander but still he pressed. Vic stepped in to aid Drax and was able to stop the forward momentum. Thad came in and in a blur of attacks cut the commander down, “To your positions, prepare for battle” he said.
The light infantry elves wearing leather and banded mail charged first, began to cross the open field. Archers behind them started to send off volleys while the rest advanced. A half Ogre could be seen charging openly to the west flank with a pack of wolves and berserkers. The first volley of arrows came crashing into the front lines but the heavy armor and large shields managed to deflect the majority of what came in. Thad’s infantry held their lines and barely flinched. A second volley of arrows crashed in as the elven infantry moved in closer to the front lines and again arrows bounced off shields. Domric let loose an arrow that found its way across the battle field and into the shoulder of the warlock Tisharu. She dropped to a knee and her sub commanders stepped in to ensure her protection. The elven infantry came into range, the front ranks of Thad’s infantry dropped planting their shields in the ground while the crossbowmen fired from over their heads. The unique repeating crossbows fired at a rate the elves did not expect. The front lines dropped with ease, bodies began to create tripping hazards for the charging elves that had not yet been able to slow their charge. The front lines reformed and shields went up again. Another volley of arrows reigned down more finding their target as the chaos ensued. The crossbowmen readied another volley and just as the elven infantry came crashing to the front lines, scores of bolts launched and raked into them. The Infantry’s clashed and steel could be heard ringing through the open fields. Behind the elven infantry came a brigade of pike men that formed up and used their comrades as shields as the reached for easy kills across the line. Vik, Thad, and Drax fought in the front lines while Pfett and the sub commanders stayed back bellowing out commands as the field changed. A wyvern was spotted crossing the field and Domric turned the attention of half his squad in its direction. Turning it into a pin cushion before it made it anywhere near the front lines. Thad’s Calvary charged from the hills to the west flank crashing with armored horse and flails into the infantry. The under armored elven infantry was no match and quickly was engulfed. Before long Commander Tisharu gave the command for the archers to keep firing, they saw the tide was turning and they would soon be on the defense “Kill as many as you can! Fire now and fire fast”, once again arrows reigned in and now without the shield wall more arrows found their marks. Domric focused fire now on the half ogre charging from the west and arrow after arrow landed until he was able to bring the beast to the ground. The wolves and berserkers continued to charge and clashed into the ensuing battle. The battle was chaos, arrows crashed into anyone in the field. Scimitars rang as they bounced off of shields, Glaives swung from high cutting into those engaged in hand to hand. Horses trampled over the dead as the cavaliers swung their deadly flails into any enemy they could find. Time felt like it had stopped, focused only on the next kill in front of them both sides were caught in the trance of battle. In the end Thad’s battalion one the front lines over. They quickly reformed and started to inch towards the archers and commanders on the other side of the field. Thad shouted over the field in a magically enhanced voice for them to yield and surrender but the elves still believed that they could win. Their numbers were still great. They continued to mock the charging forces. The laughter quickly stopped when a flash appeared and a streaking ball of fire came rolling into the center of the commanders and within seconds the blast of fire sent bodies launching into the air. When the smoke cleared, the charred bodies of their former commanders were all that was left. Within moments the Calvary and infantry clashed into the remaining elves, once again chaos wreaked havoc on the field and before long the ground began to rumble. Most did not notice it in the thralls of battle but those in the back saw the impending doom. The Centaurs had come to the aid of Thad’s landing, charging full on and cutting off the retreat of any elves. The battle quickly came to an end. Most surrendered but some fought to the death wanting nothing to do with being captured.
The fog of war drifted from the battlefield. Thad ordered the field searched and anyone surviving even the enemy was to be treated and cared for. The dead were to be properly buried and prayed for. It took almost a week to clear the field and once they were finished the brigade went back to Thad’s landing. War was not something that they had wished for, they wanted peace but it was apparent from the other cities and towns in the region the Kaththaes elves only cared for themselves and wanted everyone else dead or out of the region. Once back at Thad’s landing the group discussed with Thad the fact that Thoruk and the Red Wolf Mercenaries had gone and no one had heard from them. Thad requested their aid again in bringing some light on where and what they might be doing. He knew that Thoruk had originally came to the islands looking for precious gems and particular magic items but had not said more than that. The party started asking around at the tavern and the town jeweler. Piecing rumors together and some reliable information they were able to discern the direction he went was to the west, to the volcano, and quite possibly the gate to the elemental fire plane. They knew at once they needed to prepare, they trained and honed their skills and bought provisions enough for a long journey. They would set sail when the next available charter went out.

