Will “It was hellish (it was heavenly)” be continued or is it on hiatus?

hello!! I plan to continue it with at least one more chapter, but due to irl/other commitments, I'm not sure when I'll be able to finish and post it.

I do have this little excerpt from the next chapter lying in my google docs~

The moon-like sheen of heaven’s distant radiance washes over the room, its two inhabitants included. They are a sinner and his cat—who is, actually, a piece of divinity and who is, in fact, the ruler of all Hell. However, neither of them dwells on it because the cat is incredibly soft and cozy, and isn’t his purr just the sweetest thing this side of the Pentagram?  Indeed, Alastor is disinclined to think much of anything substantial with a fluffy pile of angelic warmth in his lap, and which is presently nudging his head into the radio demon’s hands.

Debatable as to whether I posted it on a Thursday, but it is time! For chapter 5 of catcifer fic! (づ ᴗ _ᴗ)づ♡

Lo, the excerpt:

“Now, now, you mustn’t speak here. This might be the worst of all places to be recognized.” Alastor murmured, tugging on Lucifer's cheek just so in the place that he hated. Reason, or whatever modicum that existed in his otherwise bereft head, stated that he shouldn’t transform back into the devil because a stray cat sitting in the radio demon’s lap was one thing, but the literal king of Hell doing as such would cause a public uproar the likes of which he never had the misfortune of experiencing. It was with some amount of regret, he conceded to Alastor’s mildly rational point. Still, it wasn’t like he couldn’t do anything. Just as Alastor succeeded in dodging a clawed paw aimed at tearing his pants, Lucifer felt a new presence enter the vicinity. It smelled of the ozone left after a lightning strike.

3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic

I usually start by letting a particular idea/premise simmer in my head for a while, sometimes for a few days and sometimes as long as a month or two! During that time I’ll think about it on the side while doing busywork or commuting. Maybe I’ll jot down particular phrasing or a plot point that might be relevant, but it’s still mostly ideation. 

When I feel I have enough of these components, or just enough motivation lol, I’ll sit down in front of a computer and start writing. Particularly if it’s a new fandom, I’ll have some youtube clips or wiki pages on the side as reference for dialogue or characterization points – maybe even a few fics of the characters that I really like. 

My writing process is sort of a mixed bag at the moment. I turn to a short series of bulleted points when I’m starting the fic or if my mind is either stuck or going too fast for me to write everything in prose. On the other hand, I’ve started scenes without a clear picture of where it’ll go. Like I’ll just be putting my two skrunklies in a room and letting them just be and breathe as characters, and seeing where that ends up. This method’s kinda scary to me lol, like walking around at night and only being able to see a few feet ahead, but the writing tends to ring true! ^-^

After that I’ll do some revisions over a day or a few, but I tend to keep it light since imo fics are meant to be fun to write and over-editing kinda takes that away for me. 

14. How do you write emotional scenes? Do you ever feel what the characters feel? Do you draw from personal experiences?

My most resonant writing usually comes from personal experiences, so I try to draw on them when I can! It’s harder for fics where I write oddballs with vastly different life situations (exhibit A radioapple lol), but putting bits of myself into their characterization helps it feel more genuine. Emotionally I can be kinda distant and I think I’d have a hard time identifying which scenes are particularly emotional, but it usually helps to think about where the character is coming from, both in the long and short term, and seeing how that informs the way they react to things.

Chapta 4 of kitty luci fic is now out! (ㅅ´ ˘ `) ♡

Finally getting around to write some long pieces of dialogue for these two, grumpy banter included! An excerpt~

Finally, Alastor's gaze drifted to a collection of books with velvet-red covers. Each volume was titled with a different name that progressed from “bellhop” to “busboy” to “Alexander” to “Alice,” and finally, several approximately thousand-page books with “Alastor” written front and center.  Lucifer was, unfortunately, not spared from the endless bits of teasing and chaff that resulted from Alastor’s discovery.  (The lighthearted “Oh my, I hadn’t realized that Hell’s king kept such an obsession with me!” and the more genuinely curious, “Have you been tracking my every act of sin? Is that the reason for the length of these tomes?” sent a violent flush down his face and neck. The devil left the latter question unanswered, reasoning that telling Alastor that no, he didn’t keep records like that, though seriously, did you kill that many people – would result in Alastor asking more questions that Lucifer wasn’t ready to address.)

(Life do absolutely be getting hectic right now but I'm glad I was able to finish this chap! Updates might slow down a bit, I hope y'all will enjoy nevertheless! ε(´｡•᎑•`)っ 💕)

RadioAppleWeek Day Five: Domestic

I saw the og post and knew I had to make a radioapple version 🥹 I just want soft, domestic Alastor and Lucifer cuddling ok-

Finished the next chapter of kitty luci fic wooo!! (´｡• ◡ •｡`) ♡

This ended up following the early mornings prompt of radioapple week, though I hadn't realized while writing it haha. Anyway, here's an excerpt!

But of course, Alastor’s appeal to his obligation to protect Charlie wasn’t enough to bleed all the fight out of Lucifer. The sin swiped a sheathed paw at the sinner, bopping his nose. Alastor let out a small squeak and quickly tried to hide it with a cough. He seemed unaware that a rosy tint had begun to color his cheeks.  Alastor caught Lucifer’s next strike without much effort at all. The demon stuck out his tongue, just a thin sliver of pink exiting the center of his lips, mocking Lucifer in a truly juvenile display that still made the devil want to blush at how adorable the expression was on him.  Luckily for Alastor, the task of chasing away his – embarrassingly multitudinous – thoughts of Alastor being cute was enough to preoccupy Lucifer while Alastor carried him outside.
