Please behold the first photos from an INCREDIBLE set I just got back from Angelo, taken at AnimeNYC. This first shot really took my breath away, the cape flip and sun gleaming on the revolver are really giving 98 opening sequence vibes!

I was trying to channel some angst from the manga version of the Jeneora Rock incident, the moment that best correlates to how season one of Stampede ended, and which features the ridiculous undersuit that I've been working on for the last 6 months.

It's #tutorialtuesday again guys!! This is a teaser video for part one of a tutorial on making "goldwork" embroidery on a Pfaff Creative 4.5 embroidery machine! Full video (with actual explanations of what's going on) is on my YouTube channel "Alchemical Cosplay." Part one covers the techniques, and basic functions of the Premier+ digitizing software I used to design the embroidery. It shows the trials I did to get the look I was after. And part two will be about stitching out the actual embroidery, and adding it to the jacket! So P2 will be a bit of embroidery, and a bit of tailoring. And I guess this is an "official" post about the project I'm working on, because I haven't posted it to my feed yet?! I'm making Heero Yuy in the Sanc Kingdom jacket from Gundam Wing's OP2! Gundam Wing seriously for it hooks in me back in the golden age of Toonami, and I've actually bee dying to make Noin's Sanc Kingdom uniform! I was insanely inspired by the craftsmanship I saw at Katsucon the other week, and in particular by @wayracosplay 's Patchouli cosplay and her stunning petticoats 😍 she's the best kind of crazy person and hand quilted hers, but I took the easy way out and let my Pfaff Performance Icon do the heavy lifting. I went a little nuts adding some decorative stitching, and cording, and ruffles.... and then I tried free motion quilting for the first time and that is SO HARD MAN. SO HARD. Need a super big embroidery? With @pfaffsewing Precise Positioning feature it's easy to get around hoop size limitations by combining elements in separate hoopings to get ONE BIG PATCH. Portraits of the Squad, taken by the lovely @gamer_gent 💙 I love how these show so much of the details everyone put into these costumes! We all basically started from Squirtle + Sukeban/Bosozoku gang fashion and everyone took it from there! There are some similar themes...we all used the same fabric as the base, and my Pfaff Creative 4.5 cranked out a lot of "Squirtle Girl Boss" lettering and shell patches that we all used on the back of our outfit. But everyone chose their own outfit style, and customized it with everything from embroidered puns, hand beading, applique, vinyl transfers, and hand painted patches. Hater blockers for my Squirtle are done 😎 these were a little trickier to make than I thought they'd be, and they don't fit my face SUPER good... But they'll do! They started out life as a piece of amoky grey cut acrylic. I've been getting my acrylic laser cut at Canal Plastic in NYC, they have a really excellent online service where you can submit your art and pick it up later that day usually! It's totally worth it because cutting this shape out neatly myself would have been HARD. Anyway I heated it up and gave the acrylic a bit of a curve, then added some mirrored window tint film to the back so they're real shiny. Added black Worba around the edges to be an anchor for the arms (which I cannibalized from a cheapo pair of sunglasses), and made some nosepads from worbla too. Overall I'm pretty happy with how they came out! One step closer to SQUAD 😎 . #cosplay #squirtlesquad #squirtle #pokemon #cosplaywip