D&D 14th Session
Drax, Vic, and Torinn were escorted into the encampment. Hundreds of soldiers were set up all about gambling, cooking, sparring and some just taking an afternoon nap. They were not scared of any coming battles or with the new party members walking through their camp still armed. They were escorted to the commander’s tent where they met with the leader. She introduced herself and tried to entice some information from the three but they kept to their statements that they were just wondering the area looking for work. Drax took her up on an offer to go back to her chambers for some drinks and once back she began to question their real reasons for being there. Drax found himself compelled to tell the truth and from then on just went with it. She was not mad but knew that bounty hunters had a price and could be bought. She offered him a new mission to assassinate a town elder in the village to the south and pin the murder on another member of the council, Drax feeling he had no other options accepted the mission. When Drax finally returned to his friends he grabbed them and quickly said “let’s get out of here while we still can”. They started south, at first with an escort but they left at about midday. After the scouts left Domric and Pfett were able to catch back up as Domric used his hawk to keep a close eye on the group even as they entered the camp. They party traveled another day and arrived at Esyle Enthaes a small town to the south of Thad’s landing. They made their way inside the busy little farming village and made their way to the tavern. The team split up and started questioning town’s folk to find out what information they could about the town and quickly found that things here were very odd. Beau the man they were to assassinate was a very lawful tax collector and though he was strict with money he was still loved by the townspeople. Eugene the man they were supposed to frame was the town drunk but also loved for the comedy he brought them. Torinn did not want anything to do with the plot and quickly found himself at aww with the fact that some of his group had set out a path and were determined to complete the mission. As soon as he figured out that nothing was going to stop them from going through with it he set out to find Beau and inform him of the trouble. Meanwhile Vic found a new friend in Eugene drinking with him at the bar and having a grand time. Eugeane even invited him and his friends back to his place for the night if they would help him get at bath. Drax, Pfett and Vic decided to take him up on the offer of at least a place to stay the night but by the time the drunk had made it into the street he had already started to prepare for a bath in the town fountain. Just as they were heading to get him they noticed Torinn running towards them. They shouted out but Torinn ran right past ignoring them. They knew something was up and did everything they could to stop him. Vic even started a gust of wind blowing in their favor and pushing Torinn back to them. After a bit of tussling the party managed to pin Torinn to a cave entrance and found that he was on his way to inform the sheriff of their plan. Vic and Drax wanted to end his life right there for betraying them but noticed that the townsfolk had already started to gather at the spectacle. Everyone decided to head to Eugene’s house, once inside they found his wife who helped them to better understand the situation. From the intelligence they gathered through the rest of the night everything in the town was backwards. The two that were to be assassinated had down nothing wrong and the other two elders it seems had been doing much to control the village and keep the favor toward the Kaththeas elves. Had the party gone through with their mission the hold on this region would have doubled. The party then decided to work with Torinn in getting the elder Beau out of the village safely and back to Thad’s landing. With the aid of the thieves’ guild and a large sum of money from Torinn a distraction came from the weapon smith and the party was free to get out the front gate unnoticed. The party followed a wide trail up the river and back towards the landing. The majority of the trip went quietly but on their last night as they pushed through to make it to Ragnar’s estate and the farmers they had left there, Drax was ambushed by a Bone Naga. Drax was first to feel its gaze he felt the spell power roll over him but managed to hold back the mental barrage. Everyone threw anything they could. Drax attacked with three fast swings damaging the Naga but only angering it more. Vic sent out a guiding bolt of radiant energy blasting the creature with sheer energy. Torinn ran in and fought with his bow staff to slow the creature. Pfett stayed back and launched a few magic missiles from her fingertips. It was the Naga’s turn and it reared up and launched a single lightning bolt down through the party. Vic managed to dive sideways only catching the outermost blast of the bolt but Torinn and Pfett took the blast head on, Torinn could barely walk and Pfett dropped to the ground unconscious. Drax moved in to attack but was shaken by what he just witness and the Naga had easily dodged his attacks. Vic launched another blast that brought the beast down. The Party quickly got Pfett back to her feet and pushed through the night to make it to Ragnar’s estate. They found some of Ascar’s knights there protecting the farmers and they quickly relayed the news of the army to the south. Time for a quick rest and back on the road. They needed to get Beau back to the landing and make sure all preparations had been made for the defense.

D&D 13 Session
Everyone stood in shock, what should we do? Drax pulled out a flask of oil and started walked to the nearest tower to light the wick from the flames of the building. Hell bent on burning the ship to a crisp he looked for the next area to set ablaze. He noticed Pfett turn a corner to a tower and run off. He informed the party and they gave chase to try and catch her. When they arrived at the tower and opened the door flames burst from all angles, smoke poured out and wood fell from all corners as the fire took hold. Elanora noticed Pfett going up the stairs to the second floor so she chased after and just as she made it to the stairs a portion of the second story collapsed cutting off the rest of the party. Elenora continued on, wanting to reach his new found friend proceeded up the stairs. She made it to the second level and as she did Pfett came running down the stairs of the third and pushed past. Pfett shouting “nothing up here, get out of this place” as she passed. Elenora was confused but followed. As they came to the bottom of the stairs Vic had opened a second door and gave them a way out. Back on the deck the battle to stop Drax from setting everything else ablaze while they were still standing on the boat continued. Finally Domric decided to check below deck while Torinn tried to remind everyone of the humanoid bodies they found floating just outside the boat. Just as he was saying it Domric peeked through the trap door to the interior below deck and noticed a cage full of humans. Just underneath where the tower was burning. He informed the party and Torinn was the first to drop down. He ran to the locked door of the cage and summoning all the strength he could ripped the lock of the bars and the door swung open. Vic joined them and they started to escort the humans to the top deck to get on the longboat they journeyed in on. Domric began to search the rest of the hull, he found torture devices and body parts in jars all through the place. Once they cleared the area they went back up. Everyone began loading the boat but Domric wanted to see what was in the last tower. He sent his Blood Hawk in first to scout and found no enemies. Once they knew the threat was gone they searched the final tower for anything worth value. While searching the center tower collapsed into the ship tearing a giant hole in the hull. They were once again cut off from the rest of the party. Domrik quickly tied another rope off and Drax was the first to swing overboard and down to the raft waiting for them. After Domric was quick to join the group. Vic was the last one out and as he came over the edge he lost his grip and began to slide rapidly down the rope only to grab hold at the last minute slowing his decent. He made it but his hands were badly burned and bloody.
They sailed as far and as fast as they could, making it to shore with the help of Elenora using the stars to guide them and Domric sending his hawk during the day. Once ashore they made camp for the night to curb the exhaustion. In the middle of the night they awoke to a swarm of Skeletons and Zombies that had wondered into the camp. The group woke up and fought, not even taking the time to throw armor on they rushed into battle. Domric climbed up on a nearby boulder for a vantage and fired an arrow. The arrow took the skull right off the skeleton and its bones fell to a pile on the ground. Vic pulled out his holy symbol and compelled the undead to return from whence they came and nearly all of the standing undead turned to flee. Vic brought his mace down on the head of one that stayed to fight, its skull turning to dust as the mace continued down to the ribcage shattering bones and sending crushed dust up into the air. Pfett launched some fire bolts while Torinn and Elenora pummeled the last ones to death. The battle was quick and they returned to their rest. They made it back to Uylorn and informed the Centaur chief of the raid. He thanked them and informed them of a rumor circulating the camp. Thad’s landing was in danger. With his leave the party took the humans that would go on the journey back to Thad’s landing. One their way they reached Ragnar’s estate and the empty houses left behind from previous owners that had departed. Drax offered the land to the remaining humans and they accepted. Deciding to make a new home here and be a part of what may come of Thad’s Landing.
The party approached the landing, it had been some time since they were back at a familiar place. Something had changed though. Vic heard the horns of war calling out and they decided to make haste to see what was happening. Encampments all around the outside perimeter of Thad’s landing had sprouted up and Ascar’s Knights were preparing for battle. They found Thad at the center of town surrounded by commanders and Kalidor. Kalidor took one look at Phfett and took her to the church. Elenora followed in protest but was turned away at the doors to the church. Vic and Drax talked with Thad about the rumors and Thad was able to validate them. They were indeed aware of the pending attack and were trying everything they could to get ready for battle. Thad was concerned there was not enough troops for the fight. He only had eighty knights and clerics at his command and the Red Wolf Mercenaries were nowhere to be found. It would be another three weeks before ships would arrive carrying reinforcements and supplies. Through their aid at the centaur camp the Chief Uylorn pledged to aid them and the centaurs returned to prepare their fighters for battle. The party decided to step up, they volunteered to seek out the threat and determine their numbers. Thad agreed and asked them to buy him as much time as they could. The party broke and went to the tavern for the night. Resting and preparing for the journey the next day.
Everyone departed the next morning save Elenora, she decided to take her own path out into the wilderness to keep true to her spiritual journey. The party headed south along the river. The days passed peacefully as they caught salmon from the river streams and hunted in the forest while they could. The weather was beautiful and the wind cool on their faces. At one point Vic stumbled upon a Copper vein and marked it on his map for future reference. They journeyed for about three days and entered into another forest at the center of the island. They scouted in the woods for some time and were unable to come up with anything at first. Finally Domrics blood hawk was able to pick up signs of movement that he was able to later turn into a trail toward the main camp of wood elves. They continued to scout ahead and just as they approached what they thought to be the region hiding the elves Domric spotted two walking in the woods. The two elves were carless, or confident. They walked with weapons at the side talking amongst each other. The party decided to hide as best they could and left Vic and Drax in the open to confront them. The elves noticed the two and called out to them. After an exchange of words they walked in and sat down at the fire with Vic and Drax. They wanted to take part in the gambling that was going on. For a few minutes they played and talked to one another about why they were there. The elves had noticed Torinn in the bushes and called him out. Vic and Drax stumbled to try and keep their façade going when finally the elves decided to invite them back to the main camp. Drax had informed them that they were friends with the centaurs. As they walked toward the camp the two guards looked to each other and smiled “if we could bring the centaurs to our cause, we could win the war!” Vic, Drax, and Torinn walked with the two as they approached the camp. Phfett and Domric stayed back and continued to hide but kept track of their friends as they walked away.
The forest was dense, thick oak, maple, and pine trees so close the sun could barely reach through, the branches blocked most of the view. The sound of the forest, chirping birds, squirrels tossing leaves in the air as they chased each other, the feint beating of a wood pecker off in the distance. Vic, Drax and Torinn walked into the camp. Almost without even realizing it. One moment it was a peaceful forest the next they were surrounded by humans, half elves and wood elves. Heavily armored and with weapons cleaned for war. Thad’s landing was outnumbered, underprepared, and by Vic’s experience in war…..they were doomed.

D&D Session 12
Vic and Torinn Dropped to the ground, the hair on their arms and face singeing from the flames. They grabbed whatever they could and held on for life. Domric and Elenora hit the edge of the tower and it slowed them as they fell from the top, they tumbled down to the deck. As they landed disoriented they could only look up as they watched Pfett gracefully falling and a quiet splash a few seconds later. The horror came when they watched as Drax, in half plate armor came barreling down like a meteor. They jumped to their feet and looked over the forward rails and watched as Drax crashed sending a tidal wave out in all directions. Elenora was quick to aid. She jumped in to follow and grab Drax. Domric tossed a rope over to help them once they got back up. Elenora swam with precision and was able to retrieve Drax in a matter of moments. Shortly after Elenora, Drax, and Pfett were all in the craft they rowed in on. Working with haste to save Drax from his wounds. Domric ran for the tower. He went back to the top to see how Vic and Torinn were doing. Once at the top of the tower, they began to formulate what they could do next. Time didn’t permit. Lizard men started to come from all areas of the ship. It was time for battle. But the team was separated and badly wounded. Torinn and Domric began to attack the Lizard men as they circled the base of the tower. Domric landed a few arrows and Torinn managed to crush the skull of another just as it got to the door at the base of the tower. They did well to slow the enemy. But still more came. One made it to the second level and Vic decided to tie off a rope for a quick exit and began to light Molotov cocktails. Just as the lizard man made it to the second level Domric launched an arrow that blasted through the face of the intruder sending his limp body tumbling down the stairs. They looked back out the tower and saw four more entering into the tower. Vic told the others to start the decent and he would light them up once they all got to the second level. Domric and Torinn made it down the rope with ease, their light armor and skills brought them to the deck swiftly. Torinn joined his comrades down on the raft to ensure they were ok. Domric decided to head to the front of the tower to peak in. Vic decided to stop waiting and went to throw the cocktail. When he went to throw he was a little too excited and it slipped as he released smashing into the side of the trap door sending burning oil all across the floor around him. His leg caught on fire and he had to pat it out as fast as he could. He ran for the rope and nearly slipped his grip and fell. Domric opened the door and noticed all the Lizard men waiting for the intruders to come down the stairs and he launched a hail of thorns into the oil barrels around them and quickly tossed a cocktail onto the floor. The tower went up in flames. Two of the lizard men were caught in the inferno one made it to Domric though and managed to hit him square in the face with one great swing. Domric fell to the ground, too wounded from the blast and fall from the tower. Vic made it to the ground and was able to turn the corner and square off with the Lizard man, He managed to bring him to the ground and quickly cast a cure on Domric to bring him back to his feet. They stopped to catch their breath, it wouldn’t matter though, the sounds of armor clanked all around them.
In a matter of moments they were surrounded. Vic and Domric stood back to back as Lizard men fought from all angles. Everyone on the raft below could hear the fighting and began up the ladder. Drax was the first to arrive and he managed to stick his swords deep into ones belly and toss him overboard with swordplay the likes no one had ever witnessed. Domric felled another at his feet only to see another standing in the distance chanting and waving his arms. Domric targeted the shaman but it was too late, four crocodiles were summoned at his feet. Domric fired anyway knowing his folly. Torinn made it to the top of the ladder and attempted to assault the enemies attacking from the rear but didn’t find his footing and struggled to place a hit. A deep fog began to obstruct their view and their world became nothing but the battle in front of them. They fought for their lives, the battle was ferocious. Drax lost a weapon as the shaman turned it into a heated piece of metal. Vic managed to kick one in the privates and at the same time bring his mace down on his skull. Domric was able to launch a well-placed arrow into the chest of the shaman launching him over the rail of the ship and into the water below. Drax breathed a cone of ice out over the remaining crocodiles but the battled ensued. They were holding their ground when all of a sudden out of the fog came the leader. He charged in and with a strength beyond their imagine tossed Elenora over the boat with ease. Vic reached out touching the leader and inflicting wounds as he approached causing his flesh to rip open and blood to pour forth. The leader turned and skewered Vic with his trident and Vic called on his god to smite the creature. A blast ensued but as the radiant energy burned away at the leader the life force from Vic transferred into him healing the damage that would have otherwise wounded him. Vics body fell to the deck, motionless and cold. Drax was finishing off the Crocodiles when Domric turned and placed a hit on the leader but was retaliated against and Domrics body once again fell lifeless to the deck. Things were getting grim, Torinn was struggling to hold off multiple other lizard men in a battle that seemed to never turn in his favor. Pfett did what she could to help aid him, they wanted to bring them all down before focusing on the leader but their friends were dropping all around them. Drax was able to square off with the leader attempting to save the day but the battle had worn him out. Out of nowhere the sound of a screeching eagle came crashing into the leader taking it overboard as the talons sunk deep into his skin tearing the flesh at the same time its beak ripped at the skin on his face. Elenora they knew had managed to save the day. Drax dropped quickly to aid Vic in coming back into the fight. They turned to see another shaman at the far end of the boat that had begun casting and as Vic stood his armor began to heat to a searing pain, he ran for cover to get out of the sight of the shaman effectively canceling the spell. Torinn was clubbed and bitten then clubbed again and he fell to the deck blood seeping into the boards of the around him. Pfett was torn, not sure where to attack. She kept firing on the lizard man left standing over Torinns body. In an instant Elenora was back up and swooping in on the Shaman. Pfett turned to aid Elenora and launched some magic missiles effectively killing the shaman. All fire was then directed on the last remaining lizard man and he was dropped with ease. The battle was over and Elenora along with the others were able to stabilize and revive their teammates.
Everyone stood in a pile of bodies and blood on the deck. Breathing heavy, sweat pouring from their faces. The sting of blood and salt in their eyes made it difficult to see but a few feet in front of them. The heat from the towers burning around them was making it unbearable. None realized their folly, none of them took the time to understand what had happened. The battle was won but everything around them was crashing down. The fire had spread on the ship the towers were crumbling, and a smoke signal that could reach the main land spewed into the sky alerting all in the area to the presence. Who would come to the aid of a floundering ship? With whom would they hold their allegiances?
